Crime / OMG!! Man Kills Ex-girlfriend And Her Two Daughters (you Won’t Believe Why) by uduakan: 5:38am On May 22, 2020
A South Carolina man furious that his ex-girlfriend went to the beach with another man fatally shot her and her two daughters before turning the gun on himself, authorities said.

Gabriel Jordan, 37, committed the carnage on Sunday outside the St. Matthews home of his ex, Shanta Singleton, according to a police report obtained by the Times and Democrat of Orangeburg.

Cops said Jordan initially choked Singleton before shooting her when one of her four daughters at the home tried to intervene.

Jordan then shot 12-year-old Tre’vay Stroman after she jumped on his back, Calhoun County deputies said.

He next took aim at 18-year-old Shantasia Stroman, who was struck in the arm and escaped to a neighbor’s.

As Stroman ran away, she saw Jordan chasing her 15-year-old sister, Essence Stroman, into their house. Essence was later found dead, according to the report.

Jordan’s body was found with a pistol next to him, deputies said.

One of two surviving children told investigators that Jordan followed her mom and another man home from Myrtle Beach.

The daughter said Jordan snapped after Singleton told him their on-again-off-again relationship was finished.
Health / OH NO!! Baby Reportedly Dies After Wearing Facemask To Prevent Coronavirus by uduakan: 7:28am On May 20, 2020
A Twitter user has claimed that a baby whose parents wore facemask while trying to prevent coronavirus died.

A social media user has shocked her followers after claiming that a year old baby died after wearing facemask.

The Twitter, user @The_Ronkee has questioned parents for wearing babies facemask.

Many users were left in shock by the claim, as they questioned why someone would wear a mask for a baby.

People have been warned against wearing a face mask for a baby. Both the CDC and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) advise against mask-wearing in individuals under age two years.

If a mask is too tight, an infant or toddler may not be able to vocalize breathing difficulties.

If an infant falls asleep while wearing a mask, they can, indeed, suffocate in a manner very similar to what happens to a baby suffering from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, or SIDS.

Politics / Coronavirus: I’ve Been Taken Hydroxychloroquine Every Day – President Trump by uduakan: 9:34am On May 19, 2020
US President Donald Trump has revealed that he is taking anti-malaria drugs, hydroxychloroquine for weeks now.

Trump made the surprising revelation during his White House COVID-19 daily press briefing on Monday.

US medical experts had warned that the anti-malaria drug is not suitable for fighting the novel coronavirus.

Trump, who noted that he has tested negative for COVID-19 and shows no symptoms of the virus said he had been taking the drug “for about a week and a half.”

He said,

“I take a pill every day,” adding that he also takes zinc as a preventative measure.

Pressed further on his reason for taking the drugs, he said “because I think it’s good. I’ve heard a lot of good stories.”

Trump has often played down the dangers of coronavirus, including last week when he said it threatened only a small number of people.

He has also pointedly refused to wear a mask, despite federal recommendations and the fact that most of his staff have taken to covering their faces in public.

By contrast, he has shown interest for weeks in promoting the use of hydroxychloroquine.

Trump’s extensive remarks about his use of hydroxychloroquine as a preventative measure came out of the blue.

“You’d be surprised at how many people are taking it, especially the front-line workers before you catch it.

“The front-line workers — many, many are taking it. I happen to be taking it, I happen to be taking it,” Trump said.

“I’m taking it, hydroxychloroquine, right now, yeah. A couple of weeks ago, I started taking it,” he added.

Trump said the use of the medicine was approved by the White House physician.

However, he insisted that he, not the doctor, took the first step.

“I asked him, what do you think? He said if you’d like it. I said yeah, I’d like it.”

“It seems to have an impact, and maybe it does, maybe it doesn’t but if it doesn’t, you’re not going to get sick or die,” Trump said. “I take a pill every day. At some point I’ll stop.”

