Hi Toks. I’ve applied to university of Chester, university of suffolk and Sheffield Hallam university for sept 2022 intake. I just applied this month. Hoping to get a response. I have a different background tho. Studied agricultural economics. Just did some credits in statistics in my final year that was what made me interested in data science.

It’s nice to see a fellow aspiring data scientist. What is your background? Will send you a direct message if you don’t mind so we can rub minds.

Hello Aisha,

That’s great hopefully you get a positive response on your applications. Same here I also have a different background, I studied Political Science but I have a wide range of self thought knowledge from data science and analytics. I just need to go more in depth on it and of course get a certified degree on Data Science as a whole. It’s so nice to get to meet someone I can talk to about data science and interact with on an intellectual level, I’m definitely looking forward to your direct messages. Please HIT ME UP ASAP!! Cheers

@toks7
Your fellow babcock students and graduates can help you better with some of that info
Some schools are closed for certain courses for September, research and be sure if your choice is available
Yes you can get part time jobs as a student it may not be immediately you land, it may be, can't say
Don't always rely on the idea of marriage as a ticket to citizenship, that's how many people settle for unstable or incompatible partners out of desperation. If you find love, good for you.
You chances at getting a job after graduation is dependent on a lot of factors. The marketability of your course, your grade and even your interpersonal skills.

Thank you for your response, you have enlightened me more than you can think of, especially on the marriage as a ticket to citizenship.

1. Your age will not be an issue as long as you meet the course requirements

2. There are part time jobs you can do as long as you are not picky

3. I'm not sure if admission window is opened now but you can still visit university websites to find out

4. No idea, only you will find that out

5. Graduating with a good result will enhance your employment prospect.

Thank you so much for your reply

Good day Gurus,
I’m Tokunbo and I’m currently 29 years of age, I completed my first year in Babcock university in 2013 while studying Bsc in Political Science. I could not go back the next year to complete my program because I lost my dad and there was no means for my mum to come up with the fees. I resorted to been a man quickly and striving to adapt to the new changes by working series of semi skilled jobs and unskilled labor jobs. I acquired some IT skills, web developments, programming etc along the line . I received some online certifications from Karox technologies in India. Since 2013 and now 2022, 9years away from the university whilst striving in the university of life doing several jobs. I have savings of roughly 4.5million naira and I plan on having a change of study and career part as I wish to enroll for September in take in any UK university pursing a Bsc in Data Science as I believe Data is the new oil. I have 2 aunties and an uncle in the UK (they are UK citizens) who are ready to help with extra funds to what I have in order for me to purse my dream of a Bsc in Data Science. These are my questions for the gurus in the house >>>
1.) Been a 29 year old unmarried man with no kids going back to the Uni transitioning from an academic background of political science in My first year in Babcock what chances do I have in gaining an admission from any UK university with my year 1 transcript from Babcock?
2.) What are the chances of getting a job on a student visa working the 20hours per week as the law states.
3.) is it late starting to apply to the universities for a September in take admission currently at the moment?
4.) Would I be able to get my official year 1 transcript from Babcock since I didn’t complete my program although I do have the print out of my personal year 1 result from my student profile. I had that printed since year 1.
5.) After completion of my Bsc in data science I plan on staying back in the UK and possibly get a job with my degree and along the line get married to a UK citizen. Do I stand a chance of getting a job after 3 years of my program bearing in mind I will be 32 by then God willing.
Lastly I’m open to advices and suggestions from anyone in a similar position as myself. Thank you all for reading and I await your responses.

Nikky so long this person is sure about 150%. Chances of visa I don’t mind, I will first of all observe and see if your visa and that of your son comes out. If it does then I am definitely using this ur agent contact. My problem now is money, because I have already made my mind up I was staying in Naija the next 3months before I re apply due to the previous refusals and I have spent half of my savings for this visit trip. As soon as I see your visas out I’m sure patronizing ur contact. I’m still waiting for you to contact me. I already sent you my number check ur inbox
Nikky1759:
She assured me of 150% assurance and didnt ask me for any other documents than my passport data page and bank statement whether money is inside or not and i paid her a visit yesterday just to confirm what she said. I cant believe i have to waste 600k for i and my son application to just an african country! Wow!

Believe me I can imagine, because I know how that feels
Nikky1759:
@toks i cant believe ... Imagine having spent over 450thousands on three application and i get to see someone doing it for 300k per applicant ... With even a refund back policy ahan i am going to attach the conversation between myself and the agent.

