Religion / Re: Who Is Your Favorite Gospel Singer? by uche13: 11:12am On Aug 23, 2010
on the Nigerian scene i think my old time favourite will be panam percy paul. This man single handedly contributed a lot to the gospel industry in Nigeria and most of his songs are still being sang as choruses in churches till date and he is sure scandaless. wish he can be invited for experience this year cos am sure he sure will take us back to the good days of bring down your glory 1 and 2

My favourite bible verses vary from time to time depending on the particular season of my life. For now it is isaiah43:18-19
"Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold I will do a new thing, Now it shall sprIng forth;shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

Though i have nothing against him personally, i wonder why he is acting that way, did he tell his congregation before he took loan from the bank on behalf of his company resurrection power limited. He complained that the bank wants to embarass him as naming him as a party when he did not take the loan in his personal capacity, but the truth is that he personally guaranteed the loan and once there is a default in repayment, the bank has the right to sue the personal guarantor. It is just a pity that he is known because this is the normal procedure. Its unfair to have acted in that manner, i had to confirm the story and found out that he actually told the members that the bank will close up and it lead to a mass withdrawal of funds from the bank. I know for a fact that the bank wont close up because a curse causeless is off course.

Food / Your Best Noodles by uche13: 1:56pm On Jul 23, 2010
Without prejudice to all the nodles that abound in the Nigerian market, i just seem to prefer indomie CHICKEN FLAVOUR noodles to all dem noodles. I have tried to be accommodating as in to try all the others like chikki, golden penny, mimi(esp during the period of the v.nice advert) and the recently introduced dangote noodles but i seem to run back to my indomie chicken and i hear this frm lots of peeps. Even the other indomie flavours never worked for me. Abeg wetin indomie put for this chicken flavour that makes it so addictive or is it just me? abeg whats ur best noodles int the Nigerian market.

Not every argument deserves an answer, it only leads to the derailing of a topic. There are certain things that can never be explained logically. Why are we surprised, even the bible clearly stated it in 1st corithians2:14.
Back to the topic, im sure this is the same feeling peter had at the transfiguration that made him say that he wishes to build a tabernacle that they may abide there forever. At such moments, nothing in life seem to matter, the things of the world grow strangely dim as u fix ur eyes on the master and u never want to leave but abide in His presence.

Yes i agree with u. Depression is caused by a demon. i read a book by Rick Joyner where the lord gave him the definition og depression which simply means deeply pressed. May God help us.
Religion / Re: Is Rccg And Pastor Adeboye Obliged To Return Akingbola Looted Offering? by uche13: 1:44pm On Jul 22, 2010
@baslone
you didnt answer my question. If u didnt know ur boss was involved in some shady deals and he gives u a bonus from the loot, will u be made to return it. The question is simple
Religion / Re: How Come Other Pastor In Christ Embassy Dont Work Mirracles Except Chris ? by uche13: 1:02pm On Jul 22, 2010
Ha, this is not fair at all. Yes i admitted that some members of cec are not jst it but am sure udnt have any tape or book where P.chris asked people to exalt, worship or take his word more seriously than the word of God. I bet he never encourages that. Lets seperate members personality and not think that is how things operate. This peole are wat i call activity brethren grin who always want to protect the man of God. Remember that even Jesus did nt ask peter to protect him when he cut the ear of one of the soldiers. I ask that u take some time and listen to some of his tapes and see or hear things for urselves.
Religion / Re: Is Rccg And Pastor Adeboye Obliged To Return Akingbola Looted Offering? by uche13: 12:47pm On Jul 22, 2010
I wonder y we r always sentimental when the issue of church and pastors are discussed. i know for a fact that pastor adeboye WILL never encourage anyone to steal and give to the church. His messages are filled with holiness and teachings about Heaven. He even discourages any dishonest kind of living. But the question is that the church right from the time of Christ (even among 12 disciples there was still a thief) is filled with mixed multitudes, of genuine believers and those who are merely deceiving themselves. Do u expect a man who has over a million members to be auditing them individually before they bring an offering into church. Should he be asking for members payslips b4 accepting an offering. That is impossible, he can only do his bit by preaching the word of God simply.is it because Akingbola is a notable personality, even if this is done for him and others of his caliber, how can the pastor confirm that even the N20.00 offering given by a conductor is not the change of a passenger that the conductor deliberately made him forget. So what measure will be put to determine the honesty of market women, or messengers in the office who inflate costs or even those in business. Nobody has been able to answer the question of whether unilag shouldnt return the building donated by akingbola or other charitable organisations that he gave to. I ask this question, if ur boss gives u a bonus of a million based on the high profit made by the company that year and it is discovered that the profit was made thru fraudulent deeds, will u return the money or the car u bought with the money? We can not encourage the looting of monies but no one can fault the church either unless u can post a message by Pastor Adeboye where he encouraged people to steal and give to church.

Yes i have experienced it countless times. Thats the reason i value times of worship alone wit the father because people may not be able to comprehend u at that point. When u r in God's presence, u get awed at the magnificence of His glory and u cant just stop the tears flowing freely.

I understand you my brother, though there may be no biblical boundaries as to "how far is too far" , i feel the Spirit of God guides every child of God. we can not deceive ourselves by saying that "afterall we are not going all the way"Though its hard, i intend taking that wonderful kiss at the altar in the presence of God as we(hubby and i) are declared one flesh. We all need God's grace cos it aint easy at all.

