Politics / Re: Why We Re-opened Silverbird, Rhythm FM - AMCON by WFE222: 4:04pm On Jun 26, 2016

There is nothing normal in owing N11billion for several years and refusing to pay while at the same time, mocking others who can't pay staff salaries. A man who cant use his common sense to manage his private business successfully should not advice state governors on how to run a debt free state.

From the way you write, it is obvious that you have never managed a business in Nigeria . For your information, it takes a lot more than common sense to run a business the size of silverbird without foreign support and Government patronage in the midst of the inconsistencies in Government policies and the general macro environment in the country You need a lot of prayers, a bit of luck and the kind of long term funding Nigerian banks are unwilling or unable to give.

Have you ever wondered why 80% of new businesses fail? Tell me 5 Nigerian businesses the size of silverbird that has survived over the years without Government patronage?

I salute the courage of the likes of BMB ...... who have over the years, invested in a country where everything is against you.

The greatest tragedy in all this is that there are Nigerians who are celebrating the demise of a Nigerian business because they do not like the Nigerian owner.

Besides, the loan is well collaterised so it does not impact the survival of Union Bank in any way.

@OP.

It is amazing how a human being can put so much effort into criticising what they don't understand.

You think Nigerians are so gullible, they will leave the comforts of thier home to attend a vigil in the expressway? Maybe the multitude that attend redeem church are seeing what you cannot see with all your education.

Let me share a personal testimony with you - Many years ago, I was broke, busted and disgusted. ..... but I understood the mystery in giving and receiving so I took the last N100k on me to redeem church and gave it to Pastor Adeboye ...... He did not say thank you, he did not even acknowledge the money but two weeks latter, the story of my life changed completely ..... that N100k opened the door of millions to me. Perhaps, I will tell the story one day ........ that dear doctor is why people ( who have understanding) drive long hours to go to redemption camp but I don't expect you to understand. .... you need to become a fool so that you can become wise.

Shalom

Perhaps, falling oil prices are not the only reason FDIs into our country are “going the way of the dodo”;
The President’s” body language” might be able to kill corruption but his spoken words are killing a lot more ……..

“Nigeria is so corrupt, the people are indiscipline, Powerful Nigerian are frustrating the anti-graft war. Nigeria is broke and the people should brace for hardship”

President Buhari giving International investors five reasons to stay off Nigeria at the India- Africa Forum submit in Delhi India

“The civil ser¬vice provides the continuity, the technocrat. And in any case, they are the people who do most of the work. The ministers are there, I think, to make a lot of noise, for the politicians. But the work is being done by the tech¬nocrats. They are there, they have to provide the continuity, dig into the records and then guide (those of us) who are just coming in”

President Buhari telling an international audience in France what he thinks about the people who will serve as Ministers in his Government.

“I don’t think it is healthy for us to have the naira devalued further,” “That’s why we are getting the central bank to make modifications in terms of making foreign exchange available to essential services, industries, spare parts, essential raw materials and so on – but things like toothpicks and rice, Nigeria can produce enough of those,”

President Buhari tells the world in an interview with France 24 broadcast that his CBN Governor is not independent.

“I hope you have a copy of the election results. Literally constituencies, for example, that gave me 97 percent, cannot in all honesty be treated, on some issues, [the same way as] some constituencies that gave me five percent. I think these are political realities. While certainly there will be justice for everybody; everybody will enjoy their constitutional rights, where the party in constituencies that by either sheer hard work made sure they got their people [to vote] and ensure their votes count, they must feel that the government has appreciated the effort they put in putting the government in place. I think this is really fair,”

President Buhari speaking at the United States Institute for Peace told the world that he would run an “Animal Farm Government” Apologies to George Orwell

Speaking on Channels TV after the meeting of the Lake Chad Basin Commission presidents, President Buhari referred to “the G7 meeting in West Germany” and “consultations with President Michelle”.

President Buhari shows why he needs to work on his Geography!

“I wish I became Head of State when I was a governor, just a few years as a young man. Now at 72, there is a limit to what I can do.”
President Buhari spoke about possible hindrances to his Presidency in an address to the Nigerian community in South Africa.
Politics / The Enemies Of My Enemy - The APC Paradox. by WFE222: 9:56am On Jun 23, 2015
“The enemy of my enemy is my friend” is an ancient proverb which suggests that two opposing parties can work together against a common enemy. This doctrine has been used extensively in the battle fields, in the corporate space, in politics, in sports, even in family feuds but it’s a proverb with a dismal history in practice. More often than not, the “enemy of my enemy” usually turn out to be a future enemy! This concept played out perfectly in the run off to the last presidential elections. In a desperate attempt to seize power, the APC assembled a team of strange bed fellows - Politicians with different ideologies, different values; different antecedents but united by a common goal. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you are from; the only condition for enlisting in this army is opposition to the Goodluck Government. They were so busy preparing for battle; they are unprepared for victory. The election is won and lost but the Nigerian ship is still rudderless.

Nigeria on a keg of gun powder
Nigeria survived six years of Goodluck Jonathan’s misrule because in that period, the country earned unprecedented oil revenues. Unfortunately, we do not have that luxury anymore. We need a president that is aggressive, focused and resolute but we seem to be back to the Yardua days of passive inaction. More worrying is the fact that the president appear to spend more time in his farm in Daura than he does with his advisers in Abuja or how does one explain his inability to comprehend the fact that the Berlin Wall was destroyed 26 years ago and Germany never had a “president” named Michelle.

The APC won elections in the midst of deep macro-economic catastrophe. They promised to “hit the ground running” but three months later, we don’t know who the principal officers are, we don’t know what their polices are, There is no direction, no focus and no tenacity. Already, foreign investors are leaving in droves, the economy has been on the downward slide for the past six months. The Government is silent about critical decisions that must be made for us to move forward:

 Fuel subsidy
 The PIB
 Reforms in the NNPC
 The Refineries
 Power
 Insecurity in the north east (The spate of bombing seems to have increased if anything)
 Economic diversification (What happens to the Automobile policy of the last administration)
 Tax reforms
 Merging of departments and agencies of Government with similar functions
 Youth un-employment

We cannot afford to play the ostrich
Government revenue is drying up (There is little or no demand for our type of crude), States are unable to pay salaries, businesses are closing, there is restlessness in the land . Too big to fail is a mirage. There is a real danger of this economy collapsing if our leaders don’t get their act together.

As events begin to unfold in the national assembly and politicians hustle for positions, the president ought to be told to that, the enemies of his enemy are not necessarily his friends!
