Politics / Four Notable Nigerian Prophets Who Predicted Nnamdi Kanu Will Be Released by uche87(m): 2:46pm On Apr 25, 2017
At the beginning of this year, some notable Nigerian men of God had predicted that secessionist leader, Nnamdi Kanu will be released this year, it seems like the prophecy will finally come true.

The decision of a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja to grant bail to the embattled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu on health ground might soon give credence to the prophecies made by a number of Nigerian men of God at the beginning of the year that the Biafra leader will regain his freedom this year.

Kanu was arrested on the 14th of October, 2015 at the Golden Tulip Essential Lagos Airport Hotel and has been in prison for over 2 years.

Four notable Nigerian prophets had predicted that Nnamdi Kanu will be released from prison this year and having taken the first step - securing his bail - based on logistics, the words of these men of God might actually come true. Could these men of God have actually seen the future? Well, that discuss will be left for another day as I give you the list of the four notable men of God who predicted Kanu's freedom.

Four Nigerian prophets who predicted Nnamdi Kanu's release

1. Prophet Emmanuel Chukwudi of King of Kings Deliverance Church had in his prophecies for 2017 stated categorically clear that Nnamdi Kanu will be released this year and that would lead to the actualization of Biafra. He made the prophecy in Asaba, Delta State.

However, Chukwudi added that towards the end of 2019, President Muhammadu Buhari’s health will fail him and he “shall go the way of all men.” It is yet to be seen if the second prophecy about Buhari will come to pass.

“Tell pro-Biafrans to stop shedding tears. Their leader Nnamdi Kanu shall not remain in prison custody for too long again. He is already on his way out. As for their (pro-Biafrans) agitations for Biafra, the Lord says it is already in the horizon. Their day shall come soon”.

“The Lord is also speaking about Nigeria. Nigeria will come out of its current recession before the end of 2019. Oil price will stabilize and hardship shall disappear.

“But towards 2019, the president’s health shall fail him, and he shall go the way of all men. But VP Yemi Osinbajo shall wrestle with the soldiers. They shall try to seize power and Osinbajo shall prevail. He shall lead Nigeria into 2019.” Chukwudi said.

2. Another notable man of God, Prophet Princewill Iheme also predicted among other things that President Muhammadu Buhari would release the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu.
In his own words, he said: “My fellow Nigerians, I'm not afraid to deliver God's message the only thing that can happen to a man is death which is the biological zero point of a man.
Every human being must die one day.”

“God revealed to me that President Donald Trump can't give Biafra. The only thing that can give Biafra is unity among the Biafrans. The Biafra agitators are not united so how do you think that Biafra will stand as a country? If all Biafrans unite together as one they will get Biafra before one year. So if you need Biafra there must among Biafrans first.”

Prophet Iheme restated: “President Buhari will release Kanu soon. But Donald Trump cannot give Biafra.”

3. Pastor of the Champions Royal Assembly, an Abuja based church, Bro Joshua Iginla also predicted the release of Nnamdi Kanu with his 72 prophecies for the year 2017. Pastor Iginla had said that agitation of Biafra will take another turn and that Kanu Nnamdi, the Biafra leader will face health challenge.

"The agitation of Biafra will take another turn. Pray so that this time it should not be bloody. We should pray for Kanu Nnamdi, the biafra leader, because I see an health challenge and I see bitterness and agitation from thissame region he is coming from. And I pray the current administration is very sensitive over the case of Nnamdi Kanu because what I see is not too good. May the Lord keep Nigeria. Will he come out? Yes! How will he come out? I can’t really tell. I see it as something divine. I don’t see legal issue as a means of removing him from there." he prophecied.

4. Also, an Enugu-based man of God, Prophet Anthony Nwoko
foresaw the release of Nnamdi Kanu. He had earlier in the year predicted that Kanu will regain his freedom this year.

Nwoko also said that Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari will not die in office as purportedly prophesied by some people who he described as fake prophets, saying that they not of God.

“Some said President Buhari will die but I am telling the world that President Buhari will not die as that prophecy is not from God Almighty, Buhari will see the rebirth of Biafra from Nigeria”. Nwoko stated.

While speaking during his New Year prophetic message titled: ‘2017 a year of liberation for Biafra’ Nwoko said that 2017 is a golden jubilee of Biafra spiritual battle in Nigeria, adding that the storm is over.

Prophet Nwoko who is neither married nor has children said Biafra as a nation will show the light, but warned the Igbos not to deride the plan of God for them in this period of realisation as that will bring more hardship on them. He stressed that there is going to be the return of Igbo glory adding, “Ndigbo has run the race; and only those who have run the race well will be crowned.

“So in 2017 God will lift Igbo nation above other nations; 2017 is a year all the Igbo detainees across the 36 states of Nigeria on account of agitation for Biafra will be released”.

Politics / Mother Of Nigerian Soldier Going Blind After Boko Haram Killed Her Only Son by uche87(m): 4:07pm On Apr 21, 2017
A former The Cable editor and investigative journalist with special interest in the spate of Boko Haram insurgency in the north-east has reported the sorry plight of a woman after the demise of her soldier son who died fighting terrorists.

Multiple award-winning Nigerian journalist, Fisayo Soyombo has reported the case of an abandoned family of a slain Nigerian soldier whose mother is set to go blind as she suffers from an eye defect that needs prompt medical attention.

Mr. Soyombo took to his Facebook page on the 18th of April, 2017 to share the heart-rendering story of the poor woman who currently lives from hand to mouth and can't cater for her medical bills.

The story which exalts the influence of the Nigerian army in containing the Boko Haram insurgency over the years was titled "He Died For You - But He's Not Jesus Christ"

Read his story below:

Many of you are returning to work today after an extended four-day weekend made possible by the Christian celebration of Jesus Christ’s supreme sacrifice for the redemption of the world. Today, I will tell you about a man who gave his life for you and me — just that we don’t know him, much less acknowledge or celebrate his sacrifice.

For 12-and-a-half years, his parents were childless. His father, rich at the time and the proud owner of two cars, withstood pressure from his family to take another wife. “No way”, he told them. “Child or no child, my wife and I share a love that will continue like that.”

But his wife eventually conceived. When she put to bed, it was a boy. That was on July 9, 1985. Twenty-six years later, boy decides to join the Nigerian army, and he is soon drafted into the hunt for Boko haram insurgents. Once, in late 2014, he escaped death by the skin of his teeth, crawling more than four miles to safety after a brutal Boko Haram attack. He bruised his hands and legs in the process but after a few weeks in the hospital, he returned to the battlefield in January 2015.

On February 14, 2015 — perhaps at a time when many of us were snuggled up to our lovers or even busy ‘going the whole hog’ — he readied himself for one more onslaught on Boko Haram. Ahead of that trip, he wrote on social media: Well, nothing more 2say, we are going back 2 recapture our #‎monguno base 2day, I must fulfill my vow 4my country…my faith is one and ever! THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA.

It turned out to be his very last operation; he never returned. On March 19, 2015, he was buried in Maiduguri. This was a man who died fulfilling his vow to his country. Did his country fulfill its to him? More than two years since he fell in battle, the army has not paid his family their entitlement. But that’s not why I’m writing.

As part of field work for my book on the insurgency, I recently met the late soldier’s mother in Amansiodo Village in Ezeaga LGA of Enugu (pictured) and — much as I tried — I failed to hold back my tears. Even my sturdily-built friend who accompanied me on the trip couldn’t, too. This woman, despite ‘donating’ her son to this country, has cataract and is gradually going blind. Doctors have said she will lose her right eye if it isn’t operated upon soon enough. Tragically, it is her slain son who always promised to take care of that eye!

“He promised me that he would care for me because of my eyes,” the grief-stricken woman told me. “But I look around me every day and I don’t see him again. There’s no one to help me again. I don’t know what I’ll do; I’m tired.”

I was so moved by her anguish that I’ve chosen to momentarily forget that the interviews were meant for an upcoming book, and instead let out this bit for public consumption. I have decided to raise funds for this woman’s eye operation. If we raise more than the medical cost, she’ll have the rest for upkeep.
And I do not see it as service if we give to this woman; I consider it OUR RESPONSIBILITY. I can explain it.

I’ve noticed that south-westerners often underestimate the scale of the havoc that the bellicose Abubakar Shekau was bent on unleashing on this country. Having travelled to Borno extensively, I can confirm that were it not for the thousands of soldiers laying down their lives in the north-east, the insurgency would surely have spread to the south-west. And maybe I would be dead by now. Maybe even you reading this would be a corpse already.

We have enjoyed peace in these parts because some people gave their lives up; if there’s a chance to show their families some gratitude, let’s try!
If you’re willing to donate to the mother of this slain soldier, please inbox me on Facebook (or email me: platfom@gmail.com — no letter 'r') and I will send you the family’s account details within 24 hours. And not just am I making a public appeal for funds — I will send my own contribution as well.

Finally, anyone who donates can be sure of accountability. On my honour! When all this is over, I will put up a public post detailing how much we’ve succeeded in generating.

Are you doubting that this soldier deserves your money, particularly in this period of economic recession? Well, I personally have no doubt — because he is 'my Jesus Christ'. He gave up his life for me, why can’t I give up my money for him?

Politics / Osborne Towers N13 Billion: A Peek At Buhari's Macabre Dance With The Looters by uche87(m): 7:07pm On Apr 17, 2017
President Muhammadu Buhari's warplanes attacking the camps of venal elements in the country on Wednesday - the 12th of April, 2017 might have accidentally hit the roof of his 'extended family house' with a big bomb just like the Rann mishap in Borno State where over 236 internally displaced people were consequently killed as result of an expensive military miscalculation.

The embattled Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu in an assumed thirsting bid to impress the Presidency to the dismay of the Nigerian Senate dramatically uncovered gargantuan amount of monies calculated to be N13 billion in a luxury apartment at the prestigious Osborne Towers in Ikoyi, Lagos. Operatives of the EFCC reportedly swung into action following a tip-off from a whistleblower. The anti-corruption boss - Magu who had earlier unearthed some stray monies – N49 million at the Kaduna airport, N449 million in an abandoned Bureau de Change building in Victoria Island, Lagos and another N250 million at the popular Balogun market in Lagos Sate must have seen the intelligence report as another avenue to excite the Presidency as well as the general public about his competency and tenacity; so he broke the news on social media straight away.

In fact, the news was backed with a video footage that afforded netizens to watch hard currencies being painstakingly counted in a recessive period where money is as rare as pure gold. Magu was beginning to relish his hero moments before he later discovered that the whistle was blown in a sacred building indirectly connected to his principal’s camp.

Initially, I found it inconceivable that humongous sums of money specifically $43,449,947, £27,800 and N23, 218,000 will be seized in an apartment and the owner will be nowhere to be found. It was clear the powerful owner spent over 48hrs seeking soft landing from appropriate authorities. Even the EFCC left Sahara Reporters and other investigative news platforms to have a field day with erroneous reports linking the seeming illicit funds to prominent Nigerians like Esther Nnamdi Ogbue - the immediate-past managing director and chief executive officer of the downstream sector of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, former chairman of the People's Democratic Party - Adams Mu'azu, daughter of former PDP Board of Trustees chair - Tony Anenih, Senator representing Lagos West constituency – Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, Chief Executive Officer of Ebony Life TV - Mo Abudu, former Rivers State Governor & current Minister of Transport, Hon. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi and lately former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan before the ostensibly dormant National Intelligence Agency came to claim the funds with an official narrative that may never sway a mentally-retarded person.

Under normal circumstances, the EFCC will conventionally issue a press release concerning the feat through its Head of Media and Publicity, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren or simply through Facebook just like the similar saga of the former General Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Andrew Yakubu whose mini-bank in a Kaduna slum with a capital of N3.04 billion was exposed. But on the contrary, premier anti-graft agency has maintained a loud and embarrassing silence thereby giving us the impression that the culprit caught red-handed might metaphorically be the King's only son whose mark of royalty places him above the law.

As concerned Nigerians tried to fill in the blank spaces, PDP political warhorse of the South-south, Governor Nyesom Wike raised his hoarse voice to the highest pitch to claim the orphaned funds on behalf of Rivers State. According to him, the funds belong to his former ally turned sworn foe, Mr. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi who allegedly sold gas turbines during his tenure as governor of Rivers state to an oil company, Sahara Energy and then prodigally diverted the proceeds. A former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani Kayode who has seen more court rooms than a lawyer in recent times corroborated the weighty allegations of Wike who was also supported by a former deputy chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus.
Fiery legal practitioner and activist, Mike Ozekhome - a thorn in the flesh of the EFCC in the court room has also alleged that a minister serving under Buhari is the owner of the orphaned funds.

