Children of Hate and Venom.
I greet you all. May you continue to hate on Biafrans.
Law of Karma is no joke.
Ask Northerners how it feels now that they are under attack from Boko Haram. It used to be Igbos that are slaughtered in the North but karma has its ways, now the killers are killing themselves.
It will be your turn soon, the Children of Hate and Venom:
A day shall come when you will see no Biafran to hate and your hate and venom shall visit you by your own people.

Spoken wise words. The thing an elder sees sitting a child standing will never see.

Yorubas will know war shortly.

Okoli Ikedi, state coordinator in Enugu for Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), is seen during an exclusive interview with Reuters in Enugu

Nearly half a century after a civil war in which a million people died, 27-year-old Okoli Ikedi is part of a new protest movement in southeastern Nigeria calling for an independent state of Biafra.

Such calls have become common since the leader of the group Ikedi represents in Enugu, the region's main city, was arrested in October, prompting thousands in the oil-producing southeast to join demonstrations in recent weeks calling for his release.

It's another challenge for President Muhammadu Buhari, who is grappling with a sharp slowdown in Africa's biggest economy, the bloody Boko Haram insurgency in the northeast and fears that militancy may resume in the oil-rich southern Delta region when an amnesty ends in December.

Like many in the surge of southeastern secessionist sentiment, Ikedi was born long after the war ended.

Displaying nothing that would betray his pro-Biafran leanings such as a flag or campaign T-shirt, to avoid unwanted police attention, the diminutive baker said poverty and high unemployment in the region were symptoms of government neglect.

"They want to make us economically poor. They believe the only way to control us is to increase our suffering," said Ikedi in a trembling voice, adding that his group, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), wants a referendum.

The group points to basic problems to support its demands for an independent Biafra, on which presidential spokesman Garba Shehu declined to comment, adding that he was not aware that the government was doing anything on the issue.

POTHOLED HIGHWAYS

The highways that connect southeastern cities are a source of frustration for business people in the region who say the partially tarmaced roads, punctuated by potholes, should be arteries of commerce but are dangerous to navigate.

And the refuse strewn by roadsides, combined with the acrid stench of open sewers, hints at the dilapidation that has fomented discontent in the 45 years since the civil war ended.

The 1967-70 conflict followed a secessionist attempt by the eastern Igbo people. Most of the million who lost their lives died from starvation and illness rather than violence.

Now, like then, Igbos say they have been marginalised - excluded from key government posts and denied vital funding for infrastructure development, schools and hospitals.

IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu - an activist who divides his time between the UK and Nigeria, spreading his ethos on social media and Radio Biafra - was arrested last month on charges of criminal conspiracy and belonging to an illegal society.

Political analyst Okereke Chukwunolye said the decision to arrest Kanu, previously a little known figure whose social media following outweighed actual support on the ground, was a mistake because it "increased his popularity and made him more visible".

The sight of the red, black, green and yellow Biafran flag at largely peaceful protests in the southeastern cities of Port Harcourt and Aba, and the capital, Abuja, has prompted secessionist debates in newspapers, on radio and social media.

"The issues that brought about the Biafran-Nigerian civil war have remained unresolved," said Chukwunolye.

In the 1960s, Enugu - which was the capital of Biafra - became known for its coal production which created jobs, as did steel, cement and gas industries.

"NO VICTOR, NO VANQUISHED"

When the civil war ended, Yakubu Gowon, the general who led the government side to victory over Biafra, declared that there should be "no victor, no vanquished", in a pledge of reconciliation. But the Igbos feel left behind.

Local people say the demise of Enugu's industries, a decline that coincided with the oil boom in Africa's top crude producer, led to widespread unemployment and was a consequence of the federal government failing to fund projects in the region.

At a market in Asata, an impoverished city centre district of Enugu, it is hard to find anyone who supports the government.

"Why can't you leave a slave to go?" asked vegetable stall holder Victoria Emelue in response to the question of secession, raising her voice above the cacophony of traders, shoppers and blaring music.

She said her three children - all graduates in their twenties - had been unable to find work, prompting her to be fearful about the future.

