I ACTUALLY QUOTED YOU IN ERROR embarassed I just realised now!

NO, that does not fix IPPIS issue. I am just trying to explain the concept of Visiting and Sabbatical, as it seems to be misunderstood!
I am in possession of some documents sent by AGF office, through NUC to the University VCs, I will soon upload it here!

Please do it would help in enlightening us all.

it is cheaper for FG and our Universities to make use of Visiting and Sabbatical than to employ full time staff! I know this surprises you.
Reason: if you're on visiting you can never be given full salary where you are visiting: I am not very sure but I think it's like 50% or something like that.
Sabbatical is like once in five years for Senior Lecturers upward, most Universities prefer to have Professors on both Sabbatical and Visiting.
No University will accept you for visiting if you are below Senior Lecturer.

How does this fix the IPPIS saga?

Taking two to three jobs means the vacancy openings of many MSc and PhD slots are shut.
These creates unemployment and very poor quality of graduates.

If a lecturer sticks to one job, they will have sufficient time to teach instead of the normal practice of skipping classes till the the last day where they give you photocopies.

Also, there will be employment of top PhD and MSc holders

God bless you, I was wondering if that guy understood the high rate of unemployment in Nigeria. Who told him quality lecturers are scarce?

There are lots of qualified and smart guys out there who can augment.

One man doing 3 jobs when over 30million Nigerians are jobless.

Common guys let us be reasonable about this quest.

Nigerian government is never transparent in anything and ASUU does not want to fall into one chance arrangement (my guess).
If ASUU decide to opt-in for a trial and signed that if not pleased they will opt-out. The question now will be, who will opt them out? Of course, government will have to do that, but will government do that? The answer to this is clearly, NO. The result then will be STRIKE! So, ASUU thinks, instead of striking latter why not just strike now and resolve the problem once and for all.
Clearly, there is corruption in University system and ASUU itself is aware of this but IPPIS can never solve the corruption problem in the University system, government need to stand up and hold people responsible for their actions.

Great point. But now I am more confused, you think going on strike during a pandemic is great timing?

No Sir, it is not; because the FG can use the pandemic as an excuse to delay payment.

Take what they are offering now, until the pandemic stops then go back to the negotiations table.

I only feel sorry for the millions of folks that have to starve because both parties have refused to find a simple middle ground.

I have a simple framework that can help both parties address the problem. It's called trial and transparency.

Stories, this government can not be trusted. It might take years to rectify such should anything goes wrong

An opt-out clause has very little to do with the Government, it means ASUU can pull out of the deal, if it fails. So ASUU has the option of going back on strike if it fails, whether FG likes it or not. That way FG ensures, the clause doesn't fail.

Guys! If my idea no good, Una fit come up with ideas too, the importance is teaching these men in the system how to resolve issues instead of allowing it linger and used for political attacks.

If your president can not honour court judgment, is it signed agreement he would?

Perhaps you don't get me, ASUU still has an opt-out clause if the IPPIS system fails. But for now the point is millions of families depend on these salaries to survive during the pandemic.

Bros, you can never trust Nigerian government o. For your information, some newly employed academic staff who were employed just before the strike and who, innocently, submitted their BVN as part of their documentations are now being paid on IPPIS(they never registered on IPPIS)! And this is one of the reasons that ASUU is saying never to the release of BVN.

I see your point but there are ways to resolve this kind of issues. A legal agreement signed by both parties, FG makes the IPPIS transparent to avoid any sort of silly deduction, hidden charges and ASUU tries if for a few month to see how it works, with an opt out clause if the system fails; It is important that ghost workers in the system should be checked. Part of the agreement should be that within 3months of the trial phase IPPIS should be adopted by all FG ministry and sectors, if not ASUU has the right to opt-out.

Even Brexit is not this confusing, as Nigerians we use silly and personal intentions to go into negotiations. Do you have any idea how many lecturers are hungry during this pandemic times. In facts, think of a household where the family's bread winner is a lecturer or both the father and mother are lecturers under the umbrella of ASUU.

I know most citizens think we are cursed to be part of this country, but the honest truth is that our leaders will be caused for always making life difficult for citizens. Every aspect of a Nigerian comes with making tough decisions to survive because our silly leaders play cheap politics with everything that concerns us.

Like millions of Nigerians, I have been a keen follower of the FG and ASUU saga. Strangely it's been difficult to tell who the actor and boss (Naija diction) is.

Interestingly, the FG has assured the ever striking ASUU of their March and April salaries and this time they gave the simplest of conditions. "Provide your BVN". Most shocking to us the viewers of this movie; ASUU who has been sounding broke, refused the FG's offer.

Now my question to ASUU: What's the big deal in providing a simple Bank Verification Number to get your salary. Or are you programmed to say 'no' to ever request tagged Federal Government? Or are you hiding something?

