You guys surprise me here, MEND and all the other ethnic warlords do not stand one chance even against the Nigerian Police (black -and-black) i.e if they are mobilized into a full scale war against them. See, what is working to the advantage of this militants is the fact that they usually cohabit with the 'innocent' villagers making any form of attack on them difficult because of the fear of civilian casualty. Seperate them from the civilians and i bet you, they would not last 24hours before they are exterminated. They are not as powerful as they make people to believe; agreed, they may have a few sophisticated weapons and maybe a jet fighter but you forget that the federal govt has thousands of such and God save their poor souls if a war is declared against them.

Another factor that works for them is propaganda, because they have the sympathy of the international press, they believe that they can oppress innocent people and once government takes action, they will cry marginalisation, intimidation,ethnic cleansing and the like. And people tend to forget that the boys have been daring the government for long ; else, how can one justify the actions of the militants which precipatated this recent crisis. They seized/hijacked 2 vessel with all the crew on board-foreign and indiginous and subjected them to all manner of inhuman treatment. They were not satisfied with that, they attacked an army gun boat with 13 soldiers on board and killed many of them. I have not included the numerous attacks on Oil installations in the region, so if the Military decided that enough-is -enough, i don't see why we should bring sentiments into it. we must learn to call a spade a spade.These boys have bitten more than they can chew. Our generation should learn to avoid sentiments when analyzing critical issues.

And don't be deceived for a minute that they are fighting for resource control, if that is what they set out to do initially, they have certainly derailed and have bastardized the struggle.What possible explaination can one give for the kidnapping of the very people you say you want to liberate,or members of the clergy who are suppose make peace or the aged?You need to have lived in the ND to appreciate what iam talking about, nobody is immun

You are not alone my bros, i feel you, i experience it evry now and then. Some of these gals talking are the one that would come after you even when they know your wife.You know, money and success changes people. Only people who have not experienced either of these can talk the way these pals are talking.
The solution to this is to avoid exchanging undue plesantries with ladies becos when it gets into their head and they turn to come for you, you can hardly resist them- married or not. The fact that one is married does not make him super-human. The things you liked about your wife before you married her, some 'eve pikins' get x 10, so it takes the grace of God to resist such. I am not talking about one who goes out to chase after woman, no, (understand my point), i am talking about the innocent guy who finds himself doing it.

Another thing that causes this is the nature of one's job. If your job exposes you to alot of ladies and bearing in mind that you are a sexy guy, you can only run away from them (gals).

Also,If ur job entails travelling away from your family for long durations and being lodged in big hotels with the tempting serenity, you only need prayers to stay away from cheating on ur spouse.

I have lots of female friends like that, that i have never imagined them as women- you know what i mean. The feelings I have for them are similar to those that i have for my sisters. And these relationships are mutually beneficial. I value this friends of mine so much and they are everything that a fellow man friend can be if not more.

This is not always the case as sometimes, one of the parties may actually be harbouring some feelings ( i guess you know what I mean). But once the terms of the union are spelt out- not neccessary with words but at times with actions and gestures- the friendship can then blossom without any 'thinking' (to put it ur way). As a matter of fact, some of my ex- girlfriends fall under this category. Once the initial feelings are overcome, the sky becomes the limit for such relationships.
So, Yes, a man and a woman can be friends without thinking.
