Politics / Anambra 2021: It's Time To Enjoy High Diaspora Interventions~ Dr Godwin Maduka by Tkoy(m): 1:11pm On Jun 23, 2021

I WILL ATTRACT 50% OF FUNDS FOR INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT FROM DIASPORA ~ Dr. Godwin Maduka

... _Promises to deploy the best medical brains from USA, Europe and Asia to energize Anambra State World Research Medical Center Umuchukwu_ ...

By: Machie Emmanuel

Anambra State has had a terrible share of seemingly unabating economic decline, but out of the blue, a development that one can only be described as a twist of fate is to be witnessed as Dr. Godwin Maduka (Mr Evidence) announced his intention to join the gubernatorial race.

Interestingly, Dr. Maduka made a clear statement during his courtesy visit to stakeholders across the 3 senatorial districts of Anambra State that in addition to the meager allocations comprising (FAC) and (IGR) that accrues to the state periodically, about 50% of infrastructural funds requirement would be outsourced from the diaspora.

Going by the above statement, which in my view is like one of the Doctor's promises already completed in record time, God Almighty has actually answered ndi Anambra's prayer for a state in the frame and rigalia of a modern country. Little wonder, he promised to build a country in the state like he did in Umuchukwu.

This is indeed a clear evidence of the Doctor's unique personality and character, given that while politicians banks on the amount of Naira to rake away from home, he is rather working out means of attracting foreign currencies and resource persons for speedy and well coordinated development of Anambra State.

In addition to the above, Dr. Godwin Maduka has been compiling list of Anambrarians, one to enable him implement his foundation's family support scheme and secondly, with a view to placing citizens on social security database, which will make them entitled to free medical access, among other goodies.

As the PDP gubernatorial primary edges closer, all statutory, automatic and adhoc delegates are expected to make the best choice out of their individually preferred choices for the sake of providence and the growing population. That choice should be one with the following qualities at least:

1. Sound academic background.
2. Zero record of dubious political antecedents.
3. Zero record of questionable character.
4. Local and international connection.
5. Sustainable wealth accumulated in good faith.
6. Uncommon sense of tolerance and cordial relationship with the masses.
7. Unparalleled evidence of visible record of achievements across sectoral targets.
8. God-fearing but not fanatic.
9. Cheerful giver.
10. Security consciousness.

All these and more are the special qualities that distinguish Dr. Godwin Maduka from other gubernatorial aspirants.

Ndi Anambra, behold the governorship material that will wipe your tears, considering his promise that we shall not experience building the state on a hungry stomach anymore, but would be working and enjoying at the same time.

A vote for Dr. Godwin Maduka is like one cast in gold; a perfect CHOICE for functional democracy.

Politics / Anambra 2021: PDP Blows Hot As Delegates Replies Stakeholders, Back's Maduka by Tkoy(m): 11:45am On Jun 13, 2021
The event that took place at Dr. Godwin Maduka foundation brought so much controversies when the delegates heard that a group was against Dr. Godwin Maduka for giving them a cash prize during his interactive session with them. The delegates therefore expressed there dissatisfaction over the selfish decision made by the PDP stakeholders and threatened to throw surprises against the stakeholders which will eventually give Dr. Godwin Maduka victory at the primaries. In a Statement released by the delegates who chosed to remain anonymous, addressed their concerns about the candidature of Dr. Godwin Maduka and why they should not label him as an Aspirant who doesn't keep to agreement: the statement is as follows,

RE: WHY DOCTOR GODWIN MADUKA CANNOT BE GOVERNOR.

"My names are Chuma Okafor (Not Real Names ). I am a PDP party ward Chairman name of ward withheld, to avoid witch hunters.
I was surfing the internet and stumbled on an article captioned "Why Doctor Godwin Maduka Cannot be Governor" I actually got interested and eager to read and understand the reason for such assertion, so it can help me in forming an opinion about the aspirant who could earn my vote and support at the upcoming party primaries.

I have analysed the article in reference and arrived to a conclusion that this is a clear case of man's inhumanity to man. It is obvious that some people are just irrational by nature. Let me remind Raymond Ozoji who is unfortunately the author of such baseless analysis and his so called Independent Leaders Forum that journalism and activism actually transcends beyond personal or group interest.

Mr. Raymond if I may ask you, Who made you the paparazzi for the PDP, that you now do the work of a useless watch dog..? Where were your ILF when these same delegates got abandoned during the days of turmoil for the party,.? When they re even ashamed to be called PDP excos, where was ILF when the delegates, after helping most of the federal and State Lawmakers to victory they abandoned them after the win, only to empower their personal aides and coordinators,..? Leaving the party executives with nothing, only for few of them to turn around now that they have joined the contest for governorship and start giving attention to the delegates again. It's such a pity that a human being would come up with such useless and wicked article. I am not surprised, because it is unique with electioneering period, for different kind of scammers, blackmailers and fraudulent persons or group to spring up from different corners devising different means to rip off aspirants. I was confidently informed that a delegation of this very ILF was seen at the Dr. Godwin Maduka Foundation seeking to have an audience with Dr. Godwin Maduka, this audience was granted, but I guess their proposal which would have been smelling of greed and selfishness was not bought by the keen gentleman, and few moments later they released this blackmailing article just to tarnish the growing popularity of Okosisi amongst the party executives and stakeholders. It is very unfortunate to say the least, that such evil minded persons still exist.
If your ILF is really interested in the success of the party and ways to see the party to victory, it should have directed its energy to sorting out the squabble for the state party leadership instead of Poking were their is no cause for alarm.
To the stakeholders and aspirants who sat, thought and issued such directive, I find it hard to understand what your true intentions are for us. How will you discourage aspirants from impacting the lives of these delegates..? Do you know how Long they have suffered without reward,.? Do you know how much these gifts has revived the party..? Do you know how much impact it has created to the members of other parties and how it has advertised the party as the beautiful bride amongst others..?

