Education / Unilag Remita Payment Portal For Students by TKH(m): 9:15pm On Sep 19, 2017 |
Good day, I am trying to make a payment to collect my statement of results from Unilang. It's been quite some time since I graduated, and am informed that things are now done online, specifically through the Remita portal of the University at https://pay.tranzgate.com.ng/InitiatePayment.aspx?clientid=27&remita=1&create=1 Trouble is, I have been on this thing since morning (it's now 9.10 pm), but I am repeatedly getting the following error message: Error preparing online payment: Reason: Server was unable to process request. ---> System.Exception: The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error. ---> System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error. Does anyone have a clue what is going on? While trying to tweak things around, at some point I got the message that "the student 920404080" could not be found. That's my matric number, and I wonder whether the numbering system has been changed. Please I need urgent help with this. Thanks and God bless. |
Car Talk / Urgent Engine Oil Question by TKH(m): 2:09pm On May 22, 2017 |
Hello Everyone, I recently bought a Honda Pilot 2004/2005 and was advised on this forum to use 5w20 engine oil. That is also the Honda recommendation. But I am just returning from major Total and Mobil stations here in Ibadan, and I am told that 5w20 is not available in Naija. Total said I should use 5w40 while Mobil recommends 5w30. Please I would like to confirm the availability of 5w20 in the country, and if not available, I would like to know the best alternative. I am assuming changing the oil is important and should not be unduly delayed. The car came with an 81k mileage. In addition, can I use the "Honda" filter that I am being offered, or should I be wary of fake? Thanks in advance. |

Car Talk / Now That I Have Bought A Honda Pilot Toks, What Next? by TKH(m): 11:21am On May 08, 2017 |
Good day to you all. Thanks to all those who contributed to my decision to buy a Honda Pilot. I am informed that it's a 2005 model because the tag reads 08/04, which is the beginning of the new manufacturing year. Is that correct?. Anyway, this is my first Toks, my previous two buys (a Baby Boy and EOD) having been Nigerian-used. I would therefore greatly appreciate your advice on the appropriate steps to follow. I mean regarding things like the appropriate engine oil, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, break fluids, and plugs, and whether I should change the present ones. I had expected to change the tires also, but the ones that the vehicle comes with appear strong. I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks once again. |

Car Talk / Honda Pilot Advice Needed by TKH(m): 8:02pm On May 03, 2017 |
Hello All. I have been actively working on getting another car for some time. To cut it short, I found an A-list Tokunbo Honda Pilot today, and it really captured me. The manufacture date is August 2004 but the dealer says it's a 2005 model. It was in practically perfect condition on all counts, in and out, including the back seat video. The silver color would also sit well beside my present silver EOD. I fell so much in love with the car, and the negotiated price of 2.4 m was just perfect for my budget. But there is the usual talk about Honda cars, including common issues and their resale value. In the circumstances, I need all the advice I can get to make my decision, including on management tips if I go for it. My alternative is a Toyota Highlander 2003, which I also found for 2.65 m today. Advice about this alternative would also be well appreciated. Thanks very much. |
Autos / Toyota Highlander Urgently Needed by TKH(m): 7:32pm On Apr 28, 2017 |
Hello Guys, I am in urgent need of a "PERFECT" registered Toyota Highlander. My budget is 1.5 - 2.5 m. Auto transmission, V6, 2003 to 2007 model, preferably silver color. Good Tokunbos that go for somewhere around the top limit specified can also be considered. I am based in Ibadan but cars in Lagos and neighboring cities are within view. Please I need serious responses. Thanks and God bless. |
Investment / I Need A Loan Urgently by TKH(m): 1:57am On Apr 03, 2017 |
Good day. I urgently need a loan of 1.5M over 5 to 10 months. I have approached a finance house but they were not comfortable with the fact that I work with a foreign company. I have a very good credit standing and my earnings and job security are not affected by the economic recession in Nigeria. I am based in Ibadan and also have a virgin landed property in a good area that I could use as collateral, if need be. Please I need serious responses. If there is anyone who could give the loan or has a lead, it would be greatly appreciated. I am willing to give a compensation to anyone who gives a successful lead. Thanks and God bless. |

(NB: I started a new thread with the below, but decided to post the message here also) Good day. This is very serious and I need serious responses. I urgently need a Tokunbo Toyota Highlander 2005 or 2007 model V6 engine auto transmission. However, due to some major expenses, I don't have the full amount in hand. I am wondering whether there are dealers who do something like, 60% deposit and balance over 3 to 6 months. Thanks and God bless. |

Car Talk / Re: Honda Accord Transmission Question by TKH(m): 11:20am On Feb 17, 2017 |
Kashif: Thanks. I learnt that the possible causes of the P0341 code are: Faulty Camshaft Position Sensor Camshaft Position Sensor harness is open or shorted Camshaft Position Sensor circuit poor electrical connection Faulty starter motor Starting system circuit Dead (Weak) battery The mechanic has worked on the camshaft position sensor and cleared the code, but it returned. I was experiencing starter issues and had to change the kick starter when it became problematic. There was considerable improvement but there are still some starting issues and I sometimes have to start it two or three times. What do you think? Kashif: Thanks. It sometimes happens when the AC is off. It has NEVER happened on the highway. It is when I get off the highway to an off road. It first noticed it after a journey from Ibadan to Lagos. I had entered Lagos and encountered a traffic off the highway. It mostly happens when I am on a rough road, as if something is disconnecting. I did the scan this morning. There were two codes: P0341 and P0135. Do they get us anywhere? |

Car Talk / Honda Accord Transmission Question by TKH(m): 8:15pm On Feb 16, 2017 |
Dear Nairalanders, I drive a Honda Accord (EOD) 2003 Model auto-transmission. There is this somewhat frustrating and embarrassing issue that I have experienced for a long time. When driving slowly on a rough road, especially when the AC is on, the gear disengages. The gear stick is still on drive but you can feel that the gear has disengaged. Pressing the throttle only revs the engine without moving the car. I have to shift to park, turn of the engine, restart, and shift back to drive, and it continues driving normally. I may not experience the problem for an extended period, and at other times I may experience it a number of times during a particular drive. I seriously need your enlightenment about this issue as most of the mechanics that I have spoken to don’t seem to know what is wrong. Thanks. |
