why are you pretending to be daft?

is the practice of law not formal? do you wear jeans to formal occasions? when one talks down to you you get offended, then you reinforce your poor reasoning by coming up with even dafter analogies. or perhaps you are the kind of pikin that needs to be told not to wear base ball caps to the corporate office?

i know exactly where you are coming from. no need for any dog whistling tongue tongue
No sir, daftness must be part of your genes. You reached into this gutter again to use lousy words like "poor reasoning" and "dafter analogies." It is okay. It is obvious this topic causes you pain, otherwise you would not be throwing tantrums by using such derisive words.

In some industries, jeans and baseball caps are not frowned upon. Ask civil engineers, architects and project managers. In your own world, the hijab is a formal wear, while other types of outfits are informal. We can all see where your own dog started its whistling.

precisely, and there is nothing that says Hijab is not allowed

the implication is exactly what Firdaus stated - that nothing whatsover in any NBA handbook, code of conduct, regulations forbids, or advises against wearing of hijab

please do not pretend to be daft or mischievous.

this is why in the end it will be up to the NBA. as i said previously, unfortuantely for you frothing bigots, Muslims are very very well represented in the NBA.

your 'masquerade' , 'ninja' and other slurs will not hold water because these are professionals who have worked with people in hijab with no issues whatsover.

do you understand now. . .or are you one of those poor souls who has been robbed of critical reasoning by the nigerian educational system?

how do you violate a dress code when there is no rule against it? are you a lawyer? have you ever seen a company policy before? these documents are unambiguos, especially where dress codes are concerned

anything forbidden is SPELT OUT as it is in the documents you perused without comprehending

the best you can get toward your case is one blog where people were advised against religious symbols because of potential prejudices of the judges.

Why do people like you reach for the gutter to unleash filthy innuendoes against those whose views differ from your own? Did you see the words masquerade' , 'ninja' and other slurs, in my previous post or in any of my posts on this thread?

Wearing of jeans, cut-outs and face caps are not mentioned in the dress code either, so does it mean they are allowed?

This is a clear issue which shoukd make everyone push for changes in the actions of the law school and ask for a total overhaul of the dresscode totally but you want to make it an Islam thing.

See how far it goes
Overhaul of which dress code? Did Firdaus tell you she was ignorant of the dress code for lawyers, when she joined the faculty of law in her university, or when she attended law school? Why is she now complaining about a dress code that must have been clearly explained to her over the years?

If they are going to overhaul the dress code, they should overhaul it to ensure that Christians, Atheists, Traditionalists, LGBT community members etc., who are lawyers can wear what they like to court, and whatever they desire to call to bar ceremonies. They must allow them to wear jeans, sutana etc. Finish...!

Frustrated tribalistic irritant grin. I repeat: My watch (Just One of them actually) will feed and clothe you for a year. Just beg and post your account details.

Do so, I plead before hunger forces you into a life of real crime. Frustrated tribalistic irritant who hates Niger Deltans.

I could even change that cheap phone you are using to type trash if you promise to drop tribalism that has eaten so deep into your mentality.

Your choice.

You see, you have started confessing to everyone your status, and the problems that afflict you. sad If you were not hungry, you would not accuse another person of suffering from hunger when such a thought has not crossed his mind.

You have just stylishly exposed your own poverty status here. Sorry, o! shocked Truly wealthy people do not discuss money in such a crass manner like you have done. But then, you have no wealth and no shame. So it is understandable.

So the proceeds from the sale of wristwatches is what you have been using to feed yourself and your family? It says a lot about the kind of person you are. No wonder you were pleading the case of the illegal refiners of stolen crude, to the highest heavens.

Only a hungry poverty-stricken man like you would do his best to justify an illegality, because of the little cash that would accrue to him from such mischievous endeavours. sadYou need them to give you money to buy more wristwatches to feed yourself and your neighbourhood, not so?

Money that is not legally acquired, has wings. Nobody hates Niger-Deltans. Certainly not me. I have not even mentioned them once. I have only made reference to illegal refiners. Is it every body from the Niger-Delta that engages in such an act? No!!

You can cry tribalism from now till tomorrow, it will not change the fact that illegal refining of stolen crude, is a criminal act. May all the perpetrators and their advocates like you, be caught and sentenced to prison for life. Oya, say Amen! undecided

Why do you like adding to what people have said. Please be careful so it doesn't put you in trouble one day.

On the question at hand, even the Federal Government, as announced by Vice President Osinbajo, wants to build several large refineries as a way of legalizing the entrepreneurial activities of these Niger Delta folks. As you can see, Osinbajo has no sympathy for your tribalistic stance on this issue.

To recap, your question about jurisprudence and stolen crude has no basis in reality, as readers of this thread can clearly see a record of what I said about jurisprudence and morality.

Your clear attempt to twist my words exposes you as a very mischievous person whose accounts should be taken with a pinch of salt at best.

It clearly escaped your devious mind that readers can see exactly what I posted above. Your lame attempt at shape shifting has therefore fallen flat on its face- the joke and embarrassment is on you.

