supercharged:Mind you, that is actually VB.NET. I believe libraries for PHP also exists. I guess that is what dhtml18 is talking about in his post. |

There is already a thread on this. https://www.nairaland.com/1844641/u.s-government-claims-exclusive-ownership |

lakpalakpa: The good thing is the evidence they have left behind while escaping. I just hope this will be used to teach the bunch of hoodlums lessons so that they know they are not above the law. 3 Likes |

austertee01: Reflecting on some major achievements of GEJ administration, from electricity, transportation, Health, banking industry, manufacturing and Business investment....Goodluck has tried. I only wish he could properly handle insecurity too. It's not funny having development but without peace of mind to enjoy the development. I wouldn't mind seeing a new person from any party. Hopefully a new face would come with new ideas. My opinion. |

With all these Intel, I would expect them to be on the offensive & move on the suspects instead of being on the defensive. |

Sure waste of time. He should just try to see if he can be re-elected as Gov for 2nd term, which is still shaky. 2 Likes |

glory2glory: Punch newspaper is ignorant. The people are under surveillance with their movements restricted in their homes, they are communicated to daily. They only move them to quarantine or isolation centres if they develop symptoms. This was how it was done in Lagos. Presently, 3 persons have symptoms and have been moved to the isolation centres. Reporters like making sensations for headlines. That's what sells their news. |

SMH for politicians. Must everything be viewed with political advantage in mind? |

Just a sensational heading to drive traffic to the thread. Op, you should be a journalist. |

Nice. Not a designer but do use Photoshop. This knowledge would be helpful. |

supercharged:I currently use mostly VB.NET. But other languages I have knowledge of include Java, C#.NET & C++(been ages I last did a project on that). I had used Oracle PL/SQL for my final year project but have not done anything with it since then. In VB you would reference an appropriate library (Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel) for excel manipulations 'Following are code snippets to access Excel Imports Microsoft.Office.Interop 'Importing of supporting library for Microsoft Office operations |

Capnd143: please help me check the code above! ThanksCheck the Javanian's recommendation. That's the logical way to go. The summary of the recommendation is, you pre-load your data say in the constructor. You now have the data in the Resultset and can make it to start up with displaying the 1st Record in the list. Then you fetch the next record from the ResultSet by moving the cursor on an ActionEvent of your Next button. So each time the mouse is clicked, the cursor is advanced one step to fetch the next record. However, to add to that, There should also be provision to close the database connection so as to release the scarce resource. That should be "cont.close();" as the last statement after ResultSet rs3=stmtt.executeQuery(SQL); in the InitDatabase() method. I also think Javanian missed the catch handler section for the try blocks including that of the InitDatabase method. I would have declared my connection before the try block without initialization, so that I can have access to the variable in the catch handler section of the try block. That would be the best place to close the database connection. Note; It's been years since I last handled a project with Java, I may have missed some other things. |

asalimpo:True, Linus deserves respect. But our world doesn't give you much respect without seeing money on you. |

toshodei:Well, on that light, I wont really argue with with you, but I'm not sure how Larry Ellison of Oracle really connects with Android Apps neither do I understand how Jerry Yang of Yahoo contribute to YouTube. I've never heard of Google videos, but I bet Google saw something special in YouTube before deciding to go for it even when they already had something. If they didn't I'm sure some other bigger coy (maybe Microsoft or Facebook) would have. Java & it's owning coy was doing farely well before Oracle came into the picture. Mind you, Sun Microsystem had Sun Solaris Os (a linux breed) which was mostly used by Telecoms Coys. 1 Like |

supercharged: Gurus in the house, is there any way that i can query data that is in excel to appear in to a html web page?It definitely can be done. But you didn't indicate what platform/language you wish to use so that you can get help from the right people who are knowledgeable with your preferred tool set. |

Yes Null Pointer Exception indicates an attempt to access an uninitialized variable and like Javanian has already said, it's most likely the ResultSet rs. Confirm that it has been initialized. |

It's unfortunate that Linus is not an Entrepreneur and has not made the kind of money these other guys have made but as for the impact of his inputs, I think only Bill Gates can be a worthy comparison. I won't argue with someone who says he's more impactful than Bill though. 2 Likes |

toshodei:Guy, I think you got some of those names mixed up. You are right about Jack Dorsey & Jerry Yang rounding Yahoo. Larry Ellison is founder of Oracle Corp. Even though Oracle has bought Sun Microsystems, the original vendor of Java, James Gosling is the Inventor of Java. And Android would be attributed to Google and Google was founded by Larry Page and Sergey Brin. YouTube however was founded by Chad Hurley, Steve Chen, and Jawed Karim. 1 Like |

This is a strong one. 2015 would pose lots of Surprises. This is just the beginning. Atiku has said he is RUNNING in 2015. Kwankwaso is also RUNNING.... Buhari is RUNNING as well... Goodluck Jonathan will RUN... Amaechi said he has interest in RUNNING. Oshiomole is set to declare his interest to RUN. Rochas Okorocha is also set to RUN. Tambuwal is ready to RUN too. And now Lamido also wants to RUN. My questions are: 1. Where are they RUNNING to? 2. Who is pursuing them? 3. Do we have Olympics in Nigeria in 2015? 4. Is it 100m or 200m race? Abi na Marathon? 5. Which stadium are they using? 6. What about you reading this, Won't you RUN? Please after reading this ...start RUNNING and don't look back..Because me too am also running. 35 Likes 10 Shares
