Wow! Been a minute in here!

Keep up the good work @tunlex

tunlex01:

if Building inspector suits your role better, you may want to assess that. For EA, you must have pension or tax for all the years you want to submit as experience.
You can assess either with EA or Vetassess
your partner can contribute 5 points by writing English test because his experience and qualification dont match for ACS.

Hi Kenyanne

I'm sure you have friends in the accounts dept. meet them to create payslip for the period for you and if possible, stamp them too.

All the best.

Kenyanne:
Good morning house, i have been a silent follower of this group and i must say the information i got from here have been very helpful. Now i need help as to what to do on this issue. I lodged my application to vetassess about 2 weeks ago. Today I received a message from them requesting for my payslip showing my employer's name. I have earlier submitted my bank statement as an evidence of payment but the name on it doesn't reflect my institute's name but FGN, CBN.....

The issue is that I worked as an adhoc staff with a federal government institution for about 4 years and now presently working as a full time staff. During the 4 years, the organization didn't give me a payslip but usually pay into my account directly. Now the account with which they pay is a FGN account and doesn't show the name of the institute.

Pls what can be done about the payslip as I am very sure I cannot get the payslip from my institute.

Hello Bkoks

Your payslip and/or evidence of Pension should suffice. Tax should be the one the Company is remitting on your behalf (PAYE).

I did not include bank statements for employment - Just Payslips.

I also have self employment - invoices, bank statements and tax certificate were submitted.

All the best!

Bkoks:
Hello,

I’m planning to submit my documents as a valuer as well. I want to submit last 6 months pay slips and 6 months statement of account. However, I’m not sure work place will give me their tax clearance, I hope that is not an issue.

Hello RealtorOtabor

You should have a positive assessment - all docs/info assumed to be appropriately submitted.

Also, still in the pool for VISA 189, VISAs 190 & 491 for territories that have Valuer on their occupation list.

All the best!

RealtorOtabor:

Hello, will really love an update from you considering that I just started same process as a Valuer. I successfully submitted and paid three days ago.
I graduated from the University of Nigeria, course of study: Estate Management.
I have 7years work experience as an Estate Surveyor & Valuer also have all my certification from NIESV and ESVARBON.
I am hoping for a positive result.
Looking forward to hearing from you as I will like to know your progress.

Per Nigerian Tax Law, Tax clearance may be issued ONLY FOR THREE YEARS PRECEDING YEAR OF APPLICATION, ie if you apply this year, you can only get Tax Clearance covering 2017, 2018 and 2019. I advise that you get to the tax office to apply before this year ends otherwise, in about two weeks from now, you won't be able to get a Tax clearance for 2017 anymore which MAY affect the number of years you are able to claim for experience, especially if that profession relies heavily on Tax Clearance Certificate.
I personally do not recommend having the Tax Office giving you tax clearance up till 2013, because it may backfire but if it's something you want to pursue, can't stop ya.

However, it's likely to be sufficient that you have payslips and Tax Receipts. Worst case, meet with the Tax authority in your State, explain that you need tax clearance for that long period (about 7 years calculating from 2013). If they talk about not issuing beyond the three year thing, ask if you can WRITE THEM requesting tax clearance from 2013, attaching your tax receipts, and then they can reply you QUOTING the law that they can only issue for 3 years preceding and the 3 year Tax Clearance Certificate.
You may now use a combination of your Tax receipts, the reply letter (on headed paper) and your tax clearance issued to prove your years of experience.

But as I said, it is likely that tax receipts would suffice. If not, please do the tax clearance application as quickly as possible.

well said @Knight1. However @DJMJ your tax receipt(s) is/are sufficient enough. It shows your name and the fact that tax is paid. You can back this up with a statement explaining that by virtue of your employment, you are assessed on PIT (personal Income tax basis - direct assessment) not PAYE (pay-as-you-earn).

For PIT (direct assessment) you are assessed annually - which should tally with the kind of receipt you have.

Good Day All,

What's the difference between Skills Assessment Support and Skill Assessment For General Occupations on the VETASSESS online Page.

Skills Assessment for Professional Occupations
Our Skills Assessment for General Professional Occupations is for you if you are planning to migrate to Australia and your occupation is classed as a general professional occupation. If you haven't already determined how we categorise your occupation, check to see if it is a general professional or trade occupation. Please note that we are unable to provide migration advice. For any queries related to visa options and points test, please contact the Department of Home Affairs.

Good Day All,

What's the difference between Skills Assessment Support and Skill Assessment For General Occupations on the VETASSESS online Page.

Skills Assessment Support
Skills Assessment Support (SAS) services are for migration agents and prospective applicants who are yet to submit their Skills Assessment application to VETASSESS. The SAS services aim to provide additional and tailored support to applicants and agents for submitting an assessment-ready application for general professional occupations assessed by VETASSESS. There are two different SAS services:

Consultation Service
This service provides tailored information via a 30 minute phone consultation about the VETASSESS Skills Assessment criteria for occupational classifications.

Document Checking Service
This service checks whether the documentation you are planning to provide for a skills assessment will be sufficient for a Skills Assessment application.

The payment would be done through your profile. This is the last thing to be done, as the person will have to click on submit all documents or so before applying the payment at the end. Meaning, you have to release your details and probably do a video call with the person.

I made my payment through someone outside Nigeria - this is the best option I suppose. It was seamless.

