For those yet to get Appointment, pls do not lose hope. It tooke me two years. Started my visa process late 2019. Booked for A.D three good times, before the 4th one clicked. GOD be praised!

Things to note to make your own process fast and easy;

1. Go for schools that permit online learning, take your classes and write your exams (just 1 semester is okay). Then send the proof to the consulate (there's a special email for that. I don't have it). Just scroll back to all the previous chats, you'll find the email. You'll get A.D instantly if you do this.

2. Apply for a FREE school. There are so many FREE schools in Germany. Take your time. Paying tuition with your blocked account will drain you leaving you eventually stranded. Don't try it.

3. Try to learn German to B1/B2, during your waiting period. Even if your course is in English, still learn German. The job opportunities are more favourable to those that can speak deutch.

4. Above all these, put GOD first. Let GOD know that He's involved. Pray, commit it all to Him because without GOD, all your efforts and time waited, could all end up being void. GOD first!!!

5. Wishing you all the best...With love, from Deutschland

So I just got appointment for category B.. after applying for the third time.. my issue is that the blocked account money is no longer ready now . And the interview date is 28th of this month .. should I cancel or go like that
You can tell them it's not yet ready or you've transferred and it's yet to reflect. They'll give you a new interview date. Most likely 1 month gap after your original interview date

Is it possible to have a successful Visa process even when your admission is currently deferred. Note i tried to re-enrol, but the school said i should wait until may. anyone with any idea please..

Enrollment is not mandatory if the school enrollment date hasn't passed. Just ask the school for a new Admission Letter first. That's the Koko

I hope this helps someone

Timeline

Mar 31 - I cancelled my previous booking

Apr 1st (0:05) - resubmitted for Category B

Same first week of April - requested for a new admission letter from school since I deregistered the previous semester due to lack of concentration from online studies and woeful exam (p:s I don't like bad records)

Second week of April - got new admission letter for winter 2021

April to September - I kept hoping for appointment

September 15 - Enrollment for new semester started, but I ignored

October 8 - Miracle happened I received mail from the embassy for appointment

October 9 - I cancelled my vacation trip to Tanzania because I won't be back on the appointment date given by the consulate (devil wanted to double cross me but God no gree)

October 9 - I sent mail to school I wanted to pay for enrollment because I sincerely gave up on the quest. The school told me deadline was October 14

October 10 - I sent money

October 14 - Money hasn't been confirmed (see devils at work)

October 14 - I started sending mail and copied both necessary and unnecessary people from my school. Ema je ki owo jona meaning don't let my money burn.

October 15 - I was given a favourable response that the deadline won't affect me since I told them I have made the payment (yet my mind wasn't at rest)

October 18/20 - Enrollment letter was issued

Nov 5 - Appointment date (something unusual happened; The interviewer told me my block account wasn't fully funded)

Ahhhhhhhhhhh I felt like crying. Although I funded 10600 euros which was more than the stipulated amount because I had a premonition of something like this. Yet I was given a shocker...let me explain what happened!

After registering my fintiba account in 2019 (so you now know I have been on this for 2 years) the embassy initial started with 8600+ euros then moved it up to 9600+ then again 10233 I guess. My fintiba block account read 10233 as the blocking contract which I wasn't even aware it has increased to 10382 euros (if I am correct)

After the interview the BO told me to quickly make the necessary changes within 7 days (she didn't believe I funded fully)... On leaving the Consulate I switched my phone on and started browsing to confirm where the error was, I made the required changes to the blocking contract and immediately sent a mail to the consulate explaining what happened.

Note: I won't talk about my issue with Mr Paulinus...That man ehn!!!

Nov 16 - The embassy sent a mail I should forward my updated blocking contract which I did almost immediately

Another round of silent days I kept calling once every two weeks

December 16 - Approval Mail came and request to send my passport and travel insurance. I forwarded it same day through FedEx

No response again ahhhhhhhhh this people

December 23 - Got a call while eating amala from a courier man, I initially thought it was jumia ....lol but when he said from Ger....man I stood up immediately.

I received my Visa and my original documents

December 27 - I left Nigeria via Lufthansa (I don't want to hear say lockdown hook me for Naija)

December 28 - I arrived Deutschland

All Glory To God

Although it took two years but it eventually worth the wait.

