Yvete:

shocked I get rid of the egg whites and use yolks only. Don't you get a white-ish leftover from the egg stuck on your hair? A friend of mine tried it and complained about the smell of egg white even post-condish. It bothered her. lolz

Most Caribbean stores sell castor oil - check your neighborhood. I purchase mine on Amazon. It's very thick & lasts a long time because I mix it with coconut oil in a separate cup.

@Yvete

For the egg white you only need a little , (that's the actual protein in an egg) That is why you have to crack a little hole and allow for a lil quantity to slime out , Not the entire thing.

Most times i really don't bother with the yolk 'cos it makes my already full and voluminous hair too full and coarse ,making it difficult to smooth out when i'm done, especially at the edges.

funkybaby:

i will try this mix.

how often do you apply this on your hair? do you shampoo your hair after or just cowash?

I do this once a week, usually at night,(i also use Almond oil sometimes to replace olive oil)and then Co-wash in the morning.Co- washing Is usually every 2 to 3 days.
Like i said it can get a bit sticky ,oily and even dripping all the way down to your neck if you apply too much to the hair.

I just started my hair growth all over again after experiencing a huge breakage last year.

you can read all about my hair routine here.. http://productsthatactuallydowork..com/p/hair-w.html

After my relaxer this month my next step is to treat and grow my hair from within. So that even when i can't keep up with this hair regimen, i am assured that the vitamins i take will take care of it.

When adding Eggs to make your protein treatment , i often get rid of the yolk.

it doesn't do much for my hair anyways.
(crack a little hole on the egg shell and let the egg white slime out grin)

here's my protein mixture.

2 table spoon of Mayonnaise ( the one used in salad dressing)

4 - 5 table spoon of melted shea butter ( local shea butter not the fancy labelled ones in a jar)

2 table spoon of olive oil

2 table spoon of coconut oil

2 eggs, ( egg whites or albumen)

mix thoroughly and apply generously,

my hair has got lots of volume so it just drinks it all up

If your hair isn't that full , you can just reduce everything here to half so it doesn't clump up.

doing the relaxer stretch thing is normal for me as i have been doing it for the past 12 to 14 years now,its what has retained my black hair colour and given it much volume .Sometimes my front hair become so full and kinky it almost curls up to my eye brows. grin

Herbiorlah: Hi everyone, pls I need ur help oh.. Each time I take my bathe with a sponge I always experience body itches and sratches. So I only use soap to rub my body whenever i bathe. pls can u suggest any solution to dis?

if you've recently changed your environment then the water you're using may be the reason why you're itching after having a bath. Some people have this when they are used to using treated water to bathe but as soon as they go else where and use the water over there they begin to itch because of the difference in the composition of the water.
but if not then what you need is a moisturising shower gel (like Original DOVE SHOWER CREAM)
YOU need to get a shower cream or gel that has a moisturiser in it or better still you can buy a bottle of glycerine and add to your water when having a bath if you're using the shower then as soon as u finish in the shower do not wipe your skin apply the glycerine along with the wet skin for added moisture and let it just absorb in to your skin.

hope this helps

Health / Re: I Have Decided To Use Quincy Herbal Skimmers by uzoo: 5:24pm On May 31, 2013
@original poster

so man y years ago i tried to use quincy , but this was when i was still in Uni, well icouldnt afford it back then so soneone recommended AYODELE SLIMMERS

then i weighed in 90 kilogramms and i can not tell you how i jumped from my teenage weight of 68kg 5 feet 10 inches tall to 6ft 90kg.... it was like looking at young old woman , my friends and relatives
said it was ok cos' they figured i was tall enough to hide the fat but the moment people started referring to me as my mom's younger sister i knew i had to do some thing about sudden weight gain..

I used(Isaac Ayodele) Ayodele slimmers mail-in programme because i couldnt come down to their office frequently for consultation and i lost all the weight.

all i do now is just manage the weight and know how to control my calories and do detox once in a while.
if you are on a weight loss programme either by going to the gym or dieting , YOU HAVE TO DETOX.

right now my weight is within range (74-76kg) depending on how much calories i take in daily.

i haven't used QUINCY so i cant say for sure if it works or not.

Good luck in your journey smiley

'@gratiaeo

your problem is not unique , i used to have serious acne but for the past two years i have been using neutrogena products , it has really varnished.

if you are really prepared to get rid of acne then you should be prepared to have regular facial routine at home..i keep saying this because every woman, girl should have a routine from the moment you hit puberty and it shouldnt stop at just changing your sanitory towel.

Here's what you should do and try to get a range of these Neutrogena acne treatments, and its quite affordable too.

1. Scrub your face 2 to 3 times a week (preferably at night), then use your shower gel, soap, ccream whateveer you use in bathing and then wash off. i will recommend here ...St Ives Apricot scrub (the one that says blemish and black head control)

2. then get the NEUTROGENA ACNE CONTROL CLEANSER apply with a cotton wool,(you can use this after washing your face at night to remove any make up or oily residue)

3 . You can also get the Neutrogena Anti Blemish ,Anti wrinkle facial wash ( it washes off make up with out drying your face)

then finally this is the real deal ... and for some reason this product has been out of the stores for quite some time

whether you do carry on the routine above or not try using NEAUTROGENA CLEAR SKIN CREAM (ANTI BLEMISH AND ANTI WRINKLE CREAM ) it contains salycilic acid and retinol which is a pure form of vitamin A in treating acne.
But i will advice that your face is thoroughly cleaned when using this product, and should be followed by a sunblock if you apply it during the day or morning before leaving the house. i use Neutrogena helioplex sunblock with spf 55
try as much as possible to stick to one product and not change frequently.

