The saints have died and have gone up to heaven.

The way and manner of their death has nullify their sins.

They are called...

Go and read your bible and check how Christ dead, how peter dead, how the Apostles dead and how some christians will eventually die.

The living souls are not regreting... Where they are now, they never wish to come back to earth.
Why don't you commit suicide and join them?

1.What it means to be filled with the Holy Spirit.
2.Examples of people that were filled. With the Holy Spirit.
3.How to be filled with the Holy Spirit.
Just these three topics, and you are....you are handling #3?

Also the only thing that worries me is that he is the only preacher I know with that type of level of prophecy and power.

Are we all doing something wrong? That no matter how we give up staff we simply can't get where the dude is. Even pastors flock to him as they have bondages that NONE of them can fix.

So if any of that's people never went to him freedom would never have come?

That scares me.

Sir, looking it at the guy hedge there seems not difference, but the latter has higher magnitude than the former.

The filling of the Holy is the initial experience every believer in Christ has the day he/she became born again, that is; the power to become sons of God, at that we have a conviction of righteousness (sense of doing right and to overcome sin and self).

But at the moment of Holy Ghost Baptism ....
I find the subject highly ambiguous or as you said highly related.
May be eniigmar would do well to list all the topics to be discussed so we don't stray into another man's domain

You can't be serious. Let me repeat myself.

The universe had a beginning. What this beginning was, no human knows for sure. I don't know doesn't equate to "we came from NOTHING." There are many speculations, however.

That's the position of the atheist.

The theist position is that he KNOWS what this beginning was because the thing commissioned a book and even SPEAKS to him today.

When atheists say there is no god, it doesn't mean that the universe didn't have a beginning. It doesn't mean that we came from NOTHING. Those are examples of a non sequitur.

If you're talking to the beginning of the universe somehow and you can't prove that a conversation with this thing occurred, then you are telling lies about an imaginary creature.

You are tying yourself in knots.
The difference between theists and atheists is not whether the universe had a beginning, but HOW it began. We all know it had a beginning.Perhaps you are ignorant of naturalism as well, in which case I will gladly educate you.
The 'logician' atheist insists EVERYTHING started from NOTHING in and of itself. Please don't reply before you go through this. Ignorance is expensive!

And the Point I'm making is: If the commandments were for Isreal who had hearts of stone and not for Christians with circumcised hearts of flesh, why then do you insist that the divorce permission, whether of Moses, or from God to Moses, applies to the christian?
Because Jesus spoke about divorce as well!

1. God hates divorce
2. The only ground for divorce is adultery

This means God despite hating it, He permits it under such stringent circumstances that the disciples thought they may as well not marry!

You need to stop CONFUSING concession with promotion. God permitting divorce does not mean He encourages it

As for me as a logical person (and a lot of atheist I know), I don't know the origin of the universe. God is not a logical answer!

Thank you. You plead IGNORANCE of the origin of the universe. So the theist does not know the origin of God while the atheist does not know the origin of the universe. Both have to approach life with presuppositions, right?

He said maximum of 10minutes because its 3 of us that are going to present (on diferent topics) that day.
Ten minutes?
That is a bit on the lower side if you ask me.
Any message usually requires key definition of terms and in your case, you will need to define baptism of the Holy Spirit(BOHS). A subtopic here would be what it is NOT. Next is the value or purpose of BOHS. After this is candidacy for BOHS. Next is how to receive BOHS, and may be finally hindrances to BOHS

In point form
1. What is BOHS? What BOHS is NOT
2. What is the purpose of BOHS?
3. Who can receive BOHS? Who can't ?
4. How to receive BOHS
5. Hindrances to BOHS

Five points, each takes a maximum 2 minutes. Whatever you do on these points,my ou need to pray and rehearse privately to see how long it takes to deliver them. This ensures you don't dwell on any point for longer than necessary at the expense of the rest. Many believers imagine that Holy Spirit will be your time manager. That is being naive. Rehearsing as you pray helps you to summarize your points.

When in such time constraints, you may not have time to read scriptures, but you will need to quote them. So what you do is , all the relevant scriptures you wish to share with your audience must be memorized at least 80%. This saves you time you'd spend dashing to your bible, reading out aloud and continuing with your point.

If you notice, I haven't shared any scriptures yet, I'm just preparing you with the basics of a sermon delivery especially a quick one.

Something else. Make very clear notes and save them somewhere. You may wish to share with your audience the notes afterwards so they may go through what you skipped or you quickly went over.

Where do prayers come in?
I have seen God give me concentrated/condensed statements that communicate so much in the fewest words. Only God does this without diluting His word

The issue about divorce, separation and marriage is straightforward from God end but it gets complicated when it comes to enforcing exactly what God has said.
Maybe on a more neutral thread without stepping on nerve(biblical marital issues are nervy) but one clue is a study on Paul teaching on marriage, celibacy, separation, divorce
It is a good insight!

Nope, the sub-issue here is who between Moses and YHWH permitted divorce.

Once again, who in your opinion permitted divorce?

I'll point out just two...

The writer wrote the familiar argument that something can ever come out nothing, yet failed to apply the question to God. From whence came God?

Let's dwell on this for now.
We can't explain where God came from. Ho does this help the scientific enigma of everything starting from nothing?

What do you mean by the bolded? Pls Explain.
The ten were written by the finger of God

Exodus 31:18 (KJV)
And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.

Exodus 32:15-16 (KJV)
And Moses turned, and went down from the mount, and the two tables of the testimony were in his hand: the tables were written on both their sides; on the one side and on the other were they written. 16 And the tables were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, graven upon the tables.

Of course later they were copied into Torah

Point is 'Moses wrote' does not mean Moses invented some laws and imposed them. He wrote what he was instructed by YHWH to write, commanded what he was commanded, gave what he was given

Good evening everyone.

Thanks for the posts and comments.

Would like to share a few thoughts on the topic at hand :tithing.

First of all, appreciation to Vooks for his comments, and to analice107 and temi4fash for their testimonies.

Let me state right on that I'm neither for nor against tithing. My wish is to exhume the principles for our benefit.

Let's go back to the beginings - the book of Genesis.

There, we see Abraham give a tenth of all to a man called Melchisedek.

There is no record of any instruction to do so. So Abraham who is the father of both the old and new convenant people gave a tithe w/out an instruction to do so.

Why did Abraham do so? Beacause he traced his wealth to God. God reaponded by saying that He (God) is Abraham's shield and exceeding great reward.

To the king of sodom, Abraham replied he had ascribed all his wealth to God and not give man the opportunity to that claim.

So we see a principle that God wants first claim for your provision and not any man or your own ability.

Next in the law, God says the first of everything is His. Some may be redeemed for money and others given (sacrificed) like that.

We all know that God doesn't desire sacrifice but rather obedience.

All God desired was honour as the source of provision for everything.

And in turn, God promises to make provision abundant.

Now remember,

A law of earth is seed time and harvest.

Another is that a man is made right by believing with the heart.

And yet another, that a good man, out of the good treasure in his heart brings out good things.

Remember, God does not change, His basis of dealing with humans (i. e. Convenants) has changed; however, He himself does not change neither does His laws nor that of earth.

Did you notice that God gave them a means to engage all those laws in a convenient way.

First of all, He is acknowledged as source, that immediately sets apart all as belonging to Him (i. e. holy).

Secondly, you believe that you have given to God, in your heart (thinking, belief system) you are certain you have done the right thing. You are right with God on that account as pertaining.

Thirdly, you engage the law of sowing and reaping. You've invested, you'll surely receive a reward.

Fourth, also the law of faith. You believed in your heart that God has promised abundant provision for you, you expect it and you say so both conciously and unconciously.

Another benefit is provision of resources for the church establisment to function.

Principles remember.

As one who believes on Jesus, He has paid the ultimate price for sins and curses. So no curses for not obeying that law.

NO CURSES FOR NOT DOING SO.

However, you're still not engaging the laws, so you do not reap the benefits either!

Yes, the bible promises to prosper and bless you, and to provide for your needs. True! And God does do so.

And one of the most important ways is by providing revelation /information /light! You’re what you know.

He teaches/reveals the laws and principles so you can use them to your (and His) profit.

When you used your faith for healing, you realized that it went beyond wishing /hoping /praying.
You had to stand on a certainty and act accordingly. It is revelation acted on that caused the result to manifest.

There is a parallel in finances.

This writeup is not to perauade you either way. It is just to focus your attention on the principles at work so that you can re-create the results at your wish.

Remember, Moses knew God's ways, same as Caleb and Joshua. They knew to mix faith with what God said. They meditated on His Words.

The Isrealites did not know/do so. When the pressure was on, they fell off.

God did not give them an excuse because He expected them to know.

Hope this enlightens.

Bright.

Thank you Brightekhibise,
Just to clarify, I have no problem with supporting ministry, in fact I do it regularly because this is the will of God. It is a commandment, only God never stipulates how much. Just like fellowship. We are commanded not to neglect gatherings but we are not commanded to meet on any particular day.

Under the old covenant, there were some mandatory offerings such as sin offerings tithes, firstfruits and so forth and also Freewill offerings. But under NT, all giving is Freewill, or what I call Grace giving perfectly captured in this verse;
2 Corinthians 9:7 (KJV)
Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

2 Corinthians 9:7 (AMP)
7 Let each one [give] as he has made up his own mind and purposed in his heart, not reluctantly or sorrowfully or under compulsion, for God loves (Hetakes pleasure in, prizes above other things, and is unwilling to abandon or to do without) a cheerful (joyous, “prompt to do it” ) giver [whose heart is in his giving].

I can't reconcile these verses with the tithing as taught. God can't demand from you a specific amount and at the same time require you to purpose in your heart how much to give.

Another thing I find in modern tithing as taught is that it COMMODIFIES God's instructions. Many give BECAUSE of the promised returns. This is why testimonies of miracles abound. These are incentives or inducements to tithing. But we should support ministry regardless of our material returns. I believe we should be compelled by the very fact that it is a command, as well as the fact that we can see its benefits; souls turning to Christ.

Ever read of this verse in Malachi?

Malachi 1:11 (KJV)
For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same
my name shall be great among the Gentiles;
and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering:
for my name shall be great among the heathen, saith the Lord of hosts.

My goal in giving is to see the name of the Lord mentioned among gentiles(unbelievers). This is not to mean that I'm not ambitious or desirous of wealth. On the contrary, I rack my brains all day trying to move to the next level of material prosperity.

But while at it, my heart's desire is that I may be found faithful in my stewardship of all the Lord has entrusted me. May the Lord find us faithful stewards