In addition: while looking for alternatives I got:
2 Admissions in US (One with Tuition Waiver)
4 Admissions in UK
Sat for IELTS within one week of preparation ( Scores 7.5)

Can somebody shout hallelujah!!!

Thunderous Hallelujah my brother. I tap into this. Amen

Guys, No visum testimonies in a while. what is happening?

Let us also have some faith for AD, I got a date for 12/12/2021 two weeks ago but i cancelled for obvious reasons.
I applied under CatB on the 3rd of April though I've been on this journey for a while.
You shouldn't have cancelled. Whatever issue you might be facing, you can always explain to them when you go for your interview.

Go to sterling bank head office in marina. You need to open an account with them and have about 5.2M. They would require your fintiba account showing the sum in euros, your admission letter and a photocopy of your passport data page. Also you would need to write a formal letter instructing them to debit your account. You don't need to use transfer mate because it has a deadline of 48hrs and the fx price changes. You can pay directly to your fintiba account in form A via sterling or keystone using study fee for purpose of payment. It takes 2-3 working days.

Did you use this Same sterling bank in marina?
Can you please send me your email or WhatsApp number, let's talk directly. Please

Pls who here has done blocked account in any Lagos bank? I want to use that exact branch.

I followed all the instructions given in this thread and used fintiba transfermate

Other branches keep saying form A is for school fees not upkeep or blocked account. That if they must process blocked account, they can't process more than 4,000$ for fcmb, first bank 10,000$. Sterling bank said they can't process for new account if I want to open account with them.

Please, help my appointment is in 2 days. Tell me the exact Lagos branch you used, let me go there

Hey guys. Just received an invitation but my admission has expired. What do you suggest I do?
Same here. Go with the outdated admission like that. My school said I'll definitely receive another admission by December. You can find out the next admission date for your own school and explain to the consulate like that

Oh thank you very much, I was really considering going to Ghana. But will Ghana take me serious being that I am not a citizen or resident?
Does anyone know someone who has done this successfully?

I think a schengen country would be best since Germany is also a Schengen country. You can try Norway. I haven't done it before though.

You're not really serious. grin grin
If you don't drop your documents-originals and photocopies, how would they verify them and process your visa?
Besides, you're going to go home with your passport after the interview.
You only submit it when your visa is approved.
Bro, I sent you a mail yesterday. Please check

Visa Interview Transcript
Date of Interview 24th August, 2021
Category A.
Date of Approval Mail: 26th August, 2021.

First, I must state that this is more like a testimony (of course I will give a detailed interview questions and answers as I can still remember) to the GLORY OF JESUS because it is very clear that I'm not more qualified than anyone here or there. Jesus showed me mercy and made my little work fruitful.

Yes...now, to the transcript proper...

I arrived the embassy quite early though my interview date was 9AM. I think that helped as I used that time to spend 8k for photocopy. Foolish me.. lol. Didn't check well to see that every document must be in TWO SET except where otherwise stated.

At the embassy, I met a guy I supposed is an Erasmus Mundus scholar. We waited together but then he first entered the ROOM 4 for the interview. And in about 20mins later he came out. It was now my turn to face the VO.

VO: Why are you here?
Me: visa application interview
VO: which category?
Me: Category A
VO: what qualified you for this category?
Me: scholarship
VO: pass me your award letter, passport and certificate.
Me: I did. (She checked it and asked, "how much is it?" I answered and she highlighted that part of the award letter. Then she went out to go and confirm it, I guess, and returned in few minutes).
VO: did you block your account?
Me: yes, I blocked the deficit.
VO: pass it on to me. (She did some checking and balancing and confirmed that everything was in order financially.
VO: lemme have your visa application fee
Me: I passed it.
VO: I will take your finger prints now
Me: okay (in my mind...wow na so ein dey be ?lol)

(She took every information and filled into the computer before here)

After about 15mins,

VO: let's now start the interview... please be quick in answering the questions she warned.
Me: eweeeeh.....so interview never start self...kaii
VO: tell me what you know about Germany politically?
Me: answered (please the answers are easily found online....I can share my summary note I prepared for common facts about Germany with you. Dont wanna make this so long. Thank you for your understanding)
VO:. What are going to study?
Me: answered
VO: why not Nigeria, US or Canada? Why did you choose Germany?
Me: answered
VO: What did you do in your bachelor's research thesis?
Me: answered.

