solufemiwa: You must be joking and some people will take this your joke serious oo..
Hi Solufemiwa, sorry if you misunderstood my comment. This matter has been handled in some previous pages here. First of all, there are two ways you can request your Ecctis (Naric) statement: A. Hard copy or B. e-Statement (which is the main bone of contention in this discussion). A. - has an indefinite validity (and costs more) while B. - has a validity period of only 3 months (but costs less). And I went ahead to explain in my previous comment why this is so - that the e-Statement has a secure electronic chip in it, which is like an electronic signature, that is used to verify it. This e-Statement is made in such a way that the electronic signature remains valid for only 3 months, after which you have to request a new e-Statement and re-download to use again. I have attached here a screenshot of my conversation with Ecctis support team sometime last year regarding this e-Statement issue. I hope this is clearer. However, you can contact Ecctis via your message portal on your dashboard so that they can explain it better to you. Please always rely on information got directly from the organization concerned, not from external sources online. Cheers https://ecctis.com/Individuals/Correspondence.aspx 1 Share |

Another question because i just found out the dependant of this person i'm working with has lived in the UK for a one year masters like 7 years ago.
I know UKVI ask both main applicant and dependent for police report from nigeria...
.my question is will the dependent need to produce criminal record from the both the uk and nigeria??
Hunee Mrmoney90 Hi again, AdvanceDNA. PCC is only required for any overseas countries lived for 12 months or more outside of the UK.The UKVI obviously have your records of stay in the UK, but can't obtain the ones for overseas countries by themselves. Attached here are the link to the information above and a screenshot from the UKVI website. Cheers! https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/criminal-records-checks-for-overseas-applicants |

Obianne: Good morning. Please I wish my questions can be answered this time around. Please what exactly is NARIC verifying? Is it English proficiency or that you actually did your BSc. Make Una no vex. I don't really understand and how much is it? Is it certain that it can replace IELTS? Thank you Hi Obianne, the information on the Ecctis (Naric) website says it's used to '...demonstrate the level of your qualification and your English proficiency for a UK visa application.''The Visas and Nationality services support you if you need to evidence the level of your degree and/or your English language proficiency for the UK Home Office.'
1. [i]'We compare your university (Higher Education) degree(s) to the standard of Bachelor, Master’s or PhD in the UK. This is the Academic Qualification Level Statement (AQUALS).''And, if your degree was not studied in a majority English-speaking country, we also confirm the level of your English language proficiency based on your qualification and according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). This is the English Language Proficiency Statement (ELPS).'I hope it's clearer now. |

solufemiwa: It can be save to external drive or email for future references.
Hi Solufemiwa, according to the information on the Ecctis website, the e-Statement is valid for only 3 months. This is because it has a secure chip embedded on it that expires after 3 months. |

Hello, after getting the Alison caregiving diploma, what site did you use in searching for jobs? I have completed mine. I have been applying for jobs on indeed.com for over 3weeks now and they're refusing me a space on the excuse that I have no right to work in the UK for now.
Hi Cleo18, have you tried NHS Jobs website as suggested on page 1 of this thread? Truthfully, you'd definitely need perseverance, diligence and determination to succeed on this route. All the best! |

ibirongbe: Morning, Pls how much will POF for dependant partner whose MA is on health and care worker be?
I checked on government.uk what I saw was 285pounds. The question is, will that 285pounds be in multiplicity of number of years on MA applicant visa or is it just 285 pounds only for the dependant partner as POF?
Kindly treat as urgent. Help a friend Thanks Hi Ibirongbe, they only need to pay that £285 once. POF for these two visa routes is not required in multiplicity of years of stay. Cheers. |

Question... If MA is on a five years work visa....and dependents wants to go join...is it a must they must apply for 5 years as well?? Can the dependents apply for 3years and leave the UK after expiration or even lesser than the 3years??
Mrmoney90 Uzland Hunee Hi AdvanceDNA, they can apply for whichever. And even if they choose to apply later than you did, the guideline on the UKVI website also says 'If their application is successful, their visa will end on the same date as yours.' Cheers. |