Dear Nikky,

How true is this? It clearly seems like the consular is now running a scheme with some people but I find it hard to believe there’s an agent out there charging 300k for a 150% chances of visa. Send me a private Dm Nikky

Nikky1759:
No wonder they keep denying visa. Even the south africa consular is now corrupt imagine agent demanding 300k with. 150%assurance of a three month visit visa. I saw it with my 2naked eyes someone that they did it and got three month multiple entry in just 2weeks.South Africa!!!

Dear Mroyato,

Thanks for the heads up, I already made my mind up I was not going to re apply for the next couple months. I was looking at re applying February next year.
mroyato:
Hi Toks7,

If you must come to South Africa, I will advise that you give your application a break. At minimum, give it a three months break. If you are keen on having a vacation, try some other countries.

When you are ready for your application next year, do not request an invitation from anyone except they are your family. Apply directly as a tourist and ensure that all the required documents are submitted. You can submit a six month bank statement to be on a safe side. Do also ensure that your bank statement is stamped by the bank.

In your introductory letter, do well to introduce yourself in the best possible way.You may also dedicate a paragraph to include the countries that you visited in the last 2 years.

Ensure that your hotel and flight reservations are legitimate and verifiable to the last details. Therefore, ensure that your reservation is made with a very popular and reputable hotel.

Make sure there is no reason to doubt any of your documents and you can be rest assured that you will get your visa.

I still stand on my words that I said some months ago that people should forget about SA and pour your energy on other countries.

They don't want Nigerians coming in but they can't come out openly to say it, so this is the indirect way of saying it so as to discourage people from applying.

I could remember what the immigration officer who stamped me in March at OR Tambo airport said about Nigerians, he didn't know I was invited by a diplomat in the embassy, I would have reported him but I just let it slide.

There's a cold war between south Africans and Nigerians , they remain hostile to us for now.
I still advise we save the stress for another country. A word is enough for the wise.
I just found out with my refusals, indeed there’s a Cold War between South Africans and Nigerians. More of a diplomatic war and I’m sure the Nigerian government is not aware of this or they choose not to speak about it. The South African government is really out to shut out Nigerians from its country. After 2 flimsy refusals I have nothing to do with them no more.

Nikky1759:
i am telling you . The consular like you is really piss, i was so annoyed because all my documents were neatly arranged and complete.

Same bank statement i submitted the first time that was tagged as insuffucient fund to sustain the trip is the same one they told me unclear and unverifiable and now forged?
SA visa is really becoming something.
Those people know what they are doing, they are purposely refusing people just to discourage us, I don’t blame them our people have really painted us black in SA. Most people over stay their visa all in the name of greener pasture and they end up stranded in another man’s country while dealing in drugs and illicit cyber crimes and what not!! The SA govt knows what it’s doing with this unprecedented refusals. They don’t want anymore Nigerians. The once overstaying years there are giving them enough problems. What hurts most is my statement from the first application from April 28th to July 28th that’s 3months and yet they said it was not up to 3months and refused. A blatant lie by the consular, Second application again another lie Host ID unclear the same Host ID that was printed and submitted the first time the exact way my doctor friend gave me, they didn’t say anything about host ID unclear the first time rather they lied about statement not up to 3months and yet another lie the second time host ID unclear. There’s no way in hell I’m applying the 3rd time they should hold their country.

Like seriously

Can you states all the documents you submitted?

Oga justwise and the rest guru will be able to say something
. I submitted all documents required for visit, my host invitation letter, utility Bill, ID, house address, also every other details needed from me every single thing and even beyond. I went the extra mile in submitting supporting documents from the hospital bills from my previous stay in 2017 on the medical visa payments receipts, my current house address and documents backing the ownership to me, I submitted past travel history. I don’t even want to start thinking about it this morning because I will just start getting angry again.