Why Trump is taking the disputed remedy when he frequently insists he is in no danger from COVID-19, is not clear.

Some people in the White House have tested positive for the virus. But Trump said again Monday he showed “zero symptoms.”

“Every couple days they want to test me, you know, for obvious reasons. I mean I am the president, so they want to test me.

“I don’t want to be tested but they want to test me,” he said. “I’ve shown always negative,” he added.

Its very painful and I understand her plight.... If you've never been in that mess, you may not really feel her pain.
However, I condemn her actions.... She actually went to the extreme. Because she may even lose the man forever but there are measures she would have taken and still get her man back
Politics / Politics Of Covid-19: Governor Yahaya Bello Of Kogi State Speaks... by uduakan: 1:50am On May 17, 2020
Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi state strikes again.

"NCDC is marketing # CoronaVirus and destroying our Lives.

Enough of this # Covid -19 Nonsense. 386 new cases? We have played fool enough!!!
And you have discharged 679... What did you give to this ones you discharged?
# Covid -19 is a war, and in times of war you get everyone prepared. Tell Nigerians what this ones discharged took and let everyone take it and be safe.
Is Corona more deadlier than Tuberculosis, Sars, Pneumonia, Aids?
Early detection saves the life; tell people how to boost their immune system and stop creating marchants out of Corona.
People are dying everyday for more serious ailments because they can't access hospitals. People have diabetes, kidney issues, liver issues, heart diseases, cancer, BP, labour complications, Hiv, Brain issues, Lung disease, etc, some need to go to other states to access hospital services... They are dying in numbers and no one is counting them because you are counting Corona.

We were told the symptoms of Corona are cough, catarh, difficulty in breathing, and the mortality rate is very minimal which we have seen in the results NCDC have been releasing.
These symptoms things people have been suffering from and we have been managing them well here in hospitals here in Nigeria, we have seen people with difficulties in breathing and they were treated.

Why are we marketing Corona in Nigeria?
Why are we harming ourselves intentionally?
Creating fears, hardship and tension on innocent citizens.
You promised 40,000 testing in 1 month, and this is almost 2months and you haven't tested 20,000
3000+ active cases and 679 discharged, which confirms mortality is less than 6%. Why then do you want to kill the entire country with fears.
Do you know how people struggle to survive in this country? Do you know the more hardship you are forcing on people by marketing Corona?

Now we will be forced to open our borders for importation of rice, can foods and all sorts of junks again cos we will be running out of food soon , at a time we were almost food sufficient.
Enough of this politics that NCDC is playing with our Lives

This is the second month we Shutdown our offices with no means of livelihood, and you are just counting numbers for us daily.
Are you really concerned about our plight and survival?
First you took to every Tv and Radio station to market Corona. Every second they advertise Corona, to instil fear!

Health / WHO Opens Up On Madagascar Herbal Potion That Cures Coronavirus by uduakan: 4:09am On May 15, 2020
Following criticism over its refusal to approve Madagascar herbal potion, WHO has reacted.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has accepted to scientifically test Madagascar’s herbal remedy said to cure coronavirus.

DPA reports that WHO Africa Director, Matshidiso Moeti stated this on Thursday.

“We have offered to support the design of a study to look into this product,” Moeti said.

Moeti disclosed that WHO officials had met with the Madagascan leadership to discuss under which conditions such a study could take place.

The body said it was determined to test the efficacy of the product.

“We are not discouraging the product but we would like for it to be tried out. So when we are (making it broadly available), it’s based on some evidence,” Matshidiso said.

Madagascar’s medication called “COVID Organics” was prepared by the Malagasy Institute for Applied Research.

It is made out of artemisia, a plant cultivated on the Indian Ocean island.

President Andry Rajoelina announced that the remedy already cured some Madagascans of COVID-19.

