Good move by the Vatican.
I guess the matter is now laid to rest.
The reconciliation will follow.
Obviously the Vatican has risen above the large number of self proclaimed custodians of the doctrine in NL
The ( Universal) Catholic Church will no doubt grow stronger as a result.
Travel / Re: Visitors From Nigeria To UK To Pay £3000 Bond Before Entry by VEGA(m): 9:03pm On Jun 23, 2013
£3000*100000 applicants per annum comes to £300million of interest free fund from Nigeria into UK economy even if is for average of 1 month in the year. Every little bit counts eh!
NICE ON CERO!

This is really music to my ears!
About time one would say, but then Rome was not built in a day.
More attention to infrastructure will definitely see exponential growth as Nigeria becomes the new frontier.
You will be amazed how easily the green passport starts to get 'enjoy your stay sir' around the world airports irrespective of our past.
All hands on deck and let us fight corruption, embibe some discipline, show accountability to make the dividends a significant legacy to be bequeathed.
WORLD HERE WE COME!

The issue has nothing to do with Catholic doctrine. Groups in Mbaise are trying to make their point and quite vocally. Their point is that there is a skewed appointment of Catholic Bishops in Nigeria and is unacceptable to them. This is an internal Catholic Church problem and as someone said in this forum, it should be noted that not all Mbaise people are Catholics.
That said, Rome has spoken and as such Bishop Okpaleke stays. Obviously this would be a test of his calling as he has to build followership since without sheep there would be no need foe a shepherd. Rome would in time look into the issues raised and I am pretty certain the Church will come out stronger.
Commentators should stop being carried away by stereotypes and shallow thinking.
Both sides have made their points but the Catholic Church which I proudly profess will as usual take care of this little storm in a tea pot.

Politics / Re: Reps Claim Otedola Has No Video-clip On $620,000 Bribe by VEGA(m): 6:15pm On Jul 09, 2012
Where then is the sting operation? I queried why it would be Otedola that would release an SSS sting tape. The head of SSS needs to inform Nigerians if they arranged any sting with Otedola.
I do not doubt for a moment that a tape exists whether Otedola admits it or not. This is because all them rich guys monitor their homes 24/7 on tape. This is not difficult. I suggest too that there is no marked dollars as in extra security markings, serially numbered may be but this is expected if they were mint from the bank. Please give the serial numbers and CBN would fill in the blanks.
The script is obviously not playing out well for both the House, Otedola and Lawan. I believe that if Nigerians yell loud enough like we did in the BA passenger issue, all these crooks will ask for out of court settlement with Nigerians and we go for all or nothing. Theories abound but the key actors who have the answers have not been compelled to save us from furthr theorising. NL as a more reliable free press should mobilise members, visitors, friends and Nigerians to demand answers so that the fuel subsidy probe report may not die!!!

Politics / Re: Farouk V Otedola - By Festus Keyamo by VEGA(m): 9:48am On Jul 05, 2012
Am I missing something?
SSS sting details released by Otedola? We need to have official confirmation from SSS that indeed this was their Sting operation. Why was there no SSS man witnessing the money transfer at Otedola's house by pretending to be a tea boy or cleaner as part of the sting? Now the money appears to have vanished!
Please we need to hear SSS version or confirmation. Recall that Farouk tried to claim his own sting but when the chips were down his friend denied him.
We may still have some twists and turns in this saga.
To me Nigeria will be the better off for it.

It still beats me why HYSON was asked to bow and go. Who is HYSON?, an offshore subsidiary of NNPC meant to refine crude for local consumption?
Please let us know from the committee what they know about how this arrangement was managed.

Politics / Re: Air Nigeria Denies Ex-director's Claims; Calls Him A Thief by VEGA(m): 6:44pm On Jun 05, 2012
Whether this Nnorom guy is speaking the 'sour grapes' or not, his allegations should be investigated. From his last position in the Company before he was released, resigned, sacked or whatever he should be in the position to know and Govt should wade into it before we have another ' Midas' Cecilia Ibru and others resulting in innocent Nigerians picking up the tab. Even if it comes to nought, at least due diligence would have been followed. If only Nigerians with illicit deals gone sour would start singing like the recent NSE bribery allegations, the country would be better for it.

Much as  I am not a fan of the First Lady or impressed with her husband's [Sorry, Mr.President's] performance since winning the election NL owes readers to crosscheck claims and remove once found wanting.

I suggest you google it and see what you get. I know the vessel with that name plus her unique International number.
Politics / Re: Breaking News: House May Close Crude Oil Account by VEGA(m): 8:47pm On Feb 04, 2011
Our press appears comatose on issues that concern the generality of Nigerians. I think the Finance Minister should be on 'hard talk' to answer questions thrown by his professional colleagues and ordinary citizens regarding the expenditures and budgetry requests on his watch. The fleecing of the Nation is going on at a grand scale and there does not seem to be any light at the end of the tunnel. The staff at MDAs are just carrying on business as usual. Yes! we live with them and those who do business with them know this. The House and Senate on the other hand are up to no good as put by a poster and lack credibility in most issues they raise as selfish undertones are the hallmarks. Why not regulate the disbursement of the extra Crude account rather than throw it out for sharing by raising the benchmark price. Is it not clear that the press should start daring the powers by throwing more information at the public as is done in other democracies in this age. Sanity can only come when it becomes obvious that people will get to know what is going on. The 'expose' of the shocking actual remuneration of our elected members did not come from an informed and daring press rather only after some CBN governor let the cat out of the bag! Time for our press to fight the good fight!!!!

First I must say thank you to all of you in this forum. A forum which has so much uplifted my rather limited knowledge of stockmarket.
Been a hoooooked observer since I joined about three months back.
Have had my questions asked by fellow 'learners' who are faster on the button and answered by gurus that spare nothing in sharing their wealth of knowledge and time gratis.

Hi SEUN, please keep up the filters and continue to keep it neat and focused.

Team, may the joy of Xmas and fruitful investments in the coming year be your cup of tea.