In the absence of an official statement by the EFCC as well as the Federal Government concerning the apparent slush funds, one could join the aforementioned public figures to presume that a politician who must have played strategic and pivotal roles in the emergence of the ruling party, All Progressives Congress at the centre owns the cash and all efforts are being made to secure his identity.

Concealing the face of this person is going to be herculean following the failure of the NIA to convince Nigerians that the funds were allocated for a ‘covert project’. Another brightly coloured red flag was the decision of the NIA to warehouse the funds in a private luxury apartment despite the proliferation of financial institutions in the 21st century coupled with improved means of electronic funds wiring. One also wonders what clandestine project would require such a volume of money that could be utilized to raise a private militia against the state.

Aside regarding the action as a potential case of money laundering, one could safely say it betrays the principle of accountability obtainable in a democracy as the usage of public funds of that magnitude remains undisclosed. This creates a safe haven for corruption to prosperously breed like a seedling planted by the river side.
President Buhari is currently in a close shave caused by the ambitious or overzealous nature of Magu. The old man rumoured to be struggling with his health again has decided to keep mom and let Nigerians have a field day wagging their tongues and making wild guesses. The brief response by the presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina has aggravated an already bizarre situation if we are to weigh his words on an intellectual scale. Adesina spoke from the two sides of his mouth when he told a Premium Times reporter that the NIA's involvement with the orphaned money is more of a 'security issue than a Presidency issue', hence he had no comments on the matter. That utterance if true could be regarded as an insensate play on words if one is to be blunt with him for a second.
Adesina should be reminded that a working Presidency will not shy away from security issues. The protection of the lives and properties of the citizens of the state is one of the primary responsibilities of the government. What if those funds were reserved for the financing of terrorism? It’s been over 8 years now we don’t know the financiers of the Boko Haram sect.

This saga confirms the public view that Buhari has been harbouring some sacred cows under his tent. In fact, some political analysts will tell you in affirmation that there is no difference between the ruling APC and the opposing PDP as both parties exchange members on a daily basis. Most of the political juggernauts flying the flag of the APC contributed immensely to the stinking rot in the PDP which plunged Nigeria into perpetual backwardness. APC seems to be where their redemption lies as they become saints the moment they cross-carpet under any guise.

This saga of the orphaned Osborne Tower billions gives credibility to the assertion that Buhari's highly-celebrated anti-corruption war is selective. As painted by the newspaper cartoons, when the rampaging angels of the war see ‘the broom’ – emblem of the APC on the roof of your house, they will pass over you.
The verbose governor of Ekiti and staunch critic of this present administration, Ayodele Peter Fayose has reiterated that Buhari's anti-corruption quest is a hole-and-corner plot to muzzle dissenting voices and potential political threats. He could be right because from the look of things, the 2019 presidential election might be a walk over for Buhari as the unclothedness of potential PDP competitors have been duly exposed by the ill wind of anti-corruption.

The Osborne Tower saga will remain indelible in the history of Nigeria when the potency of Buhari's anti-graft war which is his selling point is being reviewed by political pundits. This is a litmus test for the level of transparency and impartiality of the anti-grant campaign which Buhari might not mind failing for political advantage. As a die-hard supporter of Buhari who has been deemed one of the few Nigerian leaders with integrity, I am not really appalled by his action or inaction concerning the scandal. I am more disappointed in the country as a whole. It burns my heart that there is little or no hope for the youths whose fathers, guardians, family members or friends are not connected to the ruling class as their future is being stashed in both foreign and local bank accounts, private buildings and other awkward places to avoid suspicions.

These money-grabbing politicians make up the governmental structure and they can't be questioned or else their challenger might work alone like the Borno-South senator, Ali Ndume or the House of Representatives member, Abdulmumin Jibrin who are both serving lengthy suspensions for debatable offences.
The real owner of the funds could be Buhari's political backbone and financier. The last thing a sane man will want to do is to start a fight in his house because he will pay for it dearly with his sleep. One of the reasons why Buhari spent 49 days on a medical vacation in London, United Kingdom without any major threat to his esteemed seat is because of the calibre of people on his side. These people make him and without them, his political influence and authority could begin to wane. He will reciprocate their loyalty by wielding his government powers to protect them from the looming consequences of their grave sins against humanity. It's a Cul-de-sac for Nigerians and Nigeria as a whole. The only panacea to the quagmire might be the Armageddon. Let's end it all and allow the Supreme Being in heaven – God to judge us all impartially on the final day according to the provisions of the Islamic/Christian faith.

On a closing note, I sincerely urge Nigerians not to lose faith in Buhari. This battle against graft is far from perfection but it’s sacrosanct at least for the future of the country. Anti-graft war is a very minacious and emotive battle capable of turning a hero into a villain due to quantum of resources available to the bad guys. In a country like Nigeria founded on lies and deceit, if the war is to be impartial, Saint Buhari might be forced to arrest himself before others due to the questionable and unclear sources of the APC election campaign funds.

I have always argued that the war against corruption can never be unprejudiced and non-partisan as far as politics is a game of numbers and defection of party members is rife as it is in Nigeria. The desperation of politicians to amass supporters at all costs towards winning the election creates future hassles for the political leaders. They end up embracing the potential enemies of the state and also accepting financial support from them to prosecute the election.
It was the fatal mistake PDP made with a former Borno State governor - Senator Ali Modu Sheriff according to Fani Kayode in his article titled "Who Has Bewitched the PDP?”

These high-profile miscreants constantly exploiting the polity for their elitist interests will end up forming the bulk of foundation supporters of the well-intentioned election winner. Fighting them might be morally correct but politically it is wrong and suicidal. Waging a war against them results into two major odds; it's either the fighter ends up walking alone exposed without supporters under the harsh political weather or he is dragged in the mud as they are like pigs.

This agrees with a popular Yoruba saying which goes thus: "Ti enu ba je, oju ma ti", in English language, it means someone that has been bribed or has benefitted from the proceeds of stealing will surely abstain from the truth.

It hurts to be Buhari right now, I am sure this issue would have been effortlessly swept under the carpet if Magu didn't go public about the funds without contacting the Presidency.

Education / Beautiful Lady Who Graduated With Third Class Shares Her Touching Story (Photos) by uche87(m): 12:02pm On Apr 07, 2017
Since the revelation that a Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye graduated with Third Class honours from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna, more Nigerians with the same class of degree have been speaking out.

A lady identified as Atinuke who is the CEO of Gizzelles Place has discussed how she bagged her Third Class degree at the Tai Solarin University of Education, Ogun State despite starting high school as a top student.

Atinuke who is currently running a successful make-up business in Lagos has narrated her story on Instagram with the moral lesson that Third Class honours graduates deserve respect.

Senator Dino Melaye's travails have given Third Degree holders the boldness to come out, as he has turned out a very successful politician.

Read Atinuke's story below:

Pree that Honors behind that class of degree. Yea, that's 3rd class Honours, therefore ladies and gentlemen, don't pronounce 3rd class without respect.

It's 3rd class Honours! That was what I presented my parents with after 4 years of hardwork.

While some parents Will say "is that what all your mates are bringing home?" my parents knelt me down and prayed for me. Lemme take you on a quick trip to my educational background. I remember one afternoon when I ran to my mom's shop in Iyana Ipaja garage with one of my books on my hand to show her that I can now write the number 8 correctly.

Lemme not confuse you, for a long time you see, I always wrote the number 8 by putting two zeroes on top of each other though I was the best in class. My mom and the other market women laughed at my childishness. You can never know how happy I was on that day. In JSS1, I was enrolled to a girls only government school in agege. I was in JSS1p and we were 150 in my class. Yes 150. After our first term exams, my class teacher, a woman whom I had never seen before came to the class to share our report cards. She started calling positions from the 10th downwards and asking us all to clap as they identified themselves.

When she got to the first position, she called out my name. I didn't stand up because I was somewhere at the back, seated on the floor among many others whose parent couldn't afford that pako locker. When everyone pointed to me, she urged me to follow her, took me to the staff room and showed everyone her best student with a percentage of 96.6.

Don't doubt it people, it was 96.6. She got me a locker afterwards and even customised it with my name so it won't be stolen. You would understand this if you went to a government school. Later on, my parents took me to a private school. lol, those kind of private schools that you would have to stay in the area where they are located to know they existed.

I was the headgirl for 3 years (sss1-3) because my head was big. OK you know why already. On end-of-session parties, which we barely paid for, I would participate in every program on the list of activities.

All parents knew me, I was hard to miss. On one of these occasion, my mom was called out to take a picture with me as the best student in English. As she turned to leave, they called the best in maths-me, and she had to turn back. Best in chemistry, physics and biology. I remember one woman shouting to my mom as she turns to leave everytime "kuku stay there till they finish".

Oya lemme not lie, I don't know maths, just that the other students in the class were even worse than I was in maths. Lol. I wrote WAEC twice simply because my maths was cancelled the first time. I wrote jamb twice too with an aggregate of 223 and 216 respectively. Am I ya mate? clap for me jor.

Don't mind me. Fast forward to my higher education. This was when I started making bad choices. I chose the wrong course. I wanted to study medicine so bad and when I couldn't get into lag, I chose the wrong school. TASUED was a bad choice and studying biology when I couldn't get medicine was an even worse choice. Before TASUED coman withdraw the certificate they gave me, let me say TASUED is a great school.

It is in fact the premier university of education in Nigeria. Oh so you don't know? Well I told you already. Medicine was a childhood dream. I didn't realize in time that science wasn't my passion. Even if I had studied medicine, I would have failed woefully. After these four years in school, I realize I wasn't built for science. I am a talented pencil artist, a makeup artist, I sing well and I would love to learn furniture making.

Where does all this fit into science? Medicine was a mere fantasy and I let societal pressure of going to the university affect my choice. I could have gone to a technical school, a home furnishing school, an art school and instead, I chose a science course I wasn't really interested in. At this point let me educate some of us on our failed education system.

Do you know that after JSS3, we were supposed to chose between spending 3 years in technical school or spending 3 years in senior secondary school? I bet some of us don't know this. Yea, because our society has found a way to surpress technical school. I wish I knew this earlier.

I left the things I loved and ran after what people expected me to do. Money was another factor. This was in fact the main factor. I remember in 200l when I wasn't allowed to do 5 exams out of 8 in first semester and 3 out of 9 in second semester. God, I almost packed my bag to leave cos I was done.

My mother, hmmm, God bless this woman insisted I stay. I told her my CGPA has been affected and I might never recover from that blow. That maybe I needed to start all over. Over just hissed and said "Atinuke, if they give you pass, just bring it home. If they give u 3rd class, accept it greatful" Mind you, she said this in yoruba ni o her English can break windscreen.

It was her voice in my head that made me continue. People who didn't even know anything were having 2.2 and 2.1. Lol. However, my non-challance played an important roll too. Since I got that blow in 200l, I lost faith. I became unserious. I would go for test, even if I went, I won't read. I lost focus. Now when I look at some of the dullest students in my class in secondary school, I understand what king Solomon said "time and tide happened to them all.. "

Crime / See What Armed Security Men Did With Kemi Olunloyo In Port Harcourt Prison (pic) by uche87(m): 10:26am On Mar 31, 2017
Daughter of former governor of Oyo State and controversial blogger, Kemi Omololu Olunloyo was yesterday paraded in prison custody on handcuff under heavy security presence.

Another picture of Kemi Omololu Olunloyo in Port Harcourt, Rivers prison under heavy security has been published online alongside conflicting reports about her freedom.

According to the Punch, Kemi Olunloyo has been refused bail and remanded in Port Harcourt prison custody for the second time in two weeks.

This time, it was the Federal High Court in Rivers State that denied bail for the daughter of the former governor of Oyo State and remanded her in prison after a Magistrate Court had granted her bail.

However, charges against the Port Harcourt-based publisher, Samuel Walson, were dropped. Olunloyo and Walson were arrested over an alleged online defamatory publication against a frontline cleric, Pastor David Ibiyomie.

Another online news platform claim Madam KOO as she is fondly called has been granted a bail. She is expected to provide N200,000 and two sureties resident in Port Harcourt to regain her freedom while trial bordering on defamation of character continues.