“This plant strengthens immunity and protects against numerous viruses and fever and especially lung diseases,” Rajoelina said.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian government is in the process of taking delivery of the herbal concoction.
Politics / Nnamdi Kanu Blames Owners Of Demolished Hotels In Rivers State by uduakan: 11:45pm On May 12, 2020
Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB has absolved Rivers State governor, Barr Nyesom Wike of blames in the demolition of two hotels in the state at the weekend.

Kanu in a press statement, signed by the publicity secretary of the group, Emma Powerful said the governor was only trying to protect his people.

Kanu rather blamed the owners of the hotel for flouting the lockdown order.

Kanu said,

“We must understand that operators of that very establishment risked the lives of thousands of people in Rivers State and beyond.

“Potentially, they could have brought infections and death to thousands of people, either through Coronavirus infected Almajiri or by inadvertently providing accommodation to Fulani killers streaming into our towns and villages from the North.

Kanu, however, lamented that such demolition which was generating comments from all quarters had been done by the present governor of Kaduna State, Nasir el-Rufai while he was still the minister of federal capital territory, and nothing happened.

“When El-Rufai was busy terrorizing and pauperising thousands of Biafran businessmen by demolishing their hotels, bars, restaurants and homes in Abuja, some of the raging hypocritical voices of righteous indignation we are hearing today were never heard.

“They never uttered a word, nor made a sound because they were and still are afraid of the murderous tendencies of their Fulani masters who are still demolishing legitimate Igbo businesses in Abuja.”

Kanu’s, however, described Wike’s action as overreaching, saying,

“l do not condone it because he went too far.”

Politics / Default Face Mask Order And Risk Quarantine In Isolation Centre–Delta State Govt by uduakan: 1:35pm On May 05, 2020
Delta Government has warned that anyone seen in public without face mask would be taken to any of the Isolation Centres in the state.

Commissioner for Information in the state, Mr Charles Aniagwu, made this known in Asaba on Monday and said that the measure was part of the resolutions reached at a meeting of the Technical Committee for the Prevention of Covid-19 in Delta.

According to Aniagwu who briefed the media at the end of the meeting, relaxing the lockdown for economic reasons should not jeopardize the safety of the people.

He said that the compulsory use of face mask by all individuals appearing in public has commenced across the state, and that persons seen in public without the mask would be taken straight to the isolation centre,

“because it will mean that you have the virus and want to infect others’’.

“Anybody seen in a tricycle, `Okada’ or taxi without face mask will lead to the impounding of the tricycle, okada or taxi, and any business centre that attends to a customer who is not putting on face mask risks being closed permanently.

“The Technical Committee for the Prevention of Covid-19 in Delta met this afternoon and the meeting was presided by our Governor, and at the meeting, it was resolved that all health workers involved in the management of Covid-19 will receive their allowances before the end of the week.

“Also, other support staff involved in the management of Covid-19 in the health sector will also be insured,”

He restated that the period of the curfew in the state remained between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m., and reaffirmed that no vehicle would be allowed into the State during the period, irrespective of the consignment being conveyed.

“We have created more mobile courts for the issue of adjudication for those persons who will not obey the law, because as a government, we are committed to applying preventive approach in tackling Covid-19.

“As a government, we have the responsibility to protect our people and the use of face mask which must be worn properly to cover the mouth and nose must be implemented, and we must also know that there is no alternative to social distancing, regular washing of hands with soap and avoid touching of eyes, mouth and ears.

“We should adopt the mentality that every other person is a potential risk; assume that the other person is a carrier for you not to get close,”

Aniagwu said and urged residents to heed government’s regulations on the management of the pandemic.

Politics / Leave Goodluck Jonathan And Wife Or We Bring Down Nigeria – Nnamdi Kanu Warn FG by uduakan: 11:05am On May 01, 2020
Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has advised ex-President Goodluck Jonathan to challenge the allegations against him by President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

Kanu said this on Thursday while reacting to moves by Buhari administration to subpoena bank records of Jonathan and his wife, Patience.

