Dj Blinky, Adoo Kelvin Confidence is set to break the world record for the longest club Disc Jockeying. He is to play for 20 days.

He started playing at exactly 6.00pm on Monday August 20, 2018 at Slippery Lounge, Lekki, Lagos.

Adoo started his disc jockey career from secondary school in Port Harcourt, Rivers State . He has worked with radio stations including Raypower , PTC FM , and some artistes such Wanconzy and Burna Boy among others .

Asked about his family reaction to his quest , DJ Blinky said , “ My parents are late and my sisters are all married .
I ’ m the youngest child of the family . I ’ m from a family that doesn ’ t really understand music ; they don ’ t understand the entertainment world , so I ’ m the only one , even when I told them I want to come to Lagos , they were like who are you going to stay with , who do you know in Lagos. ”

“ They don ’ t know what is going on right now , except for their children who do follow me on Instagram .
After the whole event , I ’ m planning to go back for a tour and then make them understand that this is what I ’ m doing. ”

According to Guinness World Records, the current holder of the longest marathon club DJ-ing is Agboola Venmak, aka DJ Venom, from Nigeria, who played for 15 days !!

Nairaland / General / Cli: Aggrieved Psp Group Wants More From Lasg -rejects N2.5 Bn Loan by tybaba8(m): 7:53pm On Apr 26, 2018
A splinter group among the PSP operators has rejected the resolutions reached between Visionscape and majority of their counterparts.

The group, Waste Managers Association of Nigeria (WMAN) said to consist of only 30 among the more than 300 operators in Lagos has also rejected the N2.5 billion loan offered by the Lagos State Government for the PSP participants to scale up their operations.

It was however learnt that 150 PSP operators who are now known as Waste Collection Operators are already working with Visionscape while many others have indicated interest to sign the agreement reached by the stakeholders.

After several meetings of stakeholders in the waste management sector moderated by the Lagos State government, the parties agreed that Visionscape would yield the collection of waste in residential areas to the WCOs. Part of the agreement is that Visionscape would focus on developing the infrastructure needed to facilitate an effective integrated waste management system.

The CEO of Visionscape Sanitation Solutions, Mr. John Irvine, speaking on the development had noted that the new terms give the environmental utility company "the opportunity to focus on, and construct, infrastructure that is vital to the success of any waste management reform."

A representative of the PSPs Hafis Kasumu had also said: “We have decided to support the government in the initiative to get rid of the waste. And also, to partner with Visionscape. "

But the splinter group of waste collectors in a statement signed by one Alhaji Ola Egbeyemi, insisted that "there is no such thing as settlement . "

"They are insisting that we keep to commercial waste collection while Visionscape solely carries on with domestic waste collection and disposal. So, what is the settlement there? That has remained the bone of contention between us and we are telling them that it cannot work out as it will amount to taking away 80 percent of our jobs and if that happens, we will not only run out of business, all of our employees, running into about 25, 000 direct and indirect jobs will be thrown into the unemployment market," says Egbeyemi.

The members of the Egbeyemi group maintain that they are not satisfied with the one-year- contract offered to them by Visionscape as they fear that the company will dump them after its expiration.

They therefore want the government and Visionscape to yield to their own terms.

That's just one location L. Doesn't mean they are not working. These places were dirty before cleaner Lagos Initiative stated, so I wonder how they can just clear that so fast like you expect.
Give them time to gather momentum. They are working
Rome wasn't built in a day.
maeshal:
Forget this cleaner lagos initiative, i have given up them. I told them about a month ago about the waste at sunrise bus stop along oshodi apapa expressway and till now nothing has been done. The entire stretch of that road is a disaster and yet these guys keep sweeping places that require little or no attention, let them keep deceiving themselves

Was thinking same too. My thoughts about cleaner Lagos Don change
beehazel1:
Yeah right. I think this is why many people esp me thought the Visionscape was a scam because I didn't know PSP was not scraped out. This information has helped though. Nice one

Politics / Re: Filthy Lagos In Pictures: What Every Part Of Lagos Now Have In Common by tybaba8(m): 10:42pm On Mar 19, 2018
This thing people are just hating on this initiative is surprising. More waste is being made by lagosians and the government and Visionscape are doing their best to keep Lagos clean.
It's a process, it won't just happen over night.
It's barely 3 months when the Cleaner Lagos Initiative started.
I see their trucks and the CSW working every day.
So I wonder where this is coming from.
People should embrace positivity.

Do you also dispose your waste properly?

Just wait for them à bit before you criticize

Really? When were these pictures taken.
So you means it's every part of Lagos metropolis that's like this.

I choose not to believe this.
