jomonic: We should be open for Nigeria of tomorrow. The governor has prerogative of appointments and he gives to whom he chooses based on his approved criteria but it is expected that such appointments should reflect the diversity that has made Lagos so prosperous and cosmopolitan. Take a look at the Igbo who took appointments in Lagos state government. They are Igbo in name only but fully Lagosians. Is Joe Igbokwe not one of them. A man that shoots down anything Igbo. Igbokwe only tells the truth to the Igbo. He calls it as he sees it. You chaps expect him to support any mindless, thoughtless action embarked upon by your people, simply because such an action was created by an Igbo man. Igbokwe always points out the folly in such an action, and your people hate him for that. ![sad](https://www.nairaland.com/faces/sad.png) Instead of debating his points logically, your Igbo chaps choose to insult him and unleash verbal attacks on his person, because he does not toe your line no matter how foolish it is. How does one describe that? 1 Like |

Ojukwu first son is against biafra.
Ugwuanyi is against it.
Obiano is against it.
Ikpeazu is against.
Are the names above familiar with the yoruba people? No is the answer.
All your leaders of thought are against biafra and they supported the fg to unleash a verry big and robust phython on ipob miscreants.
Hold your leaders responsible for the failure of kanu and his miscreants supporters.
Afonjas are not the reason your biafra project failed again. There is something with Biafra and failure, and until you adress that thing you'll continue to fail. Abi, o!! ![cheesy](https://www.nairaland.com/faces/cheesy.png) 3 Likes |

EternalTruths: Igbos must be diamonds in the eyes of the Yorubas for them to vehemently oppose Biafra.
Take away the Igbos and the Yorubas become like their brothers in Togo and Benin
If you doubt me, ask them why they oppose Biafra. May God give you the grace to learn how to tell the truth for once in your life. ![sad](https://www.nairaland.com/faces/sad.png) Who gave you the idea that Igbo are like diamonds in the eyes of the Yoruba? I have never seen a grown up man like you deceiving himself as much as you do. You claim they see you Igbo people as diamond, yet you are still begging them to support your Biafra. If they truly see you as diamonds, why should you be the one begging for their support? Can't you see how illogical your argument sounds?? ![shocked](https://www.nairaland.com/faces/shocked.gif) Just for the record, only captives and powerless people cry for the support of others, like you have been doing.... 3 Likes |

UbanmeUdie: :oMarriage is for better and for worse, In sickness and in health, In wealth and in poverty!
My grandmother used to say "suffer before pleasure".
Let her endure the pains of her marriage. Life is not a bed of roses. One day, if she succeeds in stabbing the husband to death, she would be free.
In order for you not to suffer any curse, it is best you stay far away from issues bothering around your sister's marriage and family.
For, what God has joined together, let no man put asunder.
Your sister now belongs to her husband and not your family anymore by marriage. Are you for real? Do you know how many women ( and even men) have lost their lives to violence at the hand of their spouses? Aren't you aware of that banker that killed his wife after abusing her severally, last year? What about the woman who stabbed her husband to death? Please, if you ever have a daughter that is bring beaten black and blue by her husband, you are free to give her the kind of advise you just posted up here. Do not share the same advice with others, otherwise they would question your sense of judgement! |

life2017: Rubbish post . What about all the best graduating students in over 50 universities in Nigeria,?What about the two Unilag girls who graduated with 5.0 last year when the same Baru was NNPC GMD?
Please throw away this stupid and unnecessary victim mentality.
What of the large number of Nigerians making 5.0 every year in Russia, US and other countries?
The NNPC GMD use his capacity as NNPC GMD to award scholarship to Al Min because he was present in the ABU convocation. This are one off things. It is simply time and chance. This are spontenous decisions base on the feelings of the moment. The CBN Governor Emefiele can chose to do the same so also any DG of an independent government agency. This is not a policy scholarship. But a one off award.
I remember Stella Obasanjo using his office of the First Lady to give financial/scholarship award to the best medical student of University of Benin around 2005/2006. Thank you, o Oga!! I don't know why people are always so eager to put a wrong spin on someone else's gesture! 2 Likes |

omohayek: Which makes it all the more bizarre to hear all the complaining about “heavy” taxes. I wonder how many of those complaining would manage in a typical European country with 20% VAT and top income tax rates of more than 40%! I know they’ll just spout nonsense about how the government should first give them the benefits that will justify the taxes, but how exactly is that supposed to happen without the sort of heavy borrowing people condemn Osun for? In foreign countries, everyone can see what the taxes are used for. Citizens do not have to seek additional funds to provide essential services, which their taxes are expected to cover. In Nigeria, taxation is an additional burden because even after paying those taxes , you do not get the benefits that accrue from paying them, and you still have to find additional funds to provide the same goods and services that should have been funded by your tax. From roads to water to security to almost everything else! That is why people complain about taxes! As an SME, the issue of multiple taxation is so common in Nigeria, that some businesses actually end up collapsing under the weight of such multiple taxes. Govt ignores their pleas and some business owners are left with no choice, but to close shop or relocate. |

Workers have not been paid for months, so PAYE tax could not have been deducted from unpaid salaries. New industries have not been built, new companies have not been opened and new projects have not been commissioned in the state since beginning of this year. So where is the increased IGR coming from?? ![](/faces/huh.png) |

Shebi na una say charity begins at home.... But charity for Ooni, Omisore and Ffk begins in Lagos...hahah
Even ede which has adeleke, oyedepo, adegboye and the rest is even a worse slum...
Only one university will not develop ede...how come their major investments are in Lagos too or did adeleke started from ede?.
I guess charity for them also begins in Lagos...hahah...no mans land.
Like adeleke, ooni and the rest , like Igbo businessmen too leveraging on the advantages of investing in Lagos as to investing in other places in Nigeria... Alright, it is a slum. In fact, every town, village and city in the SW is a slum. Yet, your people rush into the SW, not just Lagos every single day. Go to every motor park in the SW, and you would see them trooping in. Why do they love our slums so much?? Why can't they stay within their own slums in the SE, if their own place is such a paradise? Tell us. 2 Likes |
