I think most just go into this thing like it's a POS thingy or selling recharge cards.
Some arrive, take pulse measurements they can't.
Very few understand their roles, or what would be their roles.
I run interviews for agencies that surfs staff for NHS, healthcare assistant, carers and other medical related professions. Would be shocking at the response you get from some candidates who think having 30 courses completed is enough to land them a Job with COS.
The other day I asked an applicant why your sudden change in your career, you are degree holder in Maths?
The person said I have always been a carer.
Right, what do you mean you have always been a carer if you state you only have 3years of experience? How has 3years become an always thing?
The person went i have estate agency business with my husband.
I said to the applicant wait a minute,
You have just 3years of experience, a degree holder in maths, again why sudden change in career?
Person went i was carer for my granddad, i this in church, I this in Mosque, I this in shrine.
Like why spoil my day when you can not even defend career objectives you must have written on your CV and cover letter.
Then once you says unfortunately, they go please please offer me a chance, like what chance when you can't convince that you know what you are about to go into?

There are many routes, countries, yet most just want easy route easy route, which they end up being asked to pay millions for..

Hi Cletz991, I'm not certain. However, according to HCPC you need copious laboratory experience to be able to register with them as a Clinical Scientist. Cheers.

Hello Tunjyalabi87, you can search about how to practise in her profession in the UK on Google. Perhaps she'll even need to register first with a UK regulatory council.
That said, I think Pharmacology may fall under professions classified as 'Biological scientists and biochemists', with the ONS/SOC 2112. If this is so, then it's eligible for both SW and HACW visas but only appears on the Shortage Occupations list for SW visa.
She may also wish to apply for other roles similar to hers (especially within NHS Trusts), if she finds it difficult to get hers particularly. Good luck to her.

Update on my LPTC experience; I found out about them on this thread back in January I think, did my due diligence and liked what they were offering -
1. ATHE Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care
2. Care Certificate
3. International First aid

I went to their branch office in Benin for further enquiry, met a staff who told me that their previous awarding body was Highfield and they recently switched to ATHE. I asked why the change in awarding body and he mentioned something about delay issues. I went further to ask him how the course is assessed, he said that there’s no exam, just assessments that will be checked if it’s up to standard, for plagiarism and that assessments can always be redone until it fulfills the necessary criteria set in place.

With this in mind, I decided to enroll with them, paid the full amount(350k) upon enrollment and I started the course in February. We started with the care standards and duly got the care certificate. Finished the whole ATHE course and first aid in May and submitted all assessments(6) same month before I went on 150hrs clinical placement. Of all 6 assessments I submitted, I only got feedback for 2 and it was about plagiarism. I redid them and submitted.

Fast forward to July, I got a mail saying that majority of learners won’t be able to achieve the ATHE level 3 diploma due to their assessments not meeting the standard that at this point we have two options. Option 1; transfer of assessments and everything to another awarding body with easier criteria and is less strict - UKQUALS. No need to redo assessments if all 6 for ATHE have been submitted.
Option 2; continue with ATHE and after 3 failure feedback on plagiarism or assessments not meeting standard, you get withdrawn from the course and as such no diploma certificate for you.

Immediately contacted some fellow learners if they had gotten the same mail, they all said yes. Called LPTC Benin office straight up, I mean where’s all this coming. This was not what you people told us before we enrolled, what changed? No reasonable response. Some days later, I got feedback on my other assessments and this time I was told some tasks weren’t up to standard. Na here I take realize say LPTC don play us big big. I didn’t just bother to redo anything.

I took the easy way out, opted for option 1 which is UKQUALS awarding body, a not so popular body, highly unlikely that is regulated by OFQUAL and not sure it is equivalent to NVQ.

They have issued me all certificate and my business with them is done but they are not straightforward. Be careful with them

Hello GracedVictory, I sympathize with you and many others in this situation. Please keep trying, especially NHS Trusts - England, Scotland, and Wales - HSCNI, and also councils.
Nowadays, most private care organizations prefer to consider only applicants already based in the UK. However, anything is possible.

Hello EndWeakerection, yes, there are differences. Caregiver/Care Worker/Carer is mostly care home/home care based. On the other hand, Health Care Support Worker/Health Care Assistant/Nursing Auxiliary is usually hospital based. The ONS SOC for the former is 6145 while that for the latter is 6141.
The implication of this is that though the former is eligible for both HACW and SW visas, it's on the Shortage Occupations list for only SW visa (which attracts IHS), while the latter is on the Shortage Occupations list for HACW visa (exempt from IHS).

Thanks. I was worried about getting cos because I was avoiding going for PSW because it’s expensive and doesn’t count towards ILR. But God did it. I started support worker job hunting in June when I couldn’t get Finance related jobs sponsorship because all the companies I applied to are saying they don’t offer sponsorship and their pay was very low.

I sent a paid mail last week and i got a decision made feedback but passport has not moved back to VAC. Wetin dey cause this delays self.... � Funny enough, I've seen someone who had his biometric done on 14th july, thou a dependant, and has his passport picked up already.

Just to encourage anyone regarding the PCC

Try get it done online register an email and provide the necessary items online , actual fee is 25k while processing fee is 5k making 30k in total .

After making payment you would receive alert and when to proceed to capture in the place you had choosen usually the state CID in your location .

Note the 5k is for these processing of the biometrics you will be providing hence NO Need paying anything else unless you feel comfortable dashing anyone money .

The increase in this is too much , and it's worth condemning rather than just keeping quiet .

If the country wasn't this way it is now , the hype in this travelling and japa things would not be like this . So , ensure you are not cheated further , the pressures are too much !
