quote author=Kansola01 post=128987599]Hello everyone,

Thank you for all the helpful comments so far. Please i have a quick question:

Can i do a new DS160 form and update it or i would have to pay a new visa fee? Reason for the change - Purpose of visit has changed.
Is birth tourism a legal reason for them to consider your application?
Is it still possible to get dates before June 2024? Is there anyone that can help?
Thank you so much.[/quote]

Honestly, this is frustrating. I graduated from UNIBEN since 2012. Having applied for my transcript for almost two months , when in actual fact, I was told it would take just three weeks. Now, I have a deadline of January 5th ,2024 for the purpose I needed it for and all efforts - calls , messages put across were rebuffed . Someone should pls come to my aid. Thanks

Have you gotten your transcript yet?

This Agents who assist others to get US visa interview appointments. Are they for real? And does it not have any effect on the visa application?
Please I need answers

I dont know if they are for real, I have read cases of fake dates and people were turned back from the embassy, as visa officer can't find any scheduled appointment.

searching for an early date has been an uphill task. Exhausted already abeg. If you find out, npls let me know

I’ve been applying to the Uk embassy since when we were allowed to go to Walter Carrington with our docs and Their visa fees are the most ridiculous of all the embassies in Nigeria offering visas and for a few years now you have to find your usd to pay the visa fees they don’t even have the option of you paying in Naira since they stopped used vfs and moved to teleperformance. For the USA it’s still $185 and they’re going by what obtains as exchange rate via gtbank for a flat number of 5 years, imagine paying a little over $1k as visa fees for 10 years, I paid $1259 to be precise which is over 1.5 million and they call that seamlesss and reasonable? Anyway they no force us to apply na we carry ourselves go apply, get a second citizenship to stop this nonsense. God help us all.

I still maintain the U.S. embassy is more reasonable in terms of visa fees than the uk the one year wait time aside.

Over 1.5m for visa fee is beyond outrageous!
What! But for the US high refusal rate and wait time, kindda think their process is pretty straight forward, and less cumbersome.

The US embassy adjusts its visa fees based on the exchange rate available at the central bank for dollar exchange. If the exchange rate goes up, the visa fees increase accordingly, and if it goes down, the fees decrease. This has been the pattern since last year. Despite the increase, the fees are still significantly lower than the UK embassy fees, which are exorbitant and unreasonable.

The UK fees I havent been able to wrap my head around it. It's all sad really. I have to google to know what Nigeria Embassy visa fee is to British citizens. Maybe it's an agreement. Otherwise is just not right.

2 years ago, I was at VFS Abuja and i had someone who came to apply for Sweden visa. In our own country o, these embassies mandate our people they pay them in Krona or usd. The high-handness in our system is something to be studied and the foreign missions are cashing out on it
Very soon again, they will dash us 100 million euros in the name of Poverty Alleviation and take back hundreds of millions of euros through migration.
You can see what canada is doing.
Application fee
Biometrics fee
Transmission fee
Na wa grin

277k for a USA Visa fee is outreagous.

It's crazy. What's exactly their reason for the almost 100per increment? Maybe to discourage people i don't know. But Nigerian should learn to use a Visa for the right purpose. They maybe perceive most people are trying to Japa, and you really can't blame them.

These set of people spoil the chances for those whose sole reason for wanting a tourist visa for example is tourism and come back home. But how would the visa officer know this?

The only good thing our Govt did was making them extend validity to 5years, but the Visa fee shouldn't be this high, it almost feels like legal extortion.

Pay 277k, wait 1 yr plus for appointment and then get refused in 2mins.
Africans will liberate themselves one day.

Dont blame us. I hope our Govt fix this tbvh.
Atleast 60per of the Visa fee should be refunded in the event of a refusal.
Now the fee is 277,500k. Haba
