@ Lagosshia - My answer to you: Luke 13:28 " There will be weeping there, and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves thrown out. " Your purpose of starting this thread is to "espouse" your beliefs. You are aware of the bible and christianity but hold fast to your belief. Good luck to you. |

cultey: " There will be weeping there, and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves thrown out. " Well, disbelievers may get their answer then. Though their souls may be lost for all eternity at that time. |

I just saw this on Twitter, note the use of caps are from the article. http://homeland.house.gov/sites/homeland.house.gov/files/Boko%20Haram-%20Emerging%20Threat%20to%20the%20US%20Homeland.pdf Extracts below: FINDINGS: 1. BOKO HARAM HAS QUICKLY EVOLVED AND POSES AN EMERGING THREAT TO U.S. INTERESTS AND THE U.S. HOMELAND. 2. BOKO HARAM HAS THE INTENT AND MAY BE DEVELOPING CAPABILITY TO COORDINATE ON A RHETORICAL AND OPERATIONAL LEVEL WITH AL QAEDA IN THE LANDS OF THE ISLAMIC MAGHREB (AQIM) AND AL SHABAAB. 3. BOKO HARAM’S EVOLUTION IN TARGETING AND TACTICS CLOSELY TRACKS THAT OF OTHER AL QAEDA AFFILIATES THAT HAVE TARGETED THE U.S. HOMELAND, MOST NOTABLY AL QAEDA IN THE ARABIAN PENINSULA (AQAP) AND TEHRIK-I-TALIBAN PAKISTAN (TTP). 4. THE U.S. INTELLIGENCE COMMUNITY LARGELY UNDERESTIMATED THE POTENTIAL FOR AL QAEDA AFFILIATE GROUPS TO TARGET THE U.S. HOMELAND, WRONGLY ASSESSING THEY HAD ONLY REGIONAL AMBITIONS AND THREATS AGAINST THE U.S. HOMELAND WERE MERELY “ASPIRATIONAL.” 5. THE UNITED STATES SHOULD WORK WITH THE GOVERNMENT OF NIGERIA TO BUILD COUNTERTERRORISM AND INTELLIGENCE CAPABILITY TO EFFECTIVELY COUNTER BOKO HARAM Boots on the ground:? INCREASE U.S. INTELLIGENCE COMMUNITY COLLECTION ON BOKO HARAM: The U.S. Intelligence Community must increase its intelligence collection on Boko Haram, including human intelligence (HUMINT) and signals intelligence (SIGINT). It must also enhance its liaison relationship with Nigerian security services and help build their capacity to combat the threat posed by Boko Haram to Nigerian and U.S. interests. |

Q) Can a virgin today get pregnant and give birth without sex? Ans) Yes she can with In vitro fertilisation (IVF). IF one is religious and thus believes in a higher being that is supreme with knowledge surpassing mankind, then surely such a supreme being should be capable of synthesising a human fertilised egg and implanting it into a human being. Now to the question at hand. It is probably difficult with modern science and knowledge to prove Jesus is the son of God. Other than written documents and other information passed down the centuries and the Faith of believers there is no sure way. We live by Faith and not by Sight. The only way to know "for sure" as far as I can tell is currently to ask the question again in the "afterlife". If you die and there is no "afterlife" for you then the question becomes irrelevant for you. |

Source: http://saharareporters.com/news-page/code-conduct-tribunal-dismisses-charges-against-former-lagos-governor-bola-tinubu The corruption trial based on illegal operation of foreign accounts brought against the former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, collapsed today before the Code of Conduct Tribunal sitting Abuja. The former governor was arraigned last September at the tribunal over allegations that he operated 10 foreign accounts during his term in office as Lagos state governor between 1999 and 2007. Before dismissing the charges the tribunal firmly dismissed Tinubu's lawyers challenge of its jurisdiction. However, the three man tribunal dismissed the charges because it claimed the charges presented by the prosecution was defective and shoddy. |

Most Yoruba names are shortened from phrases, My Yoruba is poor as well but here goes: Dawodu could be "Eni ti a da wo du, " which I think means the person we first saw a lot of. "Wo" means "to see or look after" Same way "Eni ti a e wo" : Taiwo |

Dawodu in Yoruba has a meaning and normally refers to the eldest son. No good online sources other than Wikipedia. But you can find a reference to Dawodu in this Nigerian Supreme court case. http://www.nigeria-law.org/Alhaja%20Suara%20Yusuff%20%20v%20%20Mrs%20Yetunde%20Dada%20&%203%20Ors.htm "being the eldest surviving son is the Dawodu and head of late Chief J. O. Laniyonu family under native law and custom." Search for the name "Dawodu" in the above link. |

Ngodigha1: ^^^^^ The ability to read, comprehend and demonstrate understanding is lost on a lot of our youth. The above comment is a clear example of this. The poster did not bother to read the article or if "it" did read the article, "it" was unable to understand the article's content. I do not blame the poster as I am sure if "it" had gone to a better educational system, "it" would have understood that no one is talking about forcing "Yoruba language" down anybody's throat. The emphasis was on improving the educational system in the area (ie subjects typically are Math, English, Sciences). In addition, the article did not say other inhabitants (ie non-Yoruba) of these states would be discriminated against. This is how "silly" threads reach 31 pages when "tribal" wars start. |

Good show, let's get things moving again. Our education system is getting worse and the decline needs to be stopped. |

Ojukwu is dead, he was a great man. Love him or hate him, he has left a page on the history of Nigeria with his passing away noted locally and internationally. Whether you are tribalist or not, when you pass away try to do something (good hopefully) for your people so they will remember you. RIP Ikemba Ojukwu. |

Why does the Biafra Flag look like the Libyan flag? I know the Libya flag is from 1951 and reinstated in 2011, but I am curious to know if there is a reason for the similarities.

France loans Nigeria $100 million for buses in Lagos Surely Tinubu,IBB, David Mark, Atiku, Alaiye or OBJ could have funded this - do we need more debt? http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/11/france-loans-nigeria-100-million-for-buses/ PARIS (AFP) – France will loan Nigeria $100 million to set up? a bus network in its sprawling commercial capital Lagos, the foreign ministry said Friday during a visit by Nigeria’s President Goodluck Jonathan. “In coordination with Nigerian authorities, the French development agency, on the ground since 2008, has made urban development one of its operational priorities in this country,” a statement said. France said the loan would be made to the Nigerian federal government but then passed to Lagos State. It will help fund the city’s new $330 million urban transport plan, which is cofinanced by the World Bank. Lagos is sub-Saharan Africa’s greatest metropolis and the commercial hub of Africa’s oil-exporting largest nation, but its public infrastructure struggles to cope with its vast population. Jonathan and his finance minister former World Bank managing director Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala are on a working visit to Paris to drum up trade and investment from France, which has growing oil interests in Nigerian fields. |