The IPOB leader warned that his group would no longer tolerate the intimidation and harassment of former President Jonathan and his wife, Dame Patience.

IPOB also said those who were calling for the accounts of Dr Jonathan and his wife were the real people looting funds in Nigeria.

Kanu urged Jonathan to abandon his ‘gentleman toga’ and confront the government headlong.

He said:

“They are now pursuing former President Goodluck Jonathan after looting the country and are now shopping for loans from lending agencies.

They have not given the account of the N13.9 billion meant for Aso Rock clinic, yet the same people are asking for the account of a former president and his wife to disgrace them and make them scapegoats in their misrule.

“They are also pursuing Mrs. Diezani Madueke because they want to divert attention of Nigerians and the world from their incompetence and looting, but they have not responded to the allegation of looting of N13.9 billion meant for Aso Rock clinic which alarm was raised by the wife of their president against the cabal in the government.

“We in IPOB are warning them to leave former President Jonathan and his wife, Patience, alone.

“You may toy with Jonathan because he allowed you to do that to him, but do not toy with Patience, otherwise we will bring down Nigeria.

“We are surprised that PANDEF and Ohanaeze Ndigbo have all kept quiet to this renewed attack on Jonathan.

“It is high time Dr Jonathan dropped his gentleman’s toga and defend himself, his wife and family members.”

Meanwhile, Jonathan had in a statement by his Spokesman, Ikechikwu Eze clarified that he has no account or property abroad

Education / No Date Yet For Schools Resumption – Education Minister by uduakan: 5:20am On Apr 29, 2020
The Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba, has said that despite the announcement by the President, on a gradual relaxation of the lockdown, the Federal Ministry of Education could not foresee or give any date when schools will be resuming in the country.

Nwajiuba said this while responding to newsmen during a briefing by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 pandemic on Tuesday in Abuja.

The minister said,

“The President actually addressed the issue of the opening of the economy gradually. Until that is done, we can’t foresee or immediately tell you when all the schools will be reopened. It will not be proper for us to simply give you a date.

It has to be in tandem with these opening terms. We don’t want to put our children at risk. None of these schools can function on their own without the society.

“On the question of children promoting to the next class, those exams will happen when we are satisfied that the children have learnt what is enough for them to move.

For those who are in the exit classes of junior basic and senior secondary schools, we are preparing them and will continue to.

“This will go on until we are sure that they are equipped for the external examinations. The West African Examinations Council has not cancelled their external exams. It was postponed indefinitely.

This indefinite nature is so that we can get a definite date. Students will still have to go and take those exams when we are sure that we have taken good care of the pupils.”

Meanwhile, the Federal Capital Territory Administration Education Secretariat has cautioned schools against re-opening, noting that it had not issued any directive for resumption of academic activities.

The acting Secretary for Education, FCTA, Umaru Marafa, in a statement on Tuesday, affirmed that the directive closing all schools at the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic explicitly stated that it would be in effect “until further notice.”

Ghana has confirmed 271 new cases of Coronavirus just a week after lifting lockdown in Accra and Kumasi, the country’s two largest cities.

According to Ghana Web, Ghana Health Service (GHS) confirmed the 271 new cases on Sunday to take their total number to 1,550. A new death from the disease was also recorded.

The death toll now stands at 11 with 155 persons recovering from the disease.

The Ghana Health Service data analysis also revealed that 62 percent of infected persons in Ghana are male while 38 percent are female.

It was also disclosed that only 16 percent of infected persons have a travel history with a staggering 84 percent having no clear history of travel.

A week ago, Ghana’s President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo lifted a three-week lockdown in two cities, Accra and Kumasi citing improved coronavirus testing and the “severe” impact of the restrictions on the poor and vulnerable in the country.

According to him, the decision did not mean the government was letting its guard down, saying existing bans on public gatherings and school closure were still in place.

He urged Ghanaians to wear masks when going outside and to continue adhering to social distancing measures put in place to halt the spread of Coronavirus.
