You keep raising tangential issues. We can talk about peak demand. I tell you subtract what goes to mining - and come - and we can discuss what really goes to you Mama's or Papa's house in Ghana. With all GOLD/Aluminium/Bauxite processing that goes on - you peak demand is now 2,500MW. If you remove roughly 1,000MW ( I am being super fair) - you peak demand for household is about 1500MW.
I have repeated this many times to you? our mining industry is not power consumable. it is underdeveloped. go CHECK on mining industry in Ghana and give us the actual figure ... even our bauxite has never been mined at industrial level. what we do here is local mining which the goverment is trying to modernise. you can't debate what is simply more than your wisdom ... who ever graduate You as a degree holder should be jailed . you dissapoint whatever is called education .

Ghana peak demand can be check on Ghana energy commission websites. you this dimwit. we aren't on the same track. compare kenya with valco an aluminium industry in Ghana

I guess when you spend most of your childhood as famine refugee in Nigerian scavenging for food - you really couldn't read or write.

My friend - enrol yourself in your laughable - half-day school program aka ghana double track system smiley smiley - an afternoon of schooling will do you a lot of good.

Permit me to called you an idiot . if you failed to understand distribution ratio against the house hold pattern, how can you called yourself a software engineer? something went wrong while you are acquiring such degree, it might be bought or be favoured on you.

now take the chance of free education in Ghana which is not available in your village and harbour no discrimination to come better your life ....

Take a break and maybe your remaining two functional brains cells won't overheat.

South Africa's Eskom consumes 30,000MW of power. But here I am comparing number of customers. Eskom has about 17M customers on their grid. All the Ghanians electricity companies have about 4M. For you to reach South Africa level...you need to double your number to 8M....that will mean you have covered all 6.5M Ghanians in their homes..not just 3.7M...and also you have covered another 1.5M office, business and kiosks.

You're about half-way - at 55% - when you get universal access - come and we shall celebrate.

Kenya is ahead of you because - we are already at 8M customers - and we are adding nearly 1.5M annually - the WORLD FATESTES ELECTRIFICATION for some years now.

You have no data about the number of electricity rates Ghana is holding you dimwit. how so you question everything as if you are sound yourself.... we aren't on the same chatter of life with south africa , our industries are even not highly power consumable except the valco industries which generate its own power and consume more power than the nation kenya. you can draw from there ....

When you foolishly check the pattern of distribution, you will stupidly see it is growing and it's not changing any time soon . Thiat is if go school enough to understand table. arguing blindly...

in actuality , most of the power we generate are not consumed, though the distribution rate and consumption rate is growing, Firstly, there is excess electricity generation which was procured during the last regime from Independent Power Producers, including the Emergency Power Producers. Go read about it.

According to our Energy Commission, GHANA has installed power generation capacity of 5,083 MW, dependable capacity of 4,593 MW and peak demand of around 2,700 MW. So, our installed capacity is almost double our peak demand

so on average, less than 40 per cent of the contracted capacity is used, meaning that we are basically using 40 percent of the remaining 60 per cent of excess capacity which we do not actually consume.

Of course we can and do count household. We don't have to go physical to every Ghana household like we do in Census. We just divide your total population(28.5M) with average household size (4.5) - and voila we get 6.5M.

Don't support your lying gov - that you have 85% electricity access like South Africa - YOU DONT.

Your really access at best is 50-60%.

The madness start again. when the table you upload shows there is pattern of change in the house hold and house hold is growing.

if you can support your 6.5 , I will hand over the discustion

It easy really. Ghana at 28m people is about half populated as South Africa at 56M. Ghana has the most dishonest politicians that have plunged the country into 16 IMF bailout. This is what democracy sometimes breeds. So recently they decided to cook figures and claim like South Africa they were nearly universal access.

The problem South Africa's Eskom has 16M plus customers and Ghana has 4M plus electricity customers.

Now explain this madness now....

Consumption rate of electricity is not about the number of people consuming it but the rate at which the number of people consuming it spring forth ... 10 people may be consuming more than 100 people... South Africa electricity is heavily used by mining sectors our is largely house hold consumable

As of 2017 - your NHIC covered 40% - 10million - while Kenya similar scheme covers 30M (3.4 of kenyans). And we are starting UHC (universal health care). I know you're so excited about NHIS because it's 10yrs old. Kenya's equivalent is what 60yrs old.

