Events / Na Wa Festival, Nigeria by vienna86: 11:13pm On Apr 13, 2011 |
"'NA WA Festival' is a ten day event from June 13th 2011 to June 22nd 2011 to raise awareness about the reality of exploited African migrants in Europe. Since Nollywood[nigerian Film industry], being the third largest film industry in the world has successfully addicted and influenced the orientation of her audience through home videos and movies, our festival will use films/home videos to gain the attention of the Nigerian audience especially vulnerable groups and policy makers. Aimed at preserving the dignity of the Nigerian youth and promoting regular and safe migration, the festival provides a platform to debate the issue of human trafficking and smuggling as a form of irregular migration. In collaboration with NAPTIP, a minimum of six European countries[Austria, Belgiun, France, Germany, United Kingdom and Switzerland], UNODC, UNGIFT and IOM, the Austrian based civil society organisation EXIT, we will show a series of film screenings, book reading, panel discussion and networking reception in the following Nigerian states: ABUJA, LAGOS and EDO. NYSC / NYSC Or Graduate School by vienna86: 1:13pm On Mar 30, 2011 |
Hi all! I'm seeking advice about a decision I am trying to make. I have a BSc in Psychology from a US university. I haven't been able to get a job in the states, so I have been advised to go do my masters in Human Resource Management (in US or the UK), so I can get better qualifications (a bachelors in psychology isn't very helpful in getting a full time job). However I'm thinking of coming home to Nigeria to do my NYSC so as to test the waters of living in Nigeria for a year. So these are my options: Do my NYSC this October for a year and then do my masters in HRM after, and then return back to Nigeria to work. OR go do my masters this September and then when I'm done with my masters move back to Nigeria to do my NYSC and after try and get a job in Nigeria. Please let me know what you guys think. Thanks in advance. |