Meanwhile the picture of Kemi in a green prison gown has been welcomed with mixed feelings on social media as Nigerians lament on her continued incarceration.

Below is an interesting social media post of a top commenter:

Nairaland / General / Reno Omokri Schooled On Social Medial Over Controversial Advice by uche87(m): 2:29pm On Mar 22, 2017
Some free lectures have been given to Pastor Reno Omokri - former media aide to ex President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan over his advocacy for massive entrepreneurship in Nigeria.

Mr Perez Tigidam, creative director at Arden & Newton Brand Management company as well as editor at TheNerveAfrica.com has responded to a viral tweet from the account of a former presidential spokesman, Reno Omokri on the inefficacy of the regular 9-5 jobs being widely embraced by Nigerians.

Mr Perez Tigidam, a Lagosian voiced out his opinion via his Facebook page in an insightful piece titled "Pastor Reno Omokri: The Anti 9-5 and False Entrepreneurship Preachers"

Read the piece below:

I have tried my best for so many years now to remain civil on social media until Reno Omokri happened and I lost my chill.

There are times we must sincerely ask ourselves "who chill epp" just so we can protect young and vulnerable minds from the fallacy and entrapments of modern day pseudo-intellectuals and the many shallow minded entrepreneurship coaches and opportunists who are manipulating information to fatten their bank accounts. I am an entrepreneur and employer of labour, but I detest falsehood.

A few days ago, I saw a tweet that was already viral and had so many retweets from young people on (Nigerian) twitter, it simply read "A salary is a bribe they give you to abandon your dream" it irked the living day light out of me, but I tried as much as possible not to get involved in the conversations that ensued.

I looked through the thread of most of the apologists of this line of thinking and they seemed to me like people who are not collecting or have never collected a salary, neither do they even have a dream that pays the bills. I said to myself "Don't get involved in idle chatter, let them continue in their masturbatory excitement".

What worried me most was the sheer number of people who agreed to this; not so much of their number but the fact that such numbers could be that shallow minded and lack the ability to think rationally, it also reflected the shallowness and manipulative nature of the source(s) of these lines of thinking.
The conversations went on endlessly and for days, many of them used the opportunity to carry out what I'd choose to call career-shaming. They were simply career-shaming people who were in paid employment, making it seem like there was something wrong with people who have decided to build a life and career in paid employment.

My friend Chinonso Ogbogu runs entrepreneurship training programs and I remember a few weeks ago when he came visiting the office, I told him that I am an entrepreneur but I do not like people in his circles, as a matter of fact, I detest people who go about screaming entrepreneurship. I remember telling him that he should keep his message sane as it is at the moment that the day he turns manipulative, that's where our friendship ends and I hope he adheres.

You see, in situations like these, you ignore the juveniles and hope that those who are blessed with age will have the wisdom to come forward with a balanced narrative but I became convinced that wisdom isn't necessarily a conferment that comes with age as Reno Omokri yesterday tried to take advantage of the moment and tweeted the rubbish attached to this post.

It took me a long while before I summoned the courage to break the rules of engagement and responded to that tweet. I said to myself, I am an employer and I owe it to myself and my team to protect their minds from folly and fallacy. I owe my friends and family in paid employment who are shamed into quietness by words like Reno's to speak out and counter sensationalism with truth, line upon line.

The world is in the mess it is because of extremist ideologies, as mundane as a subject matter as this may seem, this line of thinking that Reno holds is an extremist leaning.

It is statements like these and that of the many entrepreneurship training charlatans that created the many shitty businesses we have all over the place, people who have no business with being in business, refusing to work because they've been made to believe that there is something wrong with paid employment. It is even affecting the psyche of those in paid employment who want to build a career out of it because their ego and sense of self esteem is badly bruised by misinformation.

The same line of thinking that has aided the duplicity of mushroom churches because we are now all ego driven and think there is something wrong with being subject to someone else's leadership and authority. We should all be entrepreneurs and pastors they think.
Reno Omokri, a professed pastor who recently left paid employment as an aide to the former president says paid employment is a waste of education.

What a wawu!

Politics / 6 Controversial Reasons Why The Senate Rejected Ibrahim Magu Today by uche87(m): 3:24pm On Mar 15, 2017
The six controversial reasons why the Senate unequivocally rejected the confirmation of Ibrahim Magu as the Chairman of the EFCC has been revealed.

The Senate on Wednesday rejected the nomination of Ibrahim Magu as the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) after he was questioned by some of the Senators for hours.

Magu who had been previously rejected by the Senate was re-nominated by President Muhammadu Buhari for confirmation. He was rejected, yet again by a majority of the Senators through a vote.

Here are 6 reasons why Magu was rejected by the Senate:

1. The main reason for Magu's rejection was because of the Department of State Security (DSS) earlier letter indicating in strong terms that Magu failed the integrity test and was unfit for the office.

2. Magu couldn't get the popular votes. He was rejected by a majority of the Senators who voted against his confirmation.

3. Senate took seriously the allegation by Magu that that two reports were submitted in one day about him by the DSS. They lawmakers didn't find it funny that Magu questioned the intergrity of the security agency's report.

4. The Clerk denied claims by Magu that the Senate received two letters from the DG SSS. When asked, the clerk confirmed that he received only one letter.

5. Senators questioned and frowned at the manner the EFCC arrest and detain individuals without following stipulated laws of the land. The Senate was irked by EFCC's penchant for disobeying court orders and the many cases of human rights abuse.

6. Magu failed to appear before the Senate with his own version of the report about the DSS allegations that cleared him on the matter which made it difficult for the Senators to understand.

Nairaland / General / 7 Simple Things You Should Stop Doing On Social Media, No 3 Is Too Important by uche87(m): 11:38am On Mar 15, 2017
Blogger, Ademidun Abimbola has moved to educate the generality of Nigerians on the safe and optimum usage of social media.

Social media platforms have the deceitful look of encouraging unlimited freedom for users which prompts them to abuse the system.

Below is a list of do's and don'ts that should guide the conduct of Nigerians on social media.

DO'S

1. Let your bio or profile be attractive. Summarize what you do in your bio, it makes it easier for fans to locate you. In other words, maximize your bio or profile.

2. Interact with your followers. Let them know your social media profile is being handled by a human not a robot.

3. Be original by creating your own posts. Do less of copy and pasting of third party posts. Let your posts reflect creativity and originality.

4. Offer great customer service. Answer questions as soon as possible and mention a follower by name in a comment to make them feel relevant.

5. You are allowed to be funny with your posts as long as no one is offended.

6. Post what your followers will like to see. Posts on your page are not about what you like, they are about what interests your followers. Tailor your posts to catch their attention.

7. Spice your posts with quality images or with short videos. Posts with images or short videos tend to attract more attention.

DON'TS

1. Ignoring comments and questions from followers is a big turn off. Also, don't delete negative comments on your page, try as much as possible to calm an angry customer.

2. Don't be on all social media platforms, pick the one that suits what you do and stick to it.

3. Don't pick fights or quarrels on social media platforms. It sends wrong signals to followers and intending followers. It gives you a bad reputation.

4.
Connecting with everyone all because they follow you is not right. Following some category of people will have a negative influence on your brand.

5. Don't use text only in your posts. Posts without images rarely attract attention.

6. Don't allow long breaks between your posts. Be regular and consistent.

7. Don't choke your followers with posts. Don't overdo it, choose the frequency of your post based on the social media platforms.

For example, it is advisable to post on Twitter up to 5 times daily as the lifespan of a tweet is short. One post per day is appropriate for Facebook and Instagram.

Nairaland / General / S*x Scandal: 7 Quick Steps Apostle Suleman Should Take To End The Saga by uche87(m): 11:13am On Mar 11, 2017
Nigerians woke up to the rude shock of an image-tarnishing news about Apostle Johnson Suleman's alleged amorous relationship with one Canada-based Nigerian singer, Stephanie Otobo on Monday, the 6th of March, 2017 and the despicable saga has been embarrassingly protracted.

It has been a dilly-dally affair between both parties as they flood the Nigerian media space with constant press statements that have put the founder of the Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide at the disadvantageous receiving end.

Media consultant and journalist, OSAYIMWEN OSAHON GEORGE who boasts of an enviable wealth experience in the media sector has suggested some basic steps to peacefully silence the free-speaking, Stephanie Otobo - a 23-year old lady with virtually nothing to lose and no good image to protect.

Read the salient points as provided below:

(1) Apostle Suleman should map out subterranean plans to make peace with Stephanie Otobo before she soils the internet with more daring and hard evidences to buttress her ear-blocking allegations against him.

(2) Apostle Suleman should cut a deal with the Keyamo Chambers to end the scandalous case. Worse cases with a higher magnitude in Nigeria have been buried. Realistically, most Nigerian lawyers don't want justice, they want opportunities, fame and more money. History reminds us that it was a celebrated case of the death of a former Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, James Ajibola Ige in 2001 that ushered Festus Keyamo, SAN into limelight and opulence.

(3)
Apostle Suleman should withdraw the case from the court of law except he is seeking for a ‘pyrrhic victory’. With my years of experience in journalism, I doubt if there is an option of victory for him as Miss Stephanie Otobo will provide their itinerary details as promised, more unclad pictures and videos, hotel arrangements, and the Keyamo Chambers could be right that more ladies have come forward to testify against the fiery cleric.

(4) Apostle Suleman should literally appease the 'gods' with Kola nuts.
I am not talking about idolatry here. The beleaguered man of God with branches in 16 countries should grease the palms of Stephanie Otobo adequate greenback. She is indignant and ready to cause reputational damage which will affect Apostle Suleman's career, religious empire, family and financial base. Some millions of naira, yes I mean millions will make her switch tongues like a Mountain of Fire Ministries prayer warrior.

(5) Apostle Suleman should refrain from threatening New York-based media platform, Sahara Reporters and others with law suits. A mutual agreement with Omoyele Sowore, the founder of the investigative media firm who has been at the forefront of the propagation of the scandal could be reached if possible. A man of God should be in the Church and not in courts.

(6)
Apostle Suleman should keep a low-profile for a while pending on when another controversy envelopes the Nigerian media space. Inciting statements against Ms. Otobo, religious issues, politics, targeted prophecies and others related to public affairs should be halted for now while he goes about his gospel activities within Nigeria and abroad.

(7) As a Christian, Apostle Suleman should seek the face of God through fasting and prayer. This cup should pass way; he mustn't drink from the cup. Even King David who committed adultery with Uriah's wife, Bathsheba and successfully plotted his death returned to the presence of God for direction and restitution as stated in the Holy Bible.

In conclusion, Apostle Suleman should take a cue from how oil mogul and the Chief Executive Officer of Forte Oil Plc - Femi Otedola overturned his purported s*x scandal with the Canadian escorts named Kiran and Jyoti Matharo who were Abuja-based sisters specialized in blackmailing their wealthy male clients.

The Cable news platform exclusively reported that a deal was struck with the police to release the international passports of the ladies to allow them leave the country quietly, drop the incriminating evidence and refrain from making any reference to any s*xual engagement with the billionaire in any manner.
So what happened next? The case slipped into coma and the general public moved on to other issues.

With the resurgence of social media and blogs, the worst thing that could happen to a prominent Nigerian is to be embroiled in any impropriety. The media system is uncontrolled and unregulated thereby giving way for fake and malicious reports to thrive.

Politics / Bimbo Daramola: "l Will Resign After 2 Years In Office" - Ekiti Guber Aspirant by uche87(m): 12:35pm On Mar 10, 2017
Ekiti political warhorse, Bimbo Daramola has boasted about turning the fortunes of the South-western state around within a period of two years if voted into the office as governor of the state in 2018.

An aspirant in the forthcoming Ekiti gubernatorial election, Congressman Bimbo Daramola has declared that if he emerges as governor of Ekiti State in 2018 and can’t turn around the fortunes of his people in two years, he would resign as governor.

“In two years, if I can’t favourably turn around the fortunes of this State, I will resign”. Bimbo made this known during a hold-no-bar conversation with bloggers on Thursday, 09, 2017 in Ado Ekiti.

While responding to questions from a cross section of bloggers, the Ire born congressman said this is not a mere political talk. He said “I know that the fortunes of Ekiti State can be better than what we have now if her human resources are well utilised.

