I’m having symptoms of gastritis/peptic ulcer
Stooling weight loss and a couple of others but when this newly started I weighed about 68kg then over the course of three months I noticed my body muscles and mass were changing
My wrists have become more skinny I can feel an overall lightness in my body and accurately I’ve checked my weight in so many hospitals I’ve gotten as low as 62kg but I just checked now and the scale shows 66kg meaning I added 4kg extra but visibly my arms and wrist are still skinny I can’t wear tshirts as at now but the scale says I added weight

Could the scale be lying? Or could it be I’m losing muscle instead of weight

Good morning people I’ve done all the tests in this life nothing has come up but my tummy is telling me “hey bro look at me it’s me!!”.

My symptoms

Significant and unintentional Weight loss
Food comes up to throat when I belch Almost like I wanna throw up
I struggle to belch sometimes it’s like I force the belch
Constant Stooling every morning and mostly when I drink milk, stool has a foul smell
Upper stomach slight pain and discomfort/ burning sensation slightly
Palpitations and high blood pressure








My tummy is screaming for help, doctors keep telling me ulcer I’ve done scans, the last one said “mild probe tenderness in Epigastric region” but I don’t want them to start the cycle of giving me omeprazole over and over again it’s not helping..
at this point I need to see a gastroenterologist but I don’t know about the availability of them around me.. do they exist?? I know they do but I’ve never come across them

I think mine started towards the end of may. I have been sick since then till now. First was malaria test and typhoid test and the result said I had malaria, which I was given injection and medication for because my legs were weak and my eyes were turning me like I wanted to faint. The second test was fbc, liver function test with some other test. Alt and ast was high? Cholesterol was high as well. They just told me that I have some issues with my liver enzymes and that I should take Livloyn forte which I took for almost one month and I avoided meat and fatty food.

I went back to another hospital with my test result because I was still feeling generally unwell after treating malaria. The doctor didn’t run any further test aside from the one I did before and he said it was acute liver disease. Alcohol that I hardly drink at all. He gave me some medication and I started taking them. I took them for 5 days and i stopped because the side effect was crazy. What if he was wrong with the diagnosis!

I went to another hospital and they did the test again and said I had malaria ++ and H.pylori was positive. I took injection for 3 days and continued with the malaria tablets, while I was still on pyrox combi for the H.pylori that was detected from the blood test. I took the medication for almost 3 weeks and I could still feel the pain on my chest and by the right side of my stomach and I was still feeling cold and feverish. He did another test for the malaria and said it’s still 1+ that it could be from the malaria. I took another malaria tablet again and the cold stopped. The fast heart rate scares me. It got up to 220 the other day and I wasn’t even doing any exercise. The doctor said it was anxiety and gave me another medication because I was finding it hard to sleep at night. I took it just once and stopped because it was adding to my dizziness and fatigue.

I have gone to see a cardiologist as well and done all the ultrasound scan, ct scan and Eco and they said my heart is healthy and fine. Went to GI as well and she said it could be Gerd and gave me antacid as well. They keep telling me that I’m fine or would be fine when I know my body is not okay. I think the only thing left is endoscopy. I did that in 2016 when I had almost the same issue and they said it was helicobacter pylori induced chronic gastritis. I have never been this sick neither have I taken so many medication like this before. The pain is just crazy. From the middle of my chest under the breast bone to the right side of my stomach and sometimes it comes with headache or would I say migraine.

They said it’s ulcer but how can ulcer affect me so badly like this. I sleep with ac but not so cold and I hardly drink cold water. I did the test for pneumonia with chest x-ray and they ruled it out. Right now , from the last test I did, they said my uric acid is high, potassium is low, albumin high and total protein is high and they gave me some medication to take for one month. I’m praying to God everyday to heal me because this doctors would finish me with medication! Still fighting with lack of appetite, heartburn, funny taste in my mouth and I have lost so much weight. From 89kg to 82kg! Drop me your digit if possible!

I'm having exactly what you are experiencing now thou mine is constant stooling after eating and weight loss. Dr said it Diarrhea, she didn't prescribed drugs for me. instead she asked me to go an run Tryiod scan and see an Encrimi ologist. Before now, I have done some scan like ECG, TFT, Urinalysis etc.

Bro how did your test results come out with the ECG and urinalysis? My urinalysis came out normal but I haven’t done ECG I believe there is nothing wrong with my heart,
And yeah I just started treatments this evening.. They put me on ciprotab IV drips for Typhoid so far then metronidazole for infection as regards intestinal problems and infections
And some few drugs too, I’d complete the list for you when I get home.. The doc also gave me Some ulcer drugs too e.g Omeprazole.

Typhoid is really a draining sickness Mine is really stubborn so I need to flush every single of it out of my system, I have intermittent appetite too bro. I have done all except urinalysis, LFT, and Thyroid function.

