Politics / Self Centeredness As A Killer Disease In Nigeria : A Nairalander's View by tkush: 5:24pm On Dec 22, 2015
Most inventions and creations are majorly invented by one originator but through the love of sharing have being able to cut across. Talk about Blogging, Books, Electronics, and among many other ideas/innovations have been able to see the light of the day because someone decided to extend the knowledge and it goes on and on.
Marco Pierre White may not sound familiar to many but his zeal as a young man to become a footballer couldn’t be farfetched, but destiny had another plan when Marco had an injury and couldn’t continue playing football. Today, not as a footballer but as one of the best chef in the entire world, Marco happens to be the youngest chef to have received 3 Michelin stars by the time he was 33. What sets him apart is believing in sharing as how you gain and thus he trained the no 1 Gordon Ramsey amongst others.
The whole idea of using Marco as illustration is because most developed states attain “Developed” status quo because they share ideas in as much it’s for the betterment of the populace. But in the Third World like Nigeria it is another ball game. In this part of the world where a motorist refuses to allow you overtake even when nothing stops him, an average politician and top office holder would have stuck enough cash in bank and some in disguise in their various houses as Precious Stones, Cars, and Jewelries before even considering their gateman for food not to talk of the masses. An average wife will always make the husband responsible for the totality of the house expenses even when she has a steady income, The Senate could afford billions of naira for car purchase when graduates are busy doing nothing except house chores.
The whole idea of self centeredness in Africa most especially Nigeria has eaten deep, the syndrome of “me, me, and me” and “I never belle food” has led us to this state of anomie, mention any menace in Nigeria without self centeredness and I will show you a mirage or lie. Many ideas that could have made us develop in certain measure are dead because someone prefers it so than share it.
The goal wasted by a player cause of self centeredness in a champions league final won’t only stop the team from the trophy but will take years to come for another opportunity.
Until we consider and help others, until our various services is positioned in proffering solutions to human existence, until ideas are worked out, until our true existence is in direct proportion to how many people we have helped then our purpose on earth is to be questioned. Do have a sharing festive season.

so sweet I could hear the wisper in my dream

cause all I could ever love is you

so loving I could imagine myself every seconds

cause into my life you came.

Politics / Saraki's Nemesis..."his Father Or APC" by tkush: 7:44am On Sep 25, 2015
Following a year of turmoil, including two political assassinations in the United States, Richard Nixon became the nation’s 37th President. His speech on August 15, 1973 was perhaps one of the most controversial speech ever made politically in America which eventually triggered the “Water Gate Scandal”, the ‘smoking gun’ tape further revealed Nixon’s participation in the water gate scandal which eventually led to his resignation. Most times above sometimes, a speech or action could destroy a political career of a prominent politician, the Oba of Lagos’s “…you will perish in the water” almost caused total havoc during the last election while former Speaker Aminu Tambuwal words asserting that Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila “not having the leadership skills to run the affairs of the House of Representative is still moulding towards the day it would be quoted against him. In this scenario, the SP Bukola Saraki is beyond speech or speeches but acts which could or would affect the political happenings of the Nigerian State for way too long. My point is this, what if Saraki’s nemesis is not from the role he played in becoming the SP even when it has its semblance but as a result of the havoc placed on the people of Kwara State with his reign as the governor and towards the death of his father. He Saraki, after serving the maximum two terms as a governor in Kwara his home State with the influence and political machinery of his father, he moved against his father and openly disgraced the septuagenarian who happens to be a respected politicians and former senate leader. The same Saraki forced him out of the then ruling party PDP all in the desperation to install his stooge Mr. Abdulfatah Hammed who is currently the governor and could cover up his wrongful deeds. Someone who could betray his father and his party that gave him the opportunity to serve two terms in office. His problem with former President Jonathan forced him out to decamp to APC. Late Saraki (his father) before his demise, no doubt was instrumental to the emergence of governors both military and civilian you just name it but with an exemption to the current Governor in Kwara Alhaji Abdufatah Ahmed, whose emergence in 2011 was one of the remote cause of his ouster in politics and eventually his death. This submission justifies that the nemesis of his father untimely death is more than enough and long overdue to make Saraki face this mess he is into than that of the APC. If the shock of 2011 Kwara guber election result could make his father not witness his 80th birthday, then Saraki deserves more. Just my thought

Politics / Where Nigerians Should Focus...by Tobikush by tkush: 3:48pm On Jun 30, 2015
Even when it is evident that Malaria in Africa
Region alone accounts for 85% cases and 90%
of its deaths worldwide. HIV/AIDS career in
Taraba State alone amounts to about 110,000
of its population(NEPWHAN) a population that
surpasses Vatican City, Tuvalu amongst many
other countries being put together. As if that is
not enough, at the proportion of western
countries being developed with zero case of
malaria victim unless the carrier just trooped in
from an African State, African continent has
been characterized with menace that could take
divine intervention to escape from. This
analysis draws me to Nigerian political scenario,
the reason for this as a focus encompasses the
fact that whatsoever development or menace in
a society is always the overall outcome of the
decisions or policies from government as
machinery saddled with the responsibility of
engineering the society. At a time where the
Majority of the Nigerian population believed that
the Saviour has arrived (President Muhammadu
Buhari) things politically still continue to be
bedeviled with the strong inner caucuses who
see power as more important than a family.
The reason why Nigerians should not expect
change is because the concept of change itself
advocates for a different identity, but this
personalities(Politicians) controlling the affairs
of this nation still carries the Nigerian blood
which means things could only get better but
not change.
The whole political brouhaha being manifested
by who should take over the leadership of
National Assembly is the least we should
expect in the course of this administration
because while Nigerian youths take time on
social media, some forces still take their time to
work out on how they are going to control the
affairs of this country mostly for the worse out
of greediness. To make this write-up so precise
and short, one of the major way to make this
country a better place is by advocating for
meritocracy in our political offices rather than
mediocrity. Many times being conversant with
people’s comments and news that goes round
on dallies, blogs, forum amongst others. One
thing that is so central in people’s comment is
religious and ethnic bigotry where you see
someone having stolen much from the nation’s
treasury still supported by people from his
region which makes culture of impunity being
celebrated and defended if not by people from
the politician’s region it could be from those
who benefitted from his corrupt practices. A
country like America wouldn’t have someone
like Obama as president if mediocrity is the
order of the day, even when racism is still
pervasive in that part of the world they still
don’t joke with meritocracy, if a black man is
good for the job so be it unlike in this part of
the world where a sociologist fills the position
of an accountant in an organization. My
argument is not that western countries doesn’t
have their own flaws as regards this, but the
rate is alarming in this part of the world.
Irrespective of the region you come from
among the six geo-political zones in Nigeria the
best man for the job suppose to fill the space.
In a situation where a man that cannot manage
his family is giving the role of leadership more
traumas tends to emanates than filling the
space with a dexterous man who is fit for the
job. If this could be related to our political
offices with vote and deliberation some like
Babatunde Fashola, Donald Duke, Akinwumi
Adesina amongst some could be considered for
appointments than those who have failed with
the previous ones appointed to them, not that
these few mentioned are certified not to have
side-funded government funds but at that they
were able to make people feel their effect as an
administrator. It took meritorious Lee Kuan Yew
to change the face of Singapore, Jose Mujica to
calm Uruguayan political system with frugality,
Mandela to imbibe a strong political culture in
South Africa, Nigeria also need meritorious
politicians to change the face of this nation and
it begins with the citizens because the society
will always taste for bad leaders but it is the
duty of the citizens to reject it. This is just my
view and am not party affiliated, your view is
also welcome on this.
