Between the last time we had a conversation and now, my immediate younger brother has moved from an above 200k job to an above 700k job. Last time we spoke, he told me he's never doing any job that pays in naira again.

Our last born who recently graduated has also moved from a 70k job to a 155k job and there's no end in sight to how many other jobs with better pay he's still going to get.

People who know what they are doing and have the cash to support are even applying and getting 50-100k pound jobs in UK right from Nigeria. The only reason they can do that is because of the experience they gathered from those salary job.

Good luck applying to UK with an uber experience.

I know someone who started his career in the internal audit department of a bank here in Nigeria as an ET. He moved to a big four audit firm from there and as of today is now in a sister audit firm in UK. The entire thing happened between 2018 and 2022. He started with a little over 150k in Nigeria, today he earns multiple times that amount. The sky is his limit. Can you show us one single uber driver with that level of increase in earnings?

That is why you cannot and should not compare the two. From where I'm standing, it's apples and oranges

Seems I came in at the right time.
Some have said it here severally that no job outside up the extent of asking fresh graduates to get a cab believing "no job out there".
These are the growths needed in career which a driver can never get throughout his lifetime driving on the platforms.

Yea boss, I left the hustle and the country with my family that's the reason why.

Food for thought for those...
Don't let anyone deceive you that you can make it big while you do this hustle. Its only for you to get by.

Young graduates were advised to join the hustle but the little you are getting now can/may stop you from reasoning more that what Uber/bolt brings.

Many are jappa-ing, even if you can't japa, don't put all your life on Uber/bolt.

Yes I am aware of the situation.

What gets me annoyed you is your condescending character towards drivers, you need to stop that.

And back to Tgirl, people put in charge should update the house on the available decision.

Now I see you lack sense.
Carrying your stupidity all over the forum, from car talk section to business section and so on.

You asked them to fix their country yet the fooolish you can't have a business in your slave country unless you come to Nigeria.

The guy has japa and left you guys behind .. He still talks about the need for others to Japa. We complain on how bad things are etc ... But what is the solution

The guy should show others on how to japa .. His experience on the way he japa will help others and motivate others ... We are here to learn

Mr man, there is a reason why this platform is called a forum.
There is travel section, sexuality section, business section ...
If any information is needed, kindly go to the right section for your needs. A guy came here to encourage drivers how he left driving and improved himself through data analysis, and also travelled to the UK. Some here kept asking more questions from him which he wasn't obliged to respond as the motivation he gave was enough, while the smart ones like 73o9 dug up his post to know more about the data analysis.
You come here to sell your oil, talk about your cars, but you can't go to travel section to discuss such. So leave the guy !
You have been here for long, have you ever talked about how someone can leave this tranches to a better place?
You have been here for long, have you ever talked about how someone can start importing cars and oil?
You have been here for long, have you ever talked about how you are enjoying the benefits of your parents being the slave citizens?

So lead by example!

Upon all these your write up .... The most important thing is for you to have your papers......

What's your business with that? Is he not old enough to know what he wants?

Without social security number , you will not be able to work legally in USA .. The same for Canada ......
Forming uncle but he has told you severally he doesn't need you.

Now unless you enter Canada through a visa program that allows you to work once u arrive .....than a working permit is issue to you ....

Bla bla bla....

Now since we can't really know for sure whether you dey in the USA or Canada ......

Why are you jealous and no one need validation from you know if he is truly there.

But if you are in the USA and you are in School. Depending on your status you use enter , I hope it is legal .. Than if not you will have to do arrange marriage to get your papers that will allow you to work.. Anything short of that you are wasting your time........

bla bla bla ... story teller.

There is a strong feeling that Trump will ran again .. And if he does and win .. He will reform the immigration law that will protect out borders.......

I do support some of his immigration policy. And I do agree that some are a bit anti black or African countries .. But he needs to protect our country.. Now am not a Trump supporter , but I do support some of his immigration policy..........

So as you shouting up and down .. Try and inform others about the challenges forcing immigrants like you..........
TRASH

Without a working permit in the USA , you are better back in Nigeria.......

See jealousy. When are you coming back to stay I Nigeria?

From experience and the way you sound.. I doubt you are their legally in the USA.. I think the plan is for your friends to do arrange marriage for you..
Why are you so keen in knowing his status?
Boju boju

I can go on and on ...but I will stop here for now ........

No go on, mofo.
Just as his moniker was mocked for not seen here, you jumped out like an idiott.

All politicians are the same. Do not for a second think that any of them is different.

If I was a delegate, whoever has the highest bid earns my votes.

I would also vote accordingly if I were to be among those delegates just like these ones.

Best of luck

Not anybody mate because people like you made him so.
I am sure you are in 30s, was it not your age mate that won presidential election in France? How old was canada's PM when he became PM? How old were these sets of politicians when there came into power?
Here we vote on sentiments; tribe, religion...
It would have been a proud thing if the youths like you are clamouring for presidency but the peanut you want to get has clouded your thoughts so much that you are OK with peanuts you get from Uche.

I do not doubt he'll perform well, I just hope he doesn't repeat the bad things he did with Lagos such as putting thugs in the helm of affairs in federal level. He's a very intelligent old man with lots of experiences... Even though I didn't support him I'm coming to think he's going to be far far better than Buhari. My other problem with him is his own interest is always paramount. Maybe he'll do somethings better than he did in Lagos state Sha. Let's all hope for the best.

Are you talking about what he did at the toll gate?
I believe he knew about or authorised the shooting at lekki toll gate.
I also hope he doesn't do worse as he is only concerned about his money.

