Culture / Re: Check Out How Ondo People Are Appeasing The Gods For The Epidemic Disease by VantagePoint: 7:43pm On Apr 18, 2015 |
Something similar happened in London in the 20th century. People were vomiting, stooling and dying like flies. Someone traced the source to the borehole that served the town. ..and CHOLERA was discovered. It was a simple thing afterwards to isolate the source and effect other measures. They didn't appeal to any gods. 6 Likes 1 Share |

I certainly won't be happy if someone comes to take over my opportunities, in my land. I'd be unhappy, though not incited to violence. And I'd hope the usurpers would leave, allowing me to get employed and not compete with foreigners, in my own land. 2 Likes 1 Share |

When I see ladies painted and set up like dolls for pictures like these, I lose respect for them. The pictures are telling us:"the only thing I have to offer is my beauty. I have no substance, personality, skills, talent or vision. I am not particularly known for anything, but a celebrity's doll. I am to be seen, not heard. " |

Vickybee:Why don't you just keep quiet and bury your head in the sand? "He (They) insulted me first".....just like my 3-year old niece would say.. On second thoughts after reading through your other posts, I am not surprised at the way you talk. Stick your pseudo-feminism where the sun don't shine. |

Vickybee:"A madam and her boy" ! Just listen to yourself! You're letting your raving feminism (and that's a euphemism) cloud your judgment. Who is the madam, and who is the 'boy' ? Because he attended her workshop? For looking up to her as a role model? And you want gender equality in the name of feminism. Look no farther for the hypocrite. |

Romance / 9 Types Of Women Men Avoid. by VantagePoint: 7:00pm On Jan 21, 2015 |
This is not a counter thread. However, my encounters with a significant number of ladies who have threaded through the quilt patchwork that is ny heart have brought about these observations. 1. The Diggers:Now, I was going to say' gold-diggers', but we all know they'll take cash as well, and just about everything else while pretending to love you. They'll milk you dry for money, clothes, shoes in exchange for s3x, or worse, 'love and care' . Tell them you're short of cash, and they'll dump you so fast you feel dizzy. 2.THE CRY -BABIES: It's alright for a girl to be'girly' and want a shoulder to cry on.Heck, guys feel macho when they've to provide the shoulder. What is not right is an excessively emotionally lady who cries like a baby at the slightest argument, provocation or fight. She goes on about hurt feelings and doesn't let up until she's pampered and put to bed with a lullaby, or s3x (which is a good way of getting laid, tho). 3.THE FAKES: I was once slapped by a girl because I called her by her given name(Chinwe) , instead of the preferred Margaret in public. According to her, I embarrased her by calling her that! Guys are not impressed by girls who affect a weird accent (not British or American), who look like they've never farted before, who pretend to be excited by chocolate, flowers, pizza or McDonald's. 4. THE MAKEOVER CREW:I once went out with a girl I never knew had tribal marks until 2 weeks after. Sometimes, scratching a girl's face can reveal a whole new underlying geography:contours, hills, crevices, discolorations, plateaus, etc. Make up is good, but it is to enhance your appearance, not change it. 5. THE DESPERATES:She's on the wrong side of whatever age, and understandably wants to settle down. However, she is willing to go great lengths to do that, from giving you an ultimatum for dating, meeting her parents on the 2nd date, and taking your name to one babalawo. 6.The NFAs: Yes, the NFAs. They sit on their lazy fannies and wait for Mr.Rich to come sweep them off their feet, marry them, honeymoon on the French Riviera, open a multi-million naira account for them, install them in a big supermarket and live happily after. That kind of story doesn't even fly in fairy tales. 7.THE JEALOUS ONE:Everyday, she goes through your pockets, phone and wallet, looking for proof of cheating. She picks your calls and can be very vicious if a female voice floats over the line. She knows all the contacts in your phonebook, BBM and Whatsapp . 8.THE TARDY BABE:We all do African time, and allow extra time for makeup. However, standing someone up on a date or outing for no apparent reason gets tiresome. 9. THE'UNTUSH' BABE:She's not a nun, but she hardly takes the effort to look presentable. She is untidy, uncouth, unfashionable and doesn't make efforts to change. Like I said, this isn't a counter thread, and the list is not exhaustive. However, it could be viewed as such.Feel free to add yours. |

Romance / Re: What Else Will A Guy Gain From A Girl That Says "No Sex" In The Relationship? by VantagePoint: 11:51pm On Dec 27, 2014 |

The same ladies that want a generous boyfriend think they're offering him heaven on earth with love, faithfulness and respect. Relationships shouldn't be based on sex but any girl who comes to say her love, faithfulness and respect are substitutes for sex is living in dreamland. Unless the guy is a virgin and a pastor, that thing you're denying him he'll get somewhere else. |

dorlapoh20:Oh please! And the girl gains what; money, free airtime, clothes and gifts? If the guy doesn't provide any of the above, y'all females tag him as stingy. Yet you want to offer him love, respect and faithfulness. That's why he's got a dog. Ladies, if you ain't giving any, don't demand any. You can't eat your cake and have it . |

Health / Re: 'How I Survived Cancer'- Soyinka by VantagePoint: 8:11am On Nov 26, 2014 |
damselalayo:A cancer is a malignant neoplasm,.If it is benign, it is a tumour. So, there's no such thing as "malignant cancer"-it is tautology. Cancers can be cured, if detected very early. However, this is usually difficult, as the cancer would've spread by the time the person decides to seek medical treatment, no thanks to superstitious beliefs and unorthodox treatment. 2 Likes |
Health / Re: 'How I Survived Cancer'- Soyinka by VantagePoint: 8:04am On Nov 26, 2014 |
In our environment, people with cancer present in hospitals late, after employing all sorts of unorthodox treatments. By the time they get to the hospital, it may be too late. Public awareness, massive screening programs, and early presentation are very vital. Don't use local herbs to treat suspicious ans undiagnosed ailments! Don't listen to friends and family who tell you it is nothing! Ladies, examine your bosoms frequently! Don't let a part of your body take over the rest. 1 Like |
