Matthew 23:23 KJV
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

Jesus was never against tithing....
True. In the same way, the Lord commanded that those who proclaim the gospel should get their living by the gospel.

Romance / Re: My Fiancé Broke Up With Me Because I Refused Him Sex by Vivere: 11:44am On Dec 13, 2017
savvy12:
I have dated him for more than a year.
I met him early last year when my dad was admitted in the hospital.
yeah,I was in relationship with him when I was dating the other guy because I was having some doubts about him.
The primary reason for refusing him sex is because I'm a virgin.I didn't say it here initially cos I know people will call me all sorts of name becos I'm a virgin at 27.
what have I offered him? our relationship was never boring.we discuss everyday and encourage each other.
He said he likes me and plans to marry me.But I told him to wait small.
Please cut all ties with the doctor. Stop dating him. You are not attracted to him, so there is absolutely no reason to continue dating him. He would feel that you were simply leading him on.

As for the Canada guy, ask more detailed questions from him. Doesn't he have family members in Nigeria? What about friends? Investigate his background, until you feel comfortable. There are no guarantees that things would work out between you both. You might meet him in the flesh, and get totally turned off. How is he planning to get his citizenship? Is it by marrying a Canadian citizen or by applying through another route? Ask deep questions and make sure you get correct answers from him. Investigate his claims. If he appears vague, hesitant or shifty, dump him.

Then go out and meet people. Attend conferences, seminars, events and workshops. Let God direct you. You might meet a genuine, honest, attractive, single man that you would end up falling in love with, and could end up marrying.

Let me summarize

I am in my late thirties and single

Nor because I wanted to be , I was engaged, we both flew went to her village for traditional introduction, came back to Lagos went back to work (then was working off shore)
Had to come back suddenly due to an illness drove to her house saw her ex making love to her.

After ,three years of love and agreed no sex till after marriage??

I lost it and today I am a 38 year old well to do single man with trust issues

Moral of this tale?

Never stay with a woman who says no sex till after marriage unless she is a confirmed virgin
Sorry about your situation bro.' But the truth is that your ex-babe would still have cheated on you with her former boyfriend, even if both of you had been involved in a sexual relationship. Truth is that she still had feelings for him and too many unresolved issues existed between them. That was why Okafor's law happened!

Did you read her side of the story before jumping in to type this crap? The guy is secretive, refuses to tell her anything about himself, gets angry when she rejects his money, and only wants to sleep with her. If she was your sister or daughter, would you give her the same advice you just dished out here?? shocked

Jeeez, such a mentality you have!

Good. The main reason for this debate finally rears it's ugly head. Tribalism. cheesy I was beginning to wonder why it was taking so long to expose itself. cheesy I'm done with this deceptive discussion that has ugly layers of tribalism overlayed with a thin veneer of civility.
What is tribalistic about my post? Did I mention anyone's tribe? Why are you seeing things that do not exist? And where is it written in any of the govt guidelines that approval to construct refineries or to refine products is dependent on tribe?? shocked

When people like you run out of valid points, they start playing the victim, and making wild allegations like you have just done. Isn't that why you reached for the tribalism handle and started waving it like a flag??

Licensing has to be available not just for the big players but also for the bit players. Take refineries for example: Multinational oil companies operating in Nigeria and some other firms have licenses to operate refineries but have not used it to establish any. But here a entrepreneurs successfully operating mini refineries and you are discouraging them.
You see, I do not like going back and forth on issues like this, with someone like you who knows next to nothing about such stuff. Pls do your groundwork before deciding to quote me next time.

Name one multinational company that has applied for a refining license and obtained one, without doing anything about it.

Next, name one illegal refiner who has applied for a license and was denied approval.

After you have done your homework, we can take it from there. Until then, I will ignore your ignorant postulations. Thanks.

At present, there is no legal channel for the 'illegal' refiners to go through. None whatsoever. The closest government has come to creating those channels is Vice President Osinbajo's announcement of an intention to licence modular refineries. Since then we have not seen any implementation.

Bros, pls do your research and find out what modular refining is all about. The guidelines to getting a refining license or setting up a modular refinery have all been published and are in public domain. Ask your brothers, the illegal refiners to comply with those guidelines and buy crude from the owners of marginal oil fields, for refining.

Same goes for mining. An article posted here recently by Blue3k quotes Minister for Mines Kayode Fayemi as stating that Nigeria loses billions of dollars from illegal mining. Why not license these guys so they can pay taxes?
Do you know anything about mining in Nigeria? There are the registered miners with licenses etc. These ones use large equipment, get licenses and operate legally.

Then you have the individual artisanal miners or small-scale miners who are subsistence miners. They are not officially employed by any mining company, but rather work independently, mining or panning for gold using their own resources. These ones are not interested in getting licenses or following regulations. They just want to extract the gold and solid minerals, sell it in the black market and pocket the money.

It is like cab drivers. You see the registered ones and the unregistered ones, everywhere. The unregistered ones are those drivers who use their oga's cars to do kabu-kabu simply because they just want the money as quickly as possible, and are not interested in the rules, licenses and regulations.

