SaintBees: I even tried checking the E-VFS E-Visa, there wasn’t any slot for study. I checked and checked. You should apply through VFS physically and VFS Lagos Slot (December) for Study get filled up quickly like flash, but VFS Abuja doesn’t in fact there are slot for study for this month. But then both VFS Centsr they will close for the year prolly second week of December, till January! Check DM |

Swoxcode: Reapply! And this time apply like 3 months to the date of departure. Allow a lot of time because now this is festive period and the volume of visa application is high, hence the longer Processing period. If you want to re-apply today, let your date of departure be within Feb 25 upwards as the case maybe. |

SaintBees: Yours is a study Visa, if I am not mistaken, you should confirm first if there is an E-visa category for study “The new e-visa is opened to Nigerian ordinary passport holders for a short-term visitor’s visa to South Africa. “No other visa category except a visitor’s visa, not exceeding 90 days will be issued via the e-visa platform,” the Home Affairs Department stated. https://voyagesafriq.com/2022/09/05/south-africa-announces-e-visa-portal-nigerian-travellers/ |

Rachyekong: Tell your University to write a very strong letter to the SA Consulate here in Nigeria. That should speed up things for you. |

Maz8: Yes, if you applied at VFS Lagos, They will forward it to High Commission in Abuja. For all Visa Categories. And they also mentioned that applications will take longer than expected due to high volume of applications received & the turnaround period of courier services from Lagos to Abuja and Vice-Versa. |

Gernny: Go directly to their hotel website like Houghton hotel, Johannesburg marriot or any hotel in the city you’re going to, then make reservations or better still if you have a friend or relative in JHB or SA, tell them to write you a letter with their phone number, email address, house address and duration of your stay, attach it with a recent utility bill that shows that house address and their SA ID or intl passport and their visa/permit if not a citizen of RSA. all should be stamped by a SA police not more than 3 months and then bank statement if the person is responsible for your finances in SA if not don’t attach it then yours must be attached. 2 Likes |

Maz8: My advice is to reapply, appeal takes 6-12months and that’s if they will even attend to your appeal. I’d advice you to Reapply like 1-2 months before your date of departure because now this is festive season and application is high even at this moment. Goodluck |

shigo04: Nawa o, Maybe it’s the category itself then because as long as study visa takes some people on this thread have applied for it like 2/3 times and got decisions 2/3 times for just this year alone. My advise is to contact the embassy in Abuja or VFS and ask Howfar because it’s just too long. Plus Lagos is closed and the pressure is on Abuja Embassy I guess that might be contributing to the delay even at that it’s too long. |
Travel / Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Tryhard: 3:22am On Nov 20, 2022 |
chemashie: I heard Lagos embassy isn’t treating visa applications for now, even new applications are forwarded to Abuja for processing. I guess that’s why yours is stucked. |

Quick one please, when someone have a study visa to study in University of Pretoria, does it mean that learner can’t travel to any other location in SA other than Pretoria. like CapeTown Stellenbosch Durban, Johannesburg. The learner must be at Pretoria at all time |

Please validate and verify your yellow card and take the original to the embassy. It’s very important. A lot of refusals now is based on unverifiable yellow card or Not validated yellow card. Scan the QR code. Ensure it is stamped and signed. |

Tryhard: Ukzn don’t charge for Master by research for a year, still Embassy asks for bank statement. And there is a particular amount they see as sufficient. So I’m asking those who applied and were granted |