In his characteristic brilliant manner, Bimbo Daramola said gone are the days when countries rely on natural resources – oil for development. “The word now is human ware. It is no longer about soft or hardware.”

"Look at countries like Finland with a little more people than Ekiti State, look at Singapore who has no drop of oil, they are first class countries driven by people."

He said there are only few things that I cherish more than building relationship with the people. This has been the pivot of his youth centric approach to things. He pointed out repeatedly that in a special feature on the #Ekiti2018 in ThisDay newspaper, he was described as the candidate with the strongest youth reach.

A unique feature of the congressman predating his time in the National Assembly. Bimbo noted that he started purchasing JAMB/UTME forms for students in and outside Ekiti State around 1999/2000. My love for the youth can’t be denied and I hate to see people suffer.

Describing what would be an essential need of whoever becomes the next governor of Ekiti State, the NaijaGreenCard proprietor said the will power to do would top that list.

This above everything is the most essential for the next governor of Ekiti State. In his words, “gone are the days they say in Ekiti, it is one house one professor. I doubt if we can boast of that any longer”

Romance / Opinion Poll: Nigerians Fail To Believe Apostle Suleman On S*x Scandal by uche87(m): 4:35pm On Mar 09, 2017
Canadian-based Nigerian singer, Ms Stephanie Otobo has flawed the founder of the Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide, Apostle Johnson Suleman in an opinion poll organised to determine the public acceptability of the different sides of the story relating to the chilling illicit relationship between both parties.

A poll organised by a New York-based online media platform, SaharaReporters to determine the views of the general public about the two different accounts of the alleged amorous relationship between fiery cleric, Apostle Johnson Sulemain and one Ms Stephanie Otobo has been concluded.

3,550 readers participated in the feed-back system through the Twitter page of the media body within a space of 48hrs. Ms Stephanie Otobo who claims to have gotten pregnant for the religious leader after regular s*xual encounters and also provided hard evidences of a flirty videocam chat between them amassed almost twice the vote of her counterpart on the scale of believability.

Stephanie Otobo recorded 33% while Apostle Johnson Suleman who had since denied sleeping with the 23 year old entertainer recorded just 17%. Surprisingly, 50% of the participants claim not to care about the disgraceful saga.

Otobo alongside a friend have remained incarcerated since Friday last week due to administrative bottlenecks of perfecting their bail conditions given by the court over charges of 'terrorism', defamation, blackmail and others.

Nairaland / General / All The Big Brother Housemates Including Big Brother Should Be Disqualified by uche87(m): 4:58pm On Mar 06, 2017
Nigerian singer and comedian, Tunde Ednut has reacted has reacted to the contentious disqualification of housemate, Kemen from the ongoing Big Brother Naija reality show.

The exit of Kemen of Akwa Ibom from the ongoing Big Brother Nigeria reality show for groping his colleague, T-Boss in her sleep has generated mixed reactions among Nigerians.

Majority of the female folks have criticized Kemen whom they have described as a "pervert and a potential r*pist" for touching T-Boss inappropriately without her consent.

A prominent Nigerian celebrity, Tunde Ednut has defended Kemen's action. According to him, Kemen has been undeservedly made a scapegoat for the same act the reality show promotes.

Mr. Ednut reiterated that the entire show that promises the winner a car and a whooping sum of N25 million should be disqualified alongside Kemen.

Read his Instagram update on the Big Brother Naija drama below:

"It's funny how BIG BROTHER will be disqualifying someone for the same BULLSHIT they are promoting."

"Bullshit! That girl didn't shout or complain after she woke up and saw him. Cut me that slack Big Brother. People have done all different kind of things in that house. All of them should be disqualified plus BIG BROTHER himself. This whole game looks staged to me. The only problem now is that Kemen will have a bad name for a long time in this our country Nigeria where we can not find our President, Buhari."

Celebrities / The Laughable Tale Of Nollywood Actress, Oge Okoye And The Stolen Innocent Dogs by uche87(m): 10:51am On Mar 05, 2017
One of the ills of social media is that it has made celebrities out of nonentities living a lie. Every seeming beautiful lady on social networks with the ‘stripper audacity and orientation of life could amass thousands of perverts as fans for no just cause.

Some of these ladies who can't even boast of a modest rented apartment in a Lagos slum can afford to snap in upscale hotels in the privileged Island area of the state and flood social media platforms with colourful pictures to oppress others. These treats are facilitated mostly by some inelegant and pot-bellied Sugar Daddies or Yahoo Bois whose pictures are concealed like contraband goods at the borders. This has led to mass envy upon emptiness.

The Nigerian social media space has recorded several cases of public figures sponsoring dubious success stories and posing with ostentatious properties they dream to acquire just hoodwink their followers. Nowadays, everybody is desperate to prove that he/she is immune to the current economic recession that has turned the opulent and flamboyant sinners into 'Born Again Christians' in terms of spending.
Fakeness is deep rooted under our black skins and social media resurgence has fertilized the intentional propagation of lies.

Taking a stroll down memory lane, in 2013, a false report emerged that singer MayD had purchased a N150 million 6 bedroom duplex at the Magodo Phase 2 area of Lagos. The lanky entertainer allowed the story play to launder his image and help upgrade his status until he was exposed.
The music Taliban, Oritsefemi was also alleged to have lied about purchasing a N200 million house around the Admiralty way in Lekki, Lagos.
Nollywood actress, Ebube Nwagbo once claimed ownership of an exotic Porshe car after allegedly downloading the picture on the internet and sharing on her page as a testimony.

Ayodeji Balogun popularly known as Wizkid rented a house in Lekki only to announce that he bought it. He was later served a quit notice by his landlord when he failed to renew his rent.
Foremost Nigerian blogger - Linda Ikeji, 36 out of desperation to cover the vacuum of her love life hurriedly shared photos of her fake Hermes Birkin bag that cost her N4.8 million just to attract the needless attention of netizens.
Laura Ikeji, a self-acclaimed blogger and fashionista also toed the part of her elder sister by posting fake products on Instagram for sale until she was busted by eagle-eyed followers.
Mercy Aigbe Gentry recently flaunted a fake Gucci bag which was admired by her fans until she was mocked by one personal shopper based in London.
She was also embroiled in a shameful saga of wearing a free cloth and refusing to give due credit to the designer who sent it to her for promotional purpose.

Nollywood filmmaker and Chief Executive Officer of Ebony Films, Seun Egbegbe was once described as a millionaire. At some point, he shared photos of his latest convertible vehicle soon after breaking up with Nollywood actress Toyin Aimakhu (Now Toyin Abraham). We all thought everything was perfect till he was exposed to be a habitual criminal operating under the shining sun.
Kemi Omololu Olunloyo also recently lied that her 'polished voice' is worth $6 million dollars at the Statefam Insurance, United States of America. According to her, if she loses her voice permanently, she would collect a sum of N3 billion.
I will not also forget Tonto Dikeh who shared the pictures of a pink iPhone 7 shortly after its official release and also a brand new Lexus LX 570 three weeks later which she attributed to the benevolence of her husband only to make a U-turn on her claims in the face of a rift.
On a final note, the list of the 'Lai Mohammeds' of Nigeria will be incomplete without making reference to Toke Makinwa who abandoned her marriage that was overwhelmed by wild fire to help build the homes of others. Is it not mind-boggling that the On-Air-Personality built a YouTube channel of thousands of subscribers with her assumed and untested relationship advice?

Back to the subject matter of this piece, Nollywood actress, Oge Okoye in a bid to impress her over 848,000 followers on Instagram recently engaged in a contemptible act of ‘electronic robbery’. The single mother, 36 invaded the Instagram page of an American model and reality star, Kenya Moore to steal the picture of her cute puppies. Aunty Oge who is on an extensive sabbatical or 'Buharic' leave from the film industry didn't stop at the broad daylight theft, she also swiftly organised a naming ceremony for the innocent puppies thereby changing their identities from originally King and Twirl to Rob and Rosy.

The stolen picture instantly served the needed purpose as it earned over 3,992 likes in no time and elicited interesting comments from her fans who were fooled by her fantasies. Kenya Moore who found that kind of odious act in this modern world so strange raised an alarm considering the fact that it was coming from a verified Instagram account with massive followership indicating that she is a prominent person.
Idle Nigerians looking for an avenue to offload the scathing frustrations of the cash-crunch, inflation, high-rate of unemployment and other endemic stormed the Instragram page of Aunty Oge with long whips to reprimand her. Aunty Oge instantly adopted a damage control measure by deleting the image of the stolen dog from her page but it was too late. She became a pathetic victim of the Screenshot feature on Smartphones. The micro-blogs on Instagram had already blown the story beyond control. As the Yoruba people will say, "The wind had blown and the anus of the fowl was in full public glare"

Another celebrity with an expensive life on social media was exposed. Aunty Oge was tortured with ill comments from people she could be a mother to. It was a field day for all angry Nigerians with strong intentions to channel their energies into the wrong directions. Aunt Oge couldn't bear the consequences of her actions. It was more difficult to come out clean. Offering a deceitful explanation wasn't an option, she just had to disable comments on her page and act like social media doesn't exist.

I can bet my life that even the best PR companies wouldn't have offered her a way out of the quagmire. The best option would have been to lie that her account was hacked and the person behind it published the picture of the puppies on her behalf. I am sure an insane person would never fall for that balderdash.

The efforts of the legendary attention-seekers on social media namely actor Uche Maduagwu and the controversial daughter of a former Oyo State governor, Kemi Omololu Olunloyo made the already bad case worse. The already sour and unpalatable drink was made poisonous for public consumption by these two people that made names from meddling in celebrated issues.
Kemi popularly known as Madam KOO myopically claimed Aunty Oge was being sarcastic with the act of e-robbery that must have changed the orientation of the American lady about Africans. Uche who has been rumoured to be suffering from an undisclosed degree of mental illness offered a spurious account of the 'Intellectual Property' theft by claiming he rang Aunty Oge and she actually wanted to buy the dogs but the unscrupulous seller sent her the stolen picture and she went ahead to announce the arrival of the dogs she was yet to see. Well no wonder, Tonto Dikeh warned Uche against writing about her tumultuous marriage before he would make her and Olakunle Oladunni Churchill irreconcilable with his top-notch stupidity.

Nobody born of a woman can save Aunty Oge from this disesteem as she has been caught-red-handed. The only solution is for her to endure the verbal attacks and stay off social media till the issue dies a natural death. An indelible mark has been made on her beautiful acting career in addition to the 'Other Room' hustling associated with Nollywood actresses in general. This story will die but the internet never forgets.
References will always be made to the unbecoming act by a supposed big girl that flies more than an Edo witch. This will serve as deterrent to other celebrity-wannabes and empty public figures painting false images of their despondent life on social media.

The gospel truth is that the lives of some of these so-called Nigerian celebrities might be similar to that of Nigeria as a country in terms of hopelessness. Most of these stars are Aba-made. Most of them don't really shine and several ones are living on past glory. Most of their followers don't even understand the concept of followership. There is no positive impartation on the lives of their fans so it’s a blatant case of blind followership.
The fans only serve the purpose of promoting the products of their idols when the time comes like new music alerts, movies, brand promotions, events etc. So at the end of the day, there is no substance or value and no loyalty. The same supporters will easily play the devil's advocate and also switch back like they are on a movie set.

It was on this note that former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan failed gallantly after hiring some prominent Nigerian stars to help him propagate 'Transformation Agenda' which was subdued by the slogan of 'Change' of the then opposition party - All Progressives Congress. These celebrates are the worst propagators of any meaningful message because they can't command the obedience of their followers. It’s a case of emptiness upon emptiness. Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan's star-studded meeting with some Nollywood personalities at the prestigious Eko Hotel during the 2015 presidential election campaign period would be added to the long list of regrets in his life as it was more ineffective that President Muhammadu Buhari's economic team.

Aunty Oge has learnt the hard way and Nigerians have started hiding the pictures of their unwanted and stray local dogs to help her overcome the temptation of electronic theft.

Politics / So Hilarious: Buhari To Contest As 'mayor Of London'....see Poster (photo) by uche87(m): 2:44pm On Mar 03, 2017
President Muhammadu might be considering a public position in the United Kingdom following his long distance political relationship with Nigeria.

A concerned Nigerian has designed a satirical meme to mock President Muhammadu Buhari's protracted stay in London, United Kingdom on a medical vacation.

A campaign poster expressing Buhari's interest in the public post of the 'Mayor of London' has been publicized on social media. It reads "Vote Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, the Mayor of London'.

