Education / Re: Its Possible to Study Medicine, Go for it by Topro: 11:21pm On Jun 11, 2017
Hope you know they remove one mark for every mark you miss. So if you get 200 out of 250. And you miss 50, your total score is 200-50 that you miss =150 /250.

So when they say 50 percent. It's 50 percent after negative marking. Research before saying things you don't know.

In first year I had 5.0 CGPA and I was a medical student. Highest in the whole school. From 2nd year you stop using CGPA just distinctions, credits and pass

There is no scam here.
1. Her family wants the best treatment for her.
2. They need to fly her abroad instead of keeping her at luth which we all know have a reputation for misdiagnosis and given wrong treatment to patients.
3. They can't afford it and ask membersof the public for help.
4. Help comes and the amount exceeds the amount needed.
5. Luth says they didn't refer her to any other hospital and the family admits that decision to fly her out was solely their decision.
So where is the scam here

I'm a medic and I've watched this go on. However, I need to say something. I work in a teaching hospital, though not LUTH.

1. You don't make a diagnosis of a mass that fast because you need to send it to the lab for histopathology (biopsy) and you can't get biopsy results that within 48 hours. LUTH cannot work blindly on the result of another hospital. What if it was benign?. Therefore, a new test must be conducted

2. If you're collecting public funds to the tune of over 30 million, yes, you can't be shaddy or hiding something from the public. You have to be plain.
And saying nobody from the public can see you, Even Toyin Aimaku raises questions. You can't collect money and then say your donors can't contact you anymore.

3. There's a word we call immunocompromise. E.g HIV, HbSS patient., cancer
This (combination of cancer and sickle cell) patient has a low oxygen level and to perform surgery, you need to intubate a patient during the procedure to make them sleep during surgery, a period where they have apnea (can't breathe). For someone that has low oxygen levels already, this seems like suicide.

She MIGHT NOT be fit for surgery. Its risky forr anesthesiologist to prep her for surgery. However, she can keep fighting, a miracle is possible

That said, it's good to hope for the best and not give up. However, due to large funds involved, she should have made things clear to the public that gave her the funds.

I hope I helped people understand.

Let's still pray for her. God does the impossible.

Family / Re: Help! I Don't Know My Father. I Will Be 29 In Few Months by Topro: 2:02am On May 28, 2016
It should make you more determined than ever to do better for yourself. Don't blame anyone for your predicament or compare yourself with anyone, not even your brothers.

Be determined to make it so much that even your brothers and your dad would want to be associated with you.

Keep pushing!