If you know someone in Aussie, better for you to let that person make payment on your behalf.

So asthma shouldn't stop you, try and get out of this place as soon as you can.

Good morning elders in the house.
Please I studied and practiced as a civil engineer, but I want to access as a civil engineering draughtsperson, the job description matches what I do and civil engineering is accepted as a qualification.
My question is my reference letter will state employed as a civil engineer but all the job description of a draughtsperson is part of my job description just that I do more than that.
I hope that won't give me an issue with VETASSES
Please any one that had done this process before, please advice.
@bellong
@tunlex

Hi DJMJ

From Experience, what you should do is, in your CV, introduce what exactly a civil engineer does in this side of the world - which is equivalent to the roles/responsibilities of a draughts person in some other climes. You can also include a statement, explaining in details that a draughts person is also known as a civil engineer in Nigeria (like a background to the civil engineering career path/track in Nigeria).

Good Evening Guys,

Is it ideal to present these document to VESACCESS in the following format

Pay slips: for the last three months
o Payment Summaries for taxation (bearing company and applicant name): for the last six months
o Taxation Records of Assessment (bearing company and applicant name): for the last six months
o Bank Statements showing at least two salary payments, your name and the employer's name: for the last three months

 Payment Evidence as seen on VESACCESS page for SAS
It is recommended that the following (official evidence) be submitted for formal skills
assessment:
o Pay slips (ideally the first and most recent)
o Payment Summaries for taxation (bearing company and applicant name)
o Taxation Records of Assessment (bearing company and applicant name)
o Bank Statements showing at least two salary payments, your name and the
employer's name

Hi

I really don't understand what you mean by SAS. However, the requirement as seen on VETASSESS site is:

Payment evidence:

Payment evidence can include one of the following types:

Pay slips (ideally your first and last payslip); - This can be staggered to include one from each relevant year of experience.
Taxation Records of Assessment (bearing company and applicant name)
Bank Statements showing at least two salary payments, your name and the employer's name; OR
Employment-linked insurance / superannuation records (bearing company and applicant name).

emphasis on ONE OF THE FOLLOWING TYPES.

Please I need urgent answer.i applied for my transcript and certified true copy to be sent to Vetassess,I just realized that the send only my transcript.i asked them today, they told me that it's a mistake.what do I do? and now this post by Cdieli.i have gone to the website but I seem not to find it.

Attach the Certificate yourself. Also, attach a note explaining what has happened. Most importantly, track your transcript till it gets to VETASSESS. Then send an email again explaining what has happened (if you can, get your school to send you an email, so you can attach it as an evidence that the school admitted to forgetting the certified true copy).

@cdieli @Akeabasi

This is correct. However, I will advise against it. From experience, my school tried using ETX.NG, but I got the report that VETASSESS might have blocked receiving mails from addresses with the - .ng (dot ng) dormain.

So, it's best to stick with courier/paper based delivery, so you wont have any issues like I did (for 3 whole weeks - it was very painful, at a point I was like choi! Villa people why nah) because I decided to use the email option.

After paying for mail thru ETX.NG. I had to reapply and revert to paper based and it was smoother & sweeter. They seem to have their acts around the courier better.

Please another question is , the online bank statement that the bank sent to my mail is not stamped, will it be accepted? It's only the hard copy that is signed and stamped but it's damn much from 2015 . will it be accepted or I'll have to scan the hard copy and send?
Pardon me that I am asking so much,I am trying to do it right.more questions will be coming please.i appreciate.

It's best to attach the relevant period of your bank statement. I.e., if you are attaching payslips, pick only the pages that reflect the period of the payslips' figures.

Thanks for your kind support with this.... smiley

You are spot on. But it is better to write this letter yourself, so you can be detailed enough to cover your relevant experience. Then, you give whoever is to sign on behalf of the Organisation.

Yes - ‘To whom it may concern’ will do.

please I am still waiting for response to my inquiries . Thank you

Hello JFA01

Your wife may go ahead and apply for the Valuer occupation. It isn't saturated at all, like the Accountant occupation. In fact, she may apply for Valuer or Land Economist, as they have exactly the same requirements. For her assessment, she should go with the qualification that will not hamper her experience (unless if there was no gap btw her Btech & Mtech).

Also note that we have two categories of institutions:
Tier 1 Schools (Unilag, OAU, FUTA & Uni of Ibadan - a four year course will suffice)
Tier 2 Schools (Others - with a 5 year or more course).

I believe Estate Management is a 5year course, so she is good to go anyways.

As for you, you will only be required to do the English Test to give her an additional 5points.

All the best!

Thanks for the clarification.

Your move was smart!

One final question please. Sorry to bother you this much. I'm just trying to get things straight.

As in WES, was there a 'Reference number' marked on your transcript (generated from VETASSES online platform) enabling vetassess to recognise the sent transcripts as yours?

You are not bothering... it's better to get it right once and for all.

So, for VETASSESS, the ref number isn't really important. They have a way to match docs to its owners. Hence, it is safe to go ahead. Just ensure the appropriate mailing address is indicated on the package and you are tracking the parcel all the way.

For instance, I think they are still on lock down. So, you can send a mail to them with your tracking number and ask that they contact the courier company to redirect the parcel to a preferred address. But ensure you keep tracking, so you can alert them when the parcel gets to Melbourne - I did this for my transcripts, respectively.

All the best!