It's such a pity that these stakeholders rake in millions in the name of consultations by these aspirants but they insist that the delegates are been fed with peanuts, I ask, where is thy conscience.? You preach against money politics as if you yourselves are saints to the said crime. Most of the so called stakeholders that met and concluded on such agreement have been exchanging huge amount of money backdoor. Okosisi's only supposed crime is why should he impact the lives of the grassroots too, he should have fed them peanuts too, just like others. Let me tell you my fellow delegates, the only mission they tend to achieve is to keep us all in bondage, by giving us peanuts thereby belittling us and rendering us incapacitated without a hope of better days with the party, which will affect the enthusiastic spirit with which we are heading to the polls, thereby causing some people to betray the party when offered a little amount of money. My fellow delegates this has shown us that some self-acclaimed Stakeholders and Leaders of the party do not have our common interest at heart.

This unfolding information has made us more determined to enthrone a man who has Love for the grassroot party members at heart. For your information, the said gifts were from the Dr. Godwin Maduka Foundation which is an entirely on it's own. The Dr. Godwin Maduka foundation has been existing decades before Dr. Godwin Maduka felt the urge to join the guber race. The motto of the Foundation is Humanity First, which is the reason why they try the much they can to impact the Lives of the needy directly or indirectly. They have achieved this by building houses for the indigent amongst us, road construction, scholarships and so many other social and infrastructural developments, This has been the stock in trade for the Foundation. While Dr. Godwin Maduka might be the founder of that foundation, do not forget that he has a board of directors, meaning that his decision is not final, as there must be contributions from other members of the board before reaching a final conclusion. Dr. Godwin Maduka insisted and sticked to the agreement reached at the meeting with the stakeholders and leaders of the party, by appreciating the invited delegates with the Sum of N3000. But the Dr. Godwin Maduka foundation after accessing the atmosphere felt the need to motivate us (the party) by empowering us with the token of N50,000 each. Please can someone tell me, where the offense of this fine gentleman Dr. Godwin Maduka lies..?

The coming days would be ecstatic as we keep watching the activities of those who intend to rule us, just as the D day draws near. We the party delegates are wiser now and cannot be bought with just mere money gifts, but we watch the intentions and antecedents of every aspirant and at the end we assure you that our collective vote will go for the best man.

Thank you all as I expect the Independent Leaders Forum, to withdraw this unhealthy write up and tender an apology to the accused and the party in general, because this their post will create more harm to the party than they know.
Then I also expect our Party Leaders and Stakeholders who met and agreed on such wicked and retarded decision, to as a matter of urgency apologize to the delegates and the party or else we begin to see them as enemies of the party. Better days ahead, he added.

Politics / Dr Godwin Maduka: Give Me PDP Ticket By June 26 & The Election Will Be a Win Win by Tkoy(m): 2:50pm On May 28, 2021
Give Me PDP Ticket By June 26th And The General Election Will Come Off As Carnival ~ Godwin Maduka

....declares self "24 carate Igbo Man" with capacity to upturn the setbacks of ndị Anambra....

By Tony Ezike

An illustrious son of Umuchukwu community and promising PDP gubernatorial aspirant Dr Godwin Maduka (Okosisi Orumba) has interfaced with zonal stakeholders of the party at Anaedo Hall Nnewi, Fegge Recreation Club Housing Estate Onitsha, and Marble Arc Hotel Awka from 26th to 27th May 2021, in continuation of his campaign to secure the guber ticket and proceed to win the general election for the party.

The number 1 pain doctor visited the 3 Senatorial Districts in company of the traditional ruler of Umuchukwu community Igwe Barr Kenneth Okechukwu Maduka, his campaign DG Hon Mike Joe Onwudinjo, amongst other prominent members of the team who are professionals in various fields of endeavour.

The Harvard trained professor was consistent in informing his audience at the three locations that Anambra South deserves a shot at the governorship position this time, having showcased her retinue of eminently qualified aspirants, as well as the logistics required to prosecute the elections from inter party to intraparty stages. He urged anyone who thinks that the zone has nobody to step out and challenge him on any grounds whatsoever so he can humiliate him accordingly.

Dr Maduka who promised to bring development from the diaspora to Anambra State stated that about 50% of the resources for state development will be raised from the diaspora with his expertise, connections and goodwill. He assured the party delegates that the general elections will be won for PDP on June 26th and not November 6th, 2021 if they give him the party ticket because the days beyond June 26th will be just like carnival as long as he has the party ticket.

He reiterated his resolve to establish emergency centers and university satellite campuses across the 21 LGAs to broaden the healthcare and academic capacity of the state. He also assured his audience of his potentials to secure funds externally into the state coffers, while condemning the corrupt attitude of some public officers who are busy evacuating funds meant for internal development to foreign countries.

Okosisi decried the antidemocratic approach of some politicians who induce party delegates and the electorates with material influence, oath taking or outright intimidation, warning that he will not hesitate to humiliate any of such persons with whatever they come up with henceforth. This decision according to him was necessary to put a stop to the deceitful tendencies of such politicians across party lines.

Speaking further, Dr Maduka informed his audience that he is "Mr Evidence" considering over 100 infrastructural projects completed by him which according to him are critical for electioneering campaigns, arguing that non of the aspirants across party lines can match his achievements in academics, philanthropy, social investment, infrastructural development and preparedness to reinvent the state.

Some Of The Areas Covered During His Speech are as follows:

EDUCATION:
"I built primary and secondary schools in Umuchukwu" ~ Dr Maduka
Additionally, he promised to implement free education to the letter from primary to secondary school which he said includes excercise books, arguing that it is wrong to declare free education during political campaign, only to extort money from the students thereafter, via other means.

