CoolJason: When addressing whether drinking alcohol is a sin for Christians, it is essential to differentiate between the consumption of alcohol and drunkenness. The Bible does not categorically state that drinking alcohol is a sin, but it strongly warns against drunkenness and its associated behaviors. So, here are some questions: can you drink alcohol without getting drunk? Can you drink it without getting addicted? can you drink it without resulting to behaviors such as smoking, womanizing, and keeping bad company. Lastly, do you think Jesus will drink alcohol and sit comfortably in such environment? If you answer no to any of these questions, then the answer is obvious to you. Let's look at these Biblical facts: Drunkenness is Condemned in the Bible: Ephesians 5:18: "And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit." Proverbs 20:1: "Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise." While the Bible acknowledges the consumption of wine. 1 Timothy 5:23 even suggests using a little wine for medicinal purposes: "Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities." This confirms the fact that wine have medicinal use including alcohol and as such there is no problem. John 2:1-11: Jesus performed His first miracle at the wedding in Canaan by turning water into wine. There is no indication that this was an alcoholic beverage intended for drunkenness, but rather a symbol of joy and celebration. Proverbs 23:29-35 describes the negative effects of drinking: "Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes? They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine." Alcohol’s Influence on Behavior: Drunkenness can lead to loss of self-control and immoral behavior. Galatians 5:19-21 lists drunkenness among the works of the flesh that are contrary to living by the Spirit: "Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness... envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God." Christians are called to be a good example and not cause others to stumble. Romans 14:21 says, "It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak." While the Bible does not explicitly label the consumption of alcohol as a sin, but the Bible is clearly against drunkenness and its consequences. As Christians, the focus should be on maintaining self-control, being filled with the Spirit, and avoiding behaviors that can lead to sin or cause others to stumble. Therefor, abstaining from alcohol is best decision for any believer. |

1. Courage in the Face of Fear: - Esther demonstrated immense courage when she approached King Xerxes uninvited, risking her life to save her people. Her bravery teaches us to stand firm and act courageously, even when faced with fear and uncertainty. As she said in Esther 4:16, "If I perish, I perish," showing her willingness to sacrifice for a greater good. 2. The Power of Fasting and Prayer: - Before taking action, Esther called for a fast among the Jews, emphasizing the importance of seeking God’s guidance and favor through fasting and prayer. This underscores the significance of spiritual preparation and reliance on God in critical situations (Esther 4:16). 3. Wisdom in Timing and Approach: - Esther displayed wisdom by carefully planning her approach to the king. Instead of making her request immediately, she invited the king and Haman to two banquets, creating a favorable environment for her plea. This teaches us the importance of patience, strategic planning, and timing in addressing important matters (Esther 5-7). 4. Using Influence for Good: - As queen, Esther had a unique position of influence, which she used to advocate for her people. Her actions remind us to use our positions and influence, no matter how small, to bring about positive change and support those in need (Esther 4:14). 5. Standing Up Against Injustice: - Esther's story is a powerful example of standing up against injustice and oppression. She didn't remain silent in the face of Haman's plot to annihilate the Jews but took bold steps to thwart his plans. This encourages us to confront and address injustice wherever we encounter it (Esther 7:3-6). 6. The Impact of Mentorship and Guidance: - Mordecai’s guidance and support were crucial in Esther’s journey. His advice helped her navigate the complexities of her role and mission. This highlights the value of seeking and heeding wise counsel from mentors and trusted advisors (Esther 2:10, 4:13-14). 7. God’s Providence and Purpose: - The story of Esther showcases God’s providence, even in situations where His presence is not explicitly mentioned. Esther’s rise to queenship and the subsequent deliverance of the Jews illustrate that God orchestrates events and positions people for His purposes. This assures us that God is always at work in our lives, guiding and positioning us for His greater plan (Esther 4:14). Esther's life encourages us to live with faith, courage, and purpose. |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpoetB19-Ps Prayer is the lifeline of a believer, a vital connection with our Heavenly Father. Yet, many of us struggle to maintain a consistent and meaningful prayer life amid the busyness and distractions of daily living. Here are seven practical steps to help every believer cultivate a consistent prayer life: 1. Set a Specific Time for Prayer: - Dedicate a specific time each day for prayer, making it a non-negotiable part of your daily routine. Whether it’s early in the morning, during lunch breaks, or before bedtime. 2. Create a Prayer Space: - Find a quiet and comfortable place where you can pray without distractions. This could be a corner of your room, a cozy chair, or even a spot. Jesus often withdrew to lonely places to pray (Luke 5:16), it is important to find a peaceful environment devoid of distractions. 3. Start with Scripture: - Begin your prayer time by reading a passage from the Bible. This helps to focus your mind on God and His Word. Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” 4. Use a Prayer Journal: - Keep a journal to write down your prayers, thoughts, and any insights you receive. This practice helps you stay focused, track your prayer requests, and reflect on answered prayers. Philippians 4:6 encourages us to present our requests to God, and journaling can be a tangible way to do this. 5. Pray with a Structure: - Use a structured approach to prayer, such as the ACTS method (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication). The Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13) provides a model for how to structure our prayers. 6. Incorporate Worship and Thanksgiving: - Spend time worshiping God and giving thanks for His blessings. Worship music, hymns, or simply speaking words of praise can enrich your prayer time. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 urges us to “rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances,” emphasizing the importance of gratitude and joy in our prayers. 7. Pray with Others: - Join a prayer group or find a prayer partner to pray with regularly. Praying with others can provide accountability, encouragement, and a sense of community. Matthew 18:20 reminds us that “where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” Collective prayer will strengthen your own prayer life and build a supportive network of fellow believers. |

Most men are not afraid or intimidated by a woman's success, but how she treats him and handle power when eventually successful. Most men work very hard just to make their woman happy! Most women work very hard to control their man! Most women wants to marry a rich man! Most men will avoid marrying a rich woman! The only exception here is when there is true love. As a woman, "you shouldn't marry a man you can't respect". And as man, "you shouldn't marry woman you can't love" Personally, I have no problem if the woman I will marry becomes the president. I will be her number one supporter, but will get angry if addressed as the first man. Though most women will be happy when addressed as first lady. There was a time we had to select a successor for our group. A lady and a guy were vying for the president. Selflessness and humility gave the lady an edge, and we picked her. Guys do you agree or disagree? |