National Hospital Insurance Fund is a State Parastatal that was established in 1966 as a department under the Ministry of Health. And we do not use our budget to fund NHIF smiley That is why IMF IS ALWAYS BAILING YOU OUT

Your budget are heavily use to service salaries not on human development, it shows how backwardness kenya as a nation will be .... .
we budget for health care and education ....that is what a progressive nation do.. our health insurance has over 100 capacity.. what your goverment is trying to make in 2022 is our reality. I read your blogs about your health care delivery and all i can say your case is a sorry case.

The initiative that made this a success is our digital renewal process from Health Insurance Authority, whose role is to ensure access to basic healthcare services for all residents.

The insult per word ratio is coming down - keep it up. Your NHIS covers only 2% of the poor and 36% of current health expenditure is out of pocket.

As you can see you have a long way to go - because our NHIF which allows you to be treated in decent private & mission hospitals - already covers roughly 30M Kenyans.

Now, the 17M mostly poor kenyans have to pay out of pocket - and we are fixing that with Universal Health Care - meaning if you're so poor to go to public hospitals.

Now I got an article for you - dated 2019.

https://www.sightsavers.org/blogs/2019/08/universal-health-coverage-ghana-how-can-we-really-make-progress/
The NHIS was introduced to curb high user fees and their effect on the poorest people in rural and working environments. After more than a decade of implementation, it is estimated that less than two per cent of the poor are covered, and people with disabilities – many of whom are among the poorest of the poor – do not have any special provisions under the scheme. It is not surprising that about 36 per cent of current health expenditure is out-of-pocket payment.

You are an idiot ..... health insurance scheme here is even cover by private hospitals not only goverment reserve area.... when you have a reliable budget that can fund such a social scheme than let's debate again ... show me the amount you budget for health care? let's start from there

Stop quoting blogs with me you this animal ... many blogs out there position your health care system as underdeveloped. and immature yet You don't see me here using it with you.

I know Ghana electricity access according to your Yemi kale (Ghana Stats Office ) is 85%. That is basis of that number that everyone quote - HOUSEHOLD SURVEYS BY YOUR NATIONAL STATS. But I am telling you for free - you cannot have only 3.7M household connected to electricity according to your power utlity companies and claim you've reach 85%. So there is a problem - with Ghana Statistics - because the data doesn't CROSS-reference with metered customers of your electricity utility company. Unless you mean about 3M Ghanians are illegally connected to the grid or are on off grid (solar systems).

A number of customers has to match the number of households - you have 6.5M households in Ghana with 3.7M connected to the main grid. Your real electricity access to the main grid therefore is about 55%.

In Kenya, we have about 12m households with about 8M connected to the main grid. Mean we still need to cover 4M households. Our real electricity access - at least to the main grid - is 65%.

This is basically meaningless with hogwash Input which I am not not interested in engaging. simply becasuse you are arguinhg backwardly. you Quoted a 2016 report when Ghana was in energy crisis... I have provided data and graph illustration to show you the house hold unit and consumption pattern has increased from 2016 to 2019 ....

in giving fact as evidence, time and date matter most.. .. you may need to go do some more research.....

Once you have IMF monkey off your back - come and tell us about your social services - otherwise, I imagine the first business when IMF have come (16 times) is to cut all those social spendings. Development can only happen when you sustain something for a generation or two.

In Kenya we have National Health Insurance fund - and we are also starting Universal Health Care - 4 counties were on pilot and It going national this year. Of course we have many private health insurance for middle class.

NHIF now covers well over 8M households - or about 30M people out of 47M. NHIF covers both outpatient and inpatient in both private, mission and public hospitals....coverage includes even cancer.

Now those 17M will be covered by Universal Health Care - basically they pay nothing in public hospitals.

You talk way of point , we have over the full capacity coverage ( that is about 30 million people) our health care system cover as much as brain surgery. we aren't joking boy,we even made it easy , registration can easily be done thru your smart phone.... we have digitized our health sector. largest blood drone delivery service in the world.... this is in the rural areas...

our 2018 financial budgetary estimates shows that the health budget is 6.57% of GDP, and therefore less than the 15% anticipated by the ""Abuja Declaration""( buy we have done better than many African state including ruwanda) our health sector, together with education, continue to be the two largest sectors of our public expenditure. we can only march north Africa in this regard....

With over GHS 19 billion which is roughly 5 billion dollar was spent last year on human assets just in the health sector. we don't joke here boy ...
