Congrats and welcome to the ITA family.....You rock!

My e-family! I passed my Ielts o, I PASSED!

I couldn't sleep kankan, been refreshing the page but showing result not found, I just enter gentle mode, didn't want to talk too much, I was just liking all the posts on this page without even reading and worse still you people were unusually quiet yesternight so nothing to engage me, the tension no be here o but now, the journey looks real to me.

First attempt BC
Overall Band:8.0
Listening: 8.5
Reading: 9.0
Writing: 7.0
Speaking: 7.5

NaGodwino!

I doubted myself a week to the exam, I have an extremely demanding job (7-4.30), two boys (3.4 n 1.5) with no help (hubby stays in another state and came home the night before my speaking test).

Thanks to God almighty, I used the study materials on page 1, I chose advantage by Chris and the material that came with the registration.
I made dinner immediately I return from work (if you greet me pass 5sec after close of work, I will politely tell you I have an appointment), fetched water (yes, pumping machine decided to spoil then smh), washed school uniforms, did homework (I had to warn the teacher, omo reduce the homework or you do it by yourself o) cajoled the kids to eat and sleep before 7pm (my toddler is still nursing, so that gets him to sleep faster, though stressful for me, for my 3yr old, I just pretend I am sleeping and after his numerous activity, he gets bored and sleeps off- sometimes, I also end up sleeping off lol).

So, I studied from 7pm-9pm (non-church service days, stopped attending mid-week service the week before exam (church days 8-9)), slept till 12, then studied from 12-5am to go make breakfast, walking like a zombie (most times, I complete my dressing up @ work, shebi na to come early, wu fashion parade hep?). I did all the practice on the website that Chris and BC recommended except the writing- did about 4 writing practice tests I wasn't 100% confident in what I learnt, so, I felt I needed to read more. I used my husband for the writing practice, whenever he chats me about work or anything, I will respond with either a formal or informal task 1 essay (e.g. I wrote an unsubmitted letter of complaint to the bread seller that sold him spoilt bread stating when and where he purchased, method of payment, emotions and the action needed lol, he had to beg me to stop correcting his statements). Then on weekends, I would send him my task 2 essay and he would mark and correct, whatever he says, I would paraphrase using a different but exact in meaning word and restructure the statement

So, I had 3 hrs sleep @ home, 30 minutes sleep @ work (during lunch time) and occasional dozing offs @ work. Boy I had headache but I lost the extra weight, someone begged me to recommend the drug I was using to shed weight lol.

My speaking was quite short and I lied no be small (well its called fiction). My examiner was speaking Yoruba ponbele while I was at the door and immediately I stepped in, she turn Oyinbo, DiarisGodo. I spoke on the song I like and the only song I could remember was Asa. I couldn't remember any other song in the whole wide world! I kukuma talked about the song and I am sure the examiner knows the song cos she was looking at me in a funny way like you know I don't believe you right? Wetin consan me and it took her a lot of effort to be professional lol (I said Asa lifts my spirit, identifies with my personality, ah iro yen po! abi when I didn't know what to jot down within first 5 secs, I turned to fiction o). In the Part 3, I made sure I used a lot of past, present and future tenses. I knew I did well though I didn't give my absolute best and I really trusted God for a miracle.

On the exam day, just as someone here said, I met two people I least expected, I used the restroom about thrice, the last time was to dance before the writing cos I was getting nervous. The listening was quite clearer than I expected, the part where the PhD student was talking about his future plans was what got me confused. Reading was bam, finished in 33 minutes, read over like 10 times. For writing, I spent extra time on task 1 about 24minutes before I borrowed myself brain. For task 2, I supported that giving gifts is better than other methods of showing we care and gave examples and detailed explanations. I didn't vary my vocab as much as I learnt cos the time was fast ticking. I read each sentence, paragraph and the entire tasks twice (Please write in pencil and edit your work). I was optimistic, I prayed, fasted, confessed and believed God.

God is faithful! If I can make it, then I believe you don't have any excuse

My advice, go for a Remark of your Writing, you may probably be upgraded to a 6.5 which will be a CLB 8 or 7 which will be CLB 9. As long as it's writing exam your chances of mark upgrade is high.

Men this PPR rain reach my side ooooooooo.

Long post alert!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will give the type of testimony that I benefited from in the past.

After being visited by two "ghost updates", I said that if I miss out on the next PPR rain, then there may be trouble cooking in my application .