First thing first... E hailing is not something new . yellow cab and E hailing are basically the samething. The difference is technology , e hailing connects you easily to your customers ..... With yellow cab and E hailing you are putting in the same amount of hours driving ..... yellow cab has been around for years and years .. Yellow cab is a form of a hailing ....

The more and more I read on the forum. The more I understand the mind set of the rich and poor. I now understand why the rich are very tight with their money. It seems to me you guys don't have what it takes to be rich .. You don't understand the work and sacrifice it takes...

So you now consider yourself to be among the RICH?

You keep talking down on people that are struggling in this hard economy but you have never been in same shoes as theirs to know exactly how they feel.
Having and demanding the best doesn't mean laziness.

@ d bolded...Only the wise know this.
Better to keep the price reasonable and have more turnover rather than increase price and only a few can afford it.

Have more turn over you say?
So your more turn over means more kirikita?

Airport guys don't run Kirikiti around lagos before they make something for themselves, hence why you would never hear them divert into e-hailing.

IMO, more run around doesn't relate to more earns but more depreciation of your vehicle and YOU!

I use to think like this before, always quick to console myself with someone struggling or lower class, until someone corrected me.
Why don’t you compare yourself to your mates/ junior doing better, working from home marking 800k a month or even photographers collecting 500k for one wedding and two weddings in a month 1M or guys that are doing farming and lounging, why factory workers or gala sellers.
I thank God for the opportunities and blessings but bro you should look around you guys don move, legit making cool cash.
I’m not flogging feli but stating that the work is not equivalent to the figures on dashboard.

Driving up and down Lagos won't allow you to reason clearly.

One fact I noted was that fares are cheap to keep you in the system.

Many people didn't plan to drive a taxi, so if they could make money on time (high fares) means they will quit driving early but the fares are cheap to keep you in the system.

I stopped coming here ever since I stopped uber but mentions and thrills to know what's is happening keep me checking here once a while.

All my life I have known one is meant to compare yourself to higher people but other way here like comparing oneself to labourers, hawkers, etc. Anyway, I don't blame them as I don't know them personally and we have different career targets.

I read on this thread about someone that gave a motivation on data analysis which prompted me to search deeper.

Uche, as you always claim that taxi driving is the best job to happen to graduates, I hope there is career progression.

Now see what we call career progression here => https://www.nairaland.com/7037240/net-salary-data-analyst-scientist#111173121

Very possible.. It is all about setting a target and a goal.

With anything in life, you want to work smart and harder. U will notice that drivers that complain on this forum are still driving.. If it is that very bad, they should quit and look for something else...

I had a driver about 1yr ago working for me. This driver was able to save money and bought a tokunbo corolla . And now he has his own car and not paying rental. All that money goes into his pocket...

He is married man with kids. So he is focus

Abeg you shut up!

When talking about driving experience you ought not to say anything.
You are not different from bolt staff that say drivers are making money but what stops them from getting on the wheels?

Someone like gazzuzz is the right person to talk about such issue. He had a fleet and also drove so he knew what drivers were facing on the field.

But he decided to withdraw all vehicles after evaluating himself that such business is not worth it.

I want to invest on Uber, money will be remmitted into my mum's account as this i'm doing without me having to be sending money down from Uk to Nigeria all the time.

Last year it caused me embarrassment from me not able to send her money due to cbn restricting the easy method i use, like through luno exchange to my naira account then to mum.

So i want to invest in Uber and i need drivers, i must please, i can import camrys or venzas for it, not that i want a neck killimg profits, i just want inflow of money for mum, so i do not have to be worried offshores where i'm always at work.

And please i will demand security deposit , not that i need this, but to be sure the person is ready before i ship vehicles over.
I will rig my vehicles with trackers and vicinity hindrance softwares just in case.

Each vehicle i imported, driver can keep it after making 50% profits from the purchase price and custom duties and shipping dues paid.

Camry or venza i will mostly import , price(including shipping and dues) of it with shipping will not be up 3million from here for the camry (spider), and the venza will not be above 5million because i'm getting it from company i have JV with for their first used official vehicles.

Thank you and that my proposal, Business is all about risk, But anyone that is honest with me, i will extend it above the Uber contract, i need peace of mind and not oga tire burst.

Scammer!!!

Guys need to be careful with people that give offers too good to be true.

He was exposed on his thread asking how to transfer money to Nigeria.
https://www.nairaland.com/6516978/please-there-remmitance-still-send

No wonder he mentioned assurance deposit which he would have used in scamming desperate drivers.

Thank you for your honest input, I Only got my mum and the little girl staying with her. Other family (extended family members are worf in sheep's clothing, let me not mention how much of techs i will use to secure the car. But i will surely do my due diligence.

If the persons are honest with the business, Then i will open more access of things for them, this is just appetizer.

Take this as my window's mite, this path you want to tow won't end well.

Like you said that your family members are not trustworthy, how else do you want to trust total strangers.
Vehicle owners that are physically available find it hard with some drivers now how hard do you think it would be for someone far away.
The drivers knowing you are far away gives them more leverage to do more harm before you get to know.

And like I said, all trackers can be disabled.

You also check the screenshot attached and I pray this won't be your situation.

Done, corolla is readily avialable with some calls, and even cheaper, thank you for suggesting that. Business one have not been into, is very good to ask questions.

Although why i wanted to start with Camry and Venza is that they are already available at my disposal. Just need to make sure i agreed with the right persons and shipments is initiated.

Also have Mack trucks at my disposal buti will be selling that off to dealers, i can not afford the headache.

Let me be very truthful to you, this kind of deal might not end well if a family member of yours is not involved.

Forget about all those trackers, they will be disabled.

You could have asked the rider to go to the car park rather than risking it.

Never make a pickup anywhere around the airport except the car parks.
