Please how did you go about the PhD stuff. Did you get supervisor firs? Please could you give me a break down. Then how many years was granted for a PhD, and please plus the cost. Thanks.

Yes, I got a supervisor (we've been working together for a while) first before applying and applied for the RTP scholarship (for tuition and stipend)online through the school website. The PHD program is for 3-4 years. It costs about $34,200 AUD per annum.

They can't nominate you under 189. They can do it under the 186 scheme.

When did you fill the EOI?

yh... i thought as much and read more about it. I submitted on the 9th of this month but with the invitation trend, i don't see any hope soon in the 189 category with 60 points sad sad sad. Will ask them to contact DIBP for the 186 scheme. Thank you

I couldn't reply to any mail until I read on my profile that I was banned by antispam.

Thanks for releasing the handle.

bellong:

Under which visa do they want to nominate you?

Welcome back Sir

Well, they were asking if they could do that under the 189 visa subclass?

I think 186 visa subclass is the appropriate route. Will tell them to contact DIBP. Thank you

I missed this earlier.

Aircraft maintenance engineer is a skill level 3 occupation in Australia which means you need only a certificate 4 qualification which is lower than a diploma.
Aircraft maintenance engineer (mechanical) is sponsored by Northern Territory and on special condition in South Australia.

My advice, if it is possible to pattern your experience in aviation to a mechanical engineer, that will be better for you to claim 10 points experience. With 70/75points, you should get ITA on time as a mechanical engineer.

If you don't mind applying to NT, then follow the aircraft maintenance engineer path.

Thanks so much Oga Bellong