President Buhari is certainly not contesting for such a position in Europe but the picture aimed at hilarity has served its purpose of frowning at Buhari's extended stay in London despite his campaign promise of halting the spate medical tourism in Nigeria.

Medical tourism according to an October, 2016 report gulps a whooping sum of $1 billion yearly in Nigeria.

Read the insightful piece below:

Looking at the above title tells us that there are several connections between an economy or economic life of a country and foreign currency, especially the dollar in an increasing globalized world.

A country’s economy at its base represent the total package of day to day life (daily living) and how income and expenditure of individuals and groups are structured. It is a system and processes that defines the wealth and poverty of individuals and nations. Without being too simplistic, a country economic structures and processes captures the essence and existence of any given people of a particular country.

That explains why some countries would, ceteris paribus, remain backroom players and some would remain the front runner, given the competitive edge inbuilt in economic processes and systems, intra and inter states. That explains the wealth and poverty of nations, apologies to Adam Smith, Acemoglu and Robinson.

The above preamble would readily suggest to the reader that economic issues are better not to be left to the whims and caprices of the novice, nor should they be left to those who are faint-hearted to take important and hard decisions to better the lot of the generality of the people. Directly important to an economic systems and processes are institutions and structures as well the quality of individuals who are charged with managing these processes and systems.

A cursory look at those charged with managing the Nigerian economy inspires no confidence. They themselves radiates little or no confidence. At the risk of sounding unmerciful, when you have HND and BSC holders managing the size of the Nigerian economy with potential for growth, then what you are likely to have is a stunted growth and uninspiring performance, both of the managers and the economy. The institutions they head are often like them, uninspiring and under-performing. This is aside the systemic corruption that permeates individual, private and public life, including institutions, especially those charged with the economic management.

However, the problem goes beyond the managers at different levels. The fundamentals of the Nigerian economy shows it to be a buying and selling economy, or what the average trader calls buy and sell. In other words, Nigeria operates a buy and sell economy. That forms the basis of Nigerian economic life, structure and process wise.

Let me quickly explain that by structure, Nigerian economic institutions are built to buy and sell and this, successive governments and economic managers have continued to maintain and redefined to suit each successive government without fundamentally altering its nature, features and character. We have argued elsewhere and severally too, that, even though this buy and sell economic structure was instigated and built by colonial interlopers, Nigerian rulers and economic managers have not only perpetuated this structure, they have manage to even bastardized the structures to abysmal levels, especially during Jonathan era.

In concrete terms, Nigeria had always been relying on commodity products like Cocoa, Groundnut, Coal and now, crude Oil to sell at cheap prices and buy technological products at very exorbitant prices, creating a permanent unequal and unfavourable terms and balance of trade, to the near fixed disadvantage to Nigeria. These structures in clear terms are Ministry of Finance, Central Bank of Nigeria and other government created financial institutions. These is not to exempt individual, group and quasi government institutions outside the government. They fall into the same category of institutions that buy and sell.

By process, we mean the orientation, attitude and manifest consciousness that permeates and pervades the individual, social and state towards the Nigerian economy. Everyone has been conditioned to think in terms of buy and sell, not to create and manufacture. This explains why everyone is selling maize, food and ‘pure water’ at the lowest economic level; establishing schools and churches/mosques, etc at the middle level; and, joining politics/selling votes, currency traders and influence peddling. Almost everyone is now a currency dealer and speculator as well MMM participant/dealer.

Thus, the buy and sell process shows why everyone sell the same goods and services on every street corner; proliferation of schools and churches/mosques; wants to join politics and crudely accumulate wealth, explains do or die politics, and every Yinka, Nnamdi and Dogo now trade in foreign currencies, otherwise known as forex (fx).

When Buhari government came to power, fx was much lower and was trading around 205 naira to a dollar. What sustained the naira then was the high price of crude oil at the international market, excessive looting resulting in excess liquidity in the system (unhinged corruption) and proliferate spending, especially on elections and vote buying.

Dollar became the medium of exchange. It was a case of postponing the evil day and/or waiting for the economic bubble to burst. However, the rental or buy and sell economic structures and process predates Jonathan administration. It has continued apace since Buhari’s government came to power, made worse by his government try and error economic policy, low crude oil price and low quality of personnel managing the economy. More alarmingly is the failure of successive government, including Buhari’s to attempt a restructuring of the Nigerian economy away from buy and sell economy to a manufacturing industrial economy. Such restructuring of the economy would involve economic and political economy thinkers and not just run of the mill NHD and BSC that currently pervades the corridors of economic decision making. Nigeria have a long way to go.

In light of the above, we argue that the recent intervention of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in the forex market is not sustainable on many fronts and indications are already pointing to that. As of today (03-03-2017) the naira has started falling again (450-8 to a dollar) reversing its recent short-lived gains (see abokifx.com). Due to a combination of individual, systemic and governmental structures and process, we ask, how long will CBN continue to supply dollars to the forex market in view of volatility of oil price, foreign reserve and structure of international economic system?

At whose cost is the intervention and manipulation? What are the opportunity cost in terms of infrastructures and peoples welfare? What about inside trading and round tripping? While economic purists and Utopian academic idealists would argue that currency (fx) intervention by governmental agencies like CBN is positive as a regulator, we posit that such interventions are part of currency manipulations that we only serve as a stop gap and generally fall into same category of currency manipulations that often occurs in a buy and sell economy with no longer term benefits, except the fundamentals of the economy are changed.

Politics / Nnamdi Kanu And His Crew Don't Represent The Igbos - Igbo Broadcaster by uche87(m): 9:56am On Mar 02, 2017
The beleaguered leader of the Independent People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu has attracted diverse reactions on social media following his controversial comments on Nigerians whom he referred to as 'savages and animals'.

Incarcerated Nnamdi Kanu had a field day in court yesterday after the judge struck out 6 of the 11 criminal charges leveled against him by the Federal Government.

During a brief interview outside the court in Abuja, Mr Kanu in his Jewish attire accused the Nigerian security operatives of failing to obey laid down rules and regulations. He ended by reiterating that Nigeria is filled with 'savages and animals'.

As he was led away by prison officials, he cheered up his IPOB supporters with the Biafra chant and threatened to retaliate the death of the extra-judicial killings of the Igbos reportedly perpetrated by security operatives.

His outburst and controversial utterances capable of inciting violence in the already fragile and restive polity has attracted the intellectual response of the Operations Manager at WE TV, Wazobia TV, Gochu Enwereji who happens to be an Igbo too.

An indifferent Mr. Enwereji based in Lagos took to his Facebook page to penned down the short piece below:

"My response to a post by one youth that solicited lots of heated verbal abuses based on ethnic and other appalling sentiments on the Nnamdi KANU issue - trust me it goes on in all forums in same format ... "Our mumu done do" I say:
Firstly, its youth like you guys that make me feel we have a hopeless future - why go the route of the old divide and rule generation?!!!... Nnamdi and his crew don't represent the IBO's, how many of the enlightened IBO's believe in him?!!!, secondly, a vegetarian has no business selling me meat - he and his family are not based in Nigeria and have UK passports, so how does he claim to fight for me from out there- how would he feel my sufferings from out there ... Thirdly no proud IBO man would claim to be a second class citizen of any other country, not even Israelis who are mostly racist this days ... When he was arrested, he called himself a UK citizen in other to seek help, now they are Jews ?!!! ... Truly a confused lot who should all be tried for treason ... Ask these people routing for him, what he has ever done or achieved for the IBO race and in the Eastern part or Nigeria - dude is just looking for cheap money, power and fame, and he's lost on all counts ... He should start by building up the east, then we would listen to his talk about a Biafran el Dorado ... Back to you Lanre, am IBO but I believe in Nigeria as a collective entity and so am very detribalized - its so barbaric to generalize any ethnicity in Nigeria, cos we have the good, bad n ugly in all of them ... Instead of coming together to fight our common enemy who don't think tribe, religion or class, when they are sharing our collective wealth among themselves, we keep playing into their hands by fanning the embers of their divide and rule strategies !!! ... Like Charly Boy said, ' our mumu done do' !!!..."

Autos / 'limousine' Keke Napep Spotted In Festac, Lagos (photos) by uche87(m): 11:47am On Mar 01, 2017
An ultramodern Tricycle caused a stir in the FESTAC Town area of Lagos State yesterday around 6th Avenue.

In the coming months, technologically improved Tricycles might be storming Nigeria as Lagosians have started importing them.

The Tricycle which is well covered like a mini-bus costs a whooping sum of N750, 000 as against the conventional one that goes for a sum of N650,000.

It comes with an extra seat, doors, windows, standard roof and more space with a small cooling fan to boost ventilation.

The interesting feature of the Tricycle is that it doesn't use fuel. It is powered by electricity. The Tricycle operator told a Tori News correspondent it could move around town for a period of two days after being charged for just four hours.

The new Keke Napep is very rare in Lagos as commercial riders are watching earnestly before investing in such. The improved Tricycle road rode around 6th Avenue in Festac Town towards the Apple junction area amidst amusement by passers-by and commuters.

Unfortunately, the disadvantage of using the 'Limousine Keke' surfaced as the jolly ride involving some officials of Tori News was cut short when the battery of the transportation system suddenly went flat.

It had to be apparently towed to when it could be charged around 7:30pm. The reporters were left stranded as they took pictures to share with the world.
The bad news again is that the 'Limousine Keke Napep' is imported. Such a simple Tricycle can be conveniently developed in Nigeria if our brothers in the South-eastern part of Nigeria can simply focus and be financed by the government.

Politics / Journey To Redemption: Read D Full Text Of Akeredolu's Inaugural Speech In Ondo by uche87(m): 2:13pm On Feb 24, 2017
This is the full text of the inaugural speech of the 6th civilian governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo, SAN on the 24th of February, 2017 tagged 'Journey To Redemption'.

Humbled by the uncommon kindness of the Almighty God and an unequivocal expression of preference by the good people of Ondo State, exemplified by the victory of our great party at the last gubernatorial election, I am extremely delighted to share with you all the joy of this day of glory. We are grateful to Almighty God for granting this state such a beautiful day and a beautiful moment like this.

I thank the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and leader of our great party, President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR, for his leadership and unwavering stance to support what is just and noble. Today’s celebration would, perhaps, have been impossible without his steely disposition to always stand against all acts not in consonance with decency, probity and justice.

I thank the President of Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki and the Speaker of the House of Representatives Hon. Yakubu Dogara. I thank all APC Governors who stood to be counted with us in our hour of need andother eminent Nigerians too numerous to mention.

An especial reverence must be reserved for our indefatigable party chairman, Chief John Odigie Oyegun, whose strict adherence to lofty principles and doggedness laid the foundation for our resounding victory at the polls. This exemplary leader behaved like a true elder, whose sagely presence in the village square not only professed rectitude but acted it, resolutely, affirming nobility of the human spirit. Our party benefitted, tremendously, from his vast experience in public service. We are eternally grateful. The verdict of history shall be kind to him.

We express our profound appreciation to all the leaders of the party, at the national, state, local government, ward and unit levels, for their untiring and selfless efforts during the election.

May I also use this opportunity to pay tribute to those who have served this state in this capacity, both living and departed, for their invaluable contributions to the development of the state. On behalf of our State, I pay tribute to Governor OlusegunAbdulramanMimiko for his several years of service toOndo State. I thank all our guests and friends both far and near who have taken it upon themselves to be here or sent words. I thank all citizens of Ondo state, particularly our resilient youths and women.

I come to you this day, with a message of hope, a clear agenda of prosperity and a vision of life abundant. I believe the greatest expression of faith in our ability is to be strong enough to look upon our imperfections and decide that it is in our power to remake our society to align with our highest ideals.

We can rise out of this dust and build a new Ondo state where honesty, prosperity and confidence can once again be our self-identity. We can pull ourselves by the bootstraps and shake off our current frustrations and disappointments. We must recognise the need for a cohesive platform, indispensable to an effective and efficient implementation of policies and programmes of both government and party, respectively.

Divergence of opinions is integral to party politics. We are bound to disagree as politicians but we must cast aside bitter recriminations and destructive predilections. Democracy thrives on infinite multiplicity of ideas. Popular participation is one of its fundamental norms. The subordination of individual preferences for the collective will is essential if we are to avoid anarchy. Party supremacy should be respected at all times. This should not be difficult for us to accept if we are truly desirous of bringing about positive change in the lives of our people.

