Alexkene: Hello, Your age braket going for tourism is a big flash point for a CO. Not married, never travelled, no social ties to your country, all tilts negativelly against you. Be patient, build your profile as a previous traveller. Then come back for a U.S. visa. |

AceMiss: Hello Tzetz(please complete the rest) and other gurus in the house,I do have a question for you. A friend just got a US visa issued recently and one of the question asked at the interview was if he will be visiting any other state in the US apart from Maryland that was stated in his application and he answered "NO". Now,he is planning to travel but intends to visit newyork and chicago. Is he going to have problems at the POE and with subsequent application(he intends to be truthful when asked about it). Please what do you think He wont be bothered at the point of entry. However, he must have a clear purpose for travelling outside Maryland, he could be asked. |

Nairaland / General / Obama Slammed For Golfing Minutes After Remarks On Foley Execution by tzetzefly(m): 10:13pm On Aug 21, 2014 |
President Obama is being called out this morning for heading immediately to a golf course in Martha's Vineyard after speaking Wednesday afternoon about the gruesome beheading of American journalist James Foley by ISIS terrorists. White House correspondents said the president was on the golf course a mere eight minutes after finishing his speech. Even the New York Daily News is pointing this out, with many on social media highlighting the paper's cover. Karl Rove said this morning that Obama's words on Foley were "passionate" and appropriate, but noted that people are still asking today what Obama's strategy is for destroying ISIS. Bill Hemmer asked Rove for his reaction to the criticism over the president's golf outing, pointing out that George W. Bush also took heat for the amount of time he spent at his Texas ranch. Rove, Bush's senior adviser in the White House, recalled that Bush once regretted delivering a statement about an attack on Israel while he was vacationing in New England. "This really caused President Bush to examine his behavior in a time of war. And it ultimately caused him to decide to give up golf for the balance of his presidency because he just couldn't square the visual gap between having to make statements like the statements that President Obama had to make and being on the golf course," said Rove. Rove said Obama's advisers "made a mistake" by not realizing how the timing of the golf game would look. Hemmer asked for Rove's take on why the White House or the president himself didn't see that beforehand. Rove argued that the White House has been making a lot of "gaffes" in recent months, though he isn't sure exactly why. "I just think they're off their game. I don't know whether it's August. Maybe the White House staff needed a break. Maybe they're getting worn out. Maybe the communications mavens over there have just lost their mojo. But something recently the last couple of months has been going on with their ability to handle situations," said Rove. www.foxnewsinsider.com/2014/08/21/obama-slammed-golfing-minutes-after-remarks-foley-execution |

Largeabbey: Looks like I am going to have to renege on my words of not applying at the American embassy anytime soon. I am not only surprise but tight-lipped knowing it could now take couples of days to secure an appointment after being denied of a U.S visa. What user "Fehinebony" said about her husband being rejected and securing a visa after a short frame of time has left me wondering. Might be my turn who knows..........Well, before I decide to go on to make my payment for the visa fee I need to know if its advicable to persuade my wife to go with me even though I told the VO that she had just picked up a new job couple of months back. I doubt it if she will fall for my persuasion but I can be really insistent which will leave her with no option or should I just allow her work and go with my daugther of 4 she had for me before we got married? Tzetzefly and every other Guru on this thread please kindly take out your to look into my case and give me the best possible guide. I look forward to reading from you all patiently. For now travel someplace else with your family. Apply together again on a future date. |

charzyh2: Do you have a relative in the States? If your answer is in the negative, then you do not qualify for a tourist category (due to your age bracket and educational qualification). At this time, you only qualify for a visit visa only if you have a relative in the States. |

chloe7: Justwise and tzetzefly please help us answer this straight forward question please or rather email the embassy directly LagosNIV@state.gov because I need clarify on it , literally 3/4 of Nigerians applied for visa lottery then and from the beginning of this thread till now I'm yet to see anyone who attended the b1/b2 interview and said the v.o asked about Dv lottery if the person has tried it before or not , even the FAQ's on their website don't make provisions for such a question and even on the ds-160 form I filled I didn't see anything like that there, anyone who has seen such can please indicate so we can hear. Having to play the diversity visa lottery in itself is not a redflag for an applicant applying for a U.S. non-immigrant visa. What constitute a redflag includes: 1. When you are selected for a diversity visa (but unsuccessful during interview) and your information then and now is not consistent with the data base of the U.S. Dept of State. 2. When your name and date of birth strikes a form of resemblance with another individual who is already on the redflag radar of the U.S. State Dept 3. Almost sharing an identity with an individual who failed the U.S. administrative process previously. These situation above and more, may prompt the CO to ask further questions in order to ascertain if the previous applicant in the data base of the State Dept, is the same person as the one staring directly at him/her during interview. |

peter2010: Experts in the house, I need ur urgent useful response plz. This is my case; My last travel abroad was in january 2009 to UK though before then I had traveled to abt 5 countries in europe. When I was filling the DS-160 form I came across this question: Have you traveled to any countries within the last five years? wat should my answer be is it YES or NO. If you feel it is NO. How do I proof my travel history to the VO. Since they might assume through the form that I've nt been abroad b4. I wil appreciate ur swift response. Thanks. Your answer is a ''YES''. Your passport with entry visas is a prove of previous travel. Any statement contrary to this, is a mis-information. If you say ''NO'', it means you do not have any form of travel knowledge. This may work against you in the heat of the situation when the CO does not have the patience for additional information or when he/she needs a reason to disqualify you. |

Foreign Affairs / Iranian Plane With 40 On Board Fatally Crashes In Tehran by tzetzefly(m): 9:16am On Aug 10, 2014 |
An Iranian plane with over 40 people on board has fatally crashed near the capital, Tehran. The incident took place on Sunday morning north of the International Mehrabad Airport, IRNA reported. The Antonov An-140 aircraft belonged to a domestic airline and was scheduled to travel from Tehran to the northeastern city of Tabas when the incident occurred. A senior aviation official has said 48 people, among them several children, were on board the plane when it smashed into the ground. All passengers and crew members are feared dead. Initial reports blame an engine failure for the disaster. Iran has suffered a series of airplane crashes, blamed on its aging aircraft and poor maintenance. The latest major crash occurred in January 2011, when a passenger plane broke into pieces on impact while trying an emergency landing in a snowstorm in northwestern Iran, killing 77 people. In July 2009, a jetliner crashed in Iran’s northwest shortly after taking off from the capital, killing all the 168 people on board. In the worst air accident, an Ilyushin 76 crashed in the mountains of southeastern Iran in February 2003, killing 302 people on board. www.presstv.ir/detail/2014/08/10/374744/iranian-aircraft-crashes-in-tehran/ |
