Nairaland / General / Undergraduates Running The Most Sophisticated Fin-tech by Ubawealth: 4:17pm On Apr 12, 2021
Nigeria is the seventh most populous country in the world with a population of over 210 million citizens. What is even more interesting is about 70% of this population are young people. Which means more than half of people living in Nigeria are in their prime, agile, smart and innovative.

One of the problems Nigeria has is its inability to harness the potential of its young people. The government has failed to understand the power in human resources i.e the youth, which the country obviously has in abundance.

Instead we see situations where the young people are told that they are too young to get involved, public offices filled with aging citizens who should have retired years back and government schemes for youth are nothing more than distributing a little amount of money to a lucky few. A country with over 100 million youth has nothing to show for it.

Rather than wait till forever for the government to invest in its young people, responsible Nigerians are taking it into their hands to develop its young population. One of such scenarios I have come across is Fin-tech, Ahioma.

Ahioma.com is revolutionizing buying, selling and the entire marketplace. Ahioma is a virtual market that aids in bridging the gap between all business owners and customers to enable more sales and convenience for buyers. They are literally taking the physical market as you know it and giving it a virtual presence so you can visit any market in Nigeria, buy any product from any shop of your choice and get it delivered to you from anywhere you are in Nigeria. In less than a year this company has been able to get on-board 2000+ shops in over 100 markets in Nigeria. They help sellers sell more, buyers buy with ease and even provide employment for thousands of other young people who can register as shop owner’s assistants. In the next couple of years Ahioma has the potential of being one of the biggest fin-tech in Nigeria.

This mega fin-tech is being ran from start to finish by young people who in fact happen to be undergraduates. These undergraduates are equipped with numerous talents and skills to effectively run such an organisation and they are very good at it. The entire structure of this fin-tech is a marvel to behold by creating a unique commerce ecosystem where everyone eis at an advantage.

Even while in school, coupled with the numerous challenges that Nigeria students are faced with, a group of undergraduates are building and growing the next big thing this country has ever known. They have defiled all odds to develop an innovative platform that cuts across all industries and are working day and night, all year round to manage and grow it and I strongly believe that in no distance time this group of young people doing amazing things with the Ahioma platform will be recognised worldwide.

You can be a part of this amazing platform by registering your shop, ordering a products from any shop on the platform or earn unlimitedly by becoming a shop owner's assistant. Visit www.ahioma.com to find out more.
Jobs/Vacancies / Ahioma, A Strong Solution To Unemployment by Ubawealth: 6:15pm On Apr 08, 2021
Nigeria used to be a source of hope for young people. Undergraduates were happily going to school knowing that they were jobs waiting for them o n the outside. Graduates were handed over jobs shortly after graduation. You can say that it was a sweet time for the labour market. Demand was clearly higher than the supply of labour and people with the necessary qualifications were cashing out big.

That was the Nigeria of before and we can see that the Nigeria of today is an entirely different story. Gradually what used to be a sweet labour market became bitter. When universities were busy chunking out large quantities of graduates the labour market was becoming overly saturated and there was no place for them in the labour market. Supply of labour increased without a corresponding increase in demand. The resulting effect? Unemployment.

Coupled with poor leadership and a percentage increase of about 300% over the last five years, it is safe to say that we are faced with massive unemployment in Nigeria. It's no wonder we were announced the poverty capital of the world. What is expected of a country where way more than half of the population is unemployed?.

Some like to say, ‘Education is the key but the government threw away the padlock’. So if the government is dysfunctional and education is no longer a guarantee to employment, what then is?

It is now evident that we need to design a sustainable system for ourselves in a market that will never be over saturated, a market that would always exist with enough room for everyone to thrive. This is no different from the market as you know it. Take it or leave it people would always need to go to the market to buy one thing or the other because you can not have it all and would need to trade something for another.

Creating an inclusive and innovative marketplace is what we need in Nigeria. A market place where everyone can benefit at every point in time, directly or indirectly.