We listened to the voices of our people in the course of our campaigns to all the nooks and crannies of the state. We heard themloud and clear through their votes. We witnessed, first hand, the deplorable conditions under which they exist. To those who cast their ballots in favour of our programmes, your trust is not misplaced. We are determined to make the difference with the specific mandate of redemption liberally handed over to us. Those who expressed other preferences are no less patriotic. Before long their anxieties will be addressed, realistically. All of us will be involved in the reconstruction project. The collective interest of the state must be our paramount focus. Consequently,we stand before you to pledge, with the guidance of God and our resolve not to renege on our promise, that your welfare shall form the basis of all our activities.

To achieve this, the main mission of our administration is therefore to lead a patriotic, highly inspired and competent team to rescue the ship of our state. We intend to help rebuild our economy, resuscitate damaged infrastructure, restore hope and return our state to a prosperous land. We are determined as an administration to break down the barriers that have made stagnation possible. We will break down the barriers to honest leadership, to comprehensive development, to physical growth and social security. These we intend to do through the promotion of transparent leadership, rule of law, extensive consultation, quality and accessible public utilities and social security; all in a sustainable manner.

We acknowledge the enormous challenges faced by the state and the severely limited resources available to meet these ever-increasing and compelling demands. In readiness for this enormous task ahead, I have two months ago inaugurated a Strategic Development and Policy Implementation Committee comprising of eminent and very knowledgeable Nigerians to produce and articulate a compressive change policy and programme blueprint. They have since submitted their preliminary report.

This blueprint is anchored on five cardinal programmes, which are popularly known as our Platforms for Change (JMPPR). These are:

1. Job creation through Agriculture, Entrepreneurship and Industrialisation.
2. Massive Infrastructural development and maintenance.
3. Provision of functional Education and Technological growth.
4. Provision of Accessible and Qualitative Health care and social service delivery.
5. Rural Development and Community Extension services.

This platform for Change is erected on strong pillars, which consist of the core sectors of government activities that our blueprint lays emphasis on. These are Finance and Management of state resources, Health and Social Services, Infrastructure and Public utilities, Agriculture and Natural resources, Commerce and Industrial development, Education and Technology, Land, Housing and Environment, Women Affairs and Social Development, Youth and Sports development, Culture and Tourism as well as Information, Civic orientation and Mobilisation among others.

Our blueprint when unveiled shall explain in details our philosophy, vision, sectoral policies and comprehensive Programmes of action clearly calendared over a period of a tenure of four years. With this document our pact with the people will be clear, our path well defined and expectations clearly understood.

In building the structure to deliver on our campaign promises, I come to you with a clear mind and an honest heart, to serve and give the very best of my ability to restore Hope and Happiness to our people. I urge you to see hope the way I see it. I see hope with limitless boundaries for endless opportunities for all of us. I see hope for progress, stability and prosperity for all people of goodwill who are willing to contribute their quota to developing our state to a land of honourable, contented, smart, honest, diligent and patriotic people. I see hope for self-confidence, job security and increased commerce and economic production. I see hope for redemption and renewal of our broken infrastructure, and social values.

But make no mistake about it; our journey to redemption will not be without stress and undulating curves. There are mountains before us to climb. As we climb up these steep mountains. Sometimes we may trip or slip, we will get back up. We will focus on the journey. We will never stop. We will never stop. We will never stop. In the end we will reach our goal, which is to bring back jobs to our youths, food to families, safety, confidence and prosperity to this land.

For all these to happen, I am humbly going to ask ONLY one thing from you, good people of Ondo state. What I ask for is Attitude. We need to come with an attitude of belief and transformation. Indeed, in all successful cultures and societies, attitude is the spirit and driver of victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, for us to see the change we all desire, we must be ready to constitute ourselves into change evangelists with exceptional missionary zeal to succeed. We must know that the man in the mirror is you and I. We need to have faith and find courage in the words of the good scripture thatsays, “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not be faint.”

I believe if we combine these abilities with the force of Providence, a lot of great deeds will happen. We shall not subject ourselves to any specious and unproductive stereotypes, which find expression in the usual egregious celebration of the passage of time spent in office as achievement. We will be too busy to notice the pace of the itinerary of the administration.

Our state is particularly lucky. We have men and women of quality. We set the pace for others in the not too distant past. The country depended, to a very great extent, on our resourcefulness. We contributed, immensely, to the GDP of the country at a time when agriculture was the mainstay of the country’s economy. Our people were exemplars in virtually all fields of human endeavour. The story is, painfully, different today.

The fault, as the saying goes, is not in our stars but in ourselves that our fortunes have dwindled, considerably, and we have become underlings. We have transited, regrettably, from a producing economy to a basically consumptive society, which depends, almost solely, on handouts to survive. The resultant effect of this unproductive attitude is grinding poverty, desperation and hopelessness among our people.

It is a cruel irony that a state, richly endowed in material and human resources, wallows in inexplicable privation. Our unproductive taste has sustained the dichotomy between the rural areas and the urban centres. All attempts at improving infrastructural deficits seem concentrated at the capital of the state. Government intervention, where available, has been grossly inadequate in addressing the socio-economic challenges faced by the masses. Our administration shall, decidedly, try to close the gap between the hinterland and urban centres. Real development can only be actualized and accentuated through an active symbiosis between the two, an understanding predicated on collaboration and co-existence designed for amity and progress. Our people will be encouraged to participate in the massive reconstruction contemplated by our administration in this regard.

Any honest indigene of the state must be disturbed by the crisis in the educational sector at present. The philosophy of education, conceived on the idea of functionality for improved living by our forbears, has been reduced to a routine certification ritual, the culmination of which is the award of certificates, diplomas and degrees to graduates who are left more confused than when they enrolled in school. The unemployment crisis, apart from being a global socio-economic phenomenon, is self-inflicted.

If education is the nurturing, training and mobilization of those who live in a society to confront the challenges of development, faced, primarily, by the people in that environment, the current situation confirms that we have since departed from that well-trodden path for a very long time now.It is a big shame that a state, which was a clear leader in education in the country, now lags behind. It appears that our curricula at all levels of training have failed to produce experts whose contributions to the growth of the economy are needed. Our administration will strive to reverse this unfortunate trend by promoting functional education aimed at real development. We shall also revisit the issue of vocational training with a view to improving the skills of our artisans.

We recognize that the issue of unemployment is endemic. We equally understand that the greatest employer of labour, at a time such as this challenging period, is the private sector. The government will ensure that the environment remains peaceful and conducive for economic activities. In addition, we shall deploy considerable energy into agriculture. Through this, we hope to generate employment for the teeming youths. This administration will do everything possible to encourage investment in agriculture. Our youths must be ready for training necessary to kick-start this mission.

We must begin to deemphasize white-collar jobs. The era of unproductive civil service is winding to a close, gradually. The current economic realities make the deployment of the unemployed to other sectors, other than agriculture and rural development, unsustainable. We must train our youths to acquire entrepreneurial skills as a corollary to our programme on agriculture.

The health care delivery system currently operating in the state will be sustained and improved upon. We shall adopt a deliberate policy to ensure that our people have access to health care regardless of their social status. We intend, within the available resources, to provide qualitative primary health care delivery system to the rural populace. Health care centres in the rural areas will be accessible and functional.

Our policy on massive infrastructural development will seek to open up the hinterland through our roads and waterways. Our state has the longest coastline in the country. It is unthinkable that all economic activities are restricted to land while our waterways are abandoned. Opening up the hinterland will reduce, drastically, the perennial rural-urban drift and encourage our sons and daughters who live outside the state to consider returning home to contribute their own quota. The economic propensities of such a venture will be, unimaginably, exponential.

We are all witnesses to the negative impact that our local economy has been subjected to as a result of over-reliance on federally allocated funds for even the most basic recurrent expenditure items. It is high time that we looked inwards and come up with a solution that ensures we are sustainable and viable as a collective entity.
We shall develop a comprehensive Development Plan that focuses on leveraging our collective resources and areas of comparative advantage for the benefit of our people. The plan will detail our philosophy and response to surviving in this harsh economic climate. In addition to this, it will also take a medium term view to our economic development on an overall basis, and more importantly ensure that we remain consistently above board during economic booms and bursts.
We will adopt a collaborative approach to get this done by ensuring that we engage with the other segments of the public sector, as well as the private sector in developing and implementing our ideas of transforming the economy of our great State within the shortest possible period.

All these lofty aspirations will remain a mirage if those saddled with the responsibility of implementing the decisions of the government do not support with dedication, honesty and patriotism.

I acknowledge the very important role that the Civil Service has played, and continues to play in the development of our beloved State. I understand the challenges, and these are quite apparent to those within and outside the system. We will work towards addressing these challenges in delivering on our mandate to our people. We particularly seek the support and cooperation of the Civil Service and all organs of labour. We will drive efficiency through capacity building and training needs assessment targeted at retooling our civil servants. Be rest assured that your welfare, training, capacity building and the overall interests of our people will be one of the highest pillars of our mandate.

We acknowledge the constraints that our current financial situation will place on our ability to deliver on our mandate. We however, believe that an adequate focus on transforming the current socio-economic status of our State will lead to substantial internally generated revenue for our State. We believe that Ondo State has the required resources – human and material to ensure our sustainability in the short, medium and long term.

We are looking at building on our existing relationships with local and international development partners. Many of them have been there for us in the time past, and we reach out to them, especially at the new dawn in the administration of our State.I am therefore using this opportunity to reach out to businesses, manufacturers, private investors as well as potential international partners. You are welcome to Ondo State. We commit to partner with you in developing the economic potentials of our State for the benefit of all our stakeholders.

The collective deployment of our resources, combined with those of our neighboring and sister States cannot be over-emphasized. Our administration believes that we can achieve a lot more if we work with a number of our sister State Governments to ensure that certain development efforts (infrastructure or otherwise) are channeled in such a way as to deliver maximum benefits for the participating States. We believe we don’t have to build or develop everything ourselves. There is a lot we can gain if we harmonise efforts and resources to build enduring assets that can cater for the needs of every one of us.

Security of lives and property shall be guaranteed. Our administration will protect all and sundry. We will act in the interest of everyone. We will be there for all. All those who will add value to governance in the state shall be engaged. We believe that the inputs and participation of every stakeholder is required for us to succeed and deliver our mandate. We will provide numerous avenues for direct engagement with our people. Whether you are civil servants, market women, students, vulnerable groups, artisans, professionals, we will have specific means of reaching out to you to feel your pulse, and more importantly to seek inputs into programs and policies that will directly impact your lives.

Ladies and gentlemen, it is indeed a brand new day! With the assistance of the Almighty God and the good people of Ondo State, we hope to take the state out of the morass of privation, hopelessness and desperation. The welfare of our people shall be the fundamental objective and directive principle of governance in Ondo State.

Your Excellencies, My lords, ladies and gentlemen and my good people of Ondo state, the hour is here and our Journey to Redemptioncommences now. And to God Almighty, the creator of heaven and earth, the author and finisher of all things perfect and excellent I say:

“Forth in thy name oh Lord I go,
my daily labour to pursue,
thee only thee resolved to know,
in all I think or speak or do.

The task thy wisdom has assigned
o’ let me cheerfully fulfil
in all my works thy presence find
and prove thy acceptable will”.

Long live Ondo State,
Long Federal Republic of Nigeria.
I thank you very much for listening. God bless.

TV/Movies / Big Brother Naija Pornography: Nigerians Are All Hypocrites - Gochu Enwereji by uche87(m): 11:41am On Feb 15, 2017
The alleged promotion of immorality and n*dity by the ongoing Big Brother Nigeria reality show has attracted the responses of Nigerians in the media and entertainment industry.

With just 24hrs after the scathing piece of Tori News correspondent - Osayimwen Osahon George on the questionable operations of the popular television reality show, BB Naija, the Operations Manager at WE TV, Wazobia TV, Gochu Enwereji has dropped his intellectual and cogent view on the flagrant display of amoral acts by contestants jostling for a N25 million cash prize within a period of 90 days in confinement.

The Tori News correspondent in his piece titled "Refined Pornography: The Shame of Watching Big Brother Naija" accused MultiChoice Nigeria of corrupting the young and innocent minds in the society by apparently permitting acts of indiscriminate romance, drinking and vulgar talks by contestants during the reality show.