Judgement: We will not dignify you with a response to such a mischievous and inane question.

Goodness, you are such a pretender! What you have just done here is to contradict yourself, by using the Vice-President's words as a smokescreen. My question about jurisprudence and stolen crude was based on your earlier assertion about principles of jurisprudence, being a basis for not complying with unjust laws.

Were you not the one who said this?
A principle in jurisprudence has it that an unjust law is not a law. Another principle is that law without the legitimizing backing of morality might not be readily accepted.

I therefore asked you to define that principle of jurisprudence you made reference to. But despite repeated promptings you were unable to do so. Instead of doing so, you have been running from pillar to post, clutching at straws and recycling shallow comments. What a pity. You therefore decided to take refuge in emptiness, by playing the tribalism card. How stale. And shallow.

Even Osinbajo does not support illegal refineries. Or can you quote where he stated in black & white that he categorically supports their theft of crude and illegal refining? His suggestion about setting up large refineries, remains amorphous and vague. When it becomes a reality, give me a call. undecided

So you believe it is unjust for those who steal crude and refine it, not to be allowed to continue their nefarious activities or illegal trade? shocked What is unjust or immoral about not allowing such thieves to refine stolen crude, illegally? Are your values so warped that you cannot distinguish right from wrong? Na wa, o. Continue defending thieves and law breakers, o! Who knows if you are one of them?

If you are hardworking, I might just overlook your obvious slowness and place you on a decent salary. Your choice.

But one thing I hate is liars. So, you must drop your penchant for telling long tales and adding to what other people say. We don't tolerate such trash. Your choice.
Stop lying. Your wristwatch? Gosh, why on earth do you pretend so much? shocked Should I refresh your memory? You were the one who started whining initially that it took me more than a day to respond to your post. I had to explain what led to the delay. undecided

Later, I even mentioned that you lacked a job which was why you were defending the illegal refiners. You could not even deny it. Do you remember? I even advised you to get a life. sad

Anyone with a busy work schedule would not spend hours on end, defending illegality like you keep doing. Everyone can see that the only liar on this whole thread is just you! shocked

Now that the truth about you has been exposed, you are trying to pretend that you wear an expensive wristwatch. Let me laugh very well in pidgin. cheesy Those who actually have tons of cash earned from legitimate hard work, do not go around boasting about things like expensive watches.

Have you ever seen Otedola, Dangote, Elumelu etc, boasting about how much their watches cost? Only crass, classless wannabes do such things. And you have just exhibited such traits. Maybe this is your own way of crying for help, like you stated up here, which is why you are trying to project your insecurities unto others. sad

Now stop digressing. And answer my last question instead of beating around the bush. "Show me the principle of jurisprudence that supports illegal refining of stolen crude." Now, how much longer do I have to wait for your answer....??

I see no point making argument and bad comments about the delayed career she caused to herself. Despite I been a Muslim, I blame the lady because, when she went for call to bar screening, an accurate call to bar dress code was given to her and so to every call to bar candidate to avoid nonuniformity during the call.

However, when she was undergoing her undergraduate program, all law students have their own code of dressing, she never used traditional rappers instead of the suit. More so, she went through same dressing code when in law school and also followed all the regulations concerning law creed without violating.

She knew what she was going into when she got admission to read law with full awareness of the way they dress and anything that has to do with law. Avoiding reading law was the first thing she would have done earlier because she knows that some of it's yearnings go direct opposite with her religion's.

I don't blame them for not calling her to bar. I strongly blame her. Because she is a Muslim, that doesn't mean she is at it and right against them. No. Studying law is her dream, something she has passion for. And she knows everything about it before going into it and she started the journey.

Let her alone face the wrath of her decision. Finally, keep Islam out of it please, because it doesn't encourage her to go for it, and it won't be there for her to defend her. And mind you, this piece depicts only my view about her misfortune.

Thank you for standing on the side of truth, objectivity and rational thinking. May the Almighty Creator bless you...

Correct!

All doors of a moving aircraft are sealed shut by a set of pneumatics controlled by hydraulic valve pressures. You can only deactivate the seal from release latches in the interior.

Even when the aircraft come to a standstill and parked, the doors are still not operable from outside unless first released from inside. This is a security process enforced many years ago when air hijacks was rampant.

There is a over-ride from outside but accessible only by emergency and security authorities.

So I agree with you, this needs to be inspected closely. What was in that air hostess bag, and who is she in her personal life?

Then it means the alleged robbery was a scene from a Nollywood movie script. Do they think everyone who hears the story will swallow it hook, line and sinker without asking questions?

The hijab is not a Friday wear that you use on special occasion. As you would feel without wearing undies is how she feels with her hijab. And that is the difference.

Would anyone ask a lady to remove her panties in public?. Why would anyone begrudge her her dignity and right.

She did not put on her hijab for the occasion, it is not gele, it is not beret, it is her everyday garb.