I used ecctis also and my school is unilag and they do not give transcript by hand. I sent ecctis a message about it and they gave me their email address where my school can send it to. They asked me to inform my school to quote my reference/enquiry number so it can be linked to my other documents that I uploaded myself. Then Ecctis themselves uploaded my transcript to my ecctis portal after my school had sent it to them. The email address is documents@ecctis.com Were you able to see/download the transcript from your portal after it was uploaded by Ecctis? |

But please you may wish to expunge the name of the company from your comment, only because the content of your comment may portray your about-to-be employer in a bad light, for the sake of their- and your own privacy. Please all those who've quoted his comment should do well to also expunge his new company name just like I've done above. Thanks.PS There's nothing wrong with sharing the names of care homes that may be willing to recruit overseas candidates, if you wish to, especially in a tough time as this when it's so hard to find one. 3 Likes |

Davidonkonsults: Visa alert.
Whew. This has been grueling so far.
Started the journey from student visa. At the point I was contemplating which university to pick and pay deposit, offer letter came with some conditions which included TB test. Apparently someone didn't clear tb test after COS so I needed to do the test before sponsorship certificate. Did it at ikeja.
Biometrics on 14th September. Abuja TLS. Priority. Decision on the 16th. Mail and BRP letter 20th. Collection mail 23rd Dhl delivered passport to me yesterday evening with my vignette. Waiting for dependents own which was standard application. The info here and the student visa thread is worth gold if you can read, jot or screenshot, research.
Ps. I don't know if it's just me. But suddenly to resign from my job here and just travel suddenly seems hard for me to do.
W W! Congratulations to you and your family, Davidonkonsults! Your Naija job must be paying you well for you to find it hard to resign. Just 'dash' it to someone who needs a job. LoL... 1 Like |

Passport pick up for both Main applicant and Dependant- 21 September.
This has taken 3 months. I was frustrated, made alot of paid calls and sent paid emails and even sent an official complaint, but it has ended in praise. God has been so faithful after the two refusals I got from Canada study permit applications and the crazy amount of money I lost in the Process ( I paid a canadian registered consultant 3000 dollars + huge bank charges). God came through, after all that stress, I have gotten my visas. I could have lost hope after losing all that money and going through the pain of refusal, it almost wrecked my marriage. But I kept pushing because I knew I deserved more, I knew I was meant for more. This is the story of A lawyer 13 years at the Bar who is transitioning into IT as a Business Analyst. It is the start of a new chapter. All I am trying to say is - don't give up on your dreams and when you fall, get up, dust your yourself off and try again. You only fail when you stop trying.