My two greatest days on this journey were the day I passed my IELTS and PPR. The feeling was like being a born again for Christians. Let me quickly give my timeline before my long story starts.

Desicion to travel was at the peak when I read on the news late last year that Canada will take over a million immigrants between 2018/2020. Then I said to myself, it is time to try through FSW, as I have been looking for admission with schorlarhip all these while.

IELTS (1): 24th march
IELTS (2): 24th May passed on 6th June( My happiest day on this journey).
ECA: 20th June
EE profile: 22 June
Hubby IELTS : updated 13th July
CRS:448
ITA: 25th July
AOR: 5th Sept
MED: 27th Sept
BIL: 28th Sept
ADR: 17th November
Ghost Update 1: 27th November
Ghost Update 2: 4th December
PPR : 7th December dated 6th December
Family size : 4
VO: Ottawa
Travel experience: Nil
Province picked: Sask and Alberta
AOR-PPR: 93 days

I got the Indian visa location stuff too, but I have submitted at VFS LEKKI. They didn't say anything, I will give you guys feedback on the outcome. Paid #71710 for family of 4

This journey taught me to be positive, patient and the power of research. I turned Nairaland into a pocket Bible. I got 100% information that I used in packaging my application on this forum. I screen shot any important information I read anywhere whether I have reached the stage or not. I read all my saved items at my spare time because i don't know what will be my own case

IELTS: passing ielts was a major breakthrough for me. I knew my journey has begun with or without POF complete.

ECA: University of IBADAN PG school I hail ohhh!!!!!!
they were so fast and efficient in sending and verifying my MSc. transcript( Nairaland saved me from doing my Bsc. too and MOUAU would have showed me pepper as they toasting my younger brother now)
POF: this looked like it was going to be a huge challenge but my siblings kept encouraging me to get to the stage first then we will know if it will stop the process. When the time came O my God !!!!!!!!!, my siblings, hubby siblings and even parents SUPRISED us, everybody wanted to give us money, at a point I was confused on how to merge everything. Our POF was in excess by 30%. 100% dash ooooo. I never knew they had that kind of money, when abroad matter came up, everyone wanted to sow a seed in our life. Nothing FASTING AND PRAYING cannot do. Don't be discouraged about money, keep praying and allow God to do the rest.

POST AOR: After submitting BIL, the waiting torture continues, I attended planning for Canada and researched other pre arrival programs. When the craze of e-mailing Ralph came, I did on 6th November and got the information that my file was at Ottawa, Eligibility in progress, Criminalty started 15th Oct, security not started.
ADR: I got an ADR for Hubby's Schedule A . At the point of submission I noticed that the file name to be submitted in the profile has my name and in my section, I said it won't hurt to fill the form too and let them pick the one the wanted. Next day my profile changed to reviewing document till date.
NOTE: I copied out all the information I filled before and after ITA for myself and my dependents on a book. It became handy when filling the Schedule A.

GHOST UPDATE: After being visited by 'two ghost updates' grin I was scared, until I researched and saw people that got even three without PPR on canadavisa forum. I believe "ghost update" means that your file was reviewed but the outcome is what we should pray for. From people that ordered for their notes on the forum, I understand that they noted 'next review date Dec' on their files ( August/September thread). I gained a lot from people's GCMS notes, it kept me going and reduced the urge to order mine till I mark 100days.

God bless Seun for this Forum, No matter the stage you are don't give up or you will miss u PPR date. GOOGLE is there for everything. Newcomers please go back to part 3, 4, 5 and read, it will take your time and MB, but you will get genuine information from people's personal experience.

From here I got the importance of online presence, I created a LinkedIn profile this year, updated it and filled it with people. I cleared all my side business from my Facebook account and did the same for my hubby. I was lucky my company has a very strong online presence.

POF: I used two gift deeds, from my elder brother and sister. I submitted notarized gift deed for my brother, my sister is in UK so she wrote her own letter in her own style ( refused to use my naija sample), she gave me the evidence of her transfer, marriage certificate and payslip. I didn't use her payslip because I didn't put mine. My money was in 5 Treasury bills from Firstbank (joint account) and Gtbank ( Personal) . I used 6months bank statement from Firstbank ( i had 100% POF there), generic reference letters from both banks and Tbills certificates. I explained in details how all the money came in and stressed that they can be liquidated at any time.

