Where are your videos of IPOB using the said objects on your armed military that went to massacred unarmed agitators asking for referendum in south east?

Please can you backup your accusations against IPOB stoning at Buhari's military action against unarmed civilians and agitators in south east with the exact spots IPOB were throwing these said objects?

Was the palace they bombed blocking them too?

Why would the army even vaccinate little children particularly without the notice and consent of their parents/guardians? In all your growing years in Nigeria, has the army ever vaccinated children? Is that a usual part of their medical outreaches? Why were parents not notified? DO they have the history of the children for possible allergies/reactions to the content of said vaccines? Why now and why the East despite glaring humanitarian crises in the war-torn, disease-ridden North?

Go back and read the story again. The Army had not started the vaccinations. They were actually seeking consent from the schools and parents, by notifying them of the vaccination programme in order to get their support. Instead of providing consent sought by the Army, the parents took their children and fled. Please provide any info from any parent who said his children were vaccinated without his consent!

The Army has participated in vaccination programmes in IDP camps and a few areas in the North, in the past. They conduct medical outreaches regularly in various parts of the country. Till today, the Army hospital in various communities remains the only source of medical care in many places. I have received good quality treatment at subsidised rates at an Army hospital before.

Nigeria as country and their Army are demonic... they have the demonic heart to kill another million of children tru bio weapon.

Then people like you would still find a way to blame Kanu or Kaduna Nzogwu

You went to school. You know that accusations such as the one made against the Army needs to be backed by proof, before it can make sense to observers. Why would the army want to inject little kids with something toxic, under the guise of administering a vaccine? It doesn't make sense. Where is the proof,?

Politics / Re: Army Vaccination In South East: Medical Perspective And Ethics by Vivere: 10:45am On Oct 12, 2017
Mcowubaba:
I will try and be brief as possible, |I just want to bring to the knowledge of my fellow Nigerians, about this recent issue about Children running away from the Military, though I am an Igbo man, but I will try to be unbiased as possible.

I am writing this based on my personal experience and academic background in Health and Medical practice, now the issue of Immunization/Vaccination is a very serious issue, a great deal of training and knowledge is required to administer a Vaccine to a patient or to even design the program.
I have been involved directly with WHO,FHI 360, Ministry of Health both Federal, State and Primary health centers {this is not bragging, I am just saying this, so you guys will know I am talking based on strong Empirical knowledge}

In Nigeria, to the best of my knowledge, Immunization Programs is 'mostly' coordinated by the Federal Ministry of Health, NOT any Medical council or group of Doctors, you will be shocked to know that Doctors don't really have much to do with immunization on a normal day (but here in Nigeria, our dear Doctors don't stay on their lane, the want to be involved in everything that has to do with health wink the will soon start doing X-rays I no talk oo), a medical Doctor is trained to CURE, TREAT/MANAGE Illness and sickness, while Vaccination/immunization is a branch of medicine which focuses on PREVENTING/PREVENTION of diseases.

Curing and Preventing disease are two different things, The field of medicine that has to do with Preventing disease (Vaccination), intervention are Public Health, Epidemiology, medical laboratory scientist, Microbiologist, Biochemistry, parasitology, etc.
Though Medical doctors are also slightly involved, because in the field of Medicine, everybody is involved

I just said, I should give a brief background about people responsible for vaccination so you people can have a better view about this. Now before you start vaccination, there must be mass media awareness detailing your program, target population and the benefits of your program/expected results.

A lot of advocacy visits has to be done with Community leaders, Religious leaders, Parents, Teachers (depending on your target population),
Even after this, you MUST seek consent of the Parents /guardian, before administering any drug, vaccine to a child below 18 years, unless in EMERGENCY situations, now the Operation Python dance II was more or less a Violent exercise, it did not go as planned (though we never knew the army's original plan wink), but let us assume the never intended to go into any altercations with the Indigenous People of Biafra, it still started off in chaos, which overshadowed the goodwill of the program, I am not here to apportion blames on either the Military or IPOB, let's leave that aside.

Now the perception an average South East resident has of the Operation Python dance by the Nigerian Military, is that the are/were fighting IPOB members. Not that the are doing medical exercise undecided
Remember it was this exercise that made the Federal Government label IPOB as a terrorist group like ISIS grin..

So, you cannot finish all this and start coming to primary schools without parents consent or media awareness, to start administering Vaccines Come on naaa undecided undecided, in a tensed up region lipsrsealed

This is not about Brain washing or Gullibility, let me tell you my personal experience, many years ago, I supervised a Team of health workers who were administering OPV (Oral Polio Vaccine), the had issues with non-compliance, even after all the Mass media awareness/campaigns and advocacy visits we did, during the program, when the health workers went to seek the parent's consent, some bluntly refused, we had to employ the use of incentives, even at that, few Parents still refused, THIS was in the SOUTHERN part of Nigeria NOT the northern part, it was tensed up, it was done by bloody civilians like me cool , I cannot give more details due to confidentiality and ethical consideration.