SECURITY:
"I built police station, civil defense and SARS office, and was about bringing home a police college when politicians frustrated my efforts, now I want to stop begging them, do all that myself because I know the importance of security and I'm very prepared to tackle insecurity head-on"

JUDICIARY:
"I built and furnished a federal high court and judges quarters for effective dispensation of justice in the state"

RELIGION:
"I built Catholic, Anglican and Pentecostal churches. Built parish houses and monastery, so that light will triumph over darkness as people pray in those places. Those facilities are undoubtedly the secret of my steady progress"

COMMERCE:
"Apart from air and road transportation in my manifesto which will be confronted holistically, my administration will work towards opening up the River Niger to activate the Onitsha seaport through the Atlantic ocean, so that our traders would be clearing their goods within our domain"

HEALTHCARE:
"I have already built a 17 storeys World medical research center and since God has blessed Anambra State with the number 1 Pain Doctor in the world, the best way to utilize this rare gift is to build and equip the requisite facility that'll provide topnotch healthcare services to Anambrarians, Nigerians, Africans and the world at large"

"As a certified and reputable world-class pharmacist, I will establish a standard drug manufacturing facility whereby drugs with better potency than what we're being dispensed with currently will be produced and distributed through established trading channels like Onitsha head bridge drug market, as well as other regulated outlets, to save more lives through proper drug administration"

"Every citizen of Anambra State in an emergency situation must be treated first as he or she should have access to medical treatment given such situation. Any doctor who refuses to treat such patient to the point of death will face disciplinary action from the state"

INCLUSIVENESS:
"I want to be the governor of all 179 communities in Anambra State because it is inhuman, irrational and condemnable for any governor to convert public mandate to personal apparatus and concentrate on his community alone. That can never happen under my watch as governor. My government will put an end to financial rascality and administrative irresponsibility. Enough is enough!"

AGRICULTURE:
"My administration will introduce agric grants to people willing to establish mechanized farm clusters to do livestock and embark on massive production of food items, taking advantage of our vast arable lands across the state. This farmer's grant among other schemes shall be applied to revolutionize agriculture in the state"

STOMACH INFRASTRUCTURE:
"My administration will structure democracy dividends to accommodate people's welfare to the extent that each citizen of Anambra State must have social security number with which such person can assess the full benefits of our democratic vision. Gone are the days when governors tend to concentrate on either provision of basic amenities or stomach infrastructure, I will combine both as equally important. I pray to God to give me the opportunity to fulfill my avowed commitment to Ndi Anambra, he added".

ANAMBRA: Dr. Godwin Maduka promises to pull foreign contacts to rebuild Anambra

By Mimi Chiadikobi

A leading governorship aspirant in the November 6 election on the platform of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Godwin Maduka has advised the electorate to shun all forms of political inducement.

He urged them to view such as distractions worthy of ruining their future and that of the State.

Addressing party faithful on Monday shortly after concluding tour of the 21 LGAs of the state, Maduka pledged to pull all his foreign contacts to rebuild the state if elected.

He challenged the delegates to make a difference in the primary come June 26 and to prove that the party was really for the people and not elites alone by casting their votes to him.

He further urged the electorates to vote based on conviction of the candidate who was more qualified to win the election and can guarantee equal developments in all Local Government Areas of the state without preferences.

He said, “If PDP delegates play the right politics and vote candidates with evidence of developmental projects in the state, I will engage them in the management of all my gigantic investment.

“ If I am elected PDP flag bearer, I promise you all in this state a new lease of life. All the senatorial zones will be given a face lift, I will pull all my foreign contact to come rebuild Anambra.

“I have lived, schooled, worked in America. I have got my taste and am an employer of labour in the US, what will happen here is going to be a ‘child’s play’ to what I have done in America. Please give me your votes to serve you better.”

“I was touched to go into politics to right lots of political wrongs going on in the state. I’m ready to transform Anambra with the type of investment I have made in United states of America.

“Before venturing into politics, I had tried on personal strength to give back to the society that gave life to me, a visit to Umuchukwu will convince you that am a brand developer.” He said.

He enjoins PDP delegates not to disappoint Ndi Anambra by giving their votes to a wrong candidate. Umuchukwu and its environs are evidential of self made man but with your votes the ideas are in built, it would be on higher level with the help of experts in all sector of the economy, Anambra will bounce again.

Politics / Most Of The Medications We Use In Nigeria Are Poison- Dr. Godwin Maduka by Tkoy(m): 5:46pm On May 19, 2021
... vows to overhaul healthcare in Anambra State

Raph Udeh

Top PDP aspirant and foremost pain Doctor in the world, Dr. Godwin Maduka has continued to make a shocking revelation about the substandard quality of medication administered on patients in Nigeria with the caution that if this trend continued unabated, common and treatable diseases will continue to become fatal.

He lamented that the COVID 19 pandemic exposed the gross inadequacy of modern medical equipment available in our hospitals, basic equipment like oxygen plants etc.

Dr. Godwin Maduka stated this at interactive sessions with delegates in 14 LGAs of Anambra on how best to position the party for victory during the forthcoming Anambra Governorship election slated for 6th November , 2021.

He charged party faithful, particularly delegates to make the right decision and selection during primaries, a candidate who not only understands the deplorable situation of things but has the capacity and the will power to rescue Anambra from the brink, restore her glory and set her on the road to unparalleled development should be elected.

He reiterated his resolve to change the narratives in the healthcare sector by driving the kind of reforms that will attract critical players in the sector from all over the world. He reminded the delegates that a sound and robust health sector is a precursor to an economically vibrant state, for health is wealth. He assured delegates that he was the only candidate with global network and the concomitant will to change the face of Anambra State and make it a poster child for innovations and performance.

He recounted how recently he took some of the medicines produced in Nigeria to his lab in the US and discovered that most of the active ingredients were not in their right proportion, thereby affecting their efficacy.

Dr Maduka stated that part of his mission in Anambra is to make the state a hub for medical tourism and a top investment destination in Nigeria.

According to him, "Changing the narrative in the healthcare sector is easy because this is our natural habitat. We have done it in the US with our six hospitals there. Without sounding boastful , I'm one of the critical players in American health sector. You have seen with your eyes too, what I'm trying to do in healthcare sector in Nigeria with the International Medical Research Institute, Umuchukwu which will be the most sophisticated in this part of the world with the kind of state of the art medical equipment we want to install. You can also attest to our resolve and our capacity by what we have done with Trinity International hospital Umuchukwu and the caliber of people we have sent abroad for training and all of these are done in my private capacity and personal resources. Imagine how much more we can achieve when we mount the saddle of leadership in the state initiating, shaping, directing and implementing governmental policies."

DR. GODWIN MADUKA SAYS HE WILL INTRODUCE MEDICAL TOURISM IN ANAMBRA STATE.

He stated the aforementioned in an interactive session with delegates from Anambra East in Otuocha on Sunday 16th May 2021.

