Hey guys, I tried to schedule an appointment for a non-immigrant (B1/B2) visa, then I received a notification stating, "Your request to schedule an appointment has been received and will be reviewed. You’ll receive an email once your request is approved." This seems new to me. Is this normal, and how long do they normally take to respond? |

Please Ruby, what’s the current appointment time you’re seeing for Lagos? I’m really hoping the current timeline is not ridiculous right now. Ruby56: |

Hey guys I have two questions, any tips and advice will be greatly appreciated. Question 1: I am attempting to apply for a visit visa for my sister and her family (husband and one daughter). She has been denied twice. First time: She went with her daughter, they were both denied. (Invitation was for my graduation in 2019). Interview was at the consulate in Abuja Second time: She went with her kid and husband, they were all denied. Interview was in Lagos. (2022) I want her to apply again, as I think she was ill prepared both times based on my conversations with her after both interviews. I haven't seen them in about 6 years, and I'd love to have them visit for a few weeks as I recently just became a PR via Eb visa. What would you suggest we do differently this time? I want to be more involved and precise in the application process this time to avoid repeating the same mistake and will gladly welcome any advice or scrutiny you may have. I still believe it's possible for them to get a visit visa, so I don't want to lose hope. Question 2: What are the current timelines for getting an interview date, and are there any legitimate ways to secure a date in 2024 without negatively impacting their immigration aspirations? Thank you in advance for your contributions, grateful for a platform such as this. |

I fully understand your stance and trust me when I say I followed through the arguments, however none of the non-co-signing loan possibility stated seem to fit into my profile. Also, I understand co-signing is a serious commitment, especially in the case of a default from the primary applicant - Technically, I can say I worked as a credit officer for 2 years and I understand what it means to indemnify someone. That being said, plz if you can help a brother pleasee do (on my knees), you really did raise my hope when I read ur post on helping some1 get a co-signor. Trust me I have a fantastic credit record at least here in NG. femi312: 1 Like |

Abeg link me up Bro. I beseech thee! The co-signer requirement is the only thing delaying my loan application approval. Fwesh101: |

Sorry about your denial, IMO the resumption date is too close. I'm sorry you might have to defer and re-strategise. However, what is the reason for your denial? So you can get help from the forum. Horlanrewajuh: |

Please help!!! My school resumes January 9th and I can't seem to find an earlier appointment date despite the fact that my expedited appointment was approved. What can I do at this point? It is quite worrisome! 1 Like |

School: UNBC - University of Northern British Columbia Course: MSc Biochemistry Yes i did submit a separate application for the TA after i was advised by my supervisor to do so. When it comes to getting a scholarship, TA and the likes from an institution, i would say the key is your research proposal, ensure you take your time to draft one, if you do, it could save you thousands of dollars! All the best Sir/Ma. cuspy: 1 Like |

I have just been awarded a TA by my institution, effective 31st August 2017, this is expected to cover a substantial amount of my tuition. I am yet to get my TRV despite applying much much earlier. Should I send a mail to CIC attaching the letter to see if that would make them speed things up? |

My application as at today is about 15,465,600 seconds old or 257,760 minutes or 4296 hours or 179 days or 25 weeks and 4 days whichever one you choose to call it ![]() Well, one I thing I am confident of is that, one day all this is gonna be history when I am living my dreams in the beautiful city of Vancouver. I'm not gonna worry, I am just gonna enjoy my life and prepare for the best. I can't deny i don't also have times that I am like 'what the heck is going on, why is this taking so damn long!' but I take a conscious effort to re-route my thinking and stay positive. My advice, channel your energy into other productive things, while you hope for the best, don't spend all day opening & checking your CIC account. Worrying is a negative energy. No doubt the hardest part of Canada visa application process is the 'waiting period' especially for we Nigerians. But you just gotta be positive and trust God that everything would work out fine. Worrying won't change the outcome of your visa app, but I believe God can and will work it out in your favour. Brace yourself house, I see avalanche of TRV approval coming. Darrelah: 13 Likes |

Mehn...This list is pretty long, IMHO, i think the response time/rate from CIC this year has been really poor, I mean I don't know if am off point here but this list is proof don't you think. All I was familiar with was the 8-10 weeks thingy even when the processing time was way longer. The only two explanable reasons I could think of is perhaps increase in immigrants application to Canada due to Trump's unfriendly immigration rhetorics (IRCC must be experiencing a surge in application rate right now) and possibly the recent Nigeria's Foreign exchange crisis (which I think has been a lil bit stable lately). Anything else, I think this new 'pattern' is just unusual and worrisome to say the least. I wish there was someone in authority we could email or something. vvvvvvvvvvvvvvv:So sorry about your rejection sir...in response to your question, I got my admission offer towards the end of last year, after I was able to get a supervisor (hardest thing I ever did) took me about a month/two tho... I hope you applied to other schools? |