@joagbajie
I never referred to you in person but im beginning to wonder at your line of argument and that of donnie. You said you need to defend the truth and i must ask you who sent you to. God never gave anyone the assignment to advocate on His behalf but as christians we should shun unnecessary arguments. If you have a point to make you can do that in love and i assure you that the other party would always know when you are just trying to inform rather than score points at all cost. I hope you know that you canwin an argument beautifully but that doesnt mean you have won the soul of that person which is paramount. Lets shun all this superfluity of knowledge but rather let God do what He knows how to do best. You dont have to come here and state how ignorant of the gospel many nairalanders are. How about staying in the confines of your room and praying for them to receive Christ. I implore you to ask yourself how many people you have beeen able to convince through all the pages of argument. The answer is none but you have rather helped convince them further against your belief. When i was in the university, whenever i go for evangelism or in general, i try to avoid talking about church. I preach CHRIST and let people be the judge of my belief. My brother, i must tell you that many people were amazed that i am a christ-embassy member of about nine years. All i hear is how you have them change their attitude towards the church and i dare let you know that i have had any people come to church in that process(im not trying to sing my praise) because evangelism is primarily the work of the Holy-Spirit and we are His vessels. So please out with the US V. THEM mentality cos we are one in Christ and not in a debate competition. God bless you
Religion / Re: Women On Trousers In The Church by uche13: 6:12pm On Jul 15, 2010
I will contribute in my own little way here. I have always felt and thought thatfemales wearing trousers are actually committing a great sin because of what i was brought up to blieve until i did my own personal study. Firstly what the bible meant in Deut 22: 5 is that a woman should not wear that which pertaineth unto a man. Pertaineth actually means  to belong. The woman in the old testament was viewed at as an unclean creature due to her monthly period which she experiences. She was actually made to leave the camp of the israelites during the duraton of her menses and whatever she touch was deemed unclean. The bible stated that a woman should not wear what belongs to a man meaning wat a man has worn because by so doing, he would be defiled when he wears it. On the other hand, even if the bible meant for a woman not to wear the clothings of men, what i find absurd is the way that verse of scripture is singularly picked out. If you study the whole chapter of the bible indeut 22, you will wonder why that verse is preached about particularly. There is no reference to that verse in any place in the bible that accords it a higher placement than the others but what we do is to just single out that verse and make a doctrine out of it. Why havent we tried to enforce the other verses in that chapter? The laws there were for the isrealites and we cant even keep to them no matter how we try. The key word is to be modest, you can commit a sin with your trouser it being to tight and all as well as the type of skirt worn. Therefore keep it modest peope. By the way no one complains when women wear ties and sing in the choir or even boots etc.
Religion / Re: How Come Other Pastor In Christ Embassy Dont Work Mirracles Except Chris ? by uche13: 2:15pm On Jul 15, 2010
Another thing is this, through my years in the church and the body of Christ i have seen a lot, i know that we may have peole around us who go to christ embassy and to churches in general who potray the ministry in bad light. the fact still remains that no church is perfect. I will never say mine is because i have seen a lot that makes me to know that christianity is personal but one thing i know is that there are faults everywhere because we are in the endtime now. All i know to do is to serve my God and am pursuing a deeper relationship with Him daily because at the end of the day there wont be church in heaven grin. So my advise is that we should not say things we dont have a concrete evidence about as per all the stories of fake healings etc. I have been there and i know that miracles happen and we are taught the most important of all which is salvation. Perhaps even if the miracles are fake it does not in anyway mean that miracles generally are fake cos God's word is supreme.

Hi, i have taken time to read the comments of everyone on this thread and though i have always been an ardent follower on nairaland, i was forced to comment but once. Firstly, though i am first a christian and a member of christ-embassy, i find it annoying at the manner some members of christ-embassy comment and i must confess that they are the real problem of the church by the way they narrowly respond to issues and act as if they were sent by Pastor Chris to always defend him aimlessly through blindless arguments. I am a born again child of God who is aware that i am first accountable to God and not man. I believe the bible which is God's word and any teaching i receive either from Pastor Chris or any other Pastor must be tested by the word because God doesnt speak selectively to just some peeps. From what i can see from comments, most people dont doubt the ability of God to heal in our generation and even Jesus prayed in John 14 v.12 that the works He did on earth shall we do and greater works shall we further do. This does not make us greater than Jesus and im sure Pastor Chris never said that. I used to douth the authencity of Pastor Chris before i joined the church but in my years of attending i can verily well say that the what we see from the outside is not the true state of things, no thanks to some bad examples. But the fact is that the truth is preached, you get to know ur rights in Christ and how to exercise it and i make bold to say that we are taught that you dont need to go to your pastor for prayers because the word makes us understand that we all have the Spirit of God in us and can learn to grow our faith accordingly.This
means that every christian can pray for themselves and others.Working of miracles is not an exclusive right of some christians but its just that healing is among the gifts of the Spirit listed in 1st cor12 and therefore it maybe evident in some more than others so the fact that the Holland Pastor doesnt work miracles dosent mean he was ordered not to. In fact thats the purpose of the Monthly night of bliss in churches so that chapter Pastors may learn to grow their faith. i have seen and experienced miracles in the church and as a proof, i have an aunt who had glaucoma and never believed in christ embassy get healed in the healing school She was among my family members that criticised us but she knows better now. I have been blessed by the ministry immensely