By Dr. Emezie Madu

Dr. Godwin Maduka explained that Medical tourism will reduce capital flight from the state and attract foreign capital flows and foreign direct investments.

DR. Maduka promised to build emergency rooms in all the local Government areas to assist people with health challenges such as cardiac arrest and seizures that need immediate care. He complained about situations where people are buried alive because of poor health facilities and delays in accessing adequate health services.

Okosisi Orumba urged party faithful from Omambala to over look sentiments by voting for a candidate who is ready to transform the State or wait for 8 years of complaints. The God fearing Okosisi Orumba who led the delegates in a brief prayer session when he was about to conclude his speech asked God to use him to make Anambra State, the envy of other states in Nigeria.

The delegates who could not contain their happiness for having Okosisi in their midst assured him of full support because he is more distinguished than other Aspirants.

Earlier, Dr. Godwin Maduka had celebrated Sunday Mass with St. Joseph the worker Catholic Church Unizik Temp Site Awka.

Politics / Anambra Debt Profile Rises As State Govt Spent N227.673M For An Airport Test Run by Tkoy(m): 9:51am On May 03, 2021
Anambra State international and cargo airport have really been given a lot of Media attention as it will be a legacy project if properly managed and completed. But one thing the people of Anambra are seriously asking is nothing but the expenses or Budget that was mapped out for the said project. We have been getting submissions from different quarters as some political class were saying that Anambra State did not spend any peny on the said project while the common man in our community is really crying on the economic consequences of Anambra State Debt profile. In a video debate in 2017, the Governor was captured stating that the Airport project will not cost Anambra State any kobo, that a chinese company will take charge of all the expenses as a means of investing in Anambra State.

In 2020, issues were raised on misappropriation of funds in the State as many people were calling on the attention of the Governor to address the people of Anambra State. In response to the call by Ndi Anambra to Governor Willie Obiano, he attributed the said funds worth 2.2million Dollars to a map out fund meant to sponsor the building of the proposed Anambra State international and cargo airport. Therefore, going contrary to what he said during the last Governorship election debate in 2017.

Ndi Anambra is in dear need of an international Airport, but statistics shows that the said airport project have squandered funds More that it should be in other civilized world.

Moreover, the Airport project is a nice one for Ndi Anambra but has many political undertones which is affecting the standard of the Airport. APGA led Government have seen the said project as a strategy to clear the anomalies committed by this administration ably led by Gov. Willie Obiano. It is quite unfortunate that the political drive pushed them to go ahead in squandering more funds by hosting a heavy test run flight landing on the said Airport amidst completion.

Who will believe that Anambra State Government spent N227.673 million just for an Airport show. This is still surprising to many people in this State despite the high debt profile accumulated by this Willie Obiano led administration.

Let us start with the beautiful write-up by Okoye Robinson Chibuzo on Anambra International Airport.

“There’s nowhere in the world that a test flight goes with such fanfare.
We love wasting resources on frivolities.
The Airport isn’t completed yet and a test flight is a technical part of the construction of an airport. It’s just like running a pile test, and as such, does not warrant such spending, he added”.

Some agreed with the statement made by Chibuzor, stating that All those that attended the test run should be ashamed of themselves for not asking about the details of the said International and cargo airport.

Now look at what that single exercise cost you and the State at large

Money to FAAN for the approval of that show 87 million.
Money to Air peace for their services, including flying an aircraft to Umueri and back and the hours the plane was on the ground: 59 Million Naira.
Money for the mobilization of people from the 21 local government to attend at 413,000 per Local Govt: N8, 673,000
Money to selected personalities for logistics 12 m
Money for press coverage and airing, which include the special package being prepared for Channels, Silver birds and AIT: 35 m
Money signed for security: 21 m
Money signed as logistics: 5 m
Total is N227.673 Million Naira

Imagine N227.673 million just for show. Would they now tell Ndi Anambra when another plane will land? The Euphoria will soon die down and people will become reasonable again and begin to ask or observe about the airport as follows:
Does it justify the squandering of 75 billion Naira?
Does it justify the debt of over 200 billion Naira?
Does it justify the debt of over 100 billion to contractors?
Over 50 canopies just for a test run?

After the euphoria is achieved, the very poor governance of the state will keep staring us in the face. Roads in worse condition, no new industries, some shares of Anambra in Hero beer sold, sale of Commissioners’ quarters and other assets continuing. Gratuities not paid since 2017

Ndi Anambra is calling on the attention of Gov. Willie Obiano and his team of economic experts on the red flag which the state is facing urging them to retrace their steps as the State is in great debt.

Politics / Anambra 2021: Chances Of PDP's 4 Top Aspirants by Tkoy(m): 7:20am On May 03, 2021
By Christian Okpala

Come 6th of November, 2021, the battle for the destiny of Anambra State for the next four years will reach its fever pitch. In preparation for the D-Day, different parties are already gearing up for the party primaries which will eventually throw up the party flag bearer. Even though PDP has been out of power in Anambra State since 2006, the State has remained a traditional PDP State and dominant too, with several frontline and influential politicians. The party also have a greater number of the National Assembly members who represent the State in Abuja.

The air of zoning is blowing ferociously across major parties, PDP inclusive . Major personalities in the party like Mr Peter Obi, the former Governor of the State and Vice Presidential candidate of the Party in the last general election, Oseloka Obaze who was the party flag bearer in the last election and Mr Osita Chidoka as well as influential party leaders are receptive to this idea and have also alluded to this fact in their recent comments. In the interest of justice, equity, inclusiveness and popular demand, the party will much likely uphold zoning as a factor and go south. It follows therefore that Sen.Uche Ekwunife, Chief Obiora Okonkwo and Hon.Tony Nwoye, though eminently qualified, are clearly out of the picture. In the case of Senator Ekwunife, who has the privilege of coming from the south by birth and belonging to the central by marriage, while her qualifications and achievements cannot be argued, the amiable Senator started her long political career from the Anambra central senatorial zone, representing the people of the zone, first as a member of the House of Representatives, and then a Senator. She cannot now lay claim to her Anambra Southern roots and use it for political advantage. Politics is nothing without principles. It is about integrity and fairness on her part. It is even self contradictory to vie for a position zoned to the people of Anambra south while retaining her seat as a Senator representing Anambra central. On the part of the party, politics should reflect inclusion and balance. It is an art of compromise in a bid to aggregate all interests. Nobody takes it all. Anambra PDP has always been haunted by the inability of the party leadership to harmonize all interests and harness them properly during the elections. And so most of the times, stakeholders who are aggrieved with the process leading to the primaries work against the party in the election proper. It is very important that the party gets its acts together because this election holds much promise for the party.

