Please I really need to talk to you via email. Ive sent u a pm. Thanks

Sometimes I just get so sad when I see Nigerians abusing each other over nothing, especially when one of the parties claims to be superior to the other.

@Mizbaby, while I thought you started off correcting some initial misinformation by @eruditor, you singlehandedly let the argument degenerate into a rain of abuses and chest-thumping and then added misinformation of your own. @Bandeco mentioned that you have a NL history of brazenly abusing others on other threads and from reading your history this is so true. You might not be a bad person offline but you need to cool off on the pride.

We all need to have humble hearts, which makes it easy to help and correct each other without the "I beta pass you" attitude.

As an agnostic atheist it just blows me away how the same people on this thread who invoke God's help to get their TRV are some of the same people encouraging using fake documents or projecting extraordinary pride towards others. Oh well.

Yh the duration of study is on the LOA. What I had in mind is that he will still work with the LOA but include the missing info like the latest registration date the exact tuition fees cos its like an overall fee they put there, also start date and finish date cos on cic website this info must be included in the LOA which they weren't. Maybe I'll just explain better to him to add the missing info on the LOA. Right?

AdexStudio:
Letter of admission. In admission leter it's always stated d duration of ur study. Like MUN : our Graduate studies lasted for 1-2yrs while PhD lasted for 4years.

So in the study questionnaire when they ask if my program involves co-op I should say no? And what do u mean by inform of LOA?

AdexStudio:
In my opinion, he should send you inform of LOA and courier it. But my fear is that it'll take up to 3/4 weeks before u get it.
On the issue of work permit, don't apply for work permit for now, when you get to Cad you'll sort that out.

Hello good people of Nairaland. I hail. Congratulation to everyone that has received TRV. I pray that everyone on this thread will receive their own testimony.
I want to ask please, cic asked for original letter of acceptance and I'm going through paper route. Does it mean that the school will courier an original copy to me. I have asked the school and they don't have any problem with it, only that they will need to edit the letter of acceptance they sent before because it doesn't have some of the information it must have according to cic specification. This may be a long post but please bear with me.

This is what they sent as per a corrected version:

To Whom It May Concern,
This letter is to attest that Chinwe with student number .... has been admitted as a full-time student to the Master of Communication at the University of Ottawa for the fall 2016 semester. The fall 2016b semester begins on September 6, 2016 and the registration for the 2016-2017 academic year begins in June 2016. The normal duration of this graduate program is one year but students may take up to four years to complete their program.
Tuition fees for the 2016-2017 academic year will be announced in the summer of 2016, however the 2015-2016 tuition fees amounted to approximately $21,000 for the fall, winter and spring/summer sessions.
Do not hesitate to contact me should you require additional information. Regards,

His name and contact info.

This is a draft of what he wants to send on the school's letterhead. This was not the original letter of acceptance. My issue is this I dont know if this is applicable or if he should write it in the format of an LOA and include the information he included here and also the years needed shouldn't it be specific like 2 years. Please help me fill in the gap as I'm to get back to him to add or subtract.

Then also my program requires a co-op..do I add that now and apply for study work permit alongside my study permit or I should wait till i get there to do that.

PLEASE HELP

Yes it does. Thanks a lot

Tenaj123:
Hello Wendu, As regards the 37k, it is an estimate for how much you would spend in 2 years. On the Avg Tuition fees at Uottawa are 7k per semester. When you multiply that by 4 (On the avg people spend 4 semesters aka 2 years) then you get 28k, the remainder i suppose should be for feeding and accomodation. 37k is just the avrg amount you would spend in 2 years, it can be more depending on the type of accommodation you get and your feeding as well.
I hope this helps.

I think it may be late to apply because their deadline was DEC 01 2015. But then again they may have extensions and still give admissions if they still have space. Me too tire for the $37k. Saw it on my letter of admission after seeing $8k on the website.

Just heard the deadline is March 1..guess they extended it. please check the website to confirm

yungreezy:
I hope its not too late to apply to UOttawa? Also did u have to write TOEFL or ielts even as English is our first language? The amount I saw on the site is also about $8000.. Where is this $37000 coming from

Thanks..I've gone through the thread. I must say, its very informative.

phrancisco:

Majorly the application checklist is what is required for the visa processing but it now boils down to each individual adding extra documents to make it easier for the VO to understand their case as each individual's application is different. I will suggest u go and read atleast from the beginning of part 9 so u can get a better understanding.
All the best!!

I applied to UOttawa and sent all other supporting documents by email. From your infoweb account you will see the contact information of your academic unit. Get the email from there and send to them. Remember to use your student number on all correspondence.

iamosamede55:

Thanks for your response. But the school I completed undergraduate program, normally sends transcripts on behalf of the student, as such I can't make additions to that package. I won't even be aware when they'll send it. They treat the transcripts as confidential and only the requesting institution has access to it. Pls do we have oda applicants facing this challenge.

Hello room, so the last time i said anything i wasn't detailed and I realize now that the question was uncalled for as i have gone through the thread and gotten most of the information I need.
My name is Wendu, i have been offered admission to UOttawa for fall 2016 for Masters, communication. Want to start applying for study permit from now. I have a few questions though.
1) Which route is highly recommended- paper route or online. I have already decided to do upfront medicals no matter d route.
2)Since its just the SOA that needs d original to be sent, must all other copies of supporting documents be notarised.
3) I am planning to use my dad's company as sponsor and him as the co-sponsor using his dorm account. Please how can i go about it. Will both need separate letters/affidavits of sponsorship?
4) I'm sure I'm not the only one that got scared with the $37,000 in the offer from Uottawa as opposed to the $6,888 + that was written on their website for fees. Any comments on this.
5) I am currently working as a front desk officer in an oil trading firm. It doesn't pay me much so once salary comes in n it leaves..and sometimes they issue cheques. How would this affect the application. Do I need to to put in my empty SOA And again, it is not related to what I studied-Theatre Arts or what I'm going to study. Does it matter? BTW I'm 22yrs, finished from school 2014 and finished NYSC last year.
6) I asked the school for a letter of acceptance on their official letterhead as I felt the one that was sent to me via email may not suffice. they have agreed to send it and is asking what address to send it to.Please advice on the address or on if it is necessary at all. And if the different routes would have different addresses.

As I have more specific questions id ask but please gurus in d house..help a sister.

@tnuola, @hayqinsbFX @thesoj please help

I am a newbie so this is very new to me, lol.
I'm about applying for a study permit and so far know that i would need to submit the medical report as well as police certificate along with the application package and documents checklist. I'd like to know if there are other documents to submit and what tips i can use to make sure i get the TRV, on time too.

Please help. I don't want to start the process until i'm sure of everything.