Now my question to FG: Why do you need the BVN from ASUU, what do we have banks for, a simple request to all VC to give you names and bank account of their staff and a simple request to CBN to trace those account numbers to the BVN would solve this problem. We all gave our data to the banks during BVN registration, so the bank has our data. You shouldn't be asking ASUU for it. Give me an excel sheet, contacts to all banks and VCs in Nigeria and I will spool out all the BVNs you need to pay the damn salary. ASUU might think FG is asking for Birth Virus Number.

Assumption: Both ASUU and the guys calling shot at FG are too old to survive in a potentially digital driven economy so they use ignoramus as an excuses to mess the education system in Nigeria up.

Oh boy you wicked ooo! Did you have to add 'very' to the 'wrong'.

We are all here to learn, please guide us on the correct answer.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Who Can Answer This Amazon Interview Question! by unclebuddy(m): 4:26am On Apr 24, 2020
My response would be 70m apart

Analysis:

First of all you have an imaginary rectangle shape, with lenght 50m and the breadth is unknown.

The breadth = The space between the poles.

But the breadth is separated by a slacked cable. If the cable was at full stretch, the breadth could easily have been 80m. But it has an excess (slack region) which is directly proportional to the length between the base of the rectangle and the curve tip of the cable= 10m

So I would say the breadth or space between the pole= 80m - 10m = 70m.

My view though.

Education / Its Is Your Responsibility To Help Children Around You Read. by unclebuddy(m): 12:51pm On Jul 18, 2019
Watch the video via this link:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IeAGupe-UoE

Uncle Buddy advises every adult in Nigeria to impact on a child in positive ways, in this context his points out that the best book you can give to a child is helping them with values that will make them grow up to be assets to their country; and one of those gifts is the Art of Reading.

If you grew up in places where people around you could not read, you would understand that the inability to read can kill the expression of anyone and make them sadist as they would keep to themselves to avoid being embarrassed and only move in circles where they will not be asked to read or speak in public.

This has killed the sparks in a lot of people and buried their dreams of being stars and in most cases forced them into wrong groups. We do not wish this for children around us; but the truth is that if we don't help these stars of tomorrow in starting to read at early stages of their lives, they will struggle to build the culture/habit of reading and this may lead to more depressed people in our society.

Get a book for a child today and they will not forget you tomorrow.

Sports / AFCON: See What Uncle Buddy Told Dangote And Sanwo-olu by unclebuddy(m): 7:58am On Jul 12, 2019
There has been conversations around the recent splash of money on the Super Eagles to inspire them to score more goals at the ongoing AFCON competition.

https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCeJpRBKLvzijnJLZ677g-RQ

While most people think its commendable, other Nigerians think such money can be put to good use, like fixing immediate problems that Nigeria and Nigerians have.

In a recent chat Uncle Buddy frowned at such lavish gifts, saying that such money would distract the already motivated team, Uncle Buddy says if such money can be invested in platforms like education, electricity, good roads and providing jobs for Nigerians it would still motivate the Super Eagles, as they would be playing for a country that has hope, potentials and promising citizens.

Sanwo-Olu looks like a promising Governor, but it is too early to be a Santa when most roads are in wreck in Lagos and jobs are unavailable for parents to fend for their children.

Nigeria, let's get our priorities right. This country has the values and potentials to be great but if the rich (Dangote) keeps investing on already made platforms instead of building new opportunities then we as a Nation are Doomed!

Please subscribe to Buddy TV on YouTube for more conversations around Uncle Buddy, who with no support from Government and brands uses his fund to create a smile on the Nigerian child, if that is not worth your time then I don't know what will be.

God bless Uncle Buddy, God bless the Nigerian Child.

Celebrities / America Has Spider Man, Nigeria Has Uncle Buddy by unclebuddy(m): 1:50pm On Jul 05, 2019
It’s a battle between moral and immoral, and sadly immoral seems to be winning. Its easy to become popular from being controversial and flaunt expensive lifestyle online. But its hard to get the same attention when you flaunt a good heart.
Uncle Buddy is part of the moral team, he believes we can create a planet where its easy to put a smile on people’s face and make them feel loved.

Moral has to win in this battle, think of the defect it will have on our children if immoral practices become the law. It is already having a bad impact on us, as people are becoming more depressed to the point of taking their own lives.

Uncle Buddy wants a better world especially for our future leaders, the children. He wants them to be creative, expressive and African.
Little wonder his story books about children have sold over 10,000 copies worldwide and have made the child hopeful again.
Uncle Buddy believes that if we spend more time focusing on building a better world for ourselves and our children; we can get the attention of the government and together both government and citizens can build a more moral society.

Sadly brands have not been helpful in this battle as they continue to invest on platforms that trend rather than platforms with value to our society. Take for instance brands investing millions of Naira in BBNaija but rewarding a first class student with a big cheque of N25,000. Its obvious that brands have began to shy away to platforms that encourage education, culture and invest more platform that encourage social media gossip and nightlife.

Moral can be profitable, moral can be trendy and moral can be fun, but the foundation need to be built to make it sustainable.
BBNaija is a great show but we believe education and culture can be greater; if we collectively support them and give the time to grow.
Let’s support Uncle Buddy, let’s support morals.

Please share to people and help moral win this war.