In immunization programs there are key indicators which are used to monitor the overall effectiveness of the program, the are
R-Re-visit
RX-non-compliance
N- Non eligible
then good symbol, which denotes there was total compliance
there are other indicators, but let me leave it at this..

I believe Nigerian Military made a great mistake in going to schools or anywhere in the South East to start any vaccination or medical program without serious media awareness, advocacy visit.

lalasticlala
Thank you! This is the most sensible post I have read on this topic for a long time. Too much hysteria and propaganda has littered the social media space, concerning this issue.

The Igbo were NOT forced out. So kindly stop the semantics. You know very well that pressure was put on Ojukwu to drop his secessionist plans. If they wanted to force the Igbo out, Ojukwu would have been allowed to go away without any form of hindrance. And yes, Gowon still released Awolowo. Evidence abounds to that effect, unless you can post a screenshot or relevant documents showing minutes of the meeting that Ironsi had with the SMC where the decision to release Awo was made. The Igbo were never even forced out. They were forced inwards - forced to remain within Nigeria, so even if Awo made that promise, it was rendered invalid by the subsequent events that unfolded. That is the truth they do not want to hear.

And which "Yoruba" were ready to support Ojukwu' liberation force? Was that before or after Ojukwu's biafran babes had dropped bombs in lagos killing the same "yaribas" in yaba and apapa area? Initially (August 9th 1967), Biafran plane dropped "warning bombs"-leaflets in ikeja and palmgrove areas “calling on the people to overthrow Gowon’s government and the Hausa imperialists.” However the following week, seeing that the people failed to his bait, Ojukwu dropped real bombs killing innocent "Yoruba" residents in yaba and its environs.

As for the agbekoya uprisings- that had nothing whatsoever to do with Ojukwu's BLF. Among other issues they rebelled against, the high fixed tax rate of $8 in western region of nigeria was their main grouse with officials of that region in particular and nothing to do with the federal govt of gowon (hence the slogan "oke mefa laosan-We are only paying 30 shillings!"wink and which Awo was able to quell with some negotiation. Your usual obfuscation tactic, am afraid will not work here, oga dede.

The bottom line is that Ojukwu sent Banjo (as a Trojan horse) on a "mission impossible" to wrought havoc on his ancestral land which Banjo must have taken cognizance of, hence his attempt to seek safe passage through yorubaland which necessitate the delay. Ojukwu simply had the man killed 'cause his gamble failed and he needed a fall guy for his gross military incompetence. There was no way Ojukwu ill-equipped rag-tag liberation front could have taken lagos and hang on to it when even his rear axis -the mid-west region was still been harangued by ogbemudia's resistance force.

In fact, the whole excursion was a futile attempt by ojukwu and a sheer waste of vital human resources.
Thank you!! Please join me for drinks, next time you are in my city. You deserve a great reward for speaking the truth, in such a clear and analytical manner. May you live long.

I am still wondering why the army will be administering vaccines to children in a region where there is no mass outbreak of communicable diseases.

The most ridiculous part is that even UNICEF data shows Southeast is a region leading the north in immunization coverage ! Doesn't common sense dictate that you go to areas where there is poor immunization coverage for such exercises ? Why go to an area with almost 100% immunization coverage?

View this whole sordid activity against the backdrop of the hate speeches made by this administration against the Igbos as recently as October 1st this year. Not to mention the removal of the region from any infrastructural development agenda of the Buhari regime and purging of the military of Igbo officers and men. Let us even forget about the extra judicial executions, sudden disappearances of people kidnapped at night by military since their python dance II started.

This all reveals the sinister intentions behind the evil plot to suddenly "vaccinate" children against some monkey pox or some farse. They are out to cleanse their hated "enemies" using chemicals and viruses instead of bullets. Of course, starting with the little children who cannot resist.

I can only imagine their next move now that this plot has been exposed.
Do you have proof that the vaccines being offered are lethal? Be truthful for once. Such spurious allegations such as yours' need to be proven. What lab verified that those vaccines were toxic? Several professors, chemical scientists and lab technologists exist in the South east that can easily verify this. And none of them has conducted any research to show that the vaccines are polluted, toxic or lethal to the human body.

You don't need google for something black and white like this.
Why can't people ever THINK for themselves. Any paper can be manufactured by anybody. Use your God-given COMMON SENSE! Awo wrote Ironsi a long letter asking for.his release. These things take time. The SMC finally authorised his release just before Ironsi was killed. By the time Gowon came in his release was akready a fait accompli but couldn't have happened without Ojukwu's acquiescence.

THINK! How can you have a coup on July 29 and, amidst the evolving coup , by Aug 2nd have completed all the meetings and legwork needed to release a major someone imprisoned in the only part of the country where the coup did not.succeed?! THINK!

