I’ve raised complaint several times, still nothing yet. I’m just tired of the whole thing.

Good morning guys, I don’t know if anyone has ever heard about the issue of missing passport. I have applied for a partner visa since 4th Feb 2022 and still waiting to receive my passport. I’ve sent series of paid mail, calls and even complaint. Decision has been made for a while now but still waiting for my passport to arrive. I’ve been to TLS to check if my passport is there still nothing. I’m starting to think that they’ve lost my passport because it shouldn’t be this long for my passport to arrive. Also, I will like to know if I can apply for another visa while waiting for my passport to arrive. It’s been more than 4 months since I did biometric. I’m starting to lose my cool. It’s really frustrating to be sincere.

Good morning everyone, It’s been 3 months and half since I did my biometric for dependent visa. Sent paid mail, series of complaint and call. Response was decision has been made that we need to exercise patient for the passport to arrive. My wife who’s the main applicant and already in the UK called last week and still got the same response. Is there anywhere in the UK where she can go in person to make a complaint or I should rather get a new passport and apply reapply ? I do not plan to be in Nigeria till this moment. I’m so frustrated. Thank you �

I have never posted before but I was encouraged to do so because of an advise I got here that helped me, I know mine will also help someone out there.

I applied for visiting visa for my 2 children and they did their biometrics on the 18th of February.
I received a Document is ready for collection mail for one of them on the 16th of March exactly one month after biometrics.
Then the waiting game began for the second one...
I was sure they made an oversight for not sending the details of the second child, that they will soon send it. I never knew that the admin and logistics of BHC has turned into something else.
Week one passed, I was beginning to get worried (I had not tuned into nairaland then) I told myself to wait for another week, since it wasn't even up to the new 6 weeks processing time. 6th week ended still no notification... see wahala o.
started asking myself if maybe they were so overwhelmed that they lost my daughter's passport abi kini gbogbo katikati yi sef .
I needed more information, I now logged into nairaland and read this thread briefly initially, then I later sat down and went through all the 67 pages and actually consumed people's experience with TLS and BHC. My mind came down a bit that okay now no be only me this thing dey affect.
mind you at this time I had already sent 2 paid mails one to follow up on the refund for a cancelled application and the other making enquiries about my daughter's application.
Got almost instant response on both and that with respect to my daughter's application a decision has been made and i should give them 10 working days to despatch the passport. This was around the time i received notification of the other child's passport collection.
I started counting 10 WD o. at the end of 10 WD I sent another paid mail to ask how far, I still never collected the passport, they responded almost instantly that I should be patient that they will get to me shortly that they have unexpectedly large volumes of applications to process.
I said Hian na wa for these people o, when did things become this chaotic.
I continued waiting and approaching Easter weekend and my intended dates of travel, no indication of collection notification.
I really became worried at this point, then I saw one post by a community member @sparkleoke who actually detailed what she did after waiting for 2 months for passport collection.
Sharply I followed her suggestions and went to log a complaint to the Home office on this delay, listing all the paid mails i have done to them and the responses, also citing inefficiency and what this was costing me. How I underwent Psychological trauma for this delays.
I wrote the complaint on Good Friday, and I was thinking to give them this week to work on it, but low and behold like what @sparkleoke said, I received a notification on Wednesday for passport collection, which was exactly 24 hours after complaint was written.
Went to pick up the passport today.

My takeaway is that it looks like they are understaffed at BHC so they will only work on the one that comes to them, haphazardly with no semblance of queue. TLS people may not actually have the physical passports if it hasn't been sent to them (I went there twice during this waiting period and they said they haven't received it from BHC)
One has to actually follow up with these paid mails to get result.

Thank you for this information. Kindly share or someone should kindly share how BHC can be contacted. I have similar issue and I’ve been loosing my mind cause of this. Waiting to hear from TLS can be so frustrating.

Good day everyone, I have a question for those guys that sent paid mail and received decision made response from UKVI then go to TLS to pick up their passport without waiting for TLS to contact them that their passport is ready for collection. I received the same response from UKVI and I went to TLS just as I was advised. TLS told me that I have to wait for them to contact me before I can come pick up my passport. How do you guys go about it? Is there any other TLS apart from the one I went to? I’m confused abeg, waiting to hear from TLS is really exhausting.

Can someone pls enlighten me on go about this maybe I can go back there again. Is there a particular office I have to go directly instead of waiting in line with the people who are there for their passport collection? Or is there a way I have to explain to them in other for them to be able to help me check if my passport have arrived or not? I thought they were going to help me check when I went there but they only explained to me that I have to wait till they email me to come for collection. I’m getting tired of waiting already. Biometric has been done since February.

Two of my friends submitted on March 9 & 10 respectively. They have not gotten any response yet. They didn’t bother sending a paid mail since there is an average wait time of 6 weeks on UKVI website

Mine was done early Feb, sent paid mail and the response was same as yours. It’s really frustrating waiting to hear from TLS. I guess we have to keep waiting…

I just got back from TLS. I was able to explain my issue to one of the representative at TLS, she told me I do not have any choice than to wait for the collection email. So I can not have my passport if I’ve not received an email from them. Thanks to everyone for the contribution.

suggest that you go to TLS with the reply given to see if your passport is there waiting to be picked up. Waiting to be contacted by TLS at times is draining.

if the paid email was from the 4th of March then definitely go as your passport would be at TLS, if it’s from April then you can probably go to TLS before the Easter holidays.

Hi everyone, I’ve been worried lately. Had my biometric around early February, (dependent). Main applicant (student) has been approved and is already in the UK since March, the main applicant happens to be my wife. Paid mail was sent on the on 04/05/2022 and a response was received saying decision has been made that I just have to wait to receive my passport. I will like to know how long it going to take for me to receive collection email because I believe the wait is getting too long. Thank you
