Pros and Cons of Xiaomi Mi 11i

I've been a fan of Samsung phone for a long time and truth be told, they have beena major force in the smartphone market down the years, churning out premium phones(flagships, midrange and even budget) consistently. However lately it seems samsung has tagged premium phones with high prices and sometimes its either you break the bank or settle for less.
So I looked into other brands producing premium smartphones at a much lesser price. One of them is Xiaomi. Xiaomi continues to be a dominant force in the smartphone market, offering a diverse range of devices catering to various budgets and preferences. Among its lineup is the Xiaomi Mi 11i, a mid-range powerhouse that aims to deliver impressive performance without breaking the bank, infact to me this phone has a pricetag of Samsung S20 with the spec that can challenge S21 lineup. Let's delve into the pros and cons of the Xiaomi Mi 11i to help you decide if it's the right choice for you.

Pros:

1. Powerful Performance: The Xiaomi Mi 11i is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset, ensuring smooth performance and excellent multitasking capabilities. Whether you're gaming, streaming, or using multiple apps simultaneously, the Mi 11i handles everything with ease. This will beat Snapdragon 865 in S20 lineup with a fair margin.

2. High Refresh Rate Display: The device features a vibrant 6.67-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. This results in smoother animations and a more responsive touch experience, making it ideal for gaming and multimedia consumption.

3. Impressive Camera System: The Mi 11i sports a versatile triple camera setup, including a 108MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 5MP macro lens. This configuration allows for capturing detailed and vibrant photos in various lighting conditions, while the ultra-wide and macro lenses offer added flexibility for creative photography.

4. Fast Charging: With a 4,520mAh battery capacity and support for 33W fast charging, the Mi 11i ensures that you spend less time tethered to a charger and more time enjoying your device. The fast charging capability means you can quickly top up your battery when needed, keeping you connected throughout the day. Now I'll add this, while Samsung has improved abit in the battery segment (the 3100mah in my S10e was an headache then), they have ways fall short in the amount of watts built for fast charging. For example while mi 11i support 33W charging speed, Samsung S20 and S21 only support 25W. That means longer time plugged to your wall socket.

5. Sleek Design: The Mi 11i boasts a premium design with slim bezels, a sleek profile, and a glass back panel that exudes elegance. It feels comfortable to hold and offers a sophisticated aesthetic that rivals flagship devices. But I must warn you that smartphones with glassback are always a fingerprint magnet, trust me you will prefer using it with a case.

Cons:

1. No Wireless Charging: Despite its premium features, the Xiaomi Mi 11i lacks wireless charging capability. While this may not be a deal-breaker for some users, many with small devices like smartwatch etc can have a hard time not having a device that can charge this on the go. Also it's a notable omission considering the device's otherwise impressive specifications.

2. Limited Water and Dust Resistance: Unlike some competing smartphones in its price range like the Samsung S20 and S21 that comes with IP68 rating, the Mi 11i does not come with a high level of water and dust resistance certification(IP53). This means users need to exercise caution when using the device in wet or dusty environments to prevent damage. But to tell the truth i'm still afraid to verify if my Samsung S21 is truly waterproof, don't blame me i'm a Nigerian and we easily have trust issues.

3. MIUI Bloatware: Xiaomi's MIUI software, while feature-rich, is often criticized for its inclusion of pre-installed apps and bloatware. While some users may appreciate the added functionality, others may find it intrusive and prefer a more streamlined user experience.

4. No Expandable Storage: The Xiaomi Mi 11i does not offer expandable storage options, which may be disappointing for users who require additional space for storing large media files, apps, and games. However, the device does come in multiple storage configurations to accommodate varying needs.

5. Availability: Depending on your region, availability of the Xiaomi Mi 11i may be limited compared to other smartphone brands. This could pose a challenge for users who prefer to purchase their devices from local retailers or carriers. But for the most part of nigeria, Xiaomi is quite popular, and you'll get your hands on one of this models quite easily.

In conclusion, the Xiaomi Mi 11i offers a compelling combination of performance, camera capabilities, and design at a *relatively affordable price point.* While it may not be without its drawbacks, such as the lack of wireless charging and limited water resistance, it remains a solid choice for users seeking a feature-packed smartphone that doesn't break the bank. Ultimately, whether the Mi 11i is the right fit for you will depend on your specific preferences and priorities.

Phones / Re: I Just Bought Samsung S10e For 170K. Is It Worth It ? by Tunjesty(m): 8:55am On Dec 30, 2023
The phone is great, if you bought it from jumia you're not cheated. What people don't realize is that when you're talking value for money and hardware, that 2019 Samsung people are talking about Is way better than all this new tecno and xiaomi(safe for xiaomi Mi series which is way more expensive in nigeria). That beast comes with HDR10 screen, OIS, IP68(waterproof). The phone can shoot video at 4k(2160@ 60fps). Snapdragon 855 running 2.8ghz. 1080×2280 pixels @439 dpi.
7nm processor.
Those that are claiming to use new phones should come out and challenge that if their phones get that spec.

Romance / Re: "Soso"by Omah Lay by Tunjesty(m): 8:00pm On Jan 31, 2023
I think the song is not actually about depression...to me it's like omah lay is begging for forgiveness and reconciliation probably with the diety he is singing to....like this line
"Soso come and help me oh 'cause I don pray
Maami, I don break commandment
I can't stay for one place
For God sake, oh my dear
Come and ginger me
Only you dey feel my pains
Give me vitamins wey go take these pains away.
Maybe he has done something against the vow he took he is punished for that...who knows?
But that song surely have some shitty spiritual meaning that is not good to it.