As educated and well to do Nigerians with legal businesses, a legal means of income and livelihood. We are yet to realize to what extent these other fellow Nigerians giving the country a bad image outside of the country as tarnished the general image and the stigma that comes with been a NIGERIAN. In this context I’m referring to the drug dealers and yahoo boys in SA. Coupled with that this present administration as even made matters worst. Every embassy sees every Nigerian as been desperate. Now I was in SA in late 2017 on a medical visa I was there for a duration of 2weeks. When I was discharged from the hospital I went on a sight see and I was astonished as to how developed they are over there and how far behind Nigeria is. I returned to Nigeria went by my business and my company, I own a Real Estates and Fintech company. I have a travel history of Germany, Ireland, UK, Switzerland and France. So last month I decided to visit a Nigerian doctor and close friend he’s a citizen in SA because he as been in SA for a very very long time, right from the late 90’s and early 2000’s. He wrote me an invitation coupled with every other details. I printed my bank statement from April 28th to July 28th I had an opening balance of 13.5m and a closing balance of 5.5m in my personal account, I submitted at Lekki on August 13th with all other necessary documents, my house and my business legal documents and ownership and every other thing else. I also printed my previous medical visa from 2017 my entry and departure at OR Tambo at the exact time. I even left their country earlier than the time they gave me to stay. My fellow Nigerians from august 13th that I submitted two weeks later my passport came back to me august 31st and I was refused and ticked under “Bank statement not valid for three months” and I was like that as to be a joke right??!! April 28th to July 28th that’s a 3months statement. So my thoughts were maybe because the consular officer meant a 3months calendar bank statement. So I reprinted the same documents I used in applying the first time and I included a copy of the refusal paper showing bank statement not up to 3months, went to my bank printed another bank statement from June 1st to September 1st and I had a closing balance of 4.3M. Tuesday September 7th went to the same Lekki center and I submitted the same documents and every other thing I used I applying the first time along with my previous medical visa in 2017, my newly printed bank statement and the copy of the paper refusing me saying my statement was not valid for 3months. The same documents, the invitation from my doctor friend, his ID copy my home and business documents . Printed everything out as I did the first time and I could recall at the VIP section one of the guys said to me “oga you were here some weeks ago dey didn’t give you ni” I said my brother Naso I see am oo!! They said my statement was not up to 3months and he said argh!! They just wanted to refuse u ni and he told me categorically it’s now a who you know thing with the SA consular as they refuse legal and legitimate people and grant visa to omoh Igbos with drug carter tentacles in SA. For Christ sakes my business as a legal and active building I run a business here as much as naija is terrible I don’t plan on foregoing my business and starting from the scratch in another mans country let alone an African county although I don’t see SA as every other regular country. Those guys are way ahead for Nigeria. My point is I was very angry when the guy told me this.I was Damn sure they wouldn’t have no excuse to refuse me this time. So I submitted September 7th and my passport came to me this morning and underneath the white paper other “ Host’s ID copy certification unclear” Omoh I was so pissed when I saw it like what the hell mahn!! This people are really taking a piss. How is the same ID copy of my doctor friend which I used in applying some weeks ago all of a sudden it’s unclear to them. How?!!! Like how! It’s not like they said the ID was fraudulent or such person doesn’t exist in SA. Id copy unclear the same copy I used in applying some weeks ago, then I just realized truly it’s now a matter of who you know with SA cos in every aspect I should never have been refused the first time, the statement was 3months. Right now I called my doctor friend told him I’m no longer coming as I won’t be played on my intelligence anymore. The SA consular is taking a piss and I would rather Forego visiting him till further notice. Below are the copies of the first refusal and the second refusal I got today. Oga justwise if you are still on this platform please what is your say on this?? Because I have followed this forum for years as every other forum on Nairaland.

Hello, I am no visa expert but from what I have read from you, the invitation letter was a forgery. Why does your agent have to write you an invitation letter? He is not inviting you to SA is he? To be honest, I will advise you not to apply for a while because most likely you will be denied again.
that was the mistake I did allowing and placing that in his hands but now I plan on getting the invitation from an uncle that as permanent stay in SA...if I don't re apply it will be a total loss for me...it's better I take the risk of re applying since I wasn't stamped refusal on my passport and more so I only got refused over invitation not stamped which was genuine and valid but lacked only the official stamp

you can reapply after six months. if you apply immediately, you'll be denied on the grounds of 'recently denied'
the agent says he I will have to re apply since they only refused me based on my invitation not stamped and more so I was not stamped refusal on my passport I only got a white paper between my passport stating the unconvincing letter nd not stamped as reasons for the refusal...both I plan on re applying at Lagos embassy this time around and with a better invitation letter and officially stamped...I hope I get it this time around *fingers crossed*

On not getting any text after close to two weeks I decided to go online nd track my application on VFS and it says application was ready for pick up as on the 5th June...to my amazement I called the agent and told him it was available for pick and maybe network problem that was why I didn't get any message...so I gave him my receipt and he went to pick the application today and to my surprise and outmost disbelief and sadness my application on as at getting it today was refused because they ticked it on the paper Documents lack credibility/unconvincing and below comments on the grounds above it reads: RSA LETTER NOT CONVINCING. NO OFFICIAL STAMP ON THE LETTER. I asked the agent why so and he replied that he didn't know the invitation letter he processed for me wasn't stamped and we would have to re apply ASAP...just one question house How true is the reapplication and what are my chances of been granted a visa if I re apply nd this time with a well convincing letter and stamped as well And any suggestions and advices for me please Cos I am putting all my resources time effort and money into this and I can't afford to be denialed again