WARNING ! do not mix the cream with any other cream or apply any steroids or cream with hyddroquinone on it . You can apply a mild moisturizer or just the sun block

Also ,try changing your pillow covers at least 3 times a week , a lot of germs and junk from our hair are buried in them and at night they tend to find their way to the skin on your face ,causing blemishes.

i hope this helps

hey all!

its been a while ,i hope every one has been good and still keeping the faith.
Its amazing how pregnancy changes one,my neighbour who's in her first trimester has become all mushy mushy , i found out that apart from her cravings she finds herself crying each time she's watching a love story/movie on tv and then she picks up the phone to tell me all about it (crying of course)like its some kind of serious issue...Daah grin

its weird what your hormones get to do to you at this stage, considering she used to be a ''tough,dont-mess with me'' kinda person who hardly watched TV cheesy cheesy

@ Omonikiba
Regarding my previous posts (page 244)

i couldn't get the entire details on the fertility thing ,apparently the lady is in the states attending some seminars but i managed to get in touch with my Sister in-law who gave me her email contact details, if you guys would like to reach her by email organicfruitfuls@gmail.com, i think she can explain further.

Now back to why i actually came back , cause i think you ladies might be of help here....

for the past one month or so i have been having a few pregnancy symptoms , sleepless nights, one late period, slightly nauseous in the mornings but that's only when i'm brushing my teeth. i havent really gained any weight , infact i'm actually trying to lose some pounds before the summer.

I don't want to go for any tests, at least not yet (the reason is because its quite complicated,)

So i just wanna know if one can have these signs and still not be pregnancy related?

all i'm saying is that ever since i discovered this trick to getting softer hands ( and this is like going on 4,5 years now)i havn't stopped, it has become part of me to just use hand cream always, and i hate to stop..., thinking i may never have soft palms or no wrinkles at all if i stop.

lets just say its a habit you should begin to get used to .

Have you tried taking Soy milk,

apart from its amazing benefits to health , Soy drink makes me very sleepy.it relaxes you .

once i take 2 bottles a day ,am zonked out and fast asleep. they sell them every where , i take vita milk ( not the energy one)

Another way to fall asleep on the bed is doing some breathing exercise.

once you lye down, try to take a deep breathe and slowly , ''SLOWLY'' exhale with your mouth closed of course.
do this 5 or 6 times or as often as you can while lying down till you gradually drift off.

Some one did mention something about your blood pressure on this thread, and that could also be the reason why you're not getting much sleep, try and have your blood pressure checked especially at night or when ever you're feeling light headed, and then see a doctor for help.( i wouldn't resort to strong medication though)

But if your condition is stress or emotionally related , then you should take it easy and deal with the situation or worries immediately so you can get back to having a sound sleep.

kiwi5: Please how do i get wrinkles off my fingers,am just in my 20'S,i do alot of domestic work at home which might be the cause. What should be the best product to apply that does not bleach. Thanks

you remind me of me, i used to have the same problem, cause i had parents that were neat freaks,so if i wasn't cleaning, washing, cooking ..in fact an hour will not go by with out having to wet my palms one way or the other.

this is what has helped me.

whether its shea butter, cocoa butter , bio oil , any form of hand cream, whatever .. make sure they go everywhere with you. your purse, bed side , kitchen , work desk, car, everywhere! Use them every time even when you wake up in the middle of the night to use the bath room ,massage properly into your hands so the skin absorbs it.

you can have 3 , 4, or 5 jars of the hand cream every where so that it is within your reach.

DON'T WAIT TILL YOU SOAK YOUR HANDS IN WATER ! , apply them every hour, whether before, after , during your house chores. Do this for the rest of your life ,this is what has helped me so far, i have had hand creams falling out of my house. One in every handbag , my car, my bedside,dresser,kitchen....everywhere.

Good luck.

Health / Re: Advice On How To Reduce This My Unceased High B.P by uzoo: 2:11pm On May 12, 2013
the best way to reduce high blood pressure is diet and YOGA!

i have introduced friends and in -laws that have had HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE for years to Attending YOGA classes twice a week.
whether you are over weight, under weight, diabetic, or have athritis , whatever your age, whatever it is, the only way to get rid of your High blood pressure is to engage in YOGA classes.

these people have had HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE for years ,even some was hereditary (father ,mother, siblings had it) so they became comfortable with it and resorted to strong medications from their doctors abroad.

the condition was so bad that whenever you take their blood pressure day or night it will escalate.(very scary). And the scary thing about it was to think they would appear normal to you and going on their daily activities with it.No wonder its called a silent killer.

Some complained of serious migraine from this condition(High BP).

I can not over emphasize the benefits of yoga.

Yoga opens up your veins, joints, nerves. This amazing work out can be done every other day, no fancy equipments, all you need is a mat, towels, light work-out clothes and an instructor. Anyone can do it,( in your twenties,thirties.....,even in your eighties) age is not limit as it does not involve any pain.

the techniques involved are Breathing,Strength, Balancing, Stabilizing your positions/posture etc

As for the diet part, it has to be tailored to the individual needs.

@OP
Try YOGA classes two or three times a week for one month, and then go back the next month and check your blood pressure.
come back here and give your feed back/reviews.

Good luck.