We will now analyse the candidacy of four major contestants on the platform of PDP and their chances.

MR Godwin Ezeemo
He is a fine gentleman, and industrialist who understands and embodies the principle of Aku luo uno. After sojourning abroad for years, he came back to invest and develop his community. On the political scene, he has been a serial contender over the years. Unfortunately and for no explainable reason, his candidacy has refused to gain traction. Ezeemo has lost steam. Probably the long stretch of contention has taken a hold of him and waned his popularity. Despite his beautiful intentions and track record as an entrepreneur, the electorate do not consider him a force anymore. Again, because of the nature of political campaigns in a State like Anambra and the huge financial war chest it requires, the fatigue that attends his campaign is understandable.

Dr Godwin Maduka
He appears to be the beautiful pride of PDP, with a lot of popular appeal and an electrifying personality that warms up a room by his sheer presence. He is for a fact, the most educated among all the aspirants. In terms of international contacts and network, he is well positioned and ranks high. He is arguably the only candidate coming in to the contention on the strength of his achievements for his people with his personal resources. And when he set out to transform his rural rustic community and make it a city shinning on the hill, politics was not even in his mind. It was sheer selfless love. Though a new entrant in the political arena, he has already acquainted himself with the pros and cons of Anambra political process, building bridges with power players and making them buy into his vision for the party and for the State. Anambra has many political philanthropists, people who indulge in the act of giving because they curry for votes. Dr Maduka is an example of a philanthropist in the true sense of the word, sparing no cost in his avowed mission of developing his community and empowering its human capital with his personal funds, while expecting nothing in return. He is unarguably the biggest philanthropist Anambra has produced since the creation of the State. He also appears to be the joker of Anambra diasporans who find in him the right person to prove the capacity and competence of Ndi Anambra in diaspora. Furthermore, the fact that he remains untainted by the murky waters of the Nigerian politics is a plus to his candidacy. He comes without any baggage, unfettered and free from any soiled past. Aside the fact that he is a self made man, he has no Godfather and is self financed, and therefore has no strings that will impede his ability to deliver on the job and affect his mission. Since joining the PDP Godwin Maduka has been one of the biggest financiers of the party, probably second after Mr Peter Obi. He recently donated 25 sienna vehicles to the party to cover the 21 local governments and the party Secretariat. Aptly dubbed the lion of Africa, he evokes fear among other contenders in other political parties because he is at home with the masses at the grassroots, the Anambra religious class and the elites. Recently, he has been seen commissioning various individual projects across the state. He has continued to sell his candidacy to the delegates of the party across all the local governments as well as the leadership of the party. If the party decides to present a consensus candidate for the general election, Dr Maduka's chances are very high because he is largely seen as a neutral candidate without ties to any party bloc, and with the force, the means, the energy and the capacity to turn around the fortunes of the party at the elections and emerge victorious.

MR Valentine Ozigbo
Val is a gentleman and a technocrat per excellence. An urbane personality with an unassuming attitude, he is a man of letters, with a wealth of managerial experience from the private sector. His years of employment in corporate environment saw him rise through the ranks to become the CEO of Transcorp Hotels PLC and later president of Transcorp Group. He oversaw the business expansion of the company, facility upgrade, mergers and acquisition as well as the general management of the company. He has garnered several awards for his imprints in the hospitality business and left when the ovation was loudest for a shot at the top political position in his home state. Val though a new entrant, is selling his message of "Ka Anambra chawapu" across the length and breadth of the State, reaching out to all stakeholders . His relatively young age is also an advantage to his appeal as a candidate. In an era where the call for youth participation in politics is reaching a deafening crescendo, he is seen as a bridge between the old and the young. However, his candidacy is tainted by his ties with corporate goons and economic hitmen. Anambra's experience with godfatherism in the past makes ndi Anambra to be wary of pitching their tents with any political figure who seem to have such supporting structure. The electorate see his candidacy as a proxy project for some entrenched corporate interests which may lead to mortgaging the assets of the State in order to accommodate such interests. Words on the streets are that those interests are not necessarily from the State. Indeed, Anambra cannot go back to the days when few men held the State to ransom, dictated the political development and stifled the economic progress. Again, despite Val' s electoral appeal, some of his ideas appear elitist and bogus and may be a hard sell to the grassroots. His personality seem to be soft and he doesn't exude necessary confidence and will power that is needed to wrestle for the top seat when push comes to a shove. He seems not to have the skin to withstand the pressures when the political climate becomes charged and tensed up. PDP requires someone with a gentle mien and a steely resolve, someone who can stand on his words even if the heavens totters and the earth reels, for the battle is not for the faint of heart.

HON Chris Azubogu
Chris is an experienced politician and a three times representative of his constituency. He commands immense respect in his constituency. Among the crop of House of Reps members from Anambra, Chris is arguably the best performer. He has attracted several federal projects to his constituency and has ably represented them, to the admiration of even his opponents. He is also a ranking house of reps member and commands enormous respect amongst his peers in the National Assembly. However, over the years, Chris popularity and hero status has not gone beyond his primary constituency. Beyond Nnewi, his name doesn't ring a bell. He is , to a large extent, unknown in the minds of the electorates from other zones. Politics is a game of numbers. It requires spread, influence and network across all the three senatorial zones, in every local government, every town, every ward and every hamlet. While his financial war chest needed to prosecute the campaign cannot be ascertained, the party hierarchy are also worried about the formidable challenger from his native Nnewi who is also gunning for the same position. A politician is nothing without his base. It makes a better strategic sense to choose from a zone like the old Aguata area where a block vote can be easily guaranteed.

This is the best chance for PDP to regain its pride of place in Anambra's political firmament. The party in power has obviously lost focus. The people are disenchanted. The PDP can step in and salvage the situation. But the winning starts from the primaries. If they harken to the voice of reason and present a candidate based on the permutations stated above, the top seat is theirs for the taking.