Don't be so pessimistic. And there is still a large market domestically for refined products, which is not likely to decrease any time soon. All West African countries are also heavily dependent on refined petroleum products and that is not going to change in the short term.

They did not break into anything because they were given licences, access to bank loans, etc., to operate legally from day one, not turned into fugitives for being enterprising.
Good. So you can now see how you have been comparing apples with cocoyams. The shale oil entrepreneurs went through the right channels, before they even started their businesses. Your illegal refiners refused to even go through that route, but decided to break pipelines and steal crude. There is no comparison between both groups.

That Sir, is the purpose of the proposed legalization: to regularize their activities. Licence, regulate and tax them fairly. Any of then that continue illegal activities after fair licencing regime is introduced can then be called thief or whatever you chose to call them. If Nigeria were a Western country, those entrepreneurs would be appreciated not derided.

Go and see how the US is pampering shale oil entrepreneurs and you will know why we are in poverty and recession in this country. You don't discourage your entrepreneurs (they are hard to find). You regulate them.
Did shale oil entrepreneurs break pipelines and steal crude in order to produce their shale oil? Please stop comparing apples with cocoyams.

...conclusion....

I paid the two thousand Naira and waited. The man stamped on the document and wrote on it with red ink. I noticed that he did not write the amount received by the Court on behalf of government, as is the custom. He directed me back to the lady who sent me to him . He said she is the one to take me to the Commissioner for oaths .

I was irritated by the unnecessary back and forth, but I was determined to see the end of it .

I did not bulge. I told him that it was either he gave me the receipt for 2k or I go to the court registrar.

At that point, he went out quietly without a word. I did not know if he went to get the receipt or my money. I looked through the window and saw him outside calling the staff to gather my money. It was then I knew that the loot had already been shared (it was close of work and I was the last customer). They had to send someone to call one of the staff at the gate to bring his part before entering a taxi home.

The oga soon returned to the office with my #2000 and asked for hundred Naira. I gave him #100. They wrote #100 on the affidavit with red ink and gave a receipt reflecting #100. The same receipt they said they didn't have.
#copied

Thank you for having the courage to refuse to accede to their demands, and to insist on seeing the whole thing through to the end. Thank you for not giving in to their extortion. Thank you for foiling their plans to defraud you.

If only more people would stand up for what is right, and expose corrupt practices wherever they find it, a lot of things would change. It could take time, but it would make a difference. The sad thing is that people prefer to just fall in line with the unscrupulous demands made by these corrupt officials, and then they run to social media to lament about how bad the country has become. It is sad....

Buhari legalise the so called 'illegal refineries' and watch Nigerians smile anytime your name is mentioned.
As long as the owners of the so-called illegal refineries pay the prevalent dollar price for the crude they wish to refine, to the govt. They cannot be breaking pipelines to steal crude for refining, and still expect govt to legalise their illegal refineries. They are all thieves.

People forget that Oil has been found in Lagos!

And by the way you dont need to have oil to have a refinery or a tank farm! One person farms cassava and another person somewhere else processes it into garri.

And there is nothing wrong in ND setting up refineries and tank farms. It depends on your priorities and the priorities of those who rule.

I remember GEJ sharing a ND master plan. It was so gorgeous. People were happy. But after 6 years I doubt if 5% of it was achieved! That is why I get dumbfounded when 'his people' defend his government like no man's business on NL.
Wa' sere! God bless you for reminding them about the oil in Lagos. Where is that pained clown that was lamenting about Niger-Delta oil?

Niger-Delta...what? So the oil produced in Ondo State is not part of the total quantity of oil drilled in this country? Ondo State is the 4th largest oil producing state in the nation, and it is located in the Southwest. Try not to kill yourself over this info. It is not only the Niger-Delta that produces oil.

Source: Kingsleyiwu.com.ng

Reverend Dr Uma Ukpai, who is a renowned preacher and the founder of Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association (UUEA) has revealed why the Igbo people lost in the 1967-1970 Civil war, explaining that there were gross immorality among Biafran leaders during the war, KINGSLEYIWU.com.ng exclusively gathered.

72-year-old Dr Uma who made the revelation in a sermon titled: "Father's Blessing" shed tears during the sermon, saying he sometimes ask God why he is an Igbo man. The preacher in the sermon blasted the Igbo people for being arrogant and proud, explaining that even if he preaches till tomorrow, the Igbo man will never shed tears because his heart is hard.

Revd Uma said that during the war, the Biafran leader never seek God for victory and never made any prayers during the war, describing Biafrans as Judah in the bible. He further explained that Judah after committing sin will go back to God for repentance, but the Biafrans never went to God.

The preacher said he would not call names but if he calls, he would tell the congregations the number of women the Biafran leaders were carrying at once during the war, explaining that sometimes, a Biafran Soldier would capture a lady because she is beautiful.

He however went on to commend the Igbo people for being wise, knowledgeable, hardworking, but yet many crawl through life because they fail to acknowledge God.

"And even after the war, no one has asked why we lost the war", Uma Ukpai said.