"Of course I'm in support of Biafra," said 28-year-old wholesale food trader Uchenna Ede. "If we are freed, the eastern part of Nigeria would have a huge turnaround."

A common complaint is that Nigeria's presidents have tended to come from the north or southwest - areas dominated by Hausa and Yoruba people - which, some say, has led to Igbos not being appointed to influential government positions.

The constitution says there must be a minister from each of Nigeria's 36 states, but the presence of a Muslim northerner as president with a Yoruba vice-president, Yemi Osinbajo, has been cited as evidence that the north and southwest remain dominant.

It's a reminder of the complex alchemy that brings together 170 million people in Africa's most populous nation, split roughly equally between Christians and Muslims across around 250 ethnic groups, who mostly co-exist peacefully.

Tensions are rising. IPOB campaigners say they are committed to peaceful protests, but their demonstrations prompted the military to issue an "unequivocal warning" that efforts to bring about the "dismemberment of the country" would be crushed.

Chukwunolye said it was unlikely that Igbo anger would result in bloodshed, in stark contrast to Boko Haram militants who have killed thousands and displaced 2.1 million people since 2009 in an attempt to set up an Islamic state in the northeast.

"There is no separatist movement - it is just an agitation by some youth elements," he said. "Those who were involved in the thick of the Biafran struggle will never wish to see war again."

Like i wrote to you earlier, you know nothing about the geography of Nigeria.
Kogi state is made up of three major ethnic groups: Ebira, Okun(Yoruba) and Igala. They are different tribes with different senatorial districts and different political/cultural aspirations.
The disputrd area belongs to the Igala. The Okun(Yoruba) area in Kogi state is far from Anambra. If you really want to Anambra to become an Oil producing state, face the Igala who are contending with you and leave Yoruba alone.

IHEJIRIKAisBOKO:
Bros i have no apology for writing this - you are an ignorant doofus ! That you live with the Igala people doesnt mean tracasseries wouldnt ensue between you. Bayelsa state was excised out of Rivers state, when the Soku Oil wells was ceded to Bayelsa by former president Jonathan didnt it lead to a face off between Amaechi and Jonathan.
Yorubaland in Kogi state does not extend to Ibaji. The Yorubas in Kogi actually what their own separate state(Okun state) away from the Igala's. The Igala's are the one killing you, face them and leave the Yoruba's alone

If the Igalas want a war then they will get a war. A small group never attacks a major group and go Scott free.

However, with that said, the yorubas are still the instigators of that crisis. U know, the usual fanning the flames but keeping outside the fire.

We will not make the Ojukwu mistake twice and any stupid person from the east that wish to sideline(underrate) yoruba involvement in this crisis should do so at their own personal risk and not the igbo nation.

The crisis is Kogi and Anambra and not Igbo and Igalas, becos not all those attackers are Igalas, they are from Kogi tribes if not Northerners.(Hausa Fulani, Kanuri, Nupe) The usual muslim anti-igbo gang.

Some people say the problem is our christian value, the yorubas say we are not politically savvy or is it sophisticated.

I put it down to common sense not being common. I will hold out until the day igbos learn to reassure yorubas and hausa wen they complain that our public officer have not left out our region in terms of project allocation. Like they did Stella Oduah.

Tell them wateva it is they want to hear about the minister, but by the time your tenure is up(as in the case of Chidoka), your efforts should make that minister attain the status of Angel.

Wen I say effort, I am talking about giving Ndiigbo their own fair share of national project in the East.

This is wat, i hold out to see from Ndiigbo. Not the usual going there to answer better person with nothing to show.

The Igala's in Kogi state are busy killing your men, raping your women, dening you acceas over Oil exploration and what you lot can do is to blame the Yorubas.

Ibaji belongs to the Igala, the Igala are the one killing your people at Aguleri. Go and Fight them and stop blaming the Yorubas

We know the yoruba in kogi are behind dat, becos we have lived with the igalas and no problem until recently.
Politics / Re: Why Britain Prefers Hausafulani To Southern Christians. by waternopassgari: 10:07pm On Jul 12, 2015
Hausa Fulani dont own oil. They are both stealing from the south. If the oil well was in the north, the case will be the reverse.