Politics / Anambra 2021: It Is The Right Time For The Right Choice by Tkoy(m): 4:50pm On Apr 28, 2021
WITH THE CATCHING ENDS THE PLEASURE OF THE CHASE:IT IS THE RIGHT TIME FOR THE RIGHT CHOICE.

BY BUCHI OKAFOR

This outreach is never about one person or even a particular election, it is about the future of our state and building a greater Anambra that is hopeful, inclusive, and outstanding. We have seen that Ndi Anambra need better hands than what we have to salvage and positively transform the state.

Dr. Godwin Maduka believes in a greater Anambra State , likewise you and I. If you believe in a better Anambra, then you must show courage by supporting someone who will protect the interest of Anambrarians at the State level and that is none other than Dr.Godwin Maduka (Okosisi Orumba).

In addition, Dr. Godwin Maduka in the saddle will not tolerate excuses for non performances and half measures because Ndi Anambra are tired of lackluster performances, especially poor governance.

Dr. Maduka's blue print is second to none as developmental projects would be in place rather than in books. Succinctly it’s performance galore and not promises, it’s positive transformation, actions and not words, that Ndi Anambra want at this point in time. Fortunately that is what Okosisi Orumba stands for.

Futhermore, Dr. Maduka's tenure as Governor will ensure competence, trust and responsiveness. In conclusion, I am optimistic that tomorrow could be better when it’s built on credible values that lasts.

Politics / Anambra 2021: Ndi Anambra Help Is On The Way; A Look At DR. Godwin Maduka by Tkoy(m): 7:44am On Apr 28, 2021
NDI ANAMBRA HELP IS ON THE WAY: A LOOK
AT WHAT DR. GODWIN MADUKA IS BRINGING ON THE TABLE.

By Franklin Chinemelu

The recent events that have taken place in Anambra State and even in the Country at large is a clear indication that we need a leader that has what it takes to turn things around. Some critics would describe the economic situation and the high rate of insecurity in our state today as hopeless, however that's not the basis for this literature. Here we are more interested in passing the message of hope.

Therefore, the easiest way out of this mess we find ourselves today is to pay attention to the key areas of the economy for example Agriculture, Energy, Transportation, Education, Health, etc. We need a leader that will develop the aforementioned key areas simultaneously and haven taken time to study all the aspirants and what they have to offer Dr. Godwin Maduka emerged as the only one who have proven himself beyond doubt based on his antecedents that he has the capacity to do things differently this time.

Honestly, you can agree with me that things has to be done differently so as to achieve a positive result we can not be doing things the same way and expect a different result. Dr. Godwin Maduka is a man that once met a hopeless situation and turned it into the biggest success story. His vision on Education, Energy, Transportation, Health, Agriculture when fully implemented will change the story overnight.

At this critical stage we do not have to gamble with our dear State, we must give the cap to whom it fits. The economy is at the point of total collapse and their is no room for sentiments any longer, Dr. Godwin Maduka has done it home and abroad and he will do it again, let us support his aspiration for a better Anambra State.

Politics / Anambra 2021: Dr G.Maduka To Reverse Anambra Poor Foreign Direct Investment Rank by Tkoy(m): 8:42am On Mar 27, 2021
DOCTOR GODWIN MADUKA TO REVERSE ANAMBRA POOR FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENT RANKING

By Ibe Shadrach

The recently released figures on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) into the country by the Nigeria Bureau of Statistics and the Central Bank of Nigeria shows that Anambra State performed poorly, even among the states in the Southeast Region.

According to the annual report, Lagos emerged as the top FDI destination in Nigeria with $8.3 billion. Other states that ranked high are Abia with $56 million, Niger $16.4 million, and Ogun with $13.4 million respectively.

Sadly, despite its huge investment potential and opportunities, Anambra State with $10.2 million is grouped alongside Kaduna with $4.03 million, Sokoto $2.5 million, and Kano State with $2.4 million.

Doctor Godwin Maduka, in his recent interaction with the media, noted that the figures above do not speak well of Anambra: The Light of the Nation! He wondered why a state synonymous with commerce and industries, with clusters of industrial hubs in places like Nnewi, Onitsha, Awka and others as well as the state with the highest number of millionaires and billionaires in Nigeria is not attracting a commensurate FDI.

While discussing his all-inclusive 10-point agenda for the transformation of the state, the frontline PDP aspirant for the November 6 Anambra governorship election incisively outlined his plans to eliminate the factors driving away local and international investors from the state. His reason being that FDI and economic growth and the general wellbeing of the citizens are positively interdependent.

He also presented his strategies to unlock the untapped huge FDI potential of the state, which includes running a transparent, purposeful and dependable government. Others are provision of enabling environment for both foreign and domestic investors and businesses to thrive in Anambra State.

Investors in the health sector, tourism and entertainment, manufacturing and industrial parks and free trade zone development, power, agriculture and food production, waste management and recycling, water and air transportation amongst others will be provided with world-class infrastructural supports besides tax incentives and adequate security. Also, the overall improvement of the ease of doing business in the state to make it the number one investment destination is included in the economic development blueprint.

Doctor Maduka seeks to lift the state higher and make life better for the citizens by stimulating robust economic development and increased employment and economic prosperity for the citizens through improved and constant capital flow and FDI inflows into the state.

Additionally, huge human resource development and acquisition of new technologies that come with FDI, manufacturing, exports of finished goods from Nnewi, Onitsha and other industrial clusters in the state as well as opening of new economic frontiers in hitherto neglected rural areas are all part of his agenda to make Anambra the new commercial capital of Nigeria.

Politics / Anambra 2021: Anambra State Needs A Security Conscious Governor by Tkoy(m): 11:38am On Mar 22, 2021
ANAMBRA STATE NEEDS A SECURITY CONSCIOUS GOVERNOR.

By; Emeka Aniagoh.

In Nigeria of today, insecurity seems to be on the increase.
Coming down to Anambra state, the state seems to be falling back to the way it was before His Excellency Peter Obi took the bull by the horn by getting rid of the bad elements terrorizing the state and making the state uncomfortable for them.
He went further to change the motto from HOME FOR ALL to LIGHT OF THE NATION.