Uzland: This thread is dedicated to the new UK Skilled Worker visa (formerly Tier 2 visa), and Health and Care Worker visa routes. Please feel free to share ideas, information, links, etc and connect with like-minded people. Our goal is to see each other succeed in this pursuit and meet together at last in the UK.
I'll start with some basic information about each of the two visa routes and the official gov.uk links for guidance on how to start the process:
1. For every information about the UK Skilled Worker visa -> https://www.gov.uk/skilled-worker-visa
Overview of Skilled Worker visa: A Skilled Worker visa allows you to come to or stay in the UK to do an eligible job with an approved employer. This visa has replaced the Tier 2 (General) work visa.
Eligibility: To qualify for a Skilled Worker visa, you must: - work for a UK employer that’s been approved by the Home Office - have a ‘certificate of sponsorship’ from your employer with information about the role you’ve been offered in the UK - do a job that’s on the list of eligible occupations - be paid a minimum salary - how much depends on the type of work you do
*The specific eligibility depends on your job -> https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/skilled-worker-visa-eligible-occupations
*Check if your job is on the list of Shortage Occupations for non-healthcare and non-education -> https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/skilled-worker-visa-shortage-occupations/skilled-worker-visa-shortage-occupations
*You must have a confirmed job offer before you apply for your visa.*
Knowledge of English: - You must be able to speak, read, write and understand English. You’ll usually need to prove your knowledge of English when you apply.
You can prove your knowledge of English by: - passing a Secure English Language Test (SELT) from an approved provider [NB: IELTS for UKVI, PTE for UKVI (Academic or General), not the regular IELTS or PTE, etc] - having a GCSE, A level, Scottish National Qualification level 4 or 5, Scottish Higher or Advanced Higher in English, gained through study at a UK school that you began when you were under 18 - having a degree-level academic qualification that was taught in English - if you studied abroad, you’ll need to apply through Ecctis (formerly UK NARIC) for confirmation that your qualification is equivalent to a UK bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or PhD. [Ecctis link: https://www.ecctis.com/visasandnationality
How long you can stay: - Your visa can last for up to 5 years before you need to extend it. You’ll need to apply to extend or update your visa when it expires or if you change jobs or employer.
If you want to stay longer in the UK: - You can apply to extend your visa as many times as you like as long as you still meet the eligibility requirements.
*After 5 years, you may be able to apply to settle permanently in the UK (also known as ‘indefinite leave to remain’). This gives you the right to live, work and study here for as long as you like, and apply for benefits if you’re eligible.
How to apply: You must apply online.
How you apply depends on whether you’re: - outside the UK and are coming to the UK - inside the UK and extending your current visa - inside the UK and switching from a different visa *If you want to change your job or employer, you must apply to update your visa.
*You can include your partner and children in your application to stay in the UK if they are eligible.
How long it takes: - You can apply for a visa up to 3 months before the day you are due to start work in the UK.
Getting a decision: Once you’ve applied online, proved your identity and provided your documents, you’ll usually get a decision on your visa within: - 3 weeks, if you’re outside the UK - 8 weeks, if you’re inside the UK *If you need to go to an appointment, you may be able to pay for a faster decision. How you do this depends on whether you’re outside the UK or inside the UK.
How much it costs: You, your partner or children will each need to: - pay the application fee (£625 for a standard 3-year visa, or £1,235 for a 5-year visa; but for shortage occupations - £479 for a 3-year visa, or £943 for a 5-year visa) - pay the healthcare surcharge fee for each year of your stay (£624 per annum) - prove you have enough personal savings (at least £1,270, unless you’re exempt)
What you can and cannot do You can: - work in an eligible job - take on additional work in certain circumstances - do voluntary work - study - bring your partner and children with you as your ‘dependants’, if they’re eligible - travel abroad and return to the UK - apply to settle permanently in the UK (also known as ‘indefinite leave to remain’) if you’ve lived in the UK for 5 years and meet the other eligibility requirements
You cannot: - apply for most benefits (public funds), or the State Pension - change jobs or employer unless you update your visa.
.............................................................................
2. For every information about the UK Health and Care Worker visa -> https://www.gov.uk/health-care-worker-visa
Overview of Health and Care Worker visa: The Health and Care Worker visa was created, sequel to Brexit, to encourage healthcare professionals from around the world to come to the UK to do an eligible job with the NHS, an NHS supplier or in adult social care. The visa opened to applications from 4 August 2020, and forms part of the UK’s new immigration system.
*For applicants, the benefits of the new Health and Care Worker visa include fast-tracked entry to the UK, together with reduced visa fees and exemption from the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS). Processing duration is usually about 3 weeks.
Eligibility: To qualify for a Health and Care Worker visa, you must: - be a qualified doctor, nurse, health professional (e.g. dietitian, physiotherapist, dentist, etc) or adult social care professional - work in an eligible health or social care job - work for a UK employer that’s been approved by the Home Office - have a ‘certificate of sponsorship’ from your employer with information about the role you’ve been offered in the UK - be paid a minimum salary - how much depends on the type of work you do
*Check if your job is eligible -> https://www.gov.uk/health-care-worker-visa/your-job
*Check if your job is on the list of Shortage Occupations for healthcare and education -> https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/skilled-worker-visa-shortage-occupations-for-health-and-education/skilled-worker-visa-shortage-occupations-for-healthcare-and-education
*You must have a confirmed job offer before you apply for your visa.
Knowledge of English (same as in Skilled Worker visa): - You must be able to speak, read, write and understand English. You’ll usually need to prove your knowledge of English when you apply.
How long you can stay: - Your visa can last for up to 5 years before you need to extend it. You’ll need to apply to extend or update your visa when it expires or if you change jobs or employer.