(VO got angry saying "why are you saying this research topic like I understand what you're saying...so fast? .....me: in my mind, but you called for it. VO continued... please spell!)

Me: I spelt the field related terms for her.

VO: what's your occupation?
Me: I teach chemistry
VO: where?
Me: I mentioned the name of the secondary school.

(VO paused and then I saw a paper being printed out from her computer. She passed the paper to me. Men and brethren.. behold it was 3 theory Chemistry Questions oo)

I was like, science question in an interview? Never expected that at all. But then to the glory of God, I have an idea in the all 3 three questions, even though I was later going to realize that I answered one wrongly)

Me: solved quickly and passed it on to her
VO: with such a disappointing look on her face, "is this the best you can give me?
Me: I can still add something. Collected it and add more info to number 3 question and gave back to her.

VO: alright. How much is your salary?
Me: 43K
VO: What?! What can that do for you? Are you married.
Me: no, single
VO: can you even marry with such amount?
Me: actually, most private schools pay that low
VO: what about public schools. How much do they pay?
Me: for my level, something around 60k
VO: okay.(she then passed my passport)
Me: my heart wasn't at rest seeing my passport coming back to me. I believed they'd retain it, afterall I'm a scholar lol )
Me: ma, am I going with my passport?
VO: yes. Let's see. Be checking your email...she mentioned my email to get a confirmation.
Me: Okay. Thank you.
....................

That was how my interview went. I got my AM in TWO days and sent back my passport for stamping.

My recommendation: God can actually do anything for you. Just keep believing as you work. If you can apply for scholarships, please do. It's a great Plus. I was in Cat B last year. With the scholarship, I booked for interview on 11th August at 17.00 and got date that same day at 18.00.

Also, spread your net. I did the same. I had even forgotten about Germany but then saw the scholarship and applied and it came through.

I am now in Deutschland Friends. Everyone must succeed brothers and sisters. It just won't happ at the same time. So while we wait for our goodnesws, let's keep clapping for others. Shalom

Your testimony is heart warming and highly encouraging. I love it. I'm happy for you. Congrats. If only we can all endeavour to also put GOD first. Weldon bro.

Pls share me the address of the bank you used for your block account. Urgently needed. Please

Go to sterling Bank and tell them it is for blocked account. If the staff doesn't understand tell them to call their hq in Lagos to confirm. Tell them your friends have done it successfully with Sterling Bank.

I did mine on Monday(this week) and the payment was debited on Tuesday morning. In short, Fintiba gave me my blocking details on Thursday. It was so fast, e shock me sef.

Please use Sterling Bank. I had to open a new account with them but it was worth it.

Pls drop the address of the sterling bank branch you used. I'm also facing the same problem. Or can you pls send your email to discuss better. Please.

Category-B

Booked appointment-1st April 2021 by 12:01am

Appointment invitation e-mail-8th July 2021

Appointment date-6th August 2021

Approval e-mail-5th October 2021

Visum-15th October 2021

My own visa processing lingered because i did the summer semester online in Nigeria,so the consulate requested for proofs in the form of-
(i.)an up to date enrollment certificate/letter from my school, showing that my enrollment is still active.
(ii.)transcription of records ie to show what i've actively done in my course of study from the day of enrollment/the day lectures started. That is,lecture notes, tests, experiments, assignments,if possible exams.

I forwarded all these to them as pdf on the 14th of August after they requested them on the 9th of August, setting 30th of August as the deadline for submission.

On 3rd September i received an e-mail from them saying that they've not received any document(i guess the mistake was from me because i didn't follow the replying sequence of the e-mails sent by the consulate, which have my visa code/number already.I sent the e-mail as a fresh one without the code. So,it hard for them to know it was me) and i was given 7th of September as the last deadline to do so.

That same 3rd September,i forwarded the soft copies to them through the e-mails that have my visa code/number and hard copies at the consulate on the 6th of September.

And it dawned on me that it was that 6th of September that the processing of my visa application really started after having my interview over a month and hoping for an approval e-mail.

My advice-please,if your school is going online and you couldn't secure a visa that semester, join them and keep your evidences, because your successful visa application depends on the proofs that you really participated. The German consulate isn't joking about this.Infact if you did a semester online in Nigeria, include those aforementioned documents with others and submit them on your interview day to avoid delay in the processing of your visa.

All the best!
See you in Germany!!
