So, how do you explain the diamond bank, Skye bank, first bank that also sacked/are about to sack? How do you explain the oil & gas and manufacturing companies that are also sacking? I guess it's because of the Oceanic Bank matter too, right? please put sentiment apart, between 2010 and 2015, Ecobank did not sack but promoted many staff.
if they are sacking now, they have clearly explained the reason for it. Even now, Ecobank remains one of the Nigeria's top 10 strongest banks. this is a CBN acknowledged fact.

The biggest merger or absorption error in Nigeria Banking System is the Acquisition of Oceanic Bank by Eco. The frog eco has known no peace since it swallowed grasshoper Oceanic Bank.

Since 2010, former oceanic staff in Ecobank have been marginalised till date. they do not get promoted, they do not get job enrichment. they are not the first to merge, but their merger has never settled to anything good.

Today a couple of friends(former oceanic in eco) who will be 10 years in the system by September were sacked. I think its simply a ploy not to pay the legal disengagement amount for those who have done 10 years and above. Now this guys who have put in 9years and 9months will go home with one month salary in-lieu, probably 250-350k.

Its a sad situation in this country. It has nothing to do with Buhari or Goodluck, its the level of decadence in the system from ab initio which makes the grass suffer the rubbish caused by the elephant.

To all the guys who were affected in Skye Bank, Diamond Bank and Ecobank downsizing, keep your head up. i Know that feeling, i have been thru it( lost my job in oceanic Dec 2009), you will shine at some point. it wunt come easy, but you will shine.

Follw the Ekiti issue very well...it has nothing to do with tax. Fayose asked the banks to each contribute a special money to him. The banks refused, saying they have been paying their taxes and doing CSR in the state. they even volunteered to increase their CRS spend in the state. But Oshokomole said whosait, they must pay him. that is the genesis of the wahala

Why have they refused to pay tax? Can they try it with fashola when he was lagos state governor. Once ur tax is due for payment, dia shouldn't be any delay after dia workers pay as they earn not at dia own convenient time.

What he spent to and fro may not really matter in this context. What is important is that he did not condone wrong and fraud by his bank and he was able to make them stop the wrong and do what is right. That is satisfying in itself considering the fact that Nigerian banks are fraudulent institutions.

I still am pissed off with Ecobank seriously. Would have unleashed my vituperations and justified anger on 'em but for the fact that their mails go unanswered and they do not have an over-the-counter direct call line to their Lagos head office like GTB does in most of their branches.

So...it's ecobank that got the bastards arrested afterall...awon omo ale, ole olojukokoro....chio!
