Not again. I thought they've imbibed change and are now protectors of Nigerians. Or were this blood suckers only jealous that South African's are also attacking Nigerians?
Politics / Re: Nigeria Will Evacuate Nationals If South Africa Attacks Worsen – Minister by uken73(m): 2:52pm On Apr 17, 2015
Hmm. I wonder why they are only targeting fellow African's. The same people that rallied around them and fought for their freedom from apatite.
Or is this perpetuated by white South Africans?
Xenophobia in South Africa dates back to 1994 and are mainly targeted at citizens of other African Countries.

Omo see Gobe. The era of getting a position through a party and dumping it soon after is over.
I think there should even be more stringent rules for switching parties, even for non-office holders. That will better strengthen democracy. Not that almost every politician will abandon ship when their party looses thereby leaving the polity without strong opposition.

Good. All African countries should show their displeasure for this nonsense.
Wonder why Nigeria is not taking the lead on this. Other countries seem to value their citizens more.

This is serious. I saw this as foolishness, but I'm beginning to have a rethink. This guy will soon need a manager to help him maintain his firm an endorsements will soon follow. I see him making it big from this.

Nigerian elections are still very far from being free and fair. There was rigging by both sides in every state. However, it's very difficult to rig and emerge the winner if you don't have most of the people on your side. Everyone knows that Wike will still win in a free & fair election. They must have rigged for the purpose of producing a result that will embarrass Amaechi, but they should better watch that it doesn't backfire as APC heads to the court.

Lol.

A chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kano State (names withheld) allegedly abandoned his agbada and jumped a fence, while evading arrest over electoral offences.

See how they bring disgrace to themselves in the name of politics. SMH

Politics / Re: FG Will Rescue Chibok Girls Before May 29 – Dasuki by uken73(m): 7:17pm On Apr 14, 2015
Media & lies. I've not seen anywhere the story says the NSA promises Chibok girls will be rescued before May 29.
The only related parts of the story I see are the following or am I missing something?

The NSA who spoke to PRNigeria, a media agency that distributes press releases on behalf of security agencies, also promised that Sambisa Forest, the fortress of Boko Haram terrorists and one of their last remaining camps will be stormed and liberated before the May 29, 2015 presidential hand-over date.

He insisted that government is concerned about the welfare of every single Nigerian including the girls adding “aside the Chibok girls, other Nigerian girls, boys, men and women were abducted by the terrorists and all efforts are being made to rescue them all.”

Hope she can help.
I think this kind of information should be directed to the security agents and not published this early.
I'm not sure what use this information is to the general populace except to feed our curiosity and elicit sympathy for the victim, and soon the terrorists may get a hand on this and relocate. I think the press can do better than this.

Hmm, they should make sure the witnesses are comfortable to give their testimony and should not be put at risk o.
This is very important to have witness cooperation in the future. I'm sure the prosecution must have already promised/assured the witnesses of their safety. Hope the court does not jeopardize this.
Some countries even have Witness Protection Schemes/Programmes. I don't know if we have such.

queenprecy:
pls can anyone guide me on how to open a school and what it can cost. pls Ur help is highly appreciated. Thanks
I'm also interested in owning and running a school someday. It's in my long term plan & I'm currently working on increasing my capital base and a few other logistics.
From the little of your posts & responses I've read, I understand that;
1. You have a little experience as a teacher (Very Important, but would have been best if you have a management level experience too, like that of a Principal or Vice).
2. You don't have much in terms of Capital.

In my own terms, I would say schools can be started by an Investor or a School Administrator. As an Investor, you have enough money to invest and can hire experts to handle almost everything while you just supervise. An administrator can also have capital, but has reasonable working knowledge of the education system. This knowledge can greatly reduce the amount of money you will spend in setting up. And an administrator can even start so small (even with no capital).

In your case where capital is a challenge, you should consider starting as an after school lesson class. This way, you won't need too much to start and you would gradually build the confidence and goodwill that will encourage people to send their wards to you. To get a quick start, you can start the lessons free even if it's in your backyard. The idea can be itemized as follows;
1. You don't need much to get started.
2. You use the opportunity to build a reputation. If parents realize their wards performances in school improves after sending them for extra lessons with you, they now believe in you and many will be ready to withdraw their wards to join your school when you get started.
3. You can be the only teacher for a start and not need to worry about paying anyone. By the time you have a reasonable number and begin to charge, you can engage others to assist you and pay as little as you can afford.
4. You won't need to bother about registration at this time.

If you are good, in a little while your small extra lesson group grows, you begin to charge, you now have little money that you can begin engaging other hands for assistance and you have a little pool to start you new school from. If your lessons class grows to a good number, you would have learnt a lot and made friends with many parents. Most of these parents would even begin suggest and urge you to start your own school. You share the idea with as many parents and get their feedback. When you see you have many of them encourage and promise to enroll their wards, then you have the confidence to start. By this time, you should have also been able to raise some capital from the little you've done so far. At this time you can also have the confidence to get loan from family & friends. (I won't encourage going for bank loan). Bank loan can be a serious burden. Bank loan can only be reasonable when you are well established with good turnover, unless you have other means of repaying the loan aside from your young school. If you have made many parents happy, you will have a good number that will be willing to assist you. At this stage you can consider renting an apartment (if you don't already have one). And go for one that will be enough for your student population and a little allowance for expansion, and is also at your reach to pay. You will likely be starting with one or two classes, depending on the responses you got from parents. You can continue with the after school lessons for both your new school children and other children from other schools that you don't yet have a class for. And you can grow from there.

I think this is the simplest way to start where you don't have capital. It will require lots of patience and hard work, but if you are good, you'll make it.