She knew the hijab was NOT part of the approved dress code for lawyers appearing in court, even before she applied to study law. Why get into the profession and start trying to break the rules?? The hijab is NOT like a woman's panties. So stop trying to draw illogical parallels!

The new UK amendment will still require specific workers, such as those in emergency response and armed service positions, to wear helmets. In 2010, the UK’s Association of Chief Police Officers stated that Sikh police officers would only be allowed on firearms teams if they removed their turbans to wear a helmet. https://qz.com/372692/sikhs-in-the-uk-have-won-the-right-to-wear-their-turbans-to-work/
In the UK, Sikhs had to go to court to ask for approval to wear their turbans in the workplace. Even though clauses protecting freedom of religious worship, has been part of the common law for years.

It took a protracted legal battle, which was finally won in 2015 before they were granted the right to do so. So Muslims followed suit by also wearing their hijab to the workplace. But there are still certain areas in the workplace, where turbans or hijabs are disallowed.

Even in parts of Canada, such things are banned.

Philippe Couillard, the premier of Quebec, was defensive as he addressed the new law. “We are just saying that for reasons linked to communication, identification and safety, public services should be given and received with an open face,” he told reporters. “We are in a free and democratic society. You speak to me, I should see your face, and you should see mine. It’s as simple as that.”
In some cases, safety is pitted against religious freedom. In 2014, Ontario’s premier said the rules of the road—which require motorcyclists to wear helmets—were more important than religious freedom. The problem, Sikhs said, was that helmets would not fit on top of their turbans. https://qz.com/372692/sikhs-in-the-uk-have-won-the-right-to-wear-their-turbans-to-work/

1). Show me where it is expressly stipulated in the rule books by the Council of Legal Education that the hijab is approved as part of the things that can be worn with the wig and gown for court appearances.

2). Firdaus was aware of the prescribed mode of dressing for lawyers, when she started studying law and when she attended law school. Why didn't she raise any objections at that time, about the hijab being excluded from the female lawyer's dress code?

3). Is there a court ruling that states the hijab can be worn for court appearances, like the one backing the Sikhs wearing of turban to UK courts?

4). Does the fact that something is permitted in Kenya, automatically mean it is approved for use in Nigeria?

No emotional religious rants, please. Simple short answers would do. God bless you as you comply.

Is the hijab part of the approved dress code for lawyers in Nigeria? Just because something is permitted in Kenya, does not mean it would automatically be approved in Nigeria. May I ask if there is any law anywhere in the law school's rule book where Hijab is categorically barred for Muslim law students. I'd appreciate if u can show me where. The point Mr, is that there shouldn't be reason for any adjudication on a very clear issue here. I challenge u to try and find out again if there was a new case that made wearing of Hijab acceptable in Kenya. Stop being ignorant and know that there doesn't have to be any court judgment that accept wearing of Hijab in d first place, d issue of Hijab ordinarily shouldn't give u phobia at all if the section of fundamental rights was respected. This is very simple, don't u see?

Oga, you are the one being ignorant. Lawyers have been called to bar for more than 40 years in Nigeria, since 1962. A high percentage of them have been female Muslims. How come none of them decided to wear a hijab under the wig and gown as a practising lawyer? Does the hijab make them more effective in court?

I do not have a phobia for the hijab, as I have extended family members who are Muslims. I respect them wholeheartedly and they in turn, show me a lot of respect. But I do not subscribe to unnecessary controversy or rascality.

Before studying law or entering law school, the girl was aware of the prescribed mode of dressing to court. Kenya is NOT Nigeria. If Kenya legalises same-sex marriage today, does that mean such marriages would automatically be valid in Nigeria? This example is just one of the many that can be cited by several people. undecided

MrAcube:
Let me make this simple for u if u are having trouble understanding it. I want u to ask a legal practitioner to expantiate on human right for u, may be u will begin to understand where an infringement had occurred. And also try and find where, in the law school rule book, wearing of Hijab was prohibited.

Oga, the rule book prescribes approved dress code. It does not list a hijab as part of the approved dress code. If you see anywhere inside the rule book stating that hijab is approved as part of the prescribed dress code for lawyers, please paste it here....

Another piece of advice, try to read the constitution, the section on fundamental human right and u will know this isn't Muslims ranting but the constitution giving directions which ur judicial dads decided to set aside and coming up with their personal rules. Check d picture below

Oga, what are you wailing about? Initially, I did not know Sikhs were allowed to wear turbans in court in the UK. You provided pictures.

Then I went back to check and discovered that they were allowed to do so, because of a court ruling in 2015. So I asked if a similar court ruling existed in Nigeria. Instead of supplying proof like you did before when provided pictures of Sikh lawyers and judges, you now ran to Kenya. Why? Was that the question you were asked? The things which may be permissible in one country, may be illegal in another country (e.g. same-sex marriage).

The Sikh lawyers did not wake up to start wearing turbans as part of their wig and gown, overnight. Unlike what Firdaus wants to do. There was a court ruling backing up their actions. Does Nigeria have similar rulings or laws on ground?