Further, wen the Igbos where busy fighting and demanding Independence for Nigeria from Britain just like the Irish, the Hausa Fulani said they where not yet ready and wanted to remain under British colonial rule.

Hausa Fulani brought corruption and capital flight to Nigeria by stealing and taking billions of our looted dollars to British and Swiss banks. That money was used to build Britain and Switzerland and in some cases confiscated without return till date.

Britain basically support the down fall of Nigeria becos they know we are richer, educated and potentially could be a world power like America.

Nigeria does not belong to Britain but they are allowed to have day dream about imaginary influence over our affairs whilst they mass deport Nigerians from Britain.

Such interference will soon earn them public enemy number one in the not too far future.

You are 1000% correct bro.

I wish our business people will graduate and start building world class hotels to attract tourists and not just chalets with rentable rooms called hotels. Grand Hotel Asaba initially started well, then suddenly relapsed into the usual room business focus of our hotel system.

A modern hotel should be a fun place not just simply a room to let and sleep in at night, the way we envisage what a hotel should be in Nigeria. A good hotel alone with world class facilities is enough to attract tourists into Enugu to holiday than all the local festivals, caves, waterfall we are so keen to advertise or market. That does not mean those caves or festivals are not important to develop, but the average regular tourist simply wants a good holiday vacation and not really the anthropology adventure of exploring medieval caves etc. That is why Cape Town SA leads the rest of Africa in attracting tourists, yet it has no festivals or carnivals, but great hotels!

Imagine this picture below is a hotel in a small town of montego bay Jamaica! Notice how they planted coconut trees all over the pool area to give it a tropical paradise feel.
Paradoxically, we Igbos living in the tropical Africa cannot do anything close to the standard of this hotel because we concentrate too much on the chalets/rooms part of the hotel. The hotel this picture was taken cost only $150 million dollars to build the entire place! Most of our shoddy hotels cost twice that price to build. Arthur Eze can build a hotel of this standard and with pool area, coconut trees like in the picture only if he gets the advise from well exposed architects. Such architects in our clime are very scarce in Nigeria.

Our people are still learning how to build and add value to property. That picture is just the pool aea economy only with pool side recreation non achololic bar.

The effort to distort the Enugu city master plan should be resisted vigorously as the plan to distort Abuja master plan was thwarted.

i have said it that the state government must not only demolish those illegal structures, but open more high brow housing areas such as Independence layout phase 2 and the Emene area for new housing by building access roads and electricity poles. It is not enough to stop people from building in illegal places, if you do not provide new legal estates for them to build.

Gov. Ugwuanyi should build access road to open up the linking of Abakaliki road at Emene to the Nsukka road at ninth mile corner called the Enugu Free trade zone(FTZ) road. If that access road link is built, that will open up a massive new area for property developers to build new estates in that area. they can plan that whole area like this layout posted earlier. That will open a huge area for developers.

The free trade zone will need some kind of dry land port like has been approved for Kaduna. It should be built with accesss to rail line for railway container transport.

I thought someone would raise this issue over the years but none so far. I know it will become an issue sooner than later under Buhari Presidency as people look for the slightest safety concern to deny other regions an Intl. airport. Anyhow, its good to keep our facilities safe and sound.
So, with the Enugu International expected to grow in time. I was just wondering if it is time to relocate these innocent folks living at the tip of the runway for their own safety? Besides, NCAA might cite this as a reason for deeming the airport unsafe, they way they did to Asaba airport, if that village or slum continue to grow with attendant cooking smoke etc coming out from the location which might obscure pilot's visibility just at the point of touch down on runway 26. The state govt. should act proactively and relocate the folks so close to the foot of the runway before NCAA drops the hammer and disrupts operations at the airport for weeks or months over something the govt. could so easily quietly take care of.

That is common sense. All the residential Area in and around the run way must be relocated ASAP with urgency for health and safety reason. They should not be within site and sight

Give them the same land mass for free in another location plus build modern housing to compensate them.