Mr Enwereji in his Facebook post has further taken a jab at Nigerians as a whole with a statistical report of viewership of the BB Naija as against an educative school competition that has been neglected by the public for seeming ephemeral acts of romance on the contentious reality show.

He described Nigerians as "hypocrites" who have acted without due representation of the teachings of their religions be it Islam or Christianity.

Read his interesting post below:

"Mathematics competition - 2000 viewers mostly from institutions competing and their families.

Big Brother Nigeria - 4,000,000 viewers, internet is agog, SMSes are bombarded via telcos, discussion forums are unlimited ...

Moral of Story - we are hypocrites !!!...

How come all the millions of churches and mosques with their celebrity pastors/Imams and their prosperity seeking followers don't preach against such immoral and unproductive tendencies or as long as you pay your tithe and offerings, your sins are forgiven and you can go on sinning?!!!...

Who are those that watch and promote these 'ideals' ?!!! They don't attend churches or mosques or they are all pagans?!!!...

My take - just like our Politricktians, these religious rulers don't care about us or the salivation of our souls, they are plain business men ...

Watch what you sow, Nigerians ?!!! We would definitely reap it ...

#LTBN - Operation #LetsTakeBackNigeria - Yes I Can (Yes I Can Act Now) - the change begins when you and I start acting the change ... Action they say speaks loudest ... God bless Nigeria and Nigerians"

Nairaland / General / Meet The Homeless 15-year-old Ibadanboy Legally 'hustling' In Lagos For Survival by uche87(m): 4:19pm On Feb 14, 2017
Jude Okwudili, a Lagos-based photographer and videographer in the course of his business activities in the commercial capital of Nigeria was touched by the legal survival skills of a homeless teenage boy struggling to make ends meet amid scarce economic resources.

Pelumo is one of the millions of homeless kids in Nigeria with a bleak future following his humble and broken family background. The energetic small man left the largest city in West Africa, Ibadan, for greener pastures in Lagos.

He is currently working on the Victoria Island axis of Lagos as a Squeegee boy also known as windscreen cleaner from where he fends for himself with the meagre funds he makes. The vulnerable kid passes the night unsafely on the street.

Vibrant photographer, Jude Okwudili recently spotted him and shared a brief information about Pelumo (possibly Pelumi - a South-western name from the Yoruba tribe) after a parley with him.

Pelumo hopes to become a lawyer but his big dreams seem to be diminishing by the day as he lacks the financial strength to put himself through school. There are fears that crime might be introduced to the vulnerable boy by unscrupulous people corrupting innocent minds like him for their personal gains.

Read his Instagram post below:

"Meet Pelumo, 15yrs old boy from Ibadan whose room is the police signpost just by shoprite road at four point VI. According to him, his Dad and Mum are separated and he has had to fend for himself.

He makes a living wiping windscreens and hoping someone throws any denomination his side. He dreams of being a lawyer, a dream that might still come to pass. TV/Movies / Refined Pornography: The Shame Of Watching Big Brother Naija by uche87(m): 9:49am On Feb 14, 2017
"I logged on to Instagram on a Sabbath Day to connect with an old friend only to see Nigerians on the social network in raptures over a video clip of a shambolic 'Truth or Dare' game that prompted one (now evicted) Big Brother Naija housemate, Coco Ice to offer her nipple live on television for sucking by her male counterpart while the other housemates applauded as she exhibited a dance of shame in excitement.

The ferocious sucking by the male housemate showed the possibility of him being weaned ahead of time by his mother during his suckling days as a toddler.

Then I asked myself some rhetorical questions; how did we get here as Nigerians? Is this lascivicious act part of our culture, values, heritage or historical background? Keeping quiet out of diplomacy is a disservice to the society.

For posterity sake, let it be on record that I, Osayimwen Osahon George used my medium as a writer to re-orientate and re-direct Nigerians whose identities and sanity of minds have been threatened covertly by the capitalist innovations of the men that be".

When the Big Brother Africa reality game show debuted on the television screens under the platform of M-Net and Africa Magic Entertainment on the 25th of May, 2003; the imported Eurocentric initiative was re-branded to suit local realities by ambitious capitalists who were only interested in their private interests and not societal development.

The idea of bringing 12 African contestants of different nationalities under one roof was premised on the need to promote the African culture and heritage as well as encourage peaceful coexistence amongst the participants of different backgrounds and orientations who were watched by millions of people from 42 countries all over Africa. It was staged as an avenue for different individuals to showcase their unique skills and talents to the outside world.

The prize of some thousands of dollars was attractive enough to secure several applicants for the T.V show which was given rapt attention by the general public. But the paramount question is this; how well has this intercontinental programme promoted 'Africanism'?

The Big Brother Africa reality show has posed to be one of the ills of globalization with ideals that don't conform with the African life introduced to the people. This is similar to the apparent celebration of nudity by women folks under the guise of modern day fashion trends leaving their boobs, bum, hips, tummies and other sensitive body parts bared publicly just to make bold statements at social gatherings and work places.

For holistic effect, it should be noted that it was imperative to analyse the BBA first before touching the Big Brother Nigeria which is an offshoot of the former. One of the initial failings of the BBA was the outrageous amount of money charged on text messages from the audience that horizontally strolled at the base of the TV screen and also for voting. This happened in tandem with the pornographic Shower Hour.

There was a viral tentative 2013 report that the BBA raked up to N7 billion approximately from ‘The Chase’ edition after investing N375 million. Massive turnover was made from SMS charges courtesy of emotional fans.

Initially, a single SMS to the show cost an inexplicable sum of N100 as against the normal cheaper rates as at then. The programme enjoyed tons of text messages from millions of viewers who wanted to support their country representatives.

The anticipated Shower Hour captured the private moments of contestants in the bathroom. BBA through a VIP section created an online platform that was highly monetized to showcase the bathroom moments of housemates for public pleasure.

There were disturbing reports of under-aged children sneaking out of bed to enjoy the sight of the unclothedness of the adult participants. In fact, some of the participants bared it all to win the hearts of viewers and bathing was seductively done like a strip show. The cumulative effect of this was an increase in sexual relationships among kids, addiction to porn, masturbation, sexual abuses, incessant erections and wet dreams as well as high patronage of brothels among minors.

Since the nature of in-house discussions for the period of three months was unregulated, participants refrained from all educative and constructive issues to focus on common societal vices like sex, smoking, drinking, betrayal and semi-nudity etc. BBA purposely made the romantic scenes the highlights of the day to boost the curiosity of viewers and sustain their viewership.

After 10 years of dormancy, the Big Brother Nigeria which organised its maiden indigenous TV show in 2006 returned in 2017 leveraging on the progress of the BBA according to the Managing Director of MultiChoice Nigeria, John Ugbe and the show was tagged 'Big Brother Naija'.

It adopted the modalities of the BBA excluding the Shower Hour. The winner of the 11-week contest of 78 days will be given N25 million cash prize and a brand new Kia Sorento SUV car. The show sponsored by e-commerce company - Payporte started off on the wrong foot by de-marketing Nigeria on the continental business scene.

The organizers flagrantly moved their base to South Africa as they produced majorly for a Nigerian audience on the heels of a recessive local economy where the Federal Government is working laboriously to restore the confidence of investors in the corruption-ridden and infrastructural facilities-starved country.

High production, meeting timelines and usage of a fully equipped house were asserted as reasons for such an image-tarnishing move according to one Caroline Oghuma who issued a public statement for MultiChoice after the Nigerian Minister of Information and Culture – Lai Mohammed ordered a probe of the action.

Whatever the smoke-screen reasons given for public consumption, the cryptic message was clear that Nigeria in this 21st century and almost 57th year of existence amidst abundance of human and material resources lacks the adequate infrastructural facilities to produce a common 24-hour TV show not to talk of enabling business growth.

Since the night of the 22nd of January, 2017 when the Big Brother Nigeria kicked off amidst hysteria from a large section of Nigerian youths, the seeming 'adult show' has taken the place of 'soft porn' in the hearts of people.

The level of moral decadence flaunted by participants in the course of daily tasks and organised games has proven to be unrepresentative of the fundamental principles of the BBA itself. In fact, the spate of immorality have been assumed to be a subtle and viable replacement of the infamous Shower Hour for the purpose of gaining popularity amongst Nigerians and other Africans since sex sells the entertainment industry nowadays.

One might be forced to ask if this was the brightest idea of ways MultiChoice Nigeria intended to "enhance the quality and variety of content available on its platform'' as quoted from the Vanguard Newspaper. Is this the way the leadership of MultiChoice intends to unearth Nigerian talents like he they did with On-Air-Personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu? Are they recruiting for the developing soft porn industry in Nigeria which a former Nollywood actress, Judith Mazagwu self-styled Afrocandy and singer Caroline 'Maheeda' Sam have tried building in futility.

The 'Truth or Dare’ game played by housemates has ended up being horrendous. The kissing, smooching, humping, fingering, sucking and other vulgar scenes have become so provocative, uninspiring and loathsome to matured minds.

In this age of unrestricted blogging and social media resurgence, the questionable incidents on Big Brother Naija are currently flooding popular sites to serve as click baits to drive traffic.

They are being sponsored by sites and put in the face of innocent and uninterested people using social media platforms religiously.

Big Brother Naija has in its own way dignified promiscuity and distrust in the society owing to the way housemates romantically shuttle among themselves without caution or iota of mortification. Yes, it’s a game, it might seem like a painless game to viewers but it puts the state of the mind at risk and that's the easiest way to destroy a human being.

The house schedule is very simple and easily predictable. If Gifty isn't flirting with Bally, she is with Kemen or probably flirting with both simultaneously. The next one could be Bisola narrating an erotic experience with her breasts used in demonstrating while a card game is being played at the background by other housemates. Debbie Rise might be on the next scene showing us the flexibility of her waist in a seductive dance around obviously Hot young men. She could even join Gifty in twerking. Bisola and Kemen could be engaged in a kissing contest or Igwe Efe could be made her partner for presumed rotational effect.

The following highlight could be the same Bisola in another sensational French-kissing contest or she sucking the finger of Bassey to illustrate her MouthAction prowess. Uriel’s boobs could make the next scene as they are carelessly cupped in her hands during a heated argument. What about the lonely nights when Gifty shamelessly switched from the beds of the evicted Soma to that of Bally? What struck your minds when Bally did a brief dance performance for Bisola in the pool with both parties scantily clad? The Unnecessary cuddling scenes of Tboss and Miyonse before his eviction cannot be left out of the picture of flagrant immorality.

What about the infamous Bally and Coco Ice kissing contest? Soma sucking Gifty's nipples for 10 seconds, Bisola's recent intense romance with Thin Tall during which they kissed and closely caressed each other not to talk of her tongue-licking act performed on him. Coco Ice even dared Debbie to strip naked which Coco did to lighten up the mood of the house. The transmission and enforcement of corrupt ideas goes on and on unrestrained.

It will stun my readers that the lose Gifty who hails from Anambra State – South-eastern part of Nigeria is happily married to a Nollywood movie director, David Sorochukwu Akumah but the light-skinned lady has openly dishonoured her marital union in her quest for the BB Naija prize.

Without being economical with the truth, there is nothing educative about the show except if the aims and objectives have been redefined to suit the current pornographic taste.

N25 million is a whole lot of fortune to be made shortly by one person alongside the beneficial fame and other perks associated with the reality show but we shouldn't enslave ourselves because of the size of the funds. We should be more concerned about protecting the innocent and fragile minds of the young and also preparing them to grab the mantle of leadership tomorrow.

What does a child stand to learn from a Miyonse who abandoned his serious relationship to strike an illicit romance with another lady in the house – Tboss? He spent silent nights attempting to invade her 'honeypot' under the dark only to return to kissing his lover on his exit which was facilitated by his romance partner. Everybody purposely lives under the illusion that it is all a game not minding the fact that impressions of betrayal and promiscuity are being made in the hearts of people.

The human mind is a blank slate, and the society imprints on it according to the legendary English philosopher and physician, John Locke using the Blank Slate theory as a framework of analysis.

He posited validly that human minds start off empty, as blank slates, and are filled in by personal experiences. According to Locke, thoughts begin by absorbing sensation and become more complex through reflection on what is sensed.