WORK EXPERIENCE: I submitted a very detailed reference letter ( I was lucky I worked with my boss on this), appointment, confirmation, promotion, and salary raise letters only.

CANADA EXPRESS ENTRY is real and you must be interested and determined to get there. I have told some of my friends and
some gave up after few attempts of IELTS while some are waiting to see the result if my own. READ and READ, there are a lot of pre-arrival programs people miss out because of lack of information.

I appreciate hundreds of people here but I will mention few to save space.

@Newmum you are good.
@Mcstan I pray for you always, you inspire me, we will celebrate you here on your appointed day
@dumprep, I met you at the PFC session, you have a nice soul, waiting for your Landing gist soon.

Finally all Glory be to GOD ALMIGHTY and Honour to our Blessed Mother Mary. That WOMAN is loaded. If you are a Catholic, near her and you will never regret it. SHE can't stand our tears and worries.

It has ended in praise for me. Yours is loading

MY PPR STORY

Started the journey in may 2018 when a friend told me to give it a shot.

Registered immediately for IELTS & WES Evaluation, then went straight to page 1 of part 4 to digest all the info relevant to this journey.

June 2 IELTS
July 27 ECA
August 8 ITA
August 23 AOR
September 20 MEP/BIL
November 14th PPR (Didn't see it until yesterday 'cos my phone was bad)

I've been amazed at the ease of my application & I owe a debt of gratitude to everyone who has walked this journey before me and were thoughtful enough to share their experiences on this thread. May God bless & reward you all.

This journey has been a breeze and the only hiccup I almost had was when I woke up late on the day of my tests (story for another day).

The last two years of my life have been traumatizing on a personal and professional level and I see this as God's way of giving me a new beginning and a fresh start which I'm grabbing with both hands.

For everyone here going through stuff you can't talk about, your testimony is just around the corner. Don't give up! It will end in praise.

And in the words of one of my favorite monikers here (una plenty o)...

Je m'appelle PPR!!!

I want to first of all THANK GOD, for this journey thus far as He has given me and my family many praise endings on this journey!!

It all started late 2016 during my annual leave. The leave afforded me the time to think deeply about my life and future and that of my young family in this country and I concluded I have to move if for nothing but for the sake of my kids.

I started out with the Canadian Study route (whilst I thought [at the time] that the Express Entry route was a long thing and difficult to achieve) God bless friends that I spoke with who encouraged me to give Federal Skilled Workers Class [FWS] a try.
(In retrospect, to imagine that the 3 schools that I applied to rejected my applications...Don't even let me talk about what I have spent hustling that route....God would have been looking at me and be like "yinmu" at me) grin grin

I and wifey wrote our first IELTS with almost similar scores...but we couldn’t use the score to climb into the 440s CRS range)- I got bad advice that I shouldn't waste money re-writing IELTS, that I should just pack into a PNP and coast to nomination for an eventual sure ITA- I did and till tomorrow, I didn’t know what made me take that advice (Don’t even let me talk of how much I have spent [and obviously wasted] on this PNP hustle talk less of bad advice that I recieved to cut some corners that would have marred my Canadian dreams ultimately by now). Thank God I didn’t heed the advice and faced re-taking my IELTS.

In Oct, 2017, I submitted an application to SINP. As at Dec 2017, I hadn’t received provincial nomination, little did I know that I was setting myself up for frustration and delay...unending test of patience for months...(You guys here on FSW can never understand what folks on the PNP route go through just to get the same ITA that we celebrate here on a regular) Here, many are even yet to understand the acronym- MEP- and before you say Jack Robi...., its PPR for them!
Frustration and lack of movement on my PNP application made me resit the IELTS and God did it enough for us to climb to 441!! (I can never forget friends here who advised against procuring an EOR for that IELTS as I had proposed to do so as to have a higher CRS than 441, they said that the score will drop and that I should wait it out…days after their advises, it did drop and I clinched an ITA on May 23, 2018)
I promptly withdrew my SINP application and bid the provincial program farewell for good. They acknowledged my intention to withdraw with a formal letter of withdrawal.

PPR alert.

Been following this tread since part 3, when my friend told me about the Canada thingy and I was looking for additional information. Its been a fountain of information.

Decision to move - I had based this on my IELTS scores, told God I wanted to do it just once and if he thought this was a good decision, then my IELTS scores should reflect it.

