May God bless the writer. 1 Timothy 6:6-11 But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. 1 Like 1 Share |
Politics / Re: Akeredolu Sacks Augustine Pelemo, Called Deputy Gov.'s Wife 'Acting First Lady' by theomoscoboy: 10:08pm On Oct 07, 2019 |
Press Statement Re-Why Akeredolu Sacked Political Aide The Oluwarotimi Akeredolu government strives on the principle of free speech including media reports however warped. However, it is pertinent to put the records straight in respect of the subject matter as dissected in a media report. Agreeing that interpretations are allowed in reportage, it has yet become a norm in media practice that insinuations and outright make-ups take the centre stage. This report is totally untrue. For one, linking the sack of the Special Assistant ( described as Senior Special Assistant in the report) to whatever post he had authored on the social media can only be the product of self-help. The second paragraph of the statement which relieved the said official is unambiguous. For emphasis, it reads thus: ''This directive is with immediate effect; and it underscores the need to instill sanity and nip in the bud, divisive acts and tendencies inimical to the existing cordiality and cohesion in the administration led by the Governor.'' For the records, the First Lady did not travel out with the Governor. She has not left the shores of this country in the last three weeks. Just seventy two hours ago (Saturday precisely), she was at Ibadan to lead the walk against cancer which attracted the best of desirable publicity. It is, therefore, preposterous for anyone to insinuate that both the governor and the wife transmitted a letter to the State Assembly before embarking on a trip. Such is alien to our constitution. MY VICTORY IS A VICTORY FOR ALL (Being a CONGRATULATORY Speech delivered By ALH Tajudeen Adeyemi Adefisoye Atenidegbe(Small Alhaji) Shortly after he was officially Declared as MHR Elect representing Idanre/ifedore Federal Constituency) Our desire for a generational change in the political leadership of this great Constituency Started in August 2017, After observing myriads of challenges our people are going through as a result of very poor representation in the lower House. We took a decision to no longer be a spectator who sit and complain but to embark on a revolution to take over and be the change we so desire. As an experienced politician and administrator and a former legislative aide, I knew being in a FEDERAL HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVE as a legislator will afford me the opportunity to effect laws that will better the lives of our people. The race started in August 2018. I won the primaries in October 2018. Campaign started in November 2018. Campaign took us to over 300 Camps in IDANRE and 20 camps in IFEDORE, some of which are Jimgbe,Ala, Omifunfun, Oniseere,Ajibamdele,Elemo, Sapaye,Owena,Bolorunduro, Onijaka,Igbutitan, just to mention a few where I witnessed first hand the hardship our people are going through which ranges from bad roads to lack of good water, no electricity supply or even mobile networks, There were some I attended to immediately by digging boreholes in the villages and buying generators for them. We spoke at various Town Hall meetings organized for the purpose of the campaign and visited many interest groups. Our message was Clear and tagged DEVELOPMENT WITH SMALL ALHAJI. Yes, All areas will be developed ranging from Youth emancipation, Education, Sports,Health Sector, Rural and Community development, Job Security and Welfare. No one will be left out, Our VATA 2019 Team resonates the message to all the nooks and cranny of Idanre/ Ifedore. The elections finally held on Saturday the 23rd of February,2019. And the will of Almighty God prevailed and WE WON. We won because the people and the youths accepted us as their only hope to bring the desired change they want in governance and quality representation that will bring about emancipation and developments. And that is what we will give. Its clearly a case of let's try this and its left to us to ensure we don't fail them. Today is a day to be Thankful Thankful to Almighty ALLAH who made this victory possible Thankful to my Parents whose Values and kindness paved way for me Thankful to all members of the VATA 2019 Team who believed in my vision and worked hard to help me achieve it Thankful to our Youths who Spoke with One voice and defended Their Votes. Thankful to my Co Contestants, the election is over, and this victory is for all of us, Together we shall develop our constituency and make Idanre/ Ifedore a community to reckon with all over the world Thankful to My King, The Owa of Idanre and all the Kings in Idanre and Ifedore, the Bales, Chiefs, Community Heads and all others too numerous to mention. Thankful to all those who believe in us and those who doubted us, Your doubts made us to double our efforts and made us what we become today. And most importantly, the youths and People of Idanre/Ifedore who overwhelmingly gave me their mandate to be their voice and ears at the 9th assembly. Today, We are celebrating our victory at the polls. This victory is not for me alone but for every one whose desire is to see that our constituency is not dormant but actively involved. You have spoken through your votes, We shall speak through our Actions, we will not fail your hope in us. We are resolutely committed to the developments of Idanre/Ifedore, Ondo State and Nigeria at large. HISTORY HAS JUST BEEN MADE and now is the Time to get to work and Justify the hope our people have in us! Long live Idanre/Ifedore Long live Ondo State Long live Nigeria. I am Alhaji Tajudeen Adeyemi Adefisoye Atenidegbe ( Small Alhaji) MHR Elect Idanre/Ifedore.