Take it one step at a time. First thing is to make sure your blood pressure is normalized. If it requires u being on antihypertensives, know that it is for life.
You need to stop worrying. U might be passing through stress at work, relationship, emotional etc. You might need to see a therapist for your mental health. You need to take a chill pill, if possible go on a vacation to somewhere serene and natural. Your head needs to get cleared. Then u must exercise, i can't overemphasize the importance of exercise (dopamine effects). Avoid junk foods. Eat clean. Take more whole foods, fruits and vegetables. Drink more water and stay hydrated.

Remember, this is not the END but only a BEND.

Currently admitted now for Bp they put me on normal saline this is the last time I’m running any tests but they want to do a lot of screening like EKG, EUCR, X rays, etc to be sure. After this I’m done I just don’t know what the problem is

Hello bro good morning I checked my BP yesterday and it was good � 120 122 respectively and heart rate was 80 twice but I can still feel my heartbeat tho but I feel perfectly normal

Plenty sleep (which is ironical because that's what you were trying to avoid in the first place). Then I absolutely stayed off caffeine until I graduated. Also drank lots of water.

The palpitations stayed on for about a month before waning off gradually.

Ok brother mine has been here for about 3weeks now and I’m still watching though, the palpitations are so intense sometimes, other times I can’t feel it. About two doctors now have ran tests maybe there’s something else causing it but still not found anything,. Kind of bothered don’t know what to do. I guess yours was just palpitations and your blood pressure was normal, my blood pressure fluctuates between 140 and 150

Most Nigerians Doctors are quick to prescribe medications for high BP without evaluating other secondarily factors and even the sides effects of these drugs. Do not be afraid ... If you find a good doctor and also make some life style changes, you will overcome it

I’ve done Renal scan and Eucr everything’s good, done Cholesterol good, done H-pylori good although the doctor said I might still have it even though they didn’t find it in my test cuz when I’m hungry I have sharp pain at the top left side but it has stopped now after taking antacids for just like 4 days, then the only test I haven’t done now is thyroid, do you think I can do that test on my own without the doctor’s recommendation because none of the two doctors so far have recommended that, just mostly kidney checks and my kidneys are ok.

During my undergrad days, we used to go for all night jacking, a.k.a TDB.

To ward off the sleep, a friend introduced me to one candy they called Kona café. A coffee-flavoured sweet. I'd buy about five of them and consume them as I read through the night. However, it wasn't long before my body got used to that and the sweets were no longer effective in preventing me from sleeping.

I needed something stronger and switched to taking hot cocoa with coffee to battle sleep. Of course that didn't last for long. I remember one funny incident that happened one night. I was still in the hostel and took the usual hot drink. I just lay in bed reading and within the next 30 minutes, I'd already fallen asleep.

Was so frustrating for me that I decided to forgo milk and just mix Nescafé in cold water, then gulp down the bitter stuff. I did this for about 2 weeks, until I went full blown hardcore.

I'd just open the tin of Nescafé, scoop 3 teaspoons and dump them in my mouth raw. Chew on it and then wash it down with a sachet of cold water. Coffee when hot, has that pleasant, burnt aroma. But when cold, it gives off this evil-tasting, bitter-sour taste. This was what I used to make myself go through whenever I chewed the raw stuff. My rationale was that the more bitter it tasted, the longer I could remain awake. So this became my last resort in remaining awake all-night and reading till daybreak. I knew it was taking its toll on me, because I'd suddenly develop sweating spells, my body would go clammy and my heart developed irregular beating patterns. I swear, there were times when I'd be walking and suddenly discover that my heart had skipped beats for a few seconds.

I was managing all these until one day while writing in class, everywhere just suddenly bstarted spinning and I couldn't even see my hand or the book I was writing on. I was sitting down mind you. First thing that passed through my mind then was: How can one get so dizzy while sitting down? I couldn't even sit. Had to leave the class and look for a place to lie down until the dizziness stopped. It wasn't just the dizziness, but I would get very weak, my fingers and toes would get cold and I'd be seeing colours before my eyes.

Throughout that day, I didn't know what might have caused the sudden dizzy spells. It was much later that I began to suspect that caffeine consumption might have been the culprit of my predicament. I immediately dropped the habit and threw away the remaining tin of coffee. Needless to say that I continued to suffer the dizzy spells and heart palpitations for roughly an additional 5 months until they gradually wore off. I'm pretty sure I came close to dying or having a heart attack, with that first dizzy episode.

These days I only use coffee sparingly, when I wish to enjoy the flavour with my cocoa drink. Even at that I still get to suffer the effect hours later in the form of cold sweats, sourness at the back of my throat and shaky hands. But wetin man go do?

I sometimes marvel when I hear the quantity of coffee Americans get to consume each and everyday.

Can ulcer make you lose appetite and make you lose weight also?

My girlfriend told me a guy is toasting her and he’s always calling her, trying to get her gifts but she refuses but she always tells me that her friends are saying she should date him but she told them no that she wants to be with me. When we were together this past weekend he was calling her in my presence and she put her phone on airplane mode.