IELTS - 3rd March 8.5/8.5/8/7.5.
Decided to go with Wes as I wanted to evaluate all my degrees, 'cos of the future. Uk degrees went splendidly, then came ABU diploma, I had included...but God was faithful, he raised random helpers for me and that was sorted.
WES - August 8th

The plan was to enter at year end because I wasn't sure where the POF would come from. However since I had all my documents, I decided to enter the pool.
Created my profile.

God was the provider...POF = 80% gift deed, 20% savings account and included pensions for buffer. Bought a 3 months FD with the POF.
Submitted all the above, including a notorized gift deed from dad.
Family of 3
AOR:

Med/BIL: 28th Sept

Hello Everyone,

It's PPR alert, its coming really late but I thought to share anyway.
I have been a silent reader but this thread has helped immensely.
Thanks to Newmum in particular for all her assistance all the way.
My timeline below:

ITA: May 23rd
AOR: July 9th
MEP/IP1: July 25th
IP2: Sometime in the last week of October(It remained in IP1 for a long time and at some point I stopped checking)
PPR: Nov 6th.

It was a pretty straight forward application, I ordered for GCMS Notes but noticed that even in September Eligibility had not started.
I have had to renew passport and request for extension of passport submission deadline.

Thanks again to everyone that keeps contributing to the thread.
Time to migrate to "Living in Canada" thread grin grin grin

Stonebreaker01:
Finally, the Eagle has landed!
it's PPR!

Hubby and I can finally have a fantastic night's rest grin , I had a strong belief that part 5 will not end without my PPR testimony and it didn't.

Timeline below

Decision to travel March 2017 ( Was single then)
IELTS with BC April 2017
IELTS was passed at first attempt 9,8,8,7.5
ECA took about 6 months between NASU strike and IQAS
Got married in Dec 2017 and joined the pool as a couple with me being the PA
Hubby was on the journey before we met, had IELTS and ECA already
CRS score 477
ITA was JAN 5
AOR March 29
Proof of fund was FD which was maturing in 2 months and the balance was from my savings account.
Med passed April 12
Then the wait began ...............

Ordered 3 GCMS notes in between... 3rd yet to arrive
1st and 2nd had similar info note, one of my job references wasn't used so points dropped to 452 but was still good, so I didnt bother about CSE.
Visa office: initially London, moved to kyiv in August.

Started raising CSE and sending mails to Kyiv after 180 days post AOR and didn't really get very helpful feedback except to keep checking profile.
1st Ghost Update 16th Oct
2nd Nov, Kyiv contacted my office to confirm my employment status, HR replied same day.
5th Nov, status changed to NA
6th Nov, changed back to IP1

2nd Ghost update 8th Nov at about 2pm
9th Nov, status changed to IP2 about 2pm
Then at 3:45pm I got an email from CIC, opened my account and behold Passport Request Message, I was alone at the time, I didn't even know how to behave cheesy

We have been under a lot of pressure to get PPR so we can land in Canny before our baby who is on the way arrives or airline refuse to carry me lol. I just want to say a big thank you to God who makes all things beautiful in its time and a big thank you to everyone who has contributed to this thread. I discovered this thread about 3 months after applying and every PPR testimony shared really encouraged me to be hopeful.

*LONG POST***

First Application
Submitted: 4th April
Biometrics: 5th April
Delayed: 29th May
Reason: Purpose of visit, insufficient fund to pay fees without working in Canada.

Second Application: 13th June
Biometrics: 22nd June
Medical mail: 22nd October
Medicals done: 5th Nov (IOM Abuja)
Uploaded: 7th Nov
Approval/PPR: 8th Nov