Politics / 'Small Alhaji’, 35-year-old SDP Candidate, Declared Winner Of Ondo Reps Seat by theomoscoboy: 7:19pm On Feb 24, 2019 |
Tajudeen Adeyemi Adefisoye, the House of Representatives candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), has won the Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency seat of the National Assembly election in Ondo State. Adefisoye, popularly known as ‘Small Alhaji’, was declared the winner of the poll by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). He polled 16,186 votes to beat his closest rival, Kayode Akinmade of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the keenly contested election. Akinmade, a former Commissioner under the immediate past government of Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, polled a total number of 14,191 votes to come second in the poll. Professor V.A. Bello, the INEC Returning Officer for the federal constituency, announced the election result at the collation centre in Owena on Sunday. According to Bello, having satisfied the INEC rule of having the highest votes at the election, Adefisoye was declared the winner. “The SDP candidate, having satisfied the INEC rule of having the highest votes of 16,186 against his closest rival of the PDP who had 14,191 votes, is hereby declared winner of the election,” he said. Speaking on his victory, Adefisoye said the successes recorded in the weekend election was due to the unrelenting effort of his supporters who came out in their large numbers to exercise their franchise for him. “It brings me boundless joy to know that our party, the Social Democratic Party (SDP), attained victory not only in Idanre my very local government, but also won handsomely in Ifedore local government. “There was no way this victory could have been possible without the relentless and uncompromising commitment of our supporters. “I say a big thank you from my heart for not only ensuring our victory at the polls, but your eternal vigilance up to the collation centres, which did not allow our victory to be stolen, is equally very much commendable. “Let me reiterate once again that this victory is not only for Tajudeen Adeyemi Adefisoye ‘Small Alhaji’, but for everyone that has contributed in one way or the other to this overall electoral success. “As a follow up to the official declaration of Alhaji Tajudeen Adefisoye by INEC as a member, House of Representatives elected for Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency by INEC, you can be assured of mild merriments to celebrate our collective victory. “Once again, my most profound appreciation to everyone that has given us reasons to celebrate. Our teeming supporters have proven to be vital shoulders that never allowed my clothing to fall off.” https://veracitydesk.com.ng/2019/02/24/breaking-small-alhaji-35-year-old-sdp-candidate-declared-winner-of-ondo-reps-seat/ 1 Like

Politics / Seven Arrested For Alleged Pvcs Racketeering In Ekiti by theomoscoboy: 2:26pm On Feb 22, 2019 |
Seven members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State have been arrested for illegal collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) from eligible voters in Ikere Ekiti. The House of Assembly member representing Ikere Constituency 1, Mr. Wale Ayeni, who allegedly masterminded the voter cards racketeering was said to be on the run. Ayeni escaped being arrested by the whiskers when the policemen swooped on his situation office in Oke’kere area of the town where the alleged PVCs racketeering was going on. The armed policemen believed to be acting on tip-off stormed the area few minutes before 1pm and recovered unspecified number of PVCs from the suspects. Ayeni was said to have blocked the federal highway that passes through the area gathering eligible voters to collect their cards. The operation caused confusion as the seven other PDP members allegedly assisting Ayeni to collect the PVCs were apprehended by the policemen. Party members arrested are said to be cooling their heels in the custody of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) where they are stating all they know about the incident. The lawmaker is the Deputy Director General of PDP Presidential Campaign Council in charge of Ekiti South senatorial district of which Ikere is part. Ayeni could not be reached on his mobile phone at the time of filing this report. When contacted, Police spokesman Caleb Ikechukwu said the report of the incident was yet to be brought to his office. thenationonlineng.net/seven-arrested-for-alleged-pvcs-racketeering-in-ekiti/ https://latestnews.ng/seven-pdp-members-arrested-for-alleged-pvcs-racketeering/ |