As November 6th approaches, ndi Anambra needs to narrow down their search for a Governor to one of the aspirants eyeing Agu Awka who has demonstrated his capacity to secure the state.

His name is Dr. Godwin Maduka. In his quest to secure his environment he single handedly built a standard Divisional Police Headquarters for security, personally inaugurated by former I.G, Mike Okiro.
He constructed a world class barracks for the civil defense staff, donated Innosson security trucks to the police and other sister agencies.

All these were done in his private capacity, including taking our youths off the street by offering scholarships, providing take off capital for buisness owners and donation of tricycles/motorcycles to the unemployed and underprivileged members of his community.

He had really demonstrated his commitment in ensuring a secured environment, let's support him.
Verily verily I say unto us, he'll not disappoint us as a Governor.

Politics / Dr. Godwin Maduka's Economic Blue Prints And Achievements Carve A Niche For Him by Tkoy(m): 7:41am On Mar 19, 2021
DR.GODWIN MADUKA'S ECONOMIC BLUE PRINTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS CARVE A NICHE FOR HIM MORE THAN OTHER ASPIRANTS

By Godwin Offor

In recent times, public discourse in Anambra expectedly centre on the potential replacement for Anambra Governor Willie Obiano.

Dr. Godwin Maduka who happens to be one of the potential replacements under the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party in Anambra State has rolled out a well articulated and balanced 10-point blue print which when put into motion simultaneously, will tremendously transform the state as one of the economic power-houses in our country.

He envisioned a state where the health care system will be top notch. Agriculture, second to none and it is important to note that the Iroko of our time will equally accord immediate attention to Women and Youth empowerment.

The evidence to prove if he can do more when it comes to empowering both women and youths can be seen through his achievements within his community Umuchukwu which speak volumes because with the construction of two churches, one each for Anglicans and Catholics, a Trinity Hospital and Maternity Home, standard houses for widows and the poor, he has demonstrated the zeal to uplift life in Anambra State.

According to him, Anambra youths will also be equipped with ICT skills on technology manufacturing, robotics, artificial intelligence through the establishment of ICT hub centers, all in a bid to improve the technology and digital economy of the state.

His scholarship awards to indigent students remain an astounding demonstration of charity to many lovers of philanthropic exercise.

It is our sacred mandate to give him the maximum support in his genuine quest to lead Anambra State to greater heights.

Politics / Unprecedented Infrastructural Development In Anambra State- Dr Godwin Maduka by Tkoy(m): 3:40pm On Mar 18, 2021
Wednesday March 17, 2021

UNPRECEDENTED INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT IN ANAMBRA STATE, DRIVEN BY A BUMPER GROWTH IN INTERNALLY GENERATED REVENUE- DR. GODWIN MADUKA.

By Tochukwu Ilo.

Ours is a state in serious need of massive infrastructural development. It spans from construction of standard roads down to asphalted streets with street lights. We deserve and must have a properly planned and religiously operated waste/environmental management system which guarantees healthy living for the Citizens.

In the face of recession, wise leaders think inwards to identify internal strengths and opportunities that will form not only a survival ground but a reliable growth catalyst. A well planned and managed social friendly internally generated Revenue, IGR system is the key.

We have the potential and can actually increase the state IGR to a monthly minimum average of N2b and N24b annually and guaranteed. This represents over 100% growth from the current position. The target is to achieve an annual IGR figure of N36bn.

The good feature of this new system is that it will be a tax payment by the relatively well-to-do commercials, with no economic challenge to the poor of the society.

Like in every society world over, the infrastructural development we desire in Anambra state is guaranteed by the revenue we can generate within and this will not only be steady, but will be improved strategically.

This growth in IGR is synonymous with growth in infrastructural development with no percentage variance.

It is time to build Anambra State with a mindset that it is and will always be, Humanity First.

Politics / Anambra 2021: The Issues We Are Not Discussing- Dr. Godwin Maduka by Tkoy(m): 10:42am On Mar 12, 2021
By Dr Godwin Maduka

I am onye Anambra, and today, I write not as a person with partisan interest, but as a concerned citizen, or what our people call "nwa afo". I write as a citizen with civic consciousness who understands that more often than not, especially in the Nigerian political space, electioneering activities tend to obscure the real issues affecting the society. Those issues get glossed over without critical appraisal and are lost in the din of campaign activities. And so elections come and go, but those issues still remain because like Newton's first law of motion states, an object will remain at rest or move in a constant velocity until it is acted upon by an external force.

It is another election season in my dear State, and we should be more concerned about the discussions we are not having. Building a modern society takes conscious effort, meticulous planning and dedicated execution. It doesn't just happen. Anambra is no exception.

Anambra State ranks fourth in bank deposit mobilization in Nigeria after Lagos, Abuja and Rivers State. But access to bank credit is so low. Access to finance remains one of the largest constraints to micro-small-medium enterprises (MSMEs). Increased credit made available to businesses have a multiplier effect on their performances and helps to boost their productivity. Unfortunately, while our people have huge deposits in banks because of our large informal sector, second only to Lagos, only a fraction of that money is given out as loans to businesses domiciled in Anambra. Access to credits has proven to be a stimulus for robust economies. More jobs are created, wages grow and living standards improve. What can we do to change this situation?

On the ease of doing business, Onitsha ranks 23 among 36 cities according to an index. From Upper Iweka down to Main Market axis, street boys hold people doing their legitimate businesses hostage, demanding for money under different guises. It is an extremely hostlie environment, and only people of steely resolve survive it. That is shameful. On dealing with construction permits, Anambra comes 28. On registration of properties, Anambra is 32, and on enforcement of contracts, Anambra is 30. Can something be done about this poor outing so as to make Anambra a top business destination instead of a place we travel to for christmas and burials.

Every year, we churn out graduates from our schools. 70% of them leave Anambra for other cities in search of jobs. We provide workforce for other States. How do we reverse the trend and become an attraction for workforce instead? What future are we creating for our teeming youths? Opportunities in life do not start and end with trading.