Submitted Docs:
SOP
School admission letter (Carleton University, MEng Mechanical Engineering)
Financial Documents: Bank Statement (First Application had just a balance of 1 million, this second application had a balance of 11 million).
Treasury Bills, Shares, Properties were also submitted.
Graduated 2017. Just completed NYSC last month
During this second application, I ordered gcms for my first app, saw the reason stated by the VO (go through my timeline to see this), but I had already submitted my application so there was nothing I could do. I wanted to resume this Fall.
Towards the middle of August I sent out a lot of CSE containing my school fees receipt and also seeking for an expeditious review of my app. I didn’t get any responses immediately apart from the regular generic responses which came after like a week. I ordered gcms again and it came after 20 days. I found out my app was stuck because of an error in collecting data from New Zealand. Shortly after this I started receiving mails that my tuition receipt has been received.
My review of eligibility didn’t change throughout.
I sent a new admission letter from fall to Winter. Reception was confirmed. I stopped worrying. I looked at goingforward and admired her for being pious. I remembered my God.
I started doing early morning special prayers concerning this visa. This was in October. I partook of a 3 days dry fast in my church. 2 weeks later I received my medical mail. IOM was fully booked but God’s favour located me once more. I did the medicals and got my PPR yesterday.
What I did differently in this second application was I involved God.
Prayers do work and never ever relent. God will deliver unto those expectant of their visas in Jesus name.
I want to also thank Jeremy and Frank for taking their time out to reply my questions and advise me. God bless you both. See you all in Maple Land.

Ps. If you’re interested in the prayer points I used to pray send me a pm and I’ll send them to you. God bless

PPR IS HERE grin grin grin

IELTS – February 1st
ITA – February 21st
AOR – March 16th
IP2- October 23rd
PPR – October 24th

First week of January, I finally decided to see what all the hullabaloo was about Canadian express entry in order to decide whether or not it will be appropriate for me. I spent the week reading up on the express entry process and reading the living in Canada thread. On the 9th of January, my journey officially started. I paid for WES and applied for transcript. About a week later, I paid for BC IELTS. It was like the heavens approved of my decision, ECA was ready 1st week of February and I did not even have to pay for transcripts as my University sent them FOC. I passed IELTS and family came through for POF making my CRS score 476. I wore my swimming trunk and took the plunge. Everything was moving smoothly. I was already planning June landing BUT London decided to teach me a lesson.

Some days after AOR, I received the dreaded “how to find a job in Canada” mail. From my GCMS notes the email coincided with the date my file was transferred to London. For 6 months, my file was gathering dust in London Visa Office. Also, my eligibility changed from met to not met when it was sent to London. After 6 months, I raised a CSE and was informed that my file had been transferred to Kyiv, Ukraine. In October I sent a mail to Ralph Goodale and he responded that my eligibility had passed. Shortly afterwards, I moved to NA2, then IP2 and finally received the long awaited PPR.

Throughout this journey, I experienced so many emotions; joy, sadness, hope, euphoria, dejection etc. It was an emotional tasking something but God has done it. Delay is not denial. It finally ended in praise.

Proof of employment – My reference letter was short, only three duties were stated on it. I sha attached payslips, letter of employment, confirmation and promotion to avoid stories that touch

POF – I thought I did everything right for this section but it was this section that sent me to London. My POF had review required on it. I know that some people with review required remain in Ottawa but the one thing almost everyone in the London whatsapp group had in common was that review was required for one or more sections.

IELTS - I stammered and stuttered during my speaking test and did not even finish the two minutes but thankfully, I still got enough points to apply

Finally Nairalanders, you guys are a fantastic bunch of people. Thanks to everyone that has helped in growing this express entry thread. It is a great source of information and was very helpful to me.

Drama at the Airport

We got our PPR in June. We decided to land at the end of October. We are a family of 4. Ethiopian Airline was the airline we chose and I must say that they were very okay. Our flight was at 1:30pm, however we left home by 9am (which in hindsight was a great idea). When we got to the airport, the immigration officer at the entrance wanted to check our bags. He asked what we had in our bags, I told him 6 out of the 9 bags (one extra luggage) were books. He sharply gave us the pass. When we got to the screening counter just before the airline check-in counter, the lady asked for a 'Form' ( apparently, it was the COPR document). We told her we didn't have any Form other than the vignette in our passports and a passport photograph. We went back and forth for a few minutes and then the next thing she said was step aside you need to contact the embassy. Ha, step where?. All this while my Hubby was the one speaking with her.Within a split seconds, I auto-recalled the 5 ielts(es), 5months 3weeks LVO wait, packing and weighing each bag and every single experience leading up to that moment all flashed before my mind. I responded fiercely, you cannot ask us to step aside just because we were not given the document you are asking for. That was how women drama started o. short version is my hubby just pulled me aside and said you cant win this battle by forming rights, we are not in Canada yet. My 8 year-old son came to me crying, "Mummy what would we do now?". That's when i went aside and started praying. our PR visas were going to expire in 4 days. There was no time for serenren'.