Politics / Death Toll In Kajuru Attacks Has Risen To 130 —el-rufai by theomoscoboy: 12:17am On Feb 20, 2019 |
Kaduna State Governor Nasir el - Rufai on Tuesday sought the deployment of more troops in the state to maintain peace during the general elections . El - Rufai spoke shortly after a security meeting convened by President Muhammadu Buhari ended at the Presidential Villa in Abuja . He stated that from latest figures he had received, over 130 lives were lost in the recent attacks in Kajuru Local Government Area of the state . He recalled how some people doubted the initial report on the loss of 66 lives, adding that the updated toll had risen to over 130 . The governor called those who said nobody died in the attack “ irresponsible ” . He said, “ The last report we got is that over 130 people were killed, not even 66. And the Fulani leaders are providing the names of all these people; we have the list and we will release it to the press. “ We can release the pictures of the people killed and how the army had to be there to help bury them two days after they were killed because the bodies were decomposing . “ But some people are being irresponsible, they are pretending this has not happened because it does not fit their ethnic or partisan narrative . It is totally irresponsible because this can happen to anyone of us. ” He said he had been appealing to the victims ’ families to avoid reprisals not to worsen the security situation in the area. El - Rufai added , “ We requested enhanced military presence in particular locations that are either affected by rural banditry, these are the local government of Birnin - Gwari/Giwa Angchukwu and areas where there has been a history of either electoral violence or ethno - religious intolerance. “ We have already mapped out local arrangements with the garrison commander and the commissioner of police and we have made adequate arrangements to ensure that every citizen of Kaduna State will be free to vote in an atmosphere of peace and security. “ We got assurances from Mr President that whatever security assets we need in addition to what is already on the ground to ensure peaceful elections will be provided. ” The governor said the meeting dwelt on the general insecurity in some northern states, particularly Borno, Yobe , Adamawa and Kaduna. While the case of Yobe , Adamawa and Borno had to do with attacks by Boko Haram, he said the meeting touched on the Kajuru killings . Powered by Ru El - Rufai said, “ The governor of Borno State submitted a comprehensive brief on the situation in Borno and Yobe states, which he is very familiar with, having been on the seat for eight years. “ The governor of Adamawa State presented a situation report regarding Adamawa and I submitted a briefing based on what has been happening in Kaduna State in the last few weeks and months. “ We noted the significant improvement in the security situation across our states, in spite of the challenges and thanked the Federal Government for making available security assets to the states any time we needed them , which has led to some level of stability of the situation . “ Across the states , we are ready for elections; we do not believe that the level of challenges will preclude elections not taking place all over our states. Of course, in the case of Borno, other than one or two local governments that may vote outside of their immediate areas, every voter will vote in their local government, compared to the situation in 2015 that some voters in Borno had to vote in Maiduguri .” El - Rufai spoke just as the Kaduna State Commissioner of Police , Mr Ahmed Abdulrahman, announced the arrest of 11 suspects in connection with the Kajuru killings . He said they would be arraigned on Thursday. Also speaking after the meeting , Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima said he was ready to die if that would end the insurgency in the state . Shettima stated that despite the recent attack on his convoy that led to the loss of lives , he would return to the Maiduguri - Gamboru road for campaign next week , adding that he would not drive in a bulletproof car . https://punchng.com/death-toll-in-kajuru-attacks-has-risen-to-130-el-rufai/
