Thanks for your response guys, most appreciated. 1) I have managed to do some digging and found a letter from my previous employer that dates back to December 2017. I will include a letter as suggested. 2) I'm also still quite close with my previous employer, so shouldn't be too much of a problem getting my old payslips certified. Thanks for your help guys, I will surely update the forum on the application progress in about 4 weeks. |

Good morning all, Thank God for this platform, I wish I'd seen this straight after my initial spouse visa. I have a few questions I hope you guys can help with. 1) Although I moved in straight away with my partner when I arrived in the UK I didn't immediately change my bank details, HMRC etc. to her address as I was previously living in the UK before applying for the spouse visa, so I just used to have all my letters sent to my previous home address up until about a year ago. Although I did receive some correspondence there, they're not "offiicial documents". Is there anyway to circumvent this? 2) I changed jobs in the last 3 months from a previous job I'd been in for 2 years. Does this mean I'd have to send in 12 months worth of payslips? 3) Would I need a letter from my previous employer confirming how much I earned, or is the letter only required from my current employer? Your responses will be greatly appreciated. Thank you |

So I arrived in the U.K. In 2003 on a 2 year visit visa(I was 15 at the time). Went school, college, Uni and even got a valid N.I and started work. When I wanted to apply different solicitors just collected consultation fees and advice rubbish. Forward to 2013, I and a few friends get stopped by police(another story) and they find out I don't have my papers, I get taken to a detention centre but I put a Human Rights application in straightaway. I spent 4 weeks there before I got released. The application got refused, I then appealed to the lower tribunal and that also got refused. I then applied to appeal to the upper tribunal and that got refused also (we're now in 2015). A week after the refusal while I was still trying to put forward a Judicial Review, I got picked up at the reporting centre and got taken to a detention centre again. I decided then I was going to leave voluntarily and even after that I still spent 6 weeks there. Got to Nigeria in June 2015, married October 2016, Applied November 2016, Visa Feb 2017. So for people with adverse immigration history, don't let it scare you. I had overstayed for 8 years before I applied but still got it. Like oga Lexusgs430 would say be honest, dot all the I's and cross all the t's and you'll be good. Good luck to everyone on this journey! 2 Likes |

Mchikwaira I suggest you take a punt and go to TLS since they told you a decision has been made. I think someone did that without getting the email and their passport was there. |

Brexit isn't affecting your application because it hasn't happened yet. The wait can Ben agonizing but technically you're still within the processing times. So all you can do is keep cal and wait it out. "We have service level standards for processing UK visa applications. We will process 90% of non-settlement applications within 3 weeks, 98% within 6 weeks and 100% within 12 weeks of the application (biometric taken) date; and 95% of settlement applications within 12 weeks of the biometric taken date and 100% within 24 weeks of the application (biometric taken) date. Please note that we define 1 week as 5 working days." Captgb: |

I think at this stage all you can do is remain calm. As we've seen on this thread, no two applications are the same. Just try and relax, do something to take your mind off it. Your passport will be with you in a few days, visa included oladunni4real: |

Mate just email them to get an update on the application. There doesn't seem to be any reason why your application should be delayed. No one here can tell you why they take their time with seemingly straightforward applications.

Try and read through and you'll see a couple of people that applied through the SE route. Although from my understanding, you'd have to have HMRC documentation to show how much you've earned and tax you've paid for the year and you wouldn't be able to do this till at April at the earliest. My partner was self employed but we decided it'd be better for her to get paid employment for the application as opposed to waiting till April to submit tax assessment Marcos100: |

Foreveryours201: I reckon the 3 month processing time is frustration enough, considering priority is like 5-10 days. They'll probably come with their nonsense about it not being straightforward just to take the piss but if everything is in order no reason to get refused. |
Travel / Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by TunzAntman: 10:37am On Nov 29, 2016 |
Foreveryours201: If you're applying as a spouse, they cannot refuse you just because you've overstayed. http://www.immigrationbarrister.co.uk/Blog/settlement-in-the-uk/applying-for-entry-clearance-after-a-period-of-overstaying.html |

Lexusgs430: I understand it isn't the same. I believe the docs we have should be enough for the accommodation requirements and that can even be cross checked on the electoral roll. My question is more about filling the form where it asks for the passport numbers of everyone living in the house. |
Travel / Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by TunzAntman: 5:22pm On Nov 24, 2016 |
Lexusgs430: It's a 6 bedroom house. There is a report from a valuation company because they wanted to sell the house earlier in the year so there would have t be like 15 people in the house for it to be overcrowded. It's just a bit intrusive asking the lodger for her passport number (she's an elderly oyinbo lady from SA). So maybe put my wife's mum and bros passport numbers and leave hers blank? |

Hi Guys, I've booked my biometrics for next week and I have a question on the Financial Requirement form (Annex 2). Where it asks for the details of the other people living in sponsors property, is it absolutely necessary to include their passport numbers or will the name, relationship to sponsor and nationality suffice. My spouse lives with her mum, brother and a lodger. The mum and brothers passport numbers shouldn't be a problem but how about the lodger? Plix epp me o! |

Evening Nairaland Gurus, I'm back again! No vex o. Just a couple of questions on this online application. I will be submitting the form tomorrow, what do you suggest I put as my date of planned arrival in the UK? And also where it asks "How long do you intend to stay in the UK?" 2) I mostly communicate with the missus on whatsapp/FaceTime. I've just downloaded the chat and it like 1500 pages on the smallest possible font since I've been in Naija. How do you suggest we do this? Should we just use convos from mayne the last couple of months or a few pages from each month I've been here? Thank you! |
