You will blame everybody else except your useless government/leaders who makes life unbearable for it's citizens with the high cost of living.

Even the Polish embassy had to increase their Visa Fee from 80 Euros to 135 Euros 2 weeks ago.

No be quarrell na. No one is blaming you, I am only stating the obvious, especially based on your comment on 700k being too much....May God help us all.

mum was in similar situation. tax certificate was not ready. she declared retired and my dad is also retired too, had enough funds in her bank statement and even sponsored my dad.just get all necessary docs from your husband and let your parents include all their properties docs and other supporting docs. that will do.my parents got six months, they intended to stay for weeks.

Thank you, noted!

You're welcome.

Close of business usually works per calendar year or fiscal year.
Calendar year: December 31st; Fiscal Year (for her business): March 31st. She could work with Fiscal Year and get a TIN from the FIRS office; also find out the Tax Holiday for her industry (how many months her business is free to not pay tax). Tax Holiday is usually 6 months or thereabouts. Then, do her Annual Returns filing by the end of the year & submit that with her CAC documents.

The assets aspect is dicey. There must be something sufficient to bring her back to Nigeria; her business is one but I think she needs more simply because she just established this year; UKVI could see it as a plan she hatched to game the system & flee. This paragraph is hugely subjective - and not backed with facts.

You should also consider her travel history as well.

Thank you so much. I'll get to work.

Veacon, hiya!
I can answer about 4. Hopefully, number 5 will be answered by others.

1. Yes, it's okay. So, this totally depends on you i.e. when you intend submitting the application for her considering response timeline from UKVI & peak period delays.

2. I think I agree with the response you got earlier. 2 months for first time visit feels long to me; 1 month, 1 week should be fine.

3. Not so sure about this but why not pay tax at the close of business this year and then apply early next year? That gives a time bracket of 6 weeks to get a response from UKVI. Her business will/can serve as home tie, amongst others.

4. Her business is a tie. Does she have assets in Nigeria? You've got siblings - are they in Nigeria?

5. I'm not sure about this. Cc: Justwise

I hope the answers help.

Thank you BizBloke... really do appreciate.

I think I'll do 1 month 1week as you advised...I hope it flys.

I get you...thing is she started her present business in April, so close of business should be about same time next year.... really confused on how to go about this.

No she doesn't have assets. My siblings are over 18...one is studying in Ghana and the other just finished, do you think presenting them will suffice?

2 months stay is a lot for. 1st time... reduce it
Kindly read this thread’s part 4, someone had same omugwo story and inviting her mum with her husband sponsoring... her experience might help pending when the gurus answer your questions
She reduced the stay in the application form to 2 weeks and was granted...
When ur mum is granted, on her trip just make sure she has a valid return ticket without a long duration
She can always come back a second time to visit you on that same visa..

Thank you... appreciate

Hello Gurus in the house,
Please, I need your advice. I'm currently in the UK on a spouse visa, I'm expecting my first baby due by March next year. The thing is I want to invite my mum to come visit in order to help me out, at least in the first two months. My questions are:

1. Is it ok to invite her a week or two before my baby is due as I'd really love for her to be here when baby arrives.

2. Will 2 months stay be too much considering it's her first visit to the UK?

3. She's a little over 50 and does business, though recently registered with CAC but don't pay tax or anything. My husband wil be sponsoring her entire trip. Will the above hamper her chances?

4. My dad's late. How do we handle the issue of ties to show she'll leave after the visit.

5. Finally, roughly how much does my husband need to have in his account for the trip. I have a faint idea of documents we need to show, but will really appreciate any input.

Thank you.[sub][/sub]

Gurus in the house, please help me out here..

Please any answers ? Please... 1.4m isn't small money oo lol

My advice would be, make sure you apply before the 17th of May, in fact apply immediately her bank statement arrives so you're on a safe side.

Alternatively, To avoid any conflict, After her Salary has been paid and payslip issued, I'll advise she immediately go to the bank and request for her bank statement for that month (April), so you can apply in April. Just make sure it's printed on bank letterhead and validated on all pages....(that is exactly what I did)

Tutor Lexus, Justwise and others, pls validate the above

I recently applied for my settlement visa (though not gotten to flr stage yet), and I didn't include sponsorship form because ukvi doesn't say its a requirement.

But if you aren't confident not including it, please by all means include it, bcz alas, doing that will cost u nothing.

Hello All.. please i have a few more questions..

1. Is Sponsorship Undertaking form compulsory for Spousal Visa?

2. My UK Naric certificates done were ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION LEVEL STATEMENT for my Uni and Masters.. and ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY STATEMENT for my Uni and Masters (both considered to meet requirements of CEFR level C1).. Am i good to go?

3. My whatsapp communication log for exported chats is about 1,000 pages.. i haven't even added Facetime calls.. emails and screenshots of whatsapp chats.. we've been dating for 5yrs & married the 6th year in Oct 2018 and so have a lot of pre marriage to show for it.. is that too many pages

4. My wife (sponsor) has to get an introduction letter from her place of work. At the head of the letter whom should it be addressed to? Is it the ECO or to whom it may concern or Sheffield. Please can anyone clarify

5. Would I get the Sheffield address (where my wife would eventually send the docs) when I go for my biometrics? Whats the correct Sheffied address currently used?

no vex for my wahala pls..

Thanks.

1. No it isn't.

2. I believe u are good to go, Lexus pls confirm.

3. A thousand pages is too much o, who wan read am?
Pls do a summary of the WhatsApp log. What I did was pick few chats from each month (beginning, middle and end of d month). In all, I had about 20 pages or so from 3 years.

4. I think to whom it may concern is fine, mine was addressed that way. But if you like you can use the Eco too...

5. Yes you will get it on the day though I believe the right addy (wer I sent mine) is :
UKVI
PO BOX 3468
Sheffield, UK
S3 8WA

Arranged in this order:
Application form and appendix 2
English language
TB test
Relationship docs
Maintenance docs
Accommodation docs.
