Thanks for the info and Amen to the prayers. Was it free of charge though?

Wasn't free of charge. It was $89 for the service for self pay. And that was it!

Special thanks to everyone who showed concern towards my sons health. God bless u so much.
My special appreciation to @Amother4life God bless all your endeavours dearie. You would never know sorrow.

Meanwhile, got info to share.

I pray for perfect health for kids travelling with their mothers/parents. But meanwhile, if you find yourself as a parent needing medical attention for your child while in the US.
Pls use "URGENT CARE" , i gathered they are not far from any neighbourhood in the US and they cater for only kids.

I wish everyone perfect health. Cheers!

So sorry about your son Tiababy, may God heal him.

As advised earlier, please take travel insurance when traveling with young kids and even the elderly.

Even if you have to go to the hospital, the insurance will cover you.

It cost me 28k for 2 and covers up to 30000 euros for the duration. It is easier to manage costs and situations that way. I used mansard insurance.

Wow, the situation I am is really an eye opener. Would surely do this once I get back home. It's terrible to be in this situation. And I am still grateful it would help so many people prepare for travel with their children. Many thanks for all these contributions.

Why didn't you use Anti Malaria before you travelled? (I usually take back up sef)Besides, how many weeks have you been in the US for? Malaria isn't something to readily treat as they may quarantine your child... He/she may just have the flu just keep temp down by using Tylenol and pat him/her down with a damp cloth. What state in the US?

Infact, I have been crying all night. Feel so guilty. He had just recovered for diarrhoea that went on for 2 weeks before I left Nigeria. I don't even know how I overlooked the anti-malaria drug or even missed out taking malaria drug for him. But then, I have done all the wash rag thingy to no avail. The symptoms have gone worse.

Hi Tiababy, what city are you in? maybe someone around there or coming there can help you out!

Note to mothers travelling with toddlers and bigger kids always remember to take drugs for your kids especially those that are not readily available in the US and by that I mean 'over the counter'. You would need prescription for Antimalaria, Antibiotics, even ordinary cough and cold drugs sef they sometimes don't sell.

Even on vacation I carry drugs with me! We never pray that our kids get sick but its good to hold just in case!

I am in Ohio. It's so unfortunate I have all other drugs with me except malaria.

Hi everyone, urgent please.
can anyone help me with the contact of a pediatrician that can help me here in the US. I am still preggy and waiting to give birth in Sept but my 3 year old is been ill for 5 days now.
I have been giving him paracetamol for a while now thinking it was change of environment thingy. But the whole thing got worse, need to get malaria drug for him according to his doctor from Nigeria. But I have discovered I can't get a malaria drug without prescription. Can anyone help me.

So, house. I came in through Newark with my hubby and 2 year old son. I was 34weeks. Tension was all over me.
but then we got to the officers desk after a very long queue. I had planned my 2 year old to greet and charm the officer.
My son said "Good afternoon officer" 3 times but the officer didn't reply not look at him. At this point, I don dey piss for bodii.
he finally raised his head from the computer after about 4mins of smiling at the computer. Your cards and passport, he asked.
We handed it over.
why are u here?
Hubby answered- for holiday and child........... (officer wasn't listening anymore) and "birth" came out of hubbys lips like a silent fart.
where are u coming from?
Hubby answered- Birmingham UK
he went back to his computer for another 2mins. And asked hubby
what do u do? Hubby replied.
he took our finger prints and that how we got stamped in for 6 months.
It was like a dream o. Infact, I reached for the toilet immediately I got to the baggage claim area.
I wish all prospective travellers a successful POE story and most especially I wish myself and other expectant mothers safe delivery.

Cheers!

Hi everyone, got into the US 2 days ago. I already attended my Visa interview before stumbling on this forum.
I applied with my hubby and son and got the B1/B2 visas without mentioning anything about birth; though I was 31 weeks at the time of application and was showing.
By the time I stumbled on this forum, "my heart cut". There wasn't any other option than to just find correspondences and proceed to the point of FATE (POE). Sending a letter to the embassy on change of intention was not rational added to the fact that we weren't able to pick up passports until after 2 weeks. That already put me at 33weeks. Hmmmmmmm. Hypertension!
Anyway, we bought flight tickets and first, headed to the UK for 4 days....... cos hubby had stuffs to do there. I welcomed the idea since that would put me far away from ATLANTA, HOUSTON and CHICAGO POE's wink

Long post...... part 2 coming up

Newark New Jersey was awesome. Came in with wifey and spent less than 3mins with the cbp officer. Asked why we were in the US, told him vacation and childbirth. That was it. I was surprised. Took wife's pic and stamped us in. Went through Agriculture and also had to fill a form cos we declared having food and funds in excess of 10k. No biggie, no food siezed, money was not checked either. Just filled the fund declaration form and that was it
Thanks Darius 84
But did u declare during application u were going for child birth? I am getting excited. Lol

Hi everyone, I am new to this forum and have been reading for the past 2 days. Read from part 1 though had to skip some pages.
Can anyone please help with any affordable hospital in Dayton, ohio.
The cheapest I have gotten for 2 day stay delivery is $7,000. This is minus doctors fee as well as blood work and paediatrics.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Anyone, any help?