How you apply depends on whether you’re: - outside the UK and are coming to the UK - inside the UK and extending your current visa - inside the UK and switching from a different visa. *If you want to change your job or employer, you must apply to update your visa.
*You can include your partner and children in your application to stay in the UK if they are eligible.
How long it takes: - You can apply for a visa up to 3 months before the day you are due to start work in the UK. This date is listed on your certificate of sponsorship.
Getting a decision: - Once you’ve applied online, proved your identity and provided your documents, you’ll usually get a decision on your visa within 3 weeks.
*If you need to go to an appointment, you may be able to pay for a faster decision. How you do this depends on whether you’re outside the UK or inside the UK.
How much it costs You, your partner or children will each need to: - pay the application fee (£247 for a 3-year visa, or £479 for a 5-year visa) - prove you have enough personal savings (at least £1,270, unless you’re exempt)
Healthcare surcharge: You - and your partner or children - will not have to pay the healthcare surcharge.

You can try some of the online learning platforms that have been suggested here by others such as Caredemy, Florence Academy, Alison, Reed, etc. Relevant courses include the Care Certificate (15 care standards) or other Health and Social Care diploma and certificate courses, which should be CPD-accredited. Florence Academy certificates are free, while most other platforms charge small amounts of money for certificates. Duration is self paced.
If you're looking to have practical care experience, then you may have to look for any of the following, convenient for you, and volunteer or work for a sufficient length of time: a good hospital, old people's home, home for the disabled, orphanage (for child and adolescent care experience), destitute home, etc. Whichever you go for, endeavour to get a proof of your work experience, be it a letter of attestation or recommendation, at the end of your volunteerism or work.

GENERAL NOTICE: Please there are differences between ECCTIS (formerly NARIC) and ENIC in purposes, requirements and prices.
ECCTIS (formerly NARIC) You can use this service to prove your English language proficiency (instead of IELTS for UKVI), and also show that your Nigerian/non-UK bachelor's, master's or PhD degree is equivalent to that obtained in the UK. For this, you need to upload your final certificate, transcripts, and an official letter from your university which states that your course was taught in English language. The price for Ecctis service is £140 + VAT (excluding delivery cost). On the Ecctis website: "The Visas and Nationality (English proficiency) services support you if you need to evidence the level of your degree and/or your English language proficiency for the UK Home Office." Link: https://www.ecctis.com/visasandnationality
ENIC If you already have a proof of English language (eg. IELTS for UKVI, Ecctis, etc) but, perhaps you still need to ONLY show equivalence of your Nigerian/non-UK qualification (WASSCE/NECO/GCE and/or bachelor's degree, etc) to that obtained in the UK, without English language proficiency, then what you should go for is ENIC Statement of Comparability. For this, you only need to upload your final certificates and transcripts, and the price is £49.50 + VAT (excluding delivery cost). On the ENIC website: "Statement Of Comparability: A general purpose statement of qualification comparability. This service is for you if you need to evidence the level of your overseas qualification for employment, study, professional registration or another reason." Cc: justwise Cc: DisGuy HAPPY ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF THIS THREAD!✨❤️✨This thread was started one year and two days ago on 11/09/2021.
About a year ago, there was no thread specifically dedicated to these two unique UK visa routes. Consequently, the vision of this thread was borne - to provide an avenue for you and for me to help each other achieve our common dream of a better tomorrow.
Over this past year, we've witnessed a lot of both good and bad events - from the introduction of new policies to employer apathy towards overseas candidates, apparently.
Some of us have succeeded and moved on; others peep in anonymously and leave, while just a few, even though they've succeeded, still take the time to check up on everyone here and drop helpful tips for us all. You and I may not realize what that little piece of advice, information or caution that we drop here means in the life of the next person.
I ❤️celebrate with all who've succeeded in reaching their desired destination on this journey. And those who're yet to succeed, I join my faith with yours hopeful that you shall be the next to be celebrated...✨❤️✨ 19 Likes 2 Shares |