Background Story

All we got back when we received our passports were the stamped passports, each with a returned passport photograph in it, with a paper that carried instructions. Apparently, there was supposed to be a confirmation of permanent residence document (with those passport photographs affixed to it for each person). We never got those documents. We were wondering why those passport photographs were returned unused. How this happened, only God knows. We were so sure we never received any such document.

Resolving the 'ish'

After much back and forth, the airline asked my hubby to write an undertaken stating that they will not be responsible for any extra cost (if we got sent back). Ah, is that all?. We wrote with speed. We had lost alot of time to this drama. The first boarding call had been made. We were let off to weigh our bags.

Things we packed
We decided against taking food stuffs. We took mostly our books, paintings, clothes, duvet(Thank God because surprisingly the ones we brought are thicker than the ones i have seen in the hotel here.), wigs and attachment(ladies you know now, I cannot come and be paying $100+ for hair). We didn't cargo anything.

Over Weight and Extra Luggage

When I got to the counter, I knew I had no time to waste. I saw the lady had natural hair, I complimented her hair. That was the ice breaker. When our bags were weighed, ALL were over weight by 2-3 kg. I was 'flabber-whelmed' because I had meticulously weighed each bag (multiple times). My son pointed out to me that their scale wasn't starting from 0 but from 3kg. I wasn't ready for more drama. However, before I could start defending the bags, the woman just said she was going to let it slide. We paid N72000 for the extra luggage ($200 as opposed to the $60 written on their website). All bags in. They didn't weight our hand luggage (was thinking I should have padded it more tongue).

Flight Experience

My Truth, is that Ethiopian Airlines was okay. Not Fabulous and not bad. Their food was okay, my Naija taste buds could handle 80% of what they served. My kids too. The Air hostesses were courteous, in-flight entertainment wasn't the latest movies but they had good movies. I liked also that they had self development audio books too. The flight time was 4+ hours to Addis,we had about 3 hours layover. There was another 7+ hours to Dublin, there was another stop over (for refueling) but we didn't leave the plane. This lasted for an hour. The final leg of the flight was 6+ hours to Toronto.

Landing

We weren't so exhausted because we had enough sleep on the plane. We went through Immigration, there wasn't any queue at that time. He collected our passport and asked for our COPR document(the same one that caused drama before we left home). We told him we never received it. He told us not to worry that they'll just re-print it. He sent us to another office. This new immigration officer asked for the same document we told him the same thing. The he went to his supervisor who showed us a copy of the document. At this point we were triple sure that we had never seen that document before. She had him reprint it. They asked for goods to follow. The whole process took about 40 mins. The Immigration officer said "you are all set" and I said to him "you didn't say welcome to Canada". He smiled apologized and said "Welcome to Canada". We also got our SIN done in about 10mins. As we were leaving we realized that people started trooping in. Apparently, they went to pick up their luggage first before doing the paper work. It was a great idea to go do the paperwork first, and when we went to pickup our luggage only ours was left ( no struggle). However, 2 of our fancy Ghana-must-go bags were ripped badly. The airline wrapped all the books in another bag. Good thing is we had large bags that still had space, we just repacked.

Temporary Accommodation

We didn't use Airbnb because we got a deal with Residence Inn by Marriott that rivaled Airbnb. It covered breakfast and airport pickup and had a kitchenette.

Weather

It is cold (and getting colder by the day) but we just told ourselves to suck it up and get on with the program. That's what we signed up for. We just layer up. I guess I kinda now appreciate better the idea of four distinct seasons.

Phone line

Some nice lady at Pearson Airport was marketing CIBC bank. She gave us Public mobile sim cards with $60 voucher,$20 Tim Hortons voucher and $20 Swiss Chalet voucher. We were able to activate both sims easily. We likely would keep the sims because we got unlimited Canada and US calls, international texts and 6GB data(3g) for $56. You can build your plan, the more you add the more you pay. its flexible, you can pay less some months if you want.

Health cards and Bank

We landed on Friday, so we couldn't do much that day. On Saturday we went to service Ontario to get our health cards but we arrived at 1:15 pm and they closed at 1 pm. We chose BMO because they had a couple account deal, however even though they were open, they didn't have personnel to attend to us on Saturday. We made an appointment for Monday.

Shopping for Warm Clothing

We managed the Jackets we had from previous travels. I was hoping to manage to get some black Friday deals but I was told that black Friday is not such a big deal in Canada. Clothes are also more expensive here than in the US. We have no choice but to purchase them like that.