Let us take Ahioma as our case study. These guys have taken the marketplace to a whole new height. Now imagine a situation where all the shops in your neighbouring market are all together in one virtual space. The concept of Virtual Market has been created to bridge the gap between all the players in a typical market setting forming one of the world’s largest commercial ecosystem that satisfies every player. These players include storeowners, logistics companies, digital marketers and smartphone users, you and I.

With Ahioma the unemployed can find employment in the ever-growing telecommunication industry as a means for an additional stream of income by becoming a shop owner assistant (SOA) and earn commission from every sale carried out by your shop. SOAs as coined by Ahioma Marketing Services Ltd are middle men marketers who

· Sign up shops Ahioma.ng

· Educate shop owners on usage of the platform

· Help Shop Owners upload products to the platform

· Drive sales traffic on affiliated shops via digital marketing

· Refer and bring up other SOAs from which they 5% on sales from downliner's affiliated shops

An SOA is paid 25% of Ahioma’s revenue from the price of every product sold In their affiliated shops and 5% for every product sold from referee SOA’s affiliated shops. An SOA is also allowed to work and earn from multiple shops and there is no limit to how much you can earn.

This is a very wonderful opportunity indeed and definitely a solution to unemployment in Nigeria. The market is always going to exist, the world is going digital and Ahioma has been strategically built to suit it.

When there is a buyer that wants to buy a product, there is a seller to sell and a shop owner assistant to connect them while he/she earns. With this model both the old and the young, graduates and undergraduates, employed and unemployed alike can earn a living or add to their stream of income.

Does the Ahioma business model pass the sustainability test? Yes it does. Is it big enough for everyone to benefit?Yes, it is. Is it the solution to unemployment we have been searching for? Think about it.

Nairaland / General / Re: Welcome To The Era Of Fake Items/products : Buy9ja.ng by Ubawealth: 4:52pm On Mar 31, 2021
incredible36:
This is what I experienced when I ordered for my own Smart Band Wrist Watch.
I came across an ads on my facebook page... buy9ja.ng and I saw lots of items at affordable rate. So I decided to get a Smart Watch "115 plus Smart Band Sport Waterproof Fitness Smart Watch-Black" to be precise.
I placed an order that very day and it took them seven (7) working days before they could deliver my item. That didn't bother me because I believe I have finally gotten my own Smart Watch - Fitness Tracker. I only switch it on & off when I collected it, to be sure its working.
After I got back inside my house to test what I just brought online, then I experience this trending topic of "WHAT I ORDERED vs WHAT I GOT" It was very annoying that the Smart Band I just brought wasn't anything near Smart. It wasn't connecting to Bluetooth neither was any of the smart features working (Blood pressure, Navigation, fitness & Heath tracker etc.)
I couldn't believe what was running through my brain... So I went online to find more details about the Smart Watch, I went as far has typing the name as it was been written on the website. The first thing on the search was a youtube videos explaining how to use that very item. I immediately clicked on the video, Lo & behold I immediately believed what was running through my head that I've just gotten a fake item from a popular Online Nigeria Selling Platform Buy9ja.ng
But I didn't stop there. I went back to their facebook page to lodge my complains under that very same item... Then I begin to see various bad comments about them....... It was then I knew I have been duped and that they only sell fake products & items.

My Candid Advise for every ₦airalanders: Bad experiences shopping online can vary from slow or non-delivery of goods right through to scams where people lose money.
When shopping on the internet, whether a website, online marketplace or social media platform, it's not always easy to know who you're dealing with. For example, just because a web address ends in '.co.uk' there's no guarantee that the business is based in the UK - check the seller has a UK contact address. Please let's be guided because scammers are everywhere.

I absolutely agree with you. Shopping on the internet can be very tricky. What i would advice is that we do a thorough research on the online shop or company we want to place an order with. ask questions like what is their operation policy, who is responsible for my money, how long does it take before I get my ordered product(s), who is responsible if there is a default, why should i trust them.

I have used a couple of online shops for buying what I want but for a while I have been using www.ahioma.com. I have enjoyed my experience with them so far. they are very fast and intentional about good customer service. You can check them out for yourself.
