Nigerian Afrobeats sensation, Davido, has made a bold move on social media after facing widespread criticism over the controversial music video of his newly signed artiste, Logos Olori.

The singer has reportedly unfollowed his logistics manager, Isreal ‘DMW’ Afeare, on Instagram, shortly after Isreal issued an apology on Davido’s behalf to the Muslim community.

The music video in question, titled ‘Jaye Lo,’ featured men dressed in white Jalabiya dancing in front of a mosque, sparking significant outrage within the Muslim community. Despite Davido taking down the video on Monday, some Muslims demanded a public apology from the artist.

The situation escalated further as youths in Maiduguri, Borno state capital, expressed their displeasure by setting a large banner of Davido on fire. Additionally, the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) called for an investigation by the Department of State Services (DSS) into the matter.

In response to the growing backlash, Isreal, Davido’s logistics manager, issued a public apology to the Muslim community on Tuesday. He clarified that the video was intended purely for entertainment purposes and acknowledged that it was wrongly presented. Isreal expressed regret for any offense caused and sought forgiveness from Davido’s Muslim fans.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has met with the Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

The two met at the first Stakeholders’ meeting of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)-Nigeria Business Council held at the Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja at the weekend.

At the meeting, Obasanjo, who is the Council Patron, “commended President Muhammadu Buhari for his foresight in creating the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) – Nigeria Business Council.”
The Special Assistant on Media to Obasanjo, Kehinde Akinyemi, stated that the meeting was held at the Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja at the weekend.

El-Rufai, who is the Deputy President of the Council, was said to have broken the news while giving a report of his meeting with the President held recently in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

According to El-Rufai, “the President was excited about the Council. He said with such Council in Africa, the future will be brighter to work together.”

The governor added that “Mr. President urged the former President to use his energy and network to extend similar formations in countries like Egypt, Ethiopia and South Africa.”

Dakuku Peterside while challenging Nyesom Wike said he's not a man of courage.

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has been dared to name his preferred candidate ahead of the February presidential election.

Wike was challenged by a former Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) Dr Dakuku Peterside.

The chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) also condemned unwarranted attacks on the campaign grounds of the party in Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area.

Speaking at the APC rally in Opobo-Nkoro, Peterside, in a statement by his Media Team, claimed that “Wike is not a man of courage, as he wants Nigerians to believe”.

He said: “Wike avoids difficult conversations, lacks vision and pursues personal interest above people’s interest.

“I dare Wike to tell the people the presidential candidate he is supporting if he is a man. He had promised his fans that he will unveil his candidate latest January but he lacks courage to take a position”.

Dakuku, an illustrious son of Opobo, expressed deep reservations over the attack on APC rally and accused a local government chairman of introducing violence into an area that had been peaceful since 1999.

He said: “It is a shame that they will go to the extent of attacking their fellow Opobo people because of politics, something that has never happened in our political history.
“Opobo people have been known for political tolerance, diplomacy, exposure and decency but the chairman, acting on the instruction of his gods, has now joined the home of our forebears to the list of flashpoints in Rivers State; this is reckless, irresponsible and disgraceful to say the least.”

The 2015 governorship candidate of the APC in Rivers advised the people of Opobo and Nkoro to choose only a competent “surgeon to perform surgery, competent pilot to fly plane and competent architect to draw houses,” rather than choosing a clan’s man, “who lacks the requisite knowledge to perform any tactical duty”.

Dakuku said: “We cannot choose our clan’s man who is not a doctor to perform surgery or who is not a pilot to fly plane; we cannot go for clan over competence and character.
“The APC has in Tonye Cole, a competent, graceful, intelligent, capable and read-for-the-job governorship candidate. Our people will vote for the APC from bottom to the top and not amount of intimidation will change