It burns my heart that multinational brands like Legend Extra Stout and others that have failed in their social responsibilities towards Nigerian citizens are queuing behind the evicted housemates to lobby them with possible endorsements due to the media focus on them.
This is the kind of support that makes the Christian folks beg and pray for the change of the scheduled Armageddon to an earlier date to avoid colossal losses among the few souls won for Jesus Christ.

If indeed these companies endorsing the acts want to give back to the society, they could always sponsor educative competitions like the Cowbell Mathematics competition for Secondary School students, the Peak Milk Essay Competition and others to encourage formal education and discover the diamonds in the dirt. The African Independent Television, AIT constantly showcases unfortunate Nigerians with life-threatening ailments needing funds for medical attention. We urge these companies to set a good example in history by wading into such critical issues as part of their social responsibilities instead of using their profits to legalize embarrassing frivolities.

The National Broadcasting Commission in the face of an erring and provocative Big Brother Naija has proven to be another government agency established to squander the state's scarce resources. The NBC which in the past engaged in public facade operations of banning harmless Nigerian songs and musical videos for the purpose of deceiving the general public about its efficiency has again proven to be sicker than the President as it woefully fails to curtail the questionable operations of the Big Brother Naija.

Politics / Why You Might Doubt Buhari's London Pictures...see New Evidence by uche87(m): 3:42pm On Feb 10, 2017
A section of Nigerians have welcomed the latest pictures of President Buhari in London with disbelief as they point out loopholes in the purported hoax.

Since the Presidency released pictures of All Progressives Congress chieftains, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Chief Bisi Akande paying an august visit to President Muhammadu Buhari at the Abuja House in London, cynics have raised eyebrows about the authenticity of the pictures.

One social media user, Thompson Idagu Yeche has made a case against the originality of the pictures via his Facebook page. The netizen questioned why President Buhari with his highly esteemed and privileged status will be wearing one single brown Jalabia at every major visit paid to him in London where he is currently recuperating.

A vivid study of Buhari's wardrobe and physical appearances reveals the Nigerian leader of Fulani descent isn't known to evidently repeat clothes as shown during his controversial vacation in Europe.

"I wonder why someone would intentionally choose to wear the same outfit since he traveled to London".

"Is someone telling me now that our president went to London with one cloth?"

"Na kwesion (question) I dey ask so no carry your hatred come my wall."
he asked.

From the collage of pictures, a frail-looking Buhari wore his seeming favourite brown Jalabia with the same white cap while attending to the executive governor of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and then yesterday while meeting with a former governor of Lagos - Bola Tinubu and his closest ally, Bisi Akande.

These claims popularly shared among Nigerians is coming on the heels of rumours that the President could have either passed away in the United Kingdom or is currently in a vegetative state concealed from Nigerians by an influential cabal.

Meanwhile, the wild rumours might vanish into the thin air like smoke if Buhari returns to Nigeria tomorrow, Saturday according to a Presidency source.

Politics / Open Letter: Our President Who Art In London, Buhari Be Thy Name by uche87(m): 2:37pm On Feb 07, 2017
Dear President Muhammadu Buhari,

I hope your recuperation is on course as reported by your special adviser on media and publicity - Femi Adesina? I also hope the United Kingdom weather is not too harsh on your skin sir?

Despite the suspicious reports from your media team about a normal 10-day vacation turning to an indefinite sick leave, some of us are still praying for you for the love and solidarity to our ailing country, Nigeria.

There have been conflicting press statements about your state of health. Some ridiculous people claim you are already dead and that you have been summarily buried in London according to Islamic rites. Some 'gods of men' who predicted your death in their Churches have been jeering up for the dreaded outcome to cement their credibility at the expense of our beloved country. I was flabbergasted recently when a social media user alleged you were supposed to undergo a critical brain transplant which failed. In uneasy hilarity, the netizen claimed your brains were supposed to be swapped with that of a brilliant white man to help us overcome the menace of economic recession already driving towards national depression.

SaharaReporters, your supposed old friend even alleged you could be in London for about 4 months due to a proposed major surgical operation to solve a myriad of health challenges confronting you.

All these mean rumours and malicious reports shouldn't astound you sir, some brains of the common men can't function to optimum level due to lack of balanced diet. We are not eating to grow or enjoy ourselves like we did under the administration of former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan; under you we are eating simply to survive until 2019 when we can do the needful democratically.

As a political scientist sir, I envisage that the 'silent voters' that saw off the U.S Democratic Party presidential candidate in the last election, Hillary Clinton in your own case might come from the northern region which is your stronghold. The concept of political behaviour has overtime proven to be unforeseeable and you could be the victim due to the current economic vulnerability of the people.

The country has remained divided into two major groups of people. The expectant masses that have been chained in their quest for your 'change' under the All Progressives Congress-led administration makes up the first group and they are ridden with a rare combo of fierce anger and hunger.

The second group of people are the privileged few with links to the current players of the APC power formation. They are perceived to have a huge financial base that cushions the effect of the current economic recession. They are presently eating at the political dining table and will likely not talk in strict observance of table manners.

The first group is a very bitter and vicious team crippled with the rising cost of living in Nigeria. The members are more affected with the gap between the naira and the dollar at the parallel market. Some of them have recorded colossal financial losses in the contentious Russian Ponzi Scheme - Mavrodi Mondial Moneybox, MMM partially due to the failings of this current government.

This group of people have no electricity in their homes despite paying inflated power bills courtesy of your Minister of Darkness, sorry I mean Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola. They lack potable water, access to soft loans to start businesses and they have committed the security of their lives and properties in the hands of the hosts of heaven.
Some of them have lost their jobs with several hungry mouths to feed. Some of the workers in this star-crossed group are yet to be paid salaries for months by their state governments as well as mushroom private companies. Others have had their salaries slashed due to the economic squeeze while a few of those who retained their usual salaries have become born again Christians after being incapacitated by the current inflationary trend.

Some of us are of the opinion that your medical leave was an intelligent measure devised by you to escape the series of eardrum-piercing news plaguing Nigeria from all the six geopolitical zones. It has been alleged that you needed to pass time in a country that is closer to God geographically.

Innocent 'Tuface' Idibia bewildered Nigerians when he backed out of the national protest he convened with advocacy group, Enough is Enough. The peaceful protest was scheduled to agitate for good governance and a better deal for the masses from an administration that was railroaded to power on bombastic political statements.

Reports have it that Tuface kowtowed to intense pressure from security operatives who threatened the legendary musician with cooked up reports that the protest was going to be hijacked by outlaws. Tuface wanted to achieve a heroic deed on a platter of gold without sacrifices.
The last thing the Benue native wanted was to be fed with Egusi soup and Garri behind bars like other activists have suffered.

As Tuface ran under the long wrapper of his wife - Annie Macauley Idibia; comedian Seyi Law, former PMAN president - Charles 'Charly Boy' Oputa, Nollywood actress - Mercy Aigbe Gentry, Sahara Reporters publisher - Omoyele Sowore and other prominent Nigerians stepped in to inspire the protest amidst threats by security operatives.

Gallant Nigerian youths poured out for the peaceful procession which took place majorly in Abuja, Lagos State and then on a residual note, in Ibadan and Akwa Ibom according to available pictorial evidences. The northern part of the country as well as the South-east dumbfoundedly sat on the fence yesterday despite poverty being rife in the former. The signs of blind loyalty, religion and ethnicity could be perceived but the question is; for how long?

Dear President, the protesters risked being shot and killed like the supporters of the Independent People of Biafra, IPOB to make a bold statement against you. This is a dent on your popularity. It’s a watershed on a brewing public revolt to end your reign just like former President Jonathan's political annihilation was hatched at the Gani Fawehinmi freedom park, Ojota - Lagos during the massive protest against the removal of fuel subsidy in January, 2012.
This is a family war involving a father and his children. Any successful attack spells self-destruction and it’s a close shave for both parties with high-costs of victory.

Dear Sir, the #IStandWithBuhari protest organised by the the Pro-Buhari activists as a counter response to the anti-government group - #IStandWithNigeria purposely at the same Unity Park venue in Abuja was a dance of shame. Investigations revealed that the pro-Buhari crowd was bought with a paltry sum of N1,000 by one faceless ‘mobilizer’. Two of the participating ladies admitted their ignorance about the burden of the protest as they begged for a pitiable sum of N100 to buy water under the scorching sun. This is unrepresentative of the true values and public faith that put you on the pedestal you are today. On social media, anybody standing with you is regarded as a 'Yaba Left' candidate (psychiatric patient). I have to truthfully admit I have covered my face in shame and ashes a thousand times for rooting for you sir.

One of your major supporters, Omoyele Sowore at the national stadium - Surulere, Lagos yesterday advocated for a political revolution to cleanse Nigeria and the listening crowd gave him a nod to signify their loss of faith in you sir.
As I viewed several protest pictures on the internet, I noticed the anti-government protesters might have lagged behind in numbers due to government intimidation and undue meddlesomeness, but their voices were louder in unison without a megaphone.
Their high spirits in the mood of activism assisted me in picturing the day of Pentecost in the Holy Bible when the disciples were unfathomably yoked with the Holy Ghost which attracted all and sundry to their abode. (Acts Chapter 2 vr 1-12).

I was totally moved when I saw a physically-challenged man rolling out his wheelchair with a placard in his hand reading; "What happened to the naira". This is the same local currency you promised to equate with the dollar during the 2015 election campaign period. It appears you might have meant otherwise sir as the naira exchanged for a dollar at the rate of N503 to N506 yesterday, 6th of February, 2017.

Your present long distance relationship with Nigeria that has complicated our road to ruination seems dead on arrival as the youths and other stakeholders now call for your resignation. There are reports that your administration has been successfully hijacked by a cabal without the interests of the people at heart.

Nigeria is now being ruled at a critical time by international phone calls from a sick president presumably on a sick bed. How did we get here and where are we going to? And how can we get out?

As the unfair hands of sickness make our strong Buhari so frail and hideous like the saga surrounding the death of former President Shehu Musa Yar'dua in 2010, Nigerians have lost hope and patience to look forward to 2019 peacefully. Damages are being done to the psyche of Nigerians everyday due to grave economic challenges confronting your administration.

While you are away sir, Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State publicly revealed a supposed 'divine unction' to be the future president of Nigeria. True lovers of Nigeria have seized the opportunity of lack of money and food to join the ongoing Redeemed Christian Church of God's 40-day fasting and prayer to deter the verbose People's Democratic Party chieftain in the spiritual realm.
The years of the locust, our afflictions, journey through the wilderness and the PDP years shall not rise again!

Dear Buhari, our camp of supporters has been divided like a piece of meat shared among siblings after a meal as done in a typical impoverished African home.

I love you sir but I seem not to know where I stand anymore. Other supporters seem more confused than me. There are indications that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar might be heralded as our new messiah in 2019 to retire you. I fear for the doomed fate of the national treasury sir. I have a strong premonition that 'she' could be raped to death with Hot political jobbers taking turns on her.
The streets are in disarray as hunger and despair have left us speaking Chinese despite not leaving the shores of this country for once in our lives.

A social media user and ridiculous political strategist suggested that this country should be finally sold and the proceeds shared among Nigerian citizens so that all parties can move on and forget about the country. I died 6 times when I read that suggestion sir as it measures the degree of hopelessness in this administration.

I will drop my pen here sir as I have strained my eyes writing you this letter in darkness, intense heat with some mosquito musicians feasting on my blood like they are marking an annual insect festival.

I pray you don't ignore my letter to focus on cartoons as your assistant media aide, Garba Shehu once alleged you are engrossed with.
On a lighter note, I personally miss you sir. May the almighty God protect you and grant you a quick recovery sir.

With love from Osayimwen Osahon George,
Festac Town, Lagos State.

Romance / So Hilarious: Man Caught Having Hot Sex In The Bush With Partner (pics+video) by uche87(m): 5:19pm On Feb 06, 2017
A Hot man in a remote village was pictured in a heated s*x romp with his lover only to be interrupted by a nosy friend.

This is a hilarious comedy skit from the stable of Baudex about a couple having a nice time in a nearby busy only to be busted by a friend that tried to stop the pleasure session.

The plot of the skit pictures a local Yoruba community where the two locals decided to ease tension in a nearby farm. The nosy friend who intentionally wanted to disrupt the secret s*x was stunned as the couple while still positioned in a s*xual position warned the intruder to stay off.

The lady in the feeling of ecstasy asked the intruder named Muse to go away claiming she is an adult and she is no way related to him to warrant a concern.

Watch the very hilarious video below:
