My spouse falls into this category and i will tell you i have no regrets .If i was to go back and make a choice once more , i will still pick her again and again. Our marriage is blessed with two boys and she is on the verge of going back to school as an undergraduate. take your chance ,
Politics / Re: SSS Probes Buhari's Campaign Speeches Over Poll Violence by walkenz: 11:25pm On Oct 18, 2011
Most of the campaigns speeches Buhari had in the north were in the native language of Hausa where he emphasized the need for the electorate to protect their votes. These created a row even before the election went underway as the ruling party felt that this was a threat to security during the polls. I remember interviews with reuben abati while on neutral front on channels tv saying theirs nothing wrong with electorate guarding votes. This prompted the INEC chief to comment and also gave a clean bill to this adding that it must be 300 metres from the ballot box.
Its unfortunate when we all forget how these thing emanated and point only one finger at someone and ignore the four pointing back at us.Coming from events of the past and now to the unfolding events .If everything jonathan has said is anything to go by, he is eager to end all the violence and be able to concentrate on making the lifes of the electorate worse off-implying he cant touch buhari.Mind you ,they have already started with the removal of the subsidy,

sia1 made a couple of mistakes , these include fielding unfit players (i.e osaze),not starting in form players(i.e musa),phony changes (ehiosun for joel),hasty third change, but we should not axe him as he brought some sense of discipline to the team which prior to now had no respect for indegineous coaches.

nsiadi:

Some ppl dont know that Nigeria is not an Islamic country
If anybody wants to introduce any funny thing that will divide us the more 1st let those guys work on our constitution

We have enough money in our country, Pecuniary gains from Islamic banks cant fix our problems
The crooks up-North who have refused to educate the Youths are our major head ache, Let those Youths there turn their guns to the right target

Its not proper to force religion down the throat of others
Sanusi shd focus on how to stem the slide of Naira & not on establishing hotels & harping on useless ideas. The Senate / House shd tame him

institutions have been created by christians and nobody has raised any eyebrow, do you know why?its simple , because as a secular state you have the right of association. This case of islamic banking is not any different. Afteral the conventinal banks remain

deli.cious:

The CBN should concentrate on the weakening value of the naira -and stop instigating the public against one another over this islamic bank thing.

Nigeria is a complex society, don't make it any more complex.

That's how sharia was allowed to start-even though majority of the public was against it. This is a nation with a constitution, a nation with different religious backgrounds. Why are there arabic writings and symbols on the national currency? Why was sharia allowed-which in essence is what has given birth to terrorism in the north.

I'm indifferent about the Islamic banking thing, i just dont understand why Lamido, the CBN Head is so fanatic about it seeing it come to fruition.
I DISAGREE when you say you are indifferent because indifference can only mean you dont anything wrong with it but your follow up statement does not help in that regard.Always try to understand concepts and their origins before jumping into conclusion.SHARIAH LAW is what gave birth to islamic banking .
Politics / Re: Islamic Banking: Christian Group Calls For Bakare's Suspension From Can by walkenz: 3:30pm On Jul 27, 2011
nigerhead:

Young educated Nigerians refusing to use their brains to think, why not just call it non-interest banking or something, why should it be called Islamic Banking , when we all know the inherent dynamics of the contraption called "Nigeria".

How many people in the south use or used the "Bank of The North" (I dont know if its still operating), I could have sworn I didnt even know there was a "Bank Of The North" as at 2006/7 until I saw the cheque book with a colleague from the North. Now you are saying Islamic Banking? what do you expect people from down south to now think about the whole idea.

Its a bad idea to bring "Islamic Banking" with the going on's in our present socio-politcal environment. End Of Story.

A lot has been said about this issue and it does not seem like its going to go away anytime soon, why? because our differences  will not go away soon either- the truth is whether we like it or not and as long as we choose to remain one entity we will have to learn to accomodate and  appreciate our diversities and differences.Islamic banking is a way of life of every muslim wherever he happens to be or live and because you are not a muslim you attaching sentiments to the issue will not help but make an effort to understand the tenets so as to appreciate why it has come to stay.
Business / Re: N150,000 Withdrawal Limit: Court Can’t Stop Me, Says Sanusi by walkenz: 5:08pm On Jul 13, 2011
aikuda:

Sanusi maybe right, though. I don't think the courts have the power to reverse this policy so long as it is not causing undue hardship. I also don't think is bad idea. I just think the amount maybe too small for many businesses and the time frame maybe too short. As some said, we need education of the people on this issue.
some say we need some things to be in place before is, i disagree because some of these things we have waiteed for for decades now.if first thngs dont come first let last things be first. The hard way the only way

basadenet:

Sanusi was appointed for a purpose, so he must act accord to their script The guy behaves as if he has all answers to Nigeria's problems, he should be removed without delay before he cause religious wahala in the country.

Before Sanusi, NIGERIA has was divided along tribal and religious bounds . Do not put it on him. What is important is to know that drastic measures need to be taken to uplift the standard of the nigerian economy . No one is saying they are not going to be unpleasant at first but if you check the positives , its a path that is inevitable.