READ AGAIN:
Awolowo's letter is rather self-explanatory. Emissaries sent to him to Calabar arrived Calabar with a plane on July 27, 1966. The SMC wanted him in Lagos on July 29. In the early mornings of July 29, Ironsi and Fajuyi were murdered in Ibadan by a coup in which Gowon was very active. On the day that Ironsi was supposed to make the announcement publicly in the gala planned for his final day in Ibadan as a gesture of goodwill to the West, he was killed. The crucial point to note here from Awo's diary is that

(a) his release was already final. A plane had been sent to him to leave Calabar to Lagos. He did not leave because it was a one-engine plane and he just did not like the idea of traveling in that plane.

(b) Having been released, a second declaration of release was no longer necessary by Gowon because the papers releasing him had been signed and sealed and effected. The only person who could stop further action on that release document in the circumstance was the Eastern Regional governor (OJUKWU) whose authority was required to effect the wishes of the Federal government.
It is as simple as that. If Gowon issued an order in that regard, Emeka Ojukwu would have very clearly and deliberately ignored it to fully press the point that he was under no obligation to heed Gowon's authority and Chief Awolowo would not have been released. He would most likely have ended up in the East, like Banjo and co during the war all of whom were released by Ojukwu's orders.

... As at August 3 1966, with a coup in evolution which had not succeeded in the East, the laws of the federation ceased to exist in the East. The only laws that existed in areas under Ojukwu's command were the emergency laws that he assumed. No tributes, declarations or orders by any other authority outside of the East under any guise of law could be enforced in the East. Basically, Nigeria temporarily ceased to exist.

No need for long story. The facts are in public domain. No matter how much you try to peddle false info. Oga, the paper of release was signed by Gowon. Why do you like repeating and rehashing propaganda so much?

I knew Kachikwu’s claims couldn’t be true, says David-West | Posted By: Bisi Oladele | October 11, 2017

A former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Prof. Tam David-West, has described the response of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to Minister of State (Petroleum), Ibe Kachikwu’s allegation as a relief, saying it confirmed his thinking that the allegations could not have been true.

David-West, who spoke with our reporter in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital yesterday, said he had refrained from commenting on NNPC for many years, until he read the corporation’s response to the minister’s allegations.

According to him, Kachikwu’s claims on $25 billion contracts could not have been true, given the strict rules guiding such at the NNPC.

He said: “On reading Kachikwu’s letter, I was flabbergasted that something like that could ever happen. If it is the NNPC that I know, I can’t believe that all those things could have happened. The rules of lifting oil are so strict that when I read his letter, I could not believe my eyes.

“To lift oil within Nigeria, you must be a corporate organisation or a country. If it is a corporate organisation, you must have a minimum of 20 staff and have a refinery. If it is a country, it must also have a refinery. The organisation must also submit audited financial report of three consecutive years and deposit a non-refundable fund of $1.5 million. This sum was originally levied in Naira but we changed it in 1984 when exchange rate was $1.5 to N1. But now, it has been reduced and this has brought more organisations into the business. In fact, about 40 organisations now lift Nigerian oil as if they are buying palm oil.

“With those strict conditions, it baffled me to read what Kachikwu wrote.

“Again, oil contracts are not discussed at either NNPC board meetings or Federal Executive Council meetings to avoid slowing down decision-making process. The corporation has its own tenders board though the basic rules have been updated over time. I was surprised that Kachikwu’s letter was also leaked to the press because it was an embarrassment to the President. Definitely, something fundamental is wrong somewhere. The letter could not have been leaked by the Presidency, because it was an embarrassment to the President. It could also not have been leaked by Maikanti Baru, because it would have been an indictment on him.

“So, I was relieved on reading NNPC’s response. It confirmed that things have not gone so bad as Kachikwu portrayed it in his letter. As a matter of fact, if the content of the letter were true, it would scare players in the oil industry away from Nigeria.

“Some people also said that the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) would have prevented that kind of situation if it had been passed. That is not correct. The PIB is not the solution to the problem in the Nigerian oil industry. In fact, if passed the way it is, it can destroy the industry. I have read it. It is not a serious bill. It has only 40 words. If they don’t look at it carefully before passing it, it can destroy the industry.”

Explorers:
Those days of letter writing, sending the younger brothers to deliver the letters.

The box full of love letters underneath your bed is now the texts you will never delete, even when your storage gets crazy full.

Sneaking around the girl’s house with your best baggy jean and over size tshirt, roaming the street, hoping she will come out to grind pepper or buy maggi.

Ewelewe.... I remember this one, o! As young as I was then, (about 7 or 8 years old) I acted as messenger of love for my aunties and uncles. They would write letters, spray it with perfume and give it to me to go and deliver to their crush, in those days. I was to give it directly to the person and nobody else. One day, I made the mistake of dropping the letter at the door of the girl my uncle was seeing, when I went to their house. I was eager to rush back home and watch my cartoons. Unfortunately, that letter was picked up by her father. When the man stormed our house the following day, ehn....no be small thing, o! shocked Anyway, the long & short of it was that I was so badly dealt with, that I couldn't sit down for 2 days! cry