In this age of the internet, do we have a tech hub? Silicon Valley came to be due to synergy between Stanford University in the United States and Silicon Valley, pioneered by the Dean of Engineering, Frederick Terman. It was a harmonic relationship in which tech industry folks took courses in Stanford. In return, Stanford graduates had job offers from the tech companies. The creative abilities of the students of Stanford as it relates to technology found a vent and a funding stream in Silicon Valley. Google, Yahoo, Cisco and over 40,000 tech companies are products of this synergy. Can we recreate this model in Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, unleashing the talents of our young people and jobs in the process and making Anambra a hub for tech innovations, or are we still fixated in the old and retired testament called oil? Of course, Apple market valuation is worth more than Nigeria’s federal budget.

How do we make the three cities of Onitsha, Awka and Nnewi a smart city that operate round the clock instead of a ghost town once it is 8pm? There is a correlation between the entertainment industry and night life. Our young people in creative arts have to travel to Lagos so they can be exposed to opportunities for their talents. But the market at home is hugely unexplored. Just imagine the job creation possibilities in this sector alone.

How do we transform Onitsha main market into an international grade shopping mall? How do we change the "Obi and Sons Nig Ltd" business model of the Igbo man into something that outlives the founder, something with a global outlook while maintaining the local character? Talk of corporations and multinationals. John Pemberton invented the Coca Cola drink recipe and Asa Griggs Candler bought the patent from him 131 years ago. Today, Coca-Cola is a global brand.

How about Nnewi? Can it be an auto parts manufacturing hub with large foundries, steel furnaces and forges to complement it? Engineering faculties in our institutions of higher learning can have an exchange programme with Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company and other heavy industries and get the opportunity to develop indigenous technologies that will solve local problems.

What is our current debt profile, the durations and the repayment plan? How can debts be used to drive growths? Do we have the capacity to borrow more for critical infrastructures?

Power remains a tough challenge for successive Nigerian government. But it is not insurmountable. Anambra sits on a vast gas deposit that is untapped. Are there ways we can exploit this opportunity and make constant power a reality, especially for our industrial clusters and big businesses? What will the legal regime be like? Even God needed light to create. “Let there be light”, so said the holy book. That is the backbone of production and a strong attraction for investors.

Onitsha port is idle and idling despite the fanfare surrounding it's construction. How can it be made viable? Since our people are the biggest importers in this country, can we build a mini economy around the port area, just like Apapa. Why shouldn’t that port be functional? The problem is not in our stars. It is in ourselves.

What's our current IGR? How do we grow it? While States like Lagos derives the bulk of her revenue from IGR, we are stuck with the federal allocation which is not enough to drive growths. Anambra has over 60 markets dealing in several items and several other businesses. Unfortunately, tax awareness is low. Can we drive a campaign to raise this awareness and streamline payments for efficiency and accountability? We have the most active diasporans, how do we get our people to think home beyond mouthing it?

On health, no modern society survives without a robust health care system. The Anambra State Health Insurance Agency was launched on the 14th of September, 2018, after the law establishing it was passed in 2016. However, only 2•4% of Anambra residents are covered by the agency.

One of the ways an Igboman fiercely reiterates his pride and independence is by asking "i na enye m nri?" (Do you feed me?). But the recent food blockade by northern farmers is like the wind that showed the underbelly of a cock. Food prices increased astronomically. What happened to our agricultural capacity? Igbariam farm settlement is gone. Anambra North used to be the food basket of the State due to the arable land available in that area. Have we lost it? How can we build a synergy between our farmers and agro industries?

While we shout restructuring, what are the low hanging fruits we can pluck in the interim? Have we exhausted our present capacity?

See, if you don't have a destination, any road will take you there. The election year is here again. We need a reawakening, a renaissance, a call to self reinvent. We need big ideas. We need critical thinking on governance beyond payment of salaries and road construction. There is development rain all over the world, and we are not getting wet.

I sincerely hope that in this election, what we will hear will not be the same monotonous rhythm that is so rudimentary, so cheap and so lacking in imagination. I sincerely hope that these issues and more dominate our discussions. The electorate should be able to interrogate them because Anambra is the only place we call HOME.

By Nwanonenyi Arinzechukwu aka Aristotle

Dr. Godwin Maduka who hails from Umuchukwu in Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State, is an internationally renowned medical doctor, a triple Professor who has done so well in his field of study and specialties. He is an outstanding personality and a rare gem when it comes to humanitarianism and human capital development.

Politics / Primary Healthcare Should Be A Right In Anambra State ~ Ike Oligbo by Tkoy(m): 2:14pm On Feb 22, 2021
A PDP Gubernatorial Aspirant Amb Ike Oligbo has described the state of Anambra healthcare system as substandard and deserving of urgent intervention.

Ike Oligbo who decried the lack of equipment or insufficient equipments in most health facilities ascribed the increasing cases of funerals in the state to poor and inadequate healthcare facilities.

According to the philanthropist who has sponsored foreign healthcare missions to the state in several occasions, quality healthcare services is critical to health and longevity, noting that the need for improved medical services cannot be overemphasized.

Ike Oligbo stated that it is a crime against humanity for government to overlook such a delicate sector which should ordinarily be on top of the administrative scale of preference.

The PDP frontline aspirant for the forthcoming gubernatorial election emphasized the need for total overhauling of public healthcare facilities especially, to create room for modern health equipments and improved training of frontline health workers.

Ike Oligbo said that besides provision of modern health facilities, his administration intends to embark on training of community health workers, midwives, nurses, pharmacists and doctors who serve in community clinics near people in need.

While answering questions on why he consider the health sector as a priority, Ike Oligbo explained that his previous and ongoing tour of local government areas in the state enabled him to assess some of these public health institutions wherein he discovered the ugly decay of facilities and unfortunate neglect by the government whose priority should be to protect human life.

Speaking further, he pointed out the need for government to also provide incentives for health workers and even caregivers to encourage them in their effort to render selfless services and take extra care of unhealthy adults and children. This he said that his administration will surely work out, even if it means implementing the idea in phases for best impacts.

In conclusion, Ike Oligbo urged Anambrarians to be cautious about mixing with people, especially crowded places, this he said will go a long way to containing the second wave of COVID-19 in the state. He also called for judicious use of public investment and routine observation of COVID-19 protocols.