Longer term Accommodation

Still hunting.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this thread and left pointers to help others on this Journey. I had been a silent reader on this thread wayyyyy before I received PPR. It has been an amazing source of light. God bless.

Hello guys, I just discovered this thread this evening. We just received our ITA yesterday, my wife is the primary applicant. We have started filling the application form online. So, we inquired and got to know that the hospitals for the test were Children practice and Q life hospitals in lagos. Now, our issue is that the first hospital said they weren't attending to Canada testings for now while the second hospital said the next available date for testing is in December. Guys, are those the only hospitals for the test? And if they are, what do we now do?

Congrats, I tap into your testimony in Jesus Christ name.
mepconsultant:
LONG POST ALERT.

I promised to get back wt my story and here I am.
My Canada journey started August, 2016.
I used WES for my ECA and it was smooth.

IELTS JOURNEY:
I sat for IELTS 5 times as below
1st attempt BC, 04/03/2017: L7.5 R6.5 W7.0 S7.5
2nd attempt BC, 08/04/2017: L7.5 R7.5 W6.5 S7.0
3rd attempt BC, 11/11/2017: L7.5 R9.0 W7.5 S6.5
4th attempt MOD, 03/03/2018: L8.5 R9.0 W6.5 S7.0
5th attempt MOD, 12/05/2018: L8.5 R8.5 W7.0 S7.5

I tackled the first one with maximum confidence but I lost the confidence after the 2nd attempt couldn’t yield 8777. At that point, I ran to nairaland to seek for assistance. After BC spoilt my result the 3rd time (Speaking =6.5), I resorted to MOD. I tried my best the 4th time which yielded almost a useful result except for writing. I paid 46k + for remark but it came back same way. Unfortunately, I hardly had time to prepare for more than 3 weeks cos of the natural of my work. At this point I was already getting discouraged and asking if I’m destined for Canada or not.
I wrote the almighty and popular 12/05/2018 MOD IELTS exam which wasn’t well organized. After all the efforts, I lost courage and at that point I felt I should look for a lady that needs a guy so that we could … so I got a lady’s nos after d exam. When d result came out, I cried cos it was the truly the worst of all I wrote but God turned it to be the most useful of all. At that point I knew God is involved.

POF
With the help of God, I worked on this smartly, and I made sure no fund more than 250k was deposited into that account (at once), in d last one year. Thus, I wrote no LOE, Gift deed… and I wasn’t questioned. I submitted Acct Statement, general reference letter from the Bank and also the Bank reference in CIC format.

MEDICALS
I used IOM at Ikeja and it went well.

ITA TO PPR
My M.Sc Certificate wasn’t ready cos Unilag kept shifting the Convocation ceremony. Though I had used Attestation for WES evaluation, I needed the Certificate after ITA. As they always say, delay is not denial. As at the time IELTS was delaying me, Unilag refused to do Convocation and the same month Unilag had the Convocation ceremony (I guess), the same month I passed IELTS. After then, everything happened so fast. Little bit of delay gathering my documents, but God surprised me.

I got the Biometrics letter on the 12/09/2018 and I captured it on Monday, 17/09/2018. My people, I sent a mail to my agent on 20/09/2018 to update me on the Biometrics, and what I got was d PPR letter. The letter was actually dated 19/09/2018, meaning I actually got PPR after 2 days.

My people it could only have been God at work. Many other challenges, many aspects I won’t be able to touch. Pls do not be discouraged. Cast all your cares upon God. I fasted and prayed and God delivered me. I trust God for u also. I lost days and months through IELTS but God made the last part a testimony.

For those preparing for IELTS; Study, study and study hard. There are many materials available on this platform. Youtube is also there for you. I will also suggest u use ieltsliz.com. Wonderful website.

Though I used agent, I had been on this thrend from Part 1 till now, quietly reading everything possible. I learnt a lot from here and wondereful people are here to help.

I thank you all for your love and support. We will all triumph.

TIMELINE:
IELTS = 12/05/2018
ITA = 13/06/2018
AOR = 11/08/2018
MEP = 12/09/2018
Biometrics Captured= 17/09/2018
PPR letter = 19/09/2018

You’ve done so much for me, I cannot tell it all… Narekele mo…
What shall I render to Jehova, for He has done so very much for me
